Yeah, it's called Armored Core Nexus
as a huge nexus fan, you're right
i swear it's the world/garage bgm that draw me back to it every time
fpwp
spbp
yea its called elden ring
This
I even upgraded my computer for Elden Ring only to end up going back to Dark Souls 1.
Accurate
Pretty much
I call it the Remnant: From The Ashes experience
picrel
>Remnant: From The Ashes experience
Too fricking real
>Oh hey this future nuked back to medieval times aesthetic is pretty cool
>It's actually just a TPS with more intricate melee than just bash
>every fricking enemy is the same tree monster with two axes
>bosses designed to be fought with at least one more person
>melee fricking sucks ass
Melee is always hard mode until you're absolutely fricking geared to hell and back.
Bosses are changed for multiplayer, you can easily handle every boss as a solo if you aren't shit. The game is fun, but melee is not meant to be your main go-to. It was always marketed as a third-person shooter
same but the lobsters and other disgusting seafood
>pic
That thread was great. Hope the poor guy managed to complete the game in the end
qrd?
I don't remember if it was an "enemies you hate" or a plain ER thread
>one guy said there was an enemy they hated.
>Is asked, said he won't even say it because thinking about the enemy gets him fricked out of the gazebo
>Naturally, people start guessing
>Guy says he's already getting uncomfortable on even the idea of the name of the enemy appearing
>Eventually, someone guesses SLUGS
>Guy has a minor meltie about how much he hates slugs
>Thread collectively loses their sides while still being understanding that they can be a bit gross for sure
correct
ER made me lose hope in fromsoft. Yeah it a solid game but it seems they will never again make something as impactful as DeS
Dark Souls was never good. Bloodborne and Sekiro are special, unique experiences akin to Demon’s Souls
Dark Souls is literally the only good From game
this
Sorry to break it to you but Dark Souls is garbo
Sekiro is better than dark souls.
sekiro is overrated
Dark Souls is just Demon's Souls but better.
DeS is by far the worst souls game and it's not even close.
funny how the souls series loses soul with each new title
That's why it's called Elden Ring now, they ran out of soul
add me in the screen cap
i wonder who could be behind this post
spbp
fpbp
This, still mad I got memed into buying it
I knew there was a problem when I took an unintentional long break from Elden Ring to which I still haven’t finished it and seeing someone play it my thought was “Damn, this makes me want to play Demon’s Souls”
Empty open world will never be better than a polished linear game.
Same thing happened with me with BOTW. I stopped playing for a bit, and never went back to it, and if I want to play a Zelda game, I'd rather play OOT or TP again than ever go back to BOTW.
>endless train of ass-blasted casuals with each new From title
It never gets old and they never git gud
I didn't think they needed to make the game open world where the map is just fricking barren with ruined castles
wow beat me to it. Can't think of a game better to represent OP's pic than elden ring.
tpbp
Took me until getting to the Mountaintop of the Giants to realize this. It’s the same problem as Dark Souls; first half is ok, the second half is shit. Once you reach the Altus Plateau it easily becomes the worst game FromSoft ever made in the past 15 years.
Too much padding for my own taste. Trying to cpllect all the golden seeds and smithing stones for regular weapons was very tedious and boring.
Zelda chads keep winning
yep, massive disappointment, never finished it
the post that broke fromshills
put me in the screencap, good shit.
You're a giant homosexual.
It's okay I guess but man this game really is the rehashiest From has ever rehashed despite being an all-new IP.
The realization was less "this game fricking sucks" and more "I already played most of this game 10 years ago, and the new fraction of the game fricking sucks". Almost everything new the game tries is either inconsequential or a total mess.
They should've leaned into shit like the open-world and horse riding way, WAY harder to give the game a genuinely different feel from the other Souls. As it is it feels derivative of DS3, which itself already felt derivative.
True
Warframe
warframe was more fun back when you could glitchy ninja at 500mph and the old orokin towers and other maps actually were fun to explore and had platform challenges.
No it wasn't, I was there.
The community was better though
>"AHH WARFRAME WAS BETTER WHEN SJHDKAJDJDJJDEIEIEIDHDHXBJSKALAONNC"
>can objectively go faster than anything ever possible in old warframe by many many times over
>morons who probably never even played back then keep on name dropping "coptering" that they've heard people say before
>the most moronic movement "tech" in a video game ever that was tedious and stupid to do
>when there's things like hyper speed volt, wukong, titania, gauss etc
keep larping moron
me after 5000 hrs
Kek yeah this.
Also most MMOs once I hit max level and start doing end game content. I get as addicted as anyone else but quite early I realise I am not having fun and I uninstall to force myself to stop playing.
Most MMOs fail to have any kind of interesting story or joinable factions to entice you to keep playing and level.
go back to sucking dicks on reddit
Fallout 4
Oops I meant to say Fallout: NV
Nope. Fallout 4.
Literally every fallout game is unmitigated trash.
Fallout 4 was a literal skinner box. I remember playing it and having fun, and then I sat the game down to think about it and then I realized I don't remember a damn thing about it. It Was all just a haze of legendary guns and radiant quests.
Don't forget the blatant member-berry-jam spread like a thin ooze over top of everything, like 'hey you liked fallout 3, remember MacCready?' No, Bethesda. I don't. I didn't care then and I don't care now. I had no real affection whatsoever for 3, so trying to shake me and make me remember your bland, uninteresting, poorly-assembled toybox is going to get you nowhere. That Black Isle was able to make something as good as New Vegas from the mess that was 3 is baffling to me, it's like those youtube videos where that iron chef makes a frozen tv dinner into a michelin-star-style meal
make up your mind schizo
Nah wait I actually meant fallout 1 and 2
warframe
wow
league of legends
path of exile
i may have a problem picking games
the only game there that "sucks" is Warframe. the others are just games that dont fit your taste.
Warframe is objectively better now than it was before and it's laughable if you think it's worse than any of those piles of crap.
Warframe a decade ago? Sure though, it was barely more than a scummy phone game.
