try puting a full plate armor + equipment + sword + the underlether , and you will add 25-30kg to your body weight, it sound like not much considering its spreaded equaly on your body
but now try to run for 10 minutes with that 25 kg
your leg calfs will first get hard and painfull, and give out after another 10 minutes
that is if you are a 90kg man
now add 20 kg to a 60kg woman and see her die after 5 min of running

Everquest had NPCs that would go about scheduled routines, sometimes across multiple zones. This isn't something these games are incapable of doing, it's just something they choose not to bother with. It takes a lot less effort to shove every NPC into a kiosk where they'll never leave.
