NTA. the last time i played the lowest rank was bronze. is iron better or worse than bronze. did they also implement wood rank?

Iron is like a reverse challenger, there is no bronze V anymore so all the absolute morons get sorted into four different tiers of Iron rank depending on how severely they are limited.
It's so goddamn hard to reach Iron 4 that they make special bots designed for deranking (it's a fair game since riot does't care) and even they can reach as about 40% wr there. Just fricking imagine.

i barely played normals or ranked and the first time i did i was immediately placed into silver 2, considering gold 5 was the highest you could earn in your placements, that must be pretty good.
so you're telling me iron IS wood league. fricking kek

>immediately placed into silver 2
its always like that, default rank is silver- gold and if you are new you will have to derank losing games and getting flamed

>default rank is silver- gold
lolno - I doubt anyone new will ever be placed into high silver, not to mention Gold. Bronze is definitely the default for new players.
Since a lot of people quit playing ranked for the season around the time they stop climbing consistently - Riot is financially motivated to place you as low as possible initially so you spend more time playing while climbing to your actual skill level.

Iron is the lowest rank. If you haven't played enough placement matches to be ranked, you're unranked. Iron is extremely difficult to get into, making iron accounts worth more than diamond accounts on some account selling websites.
>Our system to prevent "smurfs" just holds good players back
Congratulations, people asked them to rig the game, the ones complaining are still stuck on silver/gold anyway.
>waste time grinding for champion unlocks >shitty """giveaways""" that require you to buy subscriptions for shit you don't need >buy battlepass, can't unlock everything unless you literally play 24/7 for the entire duration of the pass event
fricking hell take me back to when Garena was in charge of the SEA servers
it was still as dogshit back then but atleast they let you get shit you want for like 90% off during their sales
>pay 15$ for the pass, need to play 4-5 games or more per day to be worth it, one of the worst passes in gaming industry >you don't own all the champs at the start of the game, need to grind them for hundreds of hours or buy them >the good skins are around 15-20$ each, they don't make 975(8$) skins or under anymore >increased the price of RP(game currency) every two years, before with 100 euros you got almost 17k rp, now 13500.
shit bait OP, kys
>Removed rune pages >Mastery pages become redundant >champion shards means the less champions you have, the more chance of getting a 50% off BE champ >The whole system is basically a huge upgrade from straight buying them with BE >lower levels basically shit out champion capsules anyways >gamepass gives you everything >prime also gives you a bunch of shit
as someone who grinded 10 rune pages as a f2p back in 2010 to 2012, newbs got it pretty fricking good
Admittedly, it's much better now, but it's still shit overall. The game has 164 champions at this point, which means that as a new player you're basically just locked out of 90% of the champions, until you grind like a madman and/or pay money.
Imagine trying to play a fighting game where 90% of the roster is locked for you, for example. It's insane to even think about.
90% is an exaggeration. It had 16 characters at launch and 47 by the end of its life. If you bought that game on sale you just felt fricked over, especially in a fighting game where it's extremely common to need to lab out things your opponent can do. I'd imagine any modern fighting game with DLC roster bloat would feel like that.
Just imagine how gay it would be to have to buy a champion in LoL just to figure out what they do so you can come up with an effective answer with how to deal with it when you fight them.

>Just imagine how gay it would be to have to buy a champion in LoL just to figure out what they do so you can come up with an effective answer with how to deal with it when you fight them.
It used to be like that for like 7-8 years or some shit. Then they finally implemented the practice tool where you could try out all champions.
eh, i really couldn't tell you from experience since by the time all those QOL changes were made i already had all champions, but the game really isn't stingy in that regard, like i said, champion shards are basically a 50% discount, you get a couple of free champions by doing the starter missions, the recent champion pricing adjustment means the easier champions are much cheaper and rotations are 29 champs per week, by the time you become half decent at the game you'd already have more than half the champions.
I have 20k orange essence and nothing to spend it on because I keep getting shit skin shards for champs I don't play. The only skin I bought was Mafia Graves back in 2012.
>monetization
its dogshit but still somehow 100x times better than what blizzard made in hots, everytime i want to play that game i drop it after reminding myself it takes weeks to unlock a hero
>nooo I have to play the game to unlock shit, I'm wasting my time with le grind
I agree that having to "buy" champs absolutely sucks, but why are you always complaining about having to play games in a vidya board?
Because being forced to play a game in a way you don't really want to play to earn the ability to play the way you do want to play isn't fun, and most people play games to have fun rather than just to play them.
>15$ battle pass, not joking >gives you ONE (1) skin, not joking >you need to grind for THREE (3) hours EVERY SINGLE day to get it. If you miss a day you'll need to double time to catch up
The only reason this doesn't get shat on is because it's too unbelievable. 100% of people who read this post will think it's too outrageous to be true
don't forget that riot keeps nerfing the pass system every single time so it's only getting worse and worse, with less, lower quality rewards and more grind.
based riot removing literally half the skins features after the majority of people already bought it and saying "haha theyll be back soon!" then they never were.
Wrong. They would regularly release new OP champions for 6300 in game coin or 30 bucks. There was usually never enough time between releases to get the characters through grinding and if you didnt use the new OP champ you would lose to anyone that used the new champion. This was the main reason I quit the game.
>monetization scheme >fair

how does that trick you into buying skins?
do you really have nothing better to do than tell outrageous lies online on a sunday night?
Do they still lock characters behind paywalls and grind? DOTAs heroes are all free.
They're all free to use by anyone at any time from the start?
>riot trannies so braindead they dont even bother to check if the competition has the better deal
Yes.
Yeah.
Yes they are. You could make a new account right now and one trick the newest hero for the rest of your life without spending a single cent