Nier: Automata
based, that shit is only popular because of coomers
This was me playing XIV. I'm an idiot and it took me 100+ hours before I realized most of my time was spent doing the most boring nonsense imaginable in hopes of a cool cutscene.
About an hour or two so into my FREE copy of Horizon Zero Dawn.
Dragon age inquisition
Unfortunately true. Like it just dawns on you at some point that that everything is only skin deep. Ran out of time or lacked direction perhaps.
>Get to the final level of Doom 3
>this happens
>never finish it
Happened to Dead Space also but I don't think that game sucks, I just stopped caring forever about beating it.
I watched an anime called GATES and it took me till the last episode to realize i didnt like it.
Battlebit Remastered
animal crossing new horizons
Absolute fricking truth. I'm finding it such a chore to continue. Help me figure out why exactly it sucks? Is it just because it's a donate to the museum simulator?
it just seems to turn into a chore simulator.
It's an Animal Crossing game. They're inherently chore simulators.
not really though. at least not how NH exaggerates chores.
NH feels more like No Man's Sky than Animal Crossing with the amount of useless shit you need to craft every time you play the game on top of absolutely lifeless npcs to interact with.
All the dialogue in Animal Crossing got reworked in New Leaf, so it's not fun interacting with any of the NPCs anymore.
Boring Dialogue and tool durability did it for me. I feel its even worse in Animal crossing than it is in BOTW/TOTK
>I'm sure it will get better as things advance
>It was actually the entire game already
>Oh well they will update it I guess
>No content for over a year
Have they ever fixed the fact you can't place objects in the center of tables when outside? That would drive me crazy
So New Leaf was the peak then? Wild World was pretty comfy last I played it
These games only worked when you were a moronic kid. You're not going to build a serious relationship with camo frog who has a grand total of probably 30 lines.
I played a ton of it when my government kept me locked indoors at gunpoint. After they let me outside again, I never wanted to touch it again.
It's the definition of nu-fun. You have to basically be imprisoned to "enjoy" it.
Same. They really dropped the ball compared to even New Leaf. Making features from the past game as DLC was so stupid, and they didn't even bring everything back. And holidays are now timed DLC? What in the hell, what were they thinking? And all the missing furniture, poor dialouge options, etc. doesn't compensate for being able to edit your island. Very sad. Wild World is still my favorite.
This. There's literally no content and its a constant cycle of boring menial tasks. No wonder woman like it so much.
>bought the DLC
>was so excited to get back into it
>the fricking nothing burger update made me drop the game again before ever getting around to playing the DLC
This but with new leaf a few years prior. Animal Crossing as a whole is just a nothing game.
AC can barely even be considered a game. It's more of a shitty chore sandbox
Funnily enough, this also applies to AC - AssCreed
My boomer mother got tired of it and came back to new leaf. She says it was a chore to play new horizons.
Halo
which one
dark souls
Dark Messiah
Journey. So many cutscenes and sections where control is taken away from the player, to the point where it just doesn't feel like a game. Almost zero replayability, and the snow level plays so badly even the epilogue can't redeem it.
GTA 5
Destiny
yeah, evenicle
>get big titty horny knight gf
>ALRIGHT DO YOU WANT TO ALSO GET THE e-girl b***hY PRINCESS
>no thanks
>close game
>never boot it up again

Was interested in this back in like 2016/2017, saw vinesauce KY play it once, then I forgot about it and it's rotting on my steam wishlist. Guess I don't give that much of a frick about Sentai after all.
Well I kind of do but the level design is non existent (apart from art), writing is dogshit for the majority of it, equipment progression is a fricking mistake because unless you purposely gimp yourself all your rangers will be wearing mismatching shit from completely different uniforms, and combat is borderline braindead unless you are.
>check steam
>still installed
>check last played
oof
Just junk that shit bro, might as well learn to import/regulate actual Toku games.
Also you're giving me anxiety about my own backlog. I need to start playing more games.
>regulate
emulate*
frick me
>bioshock
I mean, I wouldn’t say it sucks but I was throughly unimpressed with it, it just felt like a chore to play. It might have been a product of its time back when movie games and grey morality narratives weren’t as common, since I only played it a few years ago
It was a gen 7 attempt to modernize the system shock formula.
It's decent but it's fricking flawed because of that and because all the "fat trimming" they did just fricking made it feel too simple, and obviously we all know it eventually ended in infinite which was a fricking glorified linear fps.
For a cowadooty baby though it absolutely must have been the absolute biggest degree of interactivity they ever fricking had with a game, casual minds were blown.
But nowadays, even going back to it after playing something like system shock 2 or the ss1 remake can just leave an awful fricking taste in your mouth, like your mind goes "why the frick are we here I thought we moved on from this shit"
saying the frick word a bunch of times makes you sound like a fool. take this free advice and run with it
I remember at the time, being absolutely disgusted as frick with Bioshock because I think it was one of the very first games that had an honest-to-God HUD display marker pointing you exactly where to go next, and I remember thinking it was completely and utterly stupid as balls and trivialized the entire point of a videogame.
Oblivion made me feel that way as well, but I could rationalize that as being somewhat a necessity due to the type of game it was. Bioshock however I felt had no business or excuse doing it.
Persona 5.
Outer Wilds
Lord's of the fallen
Warhammer 40k Eternal Crusade
Fallout Online: Reloaded
Overwatch
happend to me with Tales of Arise 50 hours in
>lust provoking image
Skyrim, but I still play it sometimes.
Nah Skyrim is a good game
Skyrim was pretty fun until I realized every other sidequest required me to slog through samey boring linear caves to get some shitty reward that wasn’t worth the effort
RuneScape
Bioshock
Why would i play it over system shock?
Persona 5 after I was still getting tutorial pop ups 12 hours into the game
Every Bethesda game post-Oblivion
post morrowind*
Yes with every Fromsoft game from Demons Souls onward
Genshin, I played it for 3 months or so and I can't recall a single instance of me actually having fun in this game
Immortals: Phoenix Rising. It was cool sometimes but the game was so fricking slow.
