I do think a line needs to be drawn somewhere. I get allowing exceptions for stuff like Tony Hawk, AM, Mike Tyson, etc where their vidya is a core part of their identity in pop-culture, but the 'whitelist' solution is just gonna make it so a bunch of absolute chaff is eligible solely on the basis that they were in a video game at some point.

I can see the argument against Mike Tyson since there are plenty of other Punch-Out characters that are eligible and Mike Tyson was only in 1 game out of a 4 game series, but Pro Skater is pretty solidly vidya and the posterboy should be allowed to compete.

Gorillaz is the only band I've been following for years that still puts out consistently good music. Even Humanz had 1 or 2 good songs. While Mr. Ganker was good, you could feel some of the damage left by Ms. Ganker thanks to NSA's incompetence and horrible steps he took after the Ms. Ganker 2022 rigging in Ms. Ganker 2023. There are people that still believe the vote totals were so low and JJJ didn't make it because he deleted too many votes including legitimate ones and I have to agree.

Another thing I find sketchy is a lot of characters with less than 8 votes were not literal whos, some even having large presence in the side tournaments which had 1/3rd the votes of main this time. They would have most likely gotten a vote boost from that. Probably not enough to qualify, but much better than what they got.

GVH’s release was so average and mostly forgotten that I feel it inhibits her odds if anything. Maybe survives a round, but really don’t see Fang having a shot at this point.
Almost all the whitelists are male, so at this point could always just give Miku a pass this year and revote on some / all of these at the end of Queen of Ganker.
The Touhou spots are just going to be spent on Marisa, Cirno, and some other EoSD girl as per usual. I’m going to try and push for someone else making it in, but I don’t expect it to happen.

Grievous massive and continual board appeal with his own tan and great tournament OC makes him an okay winner even if he fits Ganker more and I preferred Hank. Zorak's show (Coast to Coast version obviously) pushed the type of surrealist humor Ganker is known for and the shows it inspired as well as his voice actor are a huge part of Cartoon Network and Adult Swim history with Zorak having a fun campaign making him a good winner even if I would have preferred Carl.

At least in the side tournaments, Umineko and Hitman fans expressed hating being forced to be paired with each other and some Agent 47 supporters even felt like giving up campaigning him altogether because of it. This is one of many reasons I hate matchup autsim.

In terms of Ganker yes. There have been two rigged finalists (Captain America and Shirley the Medium) in Ganker, so those almost feel like the worst by default.
On the contrary, his tournament presence and meme power were enough to get two related characters onto the bracket and past Round 1 before his game even came out.
His victory wasn't inevitable, but it was probable.

Before Strive, I think with a good campaign Bridget could have at least done decently.

I do think a line needs to be drawn somewhere. I get allowing exceptions for stuff like Tony Hawk, AM, Mike Tyson, etc where their vidya is a core part of their identity in pop-culture, but the 'whitelist' solution is just gonna make it so a bunch of absolute chaff is eligible solely on the basis that they were in a video game at some point.
Tony Hawk and Mike Tyson should not be allowed on the basis that they're literally just people, and AM should only be allowed because he's gotten into the Elite 8 so barring him now would be weird.

While Mr. Ganker was good, you could feel some of the damage left by Ms. Ganker thanks to NSA's incompetence and horrible steps he took after the Ms. Ganker 2022 rigging in Ms. Ganker 2023. There are people that still believe the vote totals were so low and JJJ didn't make it because he deleted too many votes including legitimate ones and I have to agree.
I agree too. There was no way characters were only getting in with what, 29 votes? He's deleting our fricking votes and won't give us a way to be whitelisted.
Another thing I find sketchy is a lot of characters with less than 8 votes were not literal whos, some even having large presence in the side tournaments which had 1/3rd the votes of main this time. They would have most likely gotten a vote boost from that. Probably not enough to qualify, but much better than what they got.
Honestly I wish the hosts had taken the time to provide an explanation for the situation.
