Honestly got BTFO'd myself and I'm not ashamed to admit it. Just the idea seemed dumb and the early shots looked weird, but somehow that very same scene worked great in the show. Overall it managed to match much of the tone of the Fallout games (that I've played) while being just serious enough for people to care about the characters.

Much like The Outer Worlds, it displays a hilariously poor understanding of capitalism while raking in profits for their rights holders that they should be regarding with contempt. House for example believes that if he nukes everyone's extra money, their means of making money, and everyone who has money, then he will be able to make more money. This contradicts his character in New Vegas who believed the best way to make money was to not eliminate his potential customers, and this isn't as much of a gripe about consistency with the games than it is a gripe about the intelligence of the writers. The fact that House has common sense in the game is what makes him so appealing to begin with, and if he were anything like the show's portrayal then I don't believe he'd have any fans.

I would like it a lot more if they either decanonized it or removed the last episode altogether. The connections to 1/2/NV feel forced and haphazard, and I don't think they add much to the show. In fact, it gets dragged down when I have to think about shit like why nobody mentioned Shady Sands "falling" during New Vegas, or how the Master missed multiple vaults in his backyard, or how all of the fighting in the show is done over the discovery of cold fusion, a technology that already exists in the Fallout universe.
It worked best as a fun vertical slice of the setting, and I don't think that even the writers wanted to be tied down with 25+ years of lore dictating what they could and couldn't do, so it confounds me that they tried to make it canon at all.
Falloutgays have, they have confirmed that Fallout is just a pile of ruins with some raider straight out of Mad Max and a tattered American flag outside.

It's been like this, at least the browns back then were respectable hispanics playing on consoles and easy shit only while posting off of desktops for a period until smartphones released. Today the board's a fraud, it's just r/TwitterChanSays/v/.
Whatever I'll bite. Just like the games, the world itself does alot of the heavy lifting. It's incredibly weird and unique but also bleak with lots of heavy and morally grey aspects. There's nothing else quite like the world of Fallout, even in other post apocalyptic stories and the show managed to translate that world to the screen pretty well.
Personally I didn't like all the main characters, but they are all well written with clear, easy to understand motives and interesting personalities (except Max, but that's my own subjective opinion). Also add to that tons of guest stars and famous actors with a bunch of comedic scenes to break up the action and darker themes and you honestly have a perfect wienertail to appeal to a very broad audience. Fans of the games are also pleased with all the Easter Eggs and nice attention to detail except for lore gays which is a very small percentage of the audience.
The plot itself is very hit or miss and several parts feel rushed IMO, but it is tapping into the current American distrust of corporations and consumerism so it has that going for it as well. Personally I don't think it is as amazing people hyped it up to be, but I do think it's good overall and does enough to separate itself from all the other run of the mill or boring offerings on TV right now.

I didn't like how they directly addressed 2 of the biggest mysteries in the game (the purpose behind vault experiments, and why the bombs fell) but there were plenty of moments that felt like they could've been straight from one of the games, especially the vaults. The vault experiments being the direct result of clueless, callous CEOs was disappointing, but still made more sense than any fan theory I've seen.
The reveal of the nature of vault 31, along with Bud ending up as a brain trapped in a roomba for 200 years, vault 4 being run by mutant experiments of the original dwellers, all great moments. Vault 32, 33, and 31 being in a cooperative relationship was a fresh concept that still fits in perfectly as well.
I went into it assuming it wouldn't be great but otherwise ignored the opinions of Ganker. I was presently surprised and actually really enjoyed it. I also still ignore the opinions of people on Ganker because there will always be people who like things they don't like and if they can't figure out why that's not something worth being mad about, they can always buy rope at home depot.

Honestly got BTFO'd myself and I'm not ashamed to admit it. Just the idea seemed dumb and the early shots looked weird, but somehow that very same scene worked great in the show. Overall it managed to match much of the tone of the Fallout games (that I've played) while being just serious enough for people to care about the characters.

What I don't understand is how Fallout has any kind of hardcore fanbase, it's lore is utter nonsense.
I know you just got a computer in 2015 but Fallout has existed since 1996. How can it steal ideas from a game released 10 years later?
I'm not saying Fallout is based on STALKER, just that they have a similar concept of being heavily moddable open world RPGs in a post-apocalyptic setting.

I would like it a lot more if they either decanonized it or removed the last episode altogether. The connections to 1/2/NV feel forced and haphazard, and I don't think they add much to the show. In fact, it gets dragged down when I have to think about shit like why nobody mentioned Shady Sands "falling" during New Vegas, or how the Master missed multiple vaults in his backyard, or how all of the fighting in the show is done over the discovery of cold fusion, a technology that already exists in the Fallout universe.
It worked best as a fun vertical slice of the setting, and I don't think that even the writers wanted to be tied down with 25+ years of lore dictating what they could and couldn't do, so it confounds me that they tried to make it canon at all.

New Vegas is an overrated, buggy, clunky game set in a map that's 80% empty just because some choices mean a scripted event will happen in the final mission.

Yes but Bethesda managed to really flesh out the lore. They have that entire conspiracy going on with multiple players in on it, which is more interesting than just making the Enclave be the root of everything wrong in the Wasteland. In 76 it was kind of cool to see a branch of the Enclave actually being more moderate compared to Vault-tec.

TES world I can accept because it's a fantasy with no pseudo-realism, so it's easier to write, and because I liked Oblivion and I don't hate Skyrim.

Whatever I'll bite. Just like the games, the world itself does alot of the heavy lifting. It's incredibly weird and unique but also bleak with lots of heavy and morally grey aspects. There's nothing else quite like the world of Fallout, even in other post apocalyptic stories and the show managed to translate that world to the screen pretty well.
Personally I didn't like all the main characters, but they are all well written with clear, easy to understand motives and interesting personalities (except Max, but that's my own subjective opinion). Also add to that tons of guest stars and famous actors with a bunch of comedic scenes to break up the action and darker themes and you honestly have a perfect wienertail to appeal to a very broad audience. Fans of the games are also pleased with all the Easter Eggs and nice attention to detail except for lore gays which is a very small percentage of the audience.
The plot itself is very hit or miss and several parts feel rushed IMO, but it is tapping into the current American distrust of corporations and consumerism so it has that going for it as well. Personally I don't think it is as amazing people hyped it up to be, but I do think it's good overall and does enough to separate itself from all the other run of the mill or boring offerings on TV right now.
Yes no one actually talks about the show, the story, what happens, the implications for future seasons etc. All "talk" is about how popular it is and how good looking and popular you too can be if you watch i.e marketing shills

I didn't like how they directly addressed 2 of the biggest mysteries in the game (the purpose behind vault experiments, and why the bombs fell) but there were plenty of moments that felt like they could've been straight from one of the games, especially the vaults. The vault experiments being the direct result of clueless, callous CEOs was disappointing, but still made more sense than any fan theory I've seen.
The reveal of the nature of vault 31, along with Bud ending up as a brain trapped in a roomba for 200 years, vault 4 being run by mutant experiments of the original dwellers, all great moments. Vault 32, 33, and 31 being in a cooperative relationship was a fresh concept that still fits in perfectly as well.
