I think this has to be maybe the most unfortunately designed Pokémon. Randomly high speed stat just so Mars' would outspeed you no matter what in your first fight, version exclusive that you can't get until after the 5th gym and then is immediately useless cause it's followed by a Steel gym while having mediocre offenses, not available in Platinum at all and then not in any regional dex since. Compound this all at the end to be completely dexited from the past two generations (not counting BDSP/PLA). Is there any Pokémon more cucked?

It's only available reliably in (Shining) Pearl and Legends Arceus, with the latter being the only decent point to obtain since the former is after 6 badges (the Grand Underground doesn't spawn it until after beating Candice), ORAS doesn't give you soaring/Mirage Islands until after the Primals/before the 8th gym, and specifically White 2 requires a funfest mission two layers deep only available after defeating the Champion.
If Gen X isn't merciful and includes it early on like Purrloin was in SwSh, I'm fairly confident the Purugly line might just become the most obscure Pokemon family of all time if it ain't already. It's hilarious just how many loops you have to jump just to find one. LA might just be its best blessing in terms of being noticeable in the modern day (especially on the Switch through its most well-regarded entry) given how aggravating it is otherwise.