Nioh 2
Near all tomatoes
Divinity 2
Jedi fallen order? (first one, never cared to learn the name)
NuGoW

I enjoyed some games here but I can't actually disagree with you
Lol just stop playing videogames altogether at that point
Not listed are a frickton of games I love
Go play slice and dice. Best "indie" strategy game made to date by the metric of per turn meaningful decision making.
Loved rem4ake and loved original re4 back in the day but I'll never play re4 og again. I'd actually be more inclined to play umbrella chronicles rail shooter over og re4. If you haven't played even a shitty rail shooter (and they are all shitty) in a long time go play one. Any one will do. They are such a fun genre to play for a few hours once a year or so.
Sekiro, mgrr, and bayo are my favorite action games for varying reasons. Pure gameplay is not the only metric even if it is the most important. Still play and check out new ER mods as they drop. Nothing too great so far but obviously a lot of latent potential there.
Was blown away by neoTwewy. I was expecting a 6/10 game and got an 8/10. That's the power of low expectations.
Hugely optimistic about remnant 2. Looks like a massive expansion without really changing much. Got two bros who are also hyped for remnant 2.
Mon huns should probably go on the shit list tbh. Such a weird relationship with them. The grind is just too long for too little a reward. Glad wild hearts exists although I'm never playing it unless EA cuts their losses and sells it for like $20. The genre has potential but I don't like the reigning formula being mmolite.
Give me news about silksong. Also pleasantly surprised by dread. Didn't have a snes so my first metroidvania as a kid was fusion. Loved fusion and zero mission. Eventually played super and it also slaps. I can see how it was ridiculously mindblowing for its time, but I prefer the gba ones I started with. Never liked castlevania games much. Wouldn't say they suck though.
Wow anon i love your blog and your life is incredible and your personality is so interesting. Can you please frick my wife i want to raise your childrens.
>No Hollow but Ori and Blasphemous
this is how I know this list is objectively correct.
>Nioh 2
>The force awakens
homie that's a movie
Casually playing Monster Train is good until you realize Stygian + Awoken is busted. Speedrunning / racing against friends while on a call is fun.
>”Most zelda games”
Sadly true
Stealth games need to stop making you crouch walk to "activate" stealth. It is ridiculous that's still how it works now when it's based off this attack of opportunity RPG shit that did not require you to crouch in order to do that. Even Hitman has you basically do that, to the point where Hitman 2: Silent Assassin is unplayable because of how slow it is.
>he doesn't play hit man games and genocide everyone
100% correct.
just post what you do like since the list would be smaller and stop wasting our time
I think you need a new hobby if you hate every game you touch.
the crazy thing is how true this actually is lmao, I can't even acknowledge it as bait, that's how legit it is.
TF2 and BOTW.
Morrowind
filtered. I was too the first few times I played it. Then I tried again years later and it clicked.
Every single time I dropped an mmo it was because I suddenly had this moment of realization.
The disguise fell off the grind treadmill.
>quirky gamer dykes
I wonder who the creator is
Yup.
This.
>play the game
>logging in to get all weapons gets boring once getting dupes become common
>game mode locked behind having to pay each time you play
>bots
>hackers
>shitty balance
>realize the game sucks and uninstall
What a dog shit game tbh.
It was the single best shooter to frick around in and just have fun before Unusuals ruined everything...
>dupes
that's what trading is for
>game mode locked behind having to pay each time you play
the only part that's locked is the part where you get shiny bullshit items, you can just play it without a ticket for fun
>bots, hackers
don't play use valve's awful matchmaking
>shitty balance
yeah
Absolutely fricking fantastic game but holy shit, it also sucks dick
>You can one shot every boss if you're good enough holy shit that's so cool!
>....every boss is over in seconds
Always wondered why a game hasn't tried balancing Tate mechanic ever again when people love ripping the scarf
although to be fair most people are probably just riffing Kamen Rider and etc instead of specifically Shinobi because I've never seen another game make the scarf this fricking cool
How well does this emulate? I remember playing the frick out of the demo but never getting the full game.
It runs great, widescreen hacks work. Soundtrack is fricking nuts and worth it alone.
PCSX2 tries putting on a deinterlace mode but once you're in game you can turn it off, confusing
Guarantee you drop it at level 5
>Guarantee you drop it at level 5
Maybe. But I was also a huge Ninja Gaiden homosexual, so I might be ok. Tbh though, the first NG on Xbox made me ragequit at the one tank boss (level 4 I think?) After I spent a solid week dying to him that is. NG2 was also a b***h, but I ended up beating that one. Everything after might as well have been expansions for DMC.
The issue isn't enemy difficulty by level 5, it's more like "You are expected to wallrun through hallways over instadeath water, with projectile enemies in them no checkpoints"
still would rec tho
This was me after I put 14 hours into red dead 2 only to realize that I've only gotten into like 3 gunfights.
Project zomboid and half the games i play nowadays
I can't tell if I'm getting old or I just am attracted to shitty games.
You're just not getting any dopamine for solving a novel problem anymore. You feel like you've seen it before, so now it feels mundane and boring.
pretty accurate. Probably why I love the artistic games like vtmb fallout 1 and the likes.
The day Skyrim came out. Played it for about 2 hours, and I haven't touched it since 2011.
Super Smash Bros Melee.
a game's community holds no relevance over whether or not the game is fun
I loved playing Zelda 2 as a kid
I decided to try and play it again the other day and I have absolutely no idea how younger me was able to even play it more than five minutes without breaking something.
For me, it's Civ 6. Got the game as a gift when the later expansion came out and everytime I install it, I play about a half match as Teddy or Trajan and then never touch it again.
I begged my father to buy me Superman 64 when I was a small child. Never got past the first level
Oblivion, Fallout 3, Skyrim, Fallout 4.
Also, Far Cry 3+4+5+6.
