How do I go about playing this? I think the graphics are kino, and I really love the world and lore, but I fricking despise the gameplay. It's so slow and mind numbing.

have a nice day and take your ilk with you. The age of turn based rpg/jrpg/strategy games was one of the very best ages for gaming.
Yes, but it still didn't deserve to get shit on like it did in Nomura Shenanigans HD, subverted-expectationgays can frick off, if you wanna be surprised, look for a new ip
No. Its art style is very charming and unique and I love the juxtaposition between the cutesy chibi field graphics and the harsher, more grounded battle graphics and FMV's. Graphics snobs can kiss my ass or just play the remake I actually think the remake is really good but not ideal for a first-time playthrough because of the things it does with the game's story like Sephiroth showing-up very early and the time janny/parallel timeline shit, I even think the battle system is really good compared to most FF's with real-time combat.
No, the game's aged marvelously outside the graphics. I played it for the first time recently and I was surprised how good and indepth the combat was as well as the story. The only thing that really hasn't aged all that well is some of the dialogue but the same can be said for FF6.
I do wish square will do a proper remake so more gamers can experience the amazing story but that's unlikely unfortunately. The creator seems to have George Lucas syndrome where he's ashamed of his magnum opus
That's mobile gatcha game. Plus most people won't experience or play it. All square enix had to do was remake the original and it would've been beloved and sold like fire. The current FF7 remake/ sequal has disappointing sales and no one cares about it except hardcore FF fans.
No, it's still just as amazing. Okay, technically it can't deal with 35+ playthroughs without the events becoming known in advance to the point of every word, so it gets a blemish of routine to it. In that sense it has aged. That's just also true for most games.
>trannie mc >entire disc dedicated to the trannie's mental health issues >cuckoldry >diversity quota met >fmv movies >get hit too much and your basic attack is replaced with op attack so you don't accidentally lose
It's everything Ganker complains about in modern games, but are blinded by nostalgia.
Just play Shrek 2's interactive DVD menu instead. It's a much better game.
No, the reason I dislike wokeness is because of how sloppily it's executed. I don't give a shit about wokeness otherwise unless it's female empowerment which inherently pisses me off.
>trannie mc
nope. He cross-dresses in order to get into Don's Mansion and the whole thing is treated as a joke >entire disc dedicated to the trannie's mental health issues
While Cloud's mental health is a main theme, I wouldn't call it "dedicated" to it >cuckoldry
meme, not true >diversity quota met
diversity quotas weren't a thing back then >fmv movies
so? >get hit too much and your basic attack is replaced with op attack so you don't accidentally lose
Not all Limit breaks are attacks. And you can get sadness debuff to lessen their occurrences if you prefer
they should make a version of it that's only set in the first part of the game, so instead of going on a globe-trotting adventure through a variety of biomes with different people, settings, and scenery, you're just looking at the same dirty slums for 80 hours and running back and forth between the same locations
It was never that good to begin with.
fpbp the gameplay is shit the story is shit. millennial gamers shit and piss themselves at cloud going:
>S...s...seph...iroth...
>*passes out*
No. It's still great. Tendies are still asshurt though.
Its on switch buddy
I enjoy it more now. With the exception of that one mission with the military parade. I can't do it on a keyboard.
still plays exactly the way it did when it was released.
How do I go about playing this? I think the graphics are kino, and I really love the world and lore, but I fricking despise the gameplay. It's so slow and mind numbing.
there's a 3x speed option on all modern ports
No. Still one of the GOATs, genuinely has one of the best intros in gaming still.
the entire genre aged poorly and is dying a deserved death

in some ways yes, in others ways it holds up well

Video games don't age.

it's called Ever Crisis and Nomura and Nojima are still working on it
That's mobile gatcha game. Plus most people won't experience or play it. All square enix had to do was remake the original and it would've been beloved and sold like fire. The current FF7 remake/ sequal has disappointing sales and no one cares about it except hardcore FF fans.
5 million people downloaded the game and it's barely been a week, there's gonna be more people playing this than Remake and Rebirth sales combined

Ever Crisis has already changed shit, so no.
Jrpg combat is basically unchanged, so no it actually aged fairly well. Most JRPGs have.

Geez what the frick is up with this thread? Bunch of contrinarians.
lol
The game's still a perfect parameter to measure quality in vidya even if we are 26 years later.
no. easily top 20 game of all time.
Considering that its still the best game ever made and that games don't age, no.
