I don't know about mayflash specifically but one of the better NA ggacr players used this fricking thing and a bottom tier character to win a few medium sized tournaments and top 2/3 a lot of majors
Just check your local used markets for stick. Tons of morons buy a stick cause they think its required for fighting games, then realize they don't like or know how to play fighting games so they end up selling them. I got my rap4 for like 60 euros, I'm sure Qanba Drones etc. are also there.
I regret not getting a HORI Fighting Edge when they were available (at below MSRP).
Also nobody gives a shit about what controllers have been used to win tournaments.

Clearly the person who made this thread does so you are categorically incorrect.
better for some things, worse for others
modern fighters tend to be designed with pad in mind
hitbox is the other option, tends to be the most "optimal" especially in tighter execution games but has a couple annoying limitations of its own too
all personal preference
in my opinion controllers and peripherals like the crossup or the HORI alpha are superior due to having multiple ways to input movement.
Then sticks are better if you put in the time to practice and the time to find the right one for you.
Leverless are bottom tier, the only pro is that they are extremely easy to use compared to everything else.
I guess i will first learn the basics with normal xbone controller, i have never touched any of the fighting sticks/hitboxes and it's scaring me. Do you have budget ones that i can buy after i will gry more into it?
Why in the frick are these hitboxes so expensive? I just want to push block in vsav without raping my xbox controller and thumb but this shit is like $100 minimum.
Do they work as well and are the buttons replaceable if they get worn out? An ocd concern of mine is that I will start to love the hitbox but everybody will stop making them someday as the fad dies out/the fgc bubble bursts, and the hypothetical one I own will fall into disrepair. At least with pad I know there will always be a new xbox/ps controller on the market.

No.
I'll look into it because I want to make the transition. I need to make sure that whatever replacement parts widely on the market are compatible with whatever chinese box I buy.

Yeah but meme controllers might die when the fightan industry eventually crashes back to how it was in the 2000's.

technically pads and some chinkboxes are already banned from CPT but no one gives a shit. TWT is more lenient. just bee urself
Noooooo you can't just use what feels best for you that's not alloooooowed, you have to copy crusty 40 year old manchildren and use the same archaic controls that they spent twenty years contorting their fists around or you're a scruuuuub
No. But people won on those shitty Madcatz sticks and they're worse than modern Mayflash sticks with Sanwa parts.
I've won locals with this and I think it's a Mayflash F500 that looks slightly different

forgot link
Yup, Venom is one of many sticks Mayflash has released with this case. Let me put together a graphic real quick.
You've won locals with a stick you don't know the proper name of?
I don't know about mayflash specifically but one of the better NA ggacr players used this fricking thing and a bottom tier character to win a few medium sized tournaments and top 2/3 a lot of majors
Name of player?
mahouko
he fights in crossplay as a joke sometimes, don't get confused
after some modifications it's really good
I know.
Which surprises me that I never see them used in tournaments.
It's because they are too small to be placed on lap, too light. It's easier to just fork over money for HORI stick you'll use forever.
I just put my F500 on a plastic tray when I use it in my lap.
Mayflash F300 used in the top 8 of a 3S tourney.
?t=1336
that's a modded MF doe
You're intended to mod the F300 or F500. It's a big part of the marketing for the stick.

How does it compete vs normal controller? Not for tournament, but for online play. I want to get into fighting games and was thinking about it

keyboard is ok if you want to know what hitbox feels like. there are also 50 euro hitboxes on Ali if you're interested
Why in the frick are these hitboxes so expensive? I just want to push block in vsav without raping my xbox controller and thumb but this shit is like $100 minimum.
buttons are expensive, bos is expensive
brand, just get a chinkbox

I just want to play my fightcade kuso comfortably

Is this a decent beginner stick? Or maybe something cheaper?
That one is fine. I wouldn't go cheaper than this.
>2024
>still using sticks instead of hitbox

but enough about sticks
Fighting games are designed to be played with a joystick.
You don't play Golf with a baseball bat.
I fought in a tournament using my laptop at a bbq restaurant