I love the idea of an open world where you can go wherever you want so I'm always tempted to play these games. And when you first start it all looks so promising and inviting. But after some hours I always realize that I've pretty much seen everything the game has to offer. The gameplay is not going to change, it's simply not deep enough for that. You're going to be doing what you've been doing for the last 7 hours over and over again for the next 50 hours. You won't encounter anything that shakes up the rhythm, nothing will change, you can do everything in any order because it doesn't matter.
>I love the idea of an open world
I don't think you do lol
Oh, I do.
But there needs to be some kind of sense of accomplishment, solid gameplay or some good exploration.
Many of these games are so afraid of saying "no" to the player that they'll never restrict you in any way. That means that while I can go anywhere the game doesn't give a shit about what I'm doing. I need to feel like my actions matter in some way.
A very basic example. Have some areas that are very tough. Let me get my ass kicked trying to explore there, then return later when I'm better equipped and defeat whatever's there. That makes it seem like the hours are worth it. Something like Skyrim never gives you that feeling.
Well Fallout New Vegas does that, as do Fallout 1 and 2. You played the bad entries in the series if that's what you were looking for.
More than any of those though I'd recommend Gothic. It's jank as frick and has a lot of flaws but the exploration of the world and the way it balances freedom with difficulty is something almost no other game has ever done.
Yeah, I agree - but the thread is about games you didn't like. No reason to mention the open world games I do like.
>I want open world
>with forced progression
No. You are too autistic to like open world.
the real world is open with forced progression, open world doesn't have to mean power fantasy sandbox
Yeah, I was playing STALKER Clear Sky for the first time without any fanpatches. I couldn't get near the Agroprom Factory because it would crash. From what I've read in the crash log, it had something to do with an NPC. Clear Sky is objectively the worst game in the trillogy, so I didn't want to play the game again from the start.
MGS V
>Tried monster prom because it had good art and seemed great to have a multiplayer dating game
>its legit shit Alone, with friends it gets a bit better
i bought stardew valley, played it once and never played it again
Destiny. Took me about 500 hours and 2 DLCs to realise how little fun I was having because of the way the game is designed and maintained
Yeah your favorite game
Gunvolt. Every Inti game whose title doesn't end in Zero or ZX, in fact. Funny coincidence. It's almost like they need another studio to keep them on a leash in order to make actual good games.
Not really, often find enough positives to keep going. But I have left games unfinished because they didnt engage me at all. They just run out of steam rather than I suddenly ragequit.
Playing the FF 16 demo
XCOM
Fallout 2.
>one of the greatest rpgs of all time!!
my ass
This was my reaction 120 hours into Rainbow Six Siege
fire emblem echoes
Chrono trigger
yeah when I was playing gauntlet dark legacy earlier
nostalgia is a helluva drug
Bad opinion.
ok
at least it's not eating my quarters this time
>Black desert online
>Tera
>Lost Ark
>Blade & Soul
Every time with these korean MMOs yet I always fall for it
Halo Infinite
I played and enjoyed every other Halo game, even the shit stain we call Halo 5
But I just couldn't bring myself to finish this one
This, I was enjoying the campaign up until I finished it. The entire time I was waiting for the actual game to start.
The entire campaign felt like a Prologue chapter as they kept teasing the new big baddy.
>le endless is actually worse than the flood
>oo here the come
>oops come back for Halo 7 moron
And it's definitely gonna be Halo 7 instead of a campaign dlc like everyone hoped for, since they fired the entire campaign team.
Yeah why the frick was that? I'm in no way a Halo fanboy and only played CE and Halo 2 (since they were the only ones on PC) up until MasterChief edition came out. Then I was playing Halo every fricking night going through 3, ODST, Reach, 4 (4 was kinda ehh I recall) and when I got to Infinite I just...stopped? I don't even know why, because I don't even have a specific reason in my head but apparently there's a fricking problem there because other people have experienced the same thing.
Death Stranding
Tears of the Kingdom
Bioshock Infinite
Funny how both are braindead sequels to actually competent games.
>Breath of the Wild
>actually competent
Explain yourself immediately.
BOTW was a big step up from SS and TP, even it it had issues.
TOTK by comparison address none of that and just remixed the content like somehow taking 6 years.
>worse dungeons
>worse music
>worse combat
>worse story
>"BOTW was a big step up from SS and TP"
0/10 bait. Try harder next time.
yes, it's called rogue lineage and deepwoken
SOMA, the existencial horror angle didn't move me and the gameplay gets very boring after you figure out how brain dead the monsters truly are.
i played this for about 5 hours, went "why the frick am i playing this" and then uninstalled it
Megaman zero.
skill issue
I beat 1 2 and 3. They suck.
>beat
You didnt play them properly
Did you get a single ex skill
Lobotomy Corporation
Persona 5 Royal a 100 hours into the game
Why didn't you realise sooner?
The presentation and music fooled me
Octopath Traveler
This. Biggest waste of 80 dollars I've ever spent.
FF15, first hour was a boring fricking disaster.
Bravely Default 2.
That combat where the bosses counter everything just isn't fun and the characters and side quests were so fricking cringe that I just had to tap out like ten hours in
You should have realized before release that every trailer showed it looking like a cheap mobile game
Splatoon
Zelda BotW
Elden Ring
The Witcher 3
Persona 5 The Royal
Nier Automatan
FFXV
FF16
FF9
FFV
Zelda Tears of the Kingdom
Majoras mask
Postal 2.
I got like 6 hours in.
ff strangers of paradise
i beaten it and only had fun for a whole few minutes at the beginning
Devil May Cry
this, until you start playing for the style itself on higher difficulties the game is trash. There's no reason you should start the game, pick the higher difficulty and beat everything in a 10-15 hour campaign by spamming stinger
Octopath traveler
Team Fortress 2
Happened to me with Bioshock 1. That shit was so boring it put me to sleep MID GAME. And there are people who think 1 is better than Infinite which is absolute kino.
world of warcraft
I end up feeling that way about a lot of games I go back to. JRPGs especially. There are a lot of JRPGs I grew up with that I just can't get into anymore. Golden Sun, Star Ocean 3, .hack//G.U., Mega Man X Command Mission, Xenosaga... I mean most of these games have great things about them, but I'm less tolerant of their nonsense now. Star Ocean 3 in particular is impossible for me to play because I find Fayt and Sophia utterly infuriating. Fayt is just fricking awful, I can't fricking stand how bland he is.
