I never even started.
No physical release (and also if "physical" version is pretty much just a code to use on some online platform that you can't play without, even if CD is still there) means no buy and I'll pirate instead.
If you won't give me an actual product I own then I won't give you money either, simple.
Considering most games nowadays require a day-one patch to get rid of gamebreaking bugs, that means you have preciously little actual options left, doesn't it?
Actually; the reality is even worse. There are some story-heavy experiences where the publisher even goes so far as to consciously leave the closing chapter worth of content out of the physical release and only offers it through their day-one patch, to try and thwart spoilers being posted on the internet before the physical release hits its street date. (Iirc Kingdom Hearts 3 did this; among others.)
I'm the opposite. Since they started putting nothing in the case besides the disc and an ad, I've wanted to get physical less and less. Also it's just so much more convenient having it all digital. So I can swap games quicker. And also my consumer brain wants to play some games the second they come out and I can't do that physically since they take fricking HOURS to install. Fricking dumb bullshit not even putting the game on the disc and releasing games so fricking early the need to be patched for a year.
unfortunately I've realized that all new games at this point are just physical pieces of drm that you can let someone borrow. But since we live in a time where day one patches and long term fixes are a thing, there wouldn't be much reason to play the base version of the game off a disc later once a console has been long dead. Not to mention the wear and tear on the console itself from reading discs, these new consoles are delicate and not built to last.
have you played anything new in the last few years? Little updates happen like every week for the first couple of months after a game's release as a standard. And the devs might add bonus content and other updates later on.
The opposite, I don’t have room for all this clutter. I like gamepass too because most games are at best a snack and not something to return to again and again so why should I bother owning it?
I stopped caring about physical vs digital when I got into my 30s. I just sorta got to the point where I realized life isn't really all that long and a lot of these games I own are just going to sit on this shelf until I die. I have a sizeable collection but the reality is I have tons of games on my shelf I will realistically never play again in my lifetime, or maybe just play once or twice. Years of making sure I have a physical version of games I love sort of put it in perspective that these things just sort of sit there on the shelf as I've already played through them a ton and have other shit to play as well.
It's a bit different for old games. It's nice having them around because playing retro games on a crt isn't really a replaceable experience. But other than that I just sorta noticed I keep collecting this shit and it just sits there forever. It doesn't really matter in the end.

literallyme bros, how are we supposed to emulate THAT
I feel betrayed by this movie.
The goose isn't loose anymore.
Goose will always be loose
Based! It's a shame my new personality from Grey Man won't last long though.
Awwww, the simple monkey brain cannot comprehend digital ownership. How sad.
i only buy physical albums, never gonna get into buying digital music
> buying
this is why youre dumb
no
i concede

Such as?
Only The Evil Within come to mind.

buying games?

I don't mind digital for the majority of games. There's just too many. I'll still buy collector's editions or merch for games I really love.
You're only using digital money anyway, so it's fair.
I still buy smaller indies and can't resist a good digital sale.
It's not any less tangible than a physical copy, only difference is one's on a disc and the other's on a disk
pitch the eventual movie game tie-in
I only buy physical games. I claim free digital games only.
Crack them and put them on a drive. Dummy