Which isn't to say I hate all JRPGs from that era. I don't even hate these games. I just lack the patience to play them now. I still like Wild Arms 3, Radiata Stories, even Tales of Symphonia. But I really, really hate Fayt Leingod and he alone drags an otherwise good game down so hard that I just can't tolerate his existence at all anymore.
I know what you mean. Usually you're more interested in jrpgs that you played when you're younger, right? Being an adult means less time for games, and jrpgs are already big timesinks for the most part.
I kind of get this too. Tales of the Abyss is always one I can come back to and enjoy every few years though even though Luke starts off being a twat.
Sonic Adventure 2, about 20 years ago. Not that the game was bad but I was just sick of gaming.
I took a long break from single player games after that, I felt so depressed.
took me 2142 days but i got out
chivalry 2
Elden Ring. Took me 124 hours, two tries, and being around the capital part of the playthrough to realise.
Stardew Valley. Played it for one in-game year and then dropped it.
1540 hours into warframe. But only "nuwarframe". Most big updates for the last few years took away more good stuff than it added.
Xenogears
Elaborate please. I wanted to play this game since forever. I'm a fan of Squares early stuff.
the newest of the tales games. I forgot it's name. The one that wants to be devil may cry.
Story is worse than most jrpgs
Basically no RPG elements
Combat is "figured out" after 10 hours into the game
Trailers and early game made it look good.
Psychonauts
Actually have a nice day
every warcraft 3 map except one
dota1/2
every mobage i played except maybe idolmaster
dont let friends tell you what to play ever. ditch them and dont loo back
Destiny 2. And that was before they deleted half the game.
Juiced 2: Hot Import Nights
All Halo games. I just don't understand why this became so big and I'm a sci-fi nerd
BOTW. I had fun on the Plateau and was hyped thinking about everything that would happen on the mainland. The after exploring for a while is hit me that everything I'd done so far was the entirety of what's in the game.
Normalgays love it though, so that's all Zelda games going forward
skyrim(3 times i tried getting into it)
fallout 4
Breath of the wild
dark souls 3
darktide
FF14
TOTK
SFV
terraria
i realized that the game is actually linear as frick
like, you always kill the eye, and then the worm/brain and the skeletron, do the dungeon and kill the wall, mechanical bosses etc etc
its a fricking grind and there is little to do outside of the main thread of killing bosses in a linear route
Skyrim.
Day 1 purchase and the day I got my steam account. Even as a moronic 18 year old back then the dungeons got stale as frick, the combat sucked when being ludicrously OP wasn't a novelty anymore and the quest writing on subsequent playthroughs really shone in how fricking awful it was. And even after trying to "fix it with mods" over the next 4 or so years I gave up on it completely.
Unreal how I'll always give MW a virtually vanilla playthrough every couple of years but the desire to touch Skyrim ever again just doesn't exist within me.
This. Skyrim fricking sucks, especially if you've played Oblivion where at least the writing is a 10/10.
No idea why Skyrim became the most popular Elder Scrolls game. Every other entry is 1000x better.
I've put a lot of hours into Skyrim, but that was all fricking around with mods. Furthest I ever got in the story was some guy's head getting cut off in some city.
>41 hours in two weeks for Oblivion and counting
>can replay Morrowind every few years
>can't even bother with Skyrim even after 5 years
I gave it a replay this year, and it barely lasted 3 hours. I decided to mod it, and the further I got is 10 hours. Some skyrimgays called me a nostalgiahomosexual even though I started with Skyrim first kek.
Morrowind was made for max gameplay.
Oblivion was made for max immersion.
Skyrim was made for max meme appeal.
One of these doesn't age like the others.
Skyrim was released at the same time memes were becoming mainstream, it wasn't made with meme appeal. Take a look at oblivion's potato npcs and the dialogue in shivering isles and tell me that game isn't inherently sillier than skyrim. It was just released before meme culture took off.
Pretty much every game in 2011/2012 was made for meme appeal. Skryim, Portal 2, Borderlands 2, Saints Row The Third, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, GTA V.
All these games are worse than their predecessors. Why? They all tried their hardest to appeal to Internet culture. It worked at the time, but they've all aged extremely poorly because of it.
Saints Row 3 is a bit obnoxious but it's a really fun game.
I prefer oblivion over skyrim but I'm not picking up on the meme aspects of the game. Skyrim came out at a time when mainstreams memes were shit like "me gusta", troll face, rageface, etc. Do you expect me to believe the devs were thinking about this shit when developing the game? Skyrim sucked because it watered down RPG elements to the bare minimum
FE Fates. I had my first taste of buyer's remorse and dropped the game. Should've waited for reviews before buying
me with blue protocol after 30 hours
Armored Core. Took me about 8 games to figure that out.
Fallout 4 after 30 hours.
Same, except it was more like "Surely it can't be THAT bad, right?" and it fricking was. Good thing I got it for free, not even pirated either
For me it's because you're invincible after 10 hours no matter what build you're doing.
RDR2. I'm having trouble accepting they made a game this fricking boring. Everything is designed to take 50% longer than it should had it followed conventional videogame logic. Like, why do I have to sit through patting a dead body or skinning an animal to get the drops? Thank God I pirated this shit.
I only got the online when it was on sale and don't regret it. Hacker came in dropped me a shit ton of gold and naked women we tied up and handed to people on the server and this one woman thanked us. It was funny as hell. Rockstar games online have always been saved by the hackers shitty israeli monetization model be damned.
V-Rising.
Long ago...in the distant past I pirated Fallout 3 and took an oath. An oath to never again play a game published by Bethesda. Later I broke that oath when I pirated Skyrim on release and immediately remembered the vow I cast aside. I held true to my redoubled vow to never play another game published by Bethesda until I saw a steep Steam sale on Doom Eternal. My oath once again broken and in exchange I experienced trash. My iron vow will not be broken again, I'd rather die than ever play another game published by Bethesda. I don't care if the devs are different, they all go through the same QA teams. The structure that lets nodev morons lead production is in place for every single dev team that Bethesda publishes.
Doom Eternal is fricking trash, god.
Is it that bad?
I got it for $20 bucks not too long ago and haven't played it yet.
Classic Doom is still unironically better.
depends entirely on your tolerance for bullshit. your primary source of ammo and health are two different cinematic kill animations. if you think that putting a skill point into "increase cinematic kill animation speed" is a """"fix"""""" for this complaint congratulations, you're the target audience of doom eternal.
in order to not get this feeling: limit your playtime
seriously
we're frying our brains out and oversaturating it with the same game to the point the novelty wears off
if you cycle between multiple games you can keep playing them all forever
This shit made me realize that maybe its better that games released exclusively to Japan just stay in Japan. There's usually a good reason they didn't get an international release.
I really like the series, but Ishin is the worst game by far (maybe Kenzan's worse, but at this point, I don't care if they bring it to the West.)
>UE4 stutterfest
>forced TAA to make everything look like blurry plasticy shit
>increase the grind 100x just because
Yeah, no, it's just a shit remake. The original was fine.
This, I liked it at first, but the grind killed me about 1/2 to 3/4 through. Sub stories are my favorite part of the series and 90% of them are 10 seconds of story, grind, and then 10 seconds of unsatisfying conclusion.
Death's gambit.
You do know totk and elden ring came out in different years right?
I think it's just a joke, don't overthink it.
See
Morrowind (i'd more fun playing daggerfall, climbing through all the dungeons and one-shoting ghosts with my fists)
Yes.
Nothing about this slop was good.
Gameplay sucked
Story was disjointed due to multimedia and DLC
Open world was empty as frick
Hardly anything to do
Took me 140 hours and 3 playthroughs to realize how shit this game was. Holy frick is it bad. Should've put Square Enix in the ground, but I guess XIV money kept them alive.
wrong, the fishing was fun
too much backseating from Gladios and having to rebuy bait/lines made it unfun
should have stocked up idiot t.gladios
well they made a vr game out of it and I bought that shit so fool me once etc
Man cannot live on fishing minigames alone.
Says you.
I've been fishing in WoW for years.
Super Mario RPG
Fallout 4
Dark Souls 3
frick dbz kakarot. i was really hoping for 3D legacy of goku. i even stuck around for the terrible mouth sync up of the english dub because it was atleast funny to watch but after cell saga its just fricking still frames.
Pokémon: Scarlet/Violet
It's not like I'm unfamilar with Pokémon or had high expectations. Genuinely one of the laziest, most incompetent productions I've ever witnessed.
yes its called wonderful 101
>tons of 10/10 games that have sold tens of millions of copies
Really makes you realize that the modern games industry focuses on mindless addiction rather than fun and compelling titles and normalgays just eat it up.
i was playing a VR porn game and the phantom sense kicked in
Dead Cells
You're as moronic as the tendies. Both are great games
>open world
>great games
This meme needed to die 15 years ago.
True.
elden ring is a great game for the first couple hours. Once you hit the capital its a fricking slog, and that's where most people lost interest. the open world slop is 100% to blame for this.
capital was great, afterwards it's just boring. I even loved the sewers but a few hours into the snowy area and I was done with the game
Diablo 4.
Can’t believe I haven’t seen this mentioned yet.
>willingly playing a Blizzard game in 2023
You’re right. The funny thing is I don’t think I’ve ever liked any Blizzard game. I have no idea why I bought this turd.
>I don’t think I’ve ever liked any Blizzard game
Same. I've played Warcraft III, World of Warcraft, Starcraft II, Overwatch, and Diablo III and yet, I can't say I enjoyed a single one. Yet somhow I keep giving them my money. Diablo 4's already in my cart ready to be bought.
Blizzard had the PC market cornered in the 2000s. There was literally no competition. If you played games on PC in the 2000s, you basically solely played Blizzard games. Now they no longer have that luxury as all the other publishers put their games on PC now.
Don’t do it. It’s shit.
Diablo 3 is a fun arcade game, especially on consoles.
SpongeBob SquarePants: SuperSponge for the GBA. It was the first game I ever played and I thought it was the greatest shit in existence right up until I played Mario Advance 2 after and felt my love for the game crumble then and there.
Licensed games are typically knock-offs of much better games that they hope they can sell on the IP alone.
And it clearly works.
the ost for supersponge has some bangers though
im going through the ost again myself and they had no business putting as much effort into most of the tracks as they did
>1:10 hits and it just goes ham for no reason
>hearing this for the first time as a kid
yeah gameplay-wise it pales in comparison to other platformers but honestly supersponge was pretty dope
reminds me of that one SNES santa claus platformer where the gameplay was complete horseshit but they just went 100 on the ost as well
>1:10 hits and it just goes ham for no reason
It just turns into the main riff from Jungle Hijinx/Japes.
>Santa snes platformer
You mean Daze before christmas?
Also hi
Are you happy yet?
Yeah, I mean that's how trying out a game you don't like works
noita
inb4 "sKiLl iSsUe"
no homosexuals, a shit game with inconsistent mechanics is not my fault. my only fault is playing it for more then 30 minutes because i foolishly believed one of you morons saying the game was good.
every single nintensoytendo gaem
Every video game Ganker talked me into
Fallout 4 the 2nd time I went through it.
Elden Ring after the capital city
Dark souls 2
some troon homosexual posts a shit thread on v? all the fricking time
Epic Mickey. Thought it'd get better as it went but it didn't.
Same.
It looked pretty cool and I loved the idea behind it, but the execution disappointed me like nothing else.
What's with the revisionists and contrarians lately? Paradigm shift of a new generation of zoomers?
They want to be screenshotted.
Also, this thread seemed to attract some real bad autism
Dynasty Warriors 8
Wind Waker when I got to the fricking triforce hunt thing and had to go through some fricking endless combat gauntlet. Frick that sucked so bad
Frick that half finished piece of shit game. When they said there were 8 Triforce pieces, I was like "Oh wow! 8 more dungeons, just like OOT!" and then it was just a stupid treasure hunt in the empty ocean.
From that day on, I despised open world games and vowed never to buy another game like it.
Elite Dangerous, Dark Souls, Pokemon Platinum, Super Mario Galaxy, the original Spyro, Castlevania 64, Mirror's Edge, anything Bethesda, every metal gear game I've played, every monsterhunter I've played, every sport/fighting/racing game, every JRPG.
Just shit taste, apply yourself. If you honestly thing each and every single one of those games are all shit you are irredeemable
I played 97 hours of Fallout 4 before coming to that realization
This, except it was 560 hours before I realized the game was shit. I'll never believe Todd's lies again.
Glad at least got it on sale for $20, so I didn't waste too much money on that shit.
>it was 560 hours before I realized the game was shit
>Glad at least got it on sale for $20, so I didn't waste too much money on that shit
In the time wasted you could've learned a whole new language
https://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Wikibooks:Language_Learning_Difficulty_for_English_Speakers
Pretty much every 7th gen game I remember liking, if I go back to them today, they're all utter shit. Such a downgrade compared to any similar games that came before or after them. Truly the worst generation.
Asscreed 3
.hack series. I quit after starting the 3rd game and realizing the combat was going to be the exact same for the rest of the series
The original four suck but G.U. was way better imo.
Clock Tower 2 Ghost Head
The Beginner's Guide and The Witness. I wanted Stanley Parable and Myst and what I got was two pointless, meaningless tiresome faux-intellectual slop designed to make idiots feel smart
maplestory
wow
xiv
lost ark
sf5

GTA Online
Vampire survivors
Shadow of the Colossus.
First time a weapon broke in totk
Halfway into FFXII I thought this and have never been able to force myself through the rest of the slog. Running around cities and talking to npcs to break up the monotony of idler RPG combat—who thought this shit was a good idea?
No see anon you're supposed to play like that one autist who will spam menu abusing oil+fire spam strats and claim the game is the best rpg ever made
no
It's called breath of the gay
The frick does ToTK have to do with anything here you gigantic homosexual, stop shitflinging.
>open thread expecting cute and funny lesbian comic
>it's only video games
sad!
Nah I'm glad, Ganker proved they weren't homosexuals for once by not talking about this homosexuals garbage comic and actually talking about video games.
Good job Ganker, you make me proud for once.
GTA4
Prey (both)
Borderlands 2
Metro Last Light
XCOM 2
Chivalry
What did chivalry and GTA 4 did to you?
I just didn't like GTA4 for some reason, I just wasn't enjoying it unlike every previous GTA game
For Chivalry I don't think I need to say anything more than I played for the first time after it had already been out for five years
jet set radio
Twilight Princess
BRINK
spyro hero's tail
After 70 hours in, that launch day hype carried me pretty far.
>R6: Siege
"What if we took CoD SnD, slowed it down, and made it peekier than CS:GO?" If you like it, good for you, but you have horrible taste in not just FPS, but vidya in general
>Fortnite
Long before it became popular too. Very jarring to see my own generation like it now or even having nostalgia about "old Fortnite"
>Apex Legends
Saw it as a nice alternative to Fortnite, but no solo queue killed it for me, randoms simply couldn't play at my level. Also, EA glitched my profile so I can't play any of their games (no loss)
>Roblox
Became dog shit after they removed tickets
>Destiny 1+2
I liked the aesthetic and basic story behind it, even played the old Destiny 1 beta on my PS3 and loved it besides the floaty Halo movement, but both times I played the actual games, they both devolved into sluggish, repetitive grindfests where skill mattered less than how lucky you were, how much you were willing to spend, and how much time you were willing to devote to it like every other MMORPG-type game. Sad!
diablo 4, at lvl 60+
No because I do extensive research before committing to playing a game and thus I only play games I know I will like.
Homefront: The Revolution
I bought Homefront: The Revolution solely to run the mod that extracts TimeSplitters 2's PC port from it and lets you run it from the desktop without even running Homefront. Thanks, Steam Winter Sale. I got Timesplitters 2 and a shitty wrapper for it for like 10 bucks
This game blows. It's so fricking boring and the humor is bottom of the barrel Reddit tier writing.
I will shit into your soul, anon, do not besmirch the rock and stone
I'm sorry that your unfunny Reddit game isn't fun to play.
your nostalgic attachment blinds you to what the game has become
the devs turned the dwarves into literal wholesome chungus posi-vibes goons
you're just mad that the game is inherently socialist, so everyone contributes and everyone is supported equally, which I always thought was a nice touch when the game universe is so monstrously capitalist
what are you on about
play the game if you haven't touched it in awhile, the dialogue is all super cringe forced-positivity and they chopped all the actual banter
Each game takes about 30 minutes and most of it is spent aimlessly wandering around looking for certain rocks, it's so fricking boring. Plus it's floaty as shit and the guns aren't fun to use.
>It's so fricking boring
what's boring about it is being forced to play solo so that the shitty, toxic online players will stop fricking kicking you for not being promoted enough... or NOT spamming the stupid fricking emote enough ("you're not having enough fun by forcing this meme? get out")
then in the course of two or three solo games in a row, the bulk detonators (suicide bombers) will spawn directly on top of you or turn a corner of a tunnel into you with no warning, and instagib you and there's no way for you to avoid or survive it, ending your game session before you want it to.
oh, and that one time the level generation literally created a needle-hole sized passage in the UPPER middle of a dome-style room, totally elevated and outside of light illumination, because the tunnel that was originally supposed to be there got deleted by the dome's empty space generating over top of it.
if it wasn't for the 3D map feature, i never would've found it.
and of course:
> forced progression and forced unlocks system to force a false sense of game depth by forcing grinding
Final Fantasy 13. was just sitting there mashing waiting for STAGGER to happen and I realized how fricking awful and droll the gameplay was and that the story wasnt good enough to get you to sit through several more hours of that shit.
Street Fighter 6.
once you become integrated properly with the controls you realize how shallow the gameplay actually is due to it being homogenized for the normies and "new generation of Street Fighters". the entire game is just rock paper scissors on oki.
the World Tour experience is a bit novel though so its not ALL a complete loss.
path of exile aft hours of trying to force myself to like it cause i really liked diablo 1 and wanted to relive it

I saw great reviews for it but then dropped it after the first few fights because it seemed like it wasn't going to get more complex or interesting.
Yeah, extremely simple game aping Undertale's presentation, and it was tiring to read all the homosexual nonbinary they/them bullshit for every character.
Yeah I dropped Undertale fairly early on too now that I think about it.
I don't know why these devs bother making RPGs with bad writing and ugly graphics.
It's just too much to ignore.
Meh. The music also didn't really draw me in.
> it seemed like it wasn't going to get more complex or interesting.
that's just like, your opinion, man
Oh look it's literally the only fight anyone ever posts for the game.
Dragons Dogma
Like every time I try to play Okami. I really want to like Okami more than I do. It's so almost really really good, and it's just not.
Never happened
All of the time. Modern games aren't necessarily fun, but lure you to keep playing on the promise that it gets fun. Then it never ends up happening.
Dying Light 2
Sonic Blast.
I hate FF13 enough that I made something close to a 10k character post explaining all the things it did that were shitty, but funnily enough I dont remember at which point it came down to me, I finished the game and got all character weapons to their final form, so I kill the adamantoises something close to a hundred times to achieve that. Didnt beat all the very important Cie´th, or the giant cactuar.
And imagine this: FF13-2 is even worse somehow. And we don't talk about LR.
LR was the best of the trio.
System Shock Remastered
me 20 minutes into the witcher 3
Xenoblade 2
Gotham Knights. However, I went from "this game sucks" to "this game blows ass from a crazy straw".
Stalker and Eye divine cybermancy
Out of the games I was forced to play due to friends:
LoL
HotS
Dark Souls 2
Any Pokemon, Fakemon after the age of 14
Overwatch
RDR2, especially online
I bought a 360 and FF13 when it came out and that was the first time I ever played a downright bad game.
Just did the same thing with a PS5 and FF16 and I hope it remains alright.
Overwatch 1 and 2.
I burned my hand on the oven and put it back for some moronic reason.
reminder that the overwatch 2 devs said that they deliberately wanted to make a few characters overpowered each season in order to give each season a 'memorable identity' or some crap like that
yes, they literally wanted the game to be imbalanced
This is how all "competitive" games work now.
They make money off of skins and cosmetics. It serves the dual purpose of manufacturing a new meta to drive cosmetics sales, and also giving the devs busywork to stay employed.
Valheim
Mega Man X6
This just seems like gamer burnout &/or contrarianism the thread.
What tipped you off?
legacy of the kain: defiance. the gameplay, not the story. people like to b***h about SR 1 and 2 but defiance is next-level awful.
Octopath Traveler.
Yeah
Destiny, Warframe, Pokemon
Xenoblade 3 and especially Future Redeemed
TOTK after finishing the water temple
I love lesbian bimbo gamer girl.
Hard to believe people hailed this as the next Terraria at some point.
every Bethesda game
God of War 2018
Endwalker after playing XIV since Heavensward
>few hours in not enjoying myself
>realize it's a mobile game repackage
I played some shitty game called A Valley Without Wind for like 100 hours before suddenly realizing it's a worthless piece of garbage
Why does Ganker pretend to hate Elden Ring again, because it's recent + popular?
hehe
>Frick the blonde one
>Tie up blue haired one
>Make her watch me dominate her lesbian friend's pussy with my dick
Truly, the world was saved today.
It's her lesbian WIFE now. I'd rather frick both at the same time instead tbh
Post the one where the gut complained the apartment wasnt fricked up enough so I he put in way more fricking debris and shit all over the place.
I'd help both become mommies, with the conditiong of getting to do it analog, of course.
new world
i think i played like 15 minutes of it
Fallout New Vegas
Tales of Arise
Skyrim
Thats right I fricking said it. I liked Morrowind. I liked Oblivion, even though if felt a little dumbed down and the loading was annoying. But Skyrim, after doing a few quests and exploring a few dungeons, I started to see through the games formula and realized just how fricking shallow the game was.
Dude you just admitted to barely playing the game lol. Bethesda formula is you are a prisoner for an undisclosed reason then you're free to run around and do what you want. Skyrim is not a bad game as much as I hate Bethesda it was good for the time it came out.
Far cry 6, what a waste of money that shit was
Fallout 4
10 hours in and Im like wtf dude this shit sucks
Dropped it and never touched it again
New World

Die to boss, no checkpoint infront of said boss, walk back there EVERYTIME you want to challenge them.
>B-but muh challenge!
The boss fight should be the challenge. Not making me go all the way back to fight random goons just to give the boss another shot.
The curse status is insufferably shit, I can't believe a game so acclaimed could have such an awful mechanic.
Tears of the kingdom
Every games as a service game
I love Dota, but dota sucks
It became the game where I have more fun watching than playing
The Last of Us
Star Citizen.
I legit wanted it to be good because i fricking love space sandbox games but after 10+ years of being in development it runs like Chrischan with his pant around his ankles.
Valheim
Stranger of Paradise. I got about 6 missions in and said “wait this game fricking sucks”, closed out of it and haven’t played it again. Frick you Team Ninja. Stop making these trash Nioh Lite games.
Owlboy, i kept playing because i thought it was near the end, then the game pulled a new chapter out of its ass and i bailed
@641795043

Final Fantasy XVI

I was pissed when I found out how much cut content there was.
Dragons Dogma.

-Alien Colonial Marines
-Mindjack
-Vampire Rain
-Ninety Nine Nights
