For example MaTN argues that the shitty gunplay in FO3 is SUPPOSED to be shitty because you play as an inexperienced 18 year old so FO3 should be exempt from this criticism, when in fact the developer interviews show the team stating they were trying to make the gunplay as sophisticated as shooters like Halo or CoD. Much of MaTN's video is filled with lies like this but it's dressed up in a way to make you not think about it and assume he is 100% correct.

The appeal of Fallout 3 is that it gives you an experience on a silver platter, nothing is expected of you, the more you read into the game the less sense it makes, the key to enjoying fallout 3 is to just let it wash over you, bask in the atmosphere, go along for the ride and have fun. That's what makes it great, seething about the fact that its terrible because it isn't as good of an an RPG as NV is, is just autistic. Fallout 3 offers a different experience

I then self-gaslit myself and began to try and make sense of some of the complaints he had when I replayed through it later on with a GFWL patch to fix it. I find it funny how many people perceive New Vegas players as an invasive species of spergs, when the majority of them likely played 3 first and have never played 1 or 2. They're just 3babs who grew up into spergs.
Most game analysis videos are boring imo. The majority just give surface level analysis that you'd find on a wiki page. The only creator I found interesting was American Krogan and that was because he dismantled the israelite shit in vidya fairly well.
I enjoy Fallout 3 and New Vegas, but I like 3 more. 4's setting is okay I guess, but I've only got fifteen hours into it so far, and the characters aren't really appealing to me.

I can remember two examples.
1.) He cites the claim that "Fallout 3's writing is bad", to which his response is... providing examples of "funny" dialogue, like Moira stitching a smiley face into the player. He also cherry-picks one of Matthew Perry's worst deliveries: the dialogue where Benny is initiating sex with the female player character. Perry likely wasn't aware that this line is delivered after a fade-to-black, so it's delivered in the subdued style that imposed by the NPCs' limited facial animations. But I'm nitpicking, because the issue is that this intentionally misinterprets what is meant by "writing" to
2.) He claims that the reason that New Vegas doesn't have more dungeons isn't because of time constraints or different development priorities, but because it doesn't have anything interesting to provide the player with. He hand-waves dungeons like REPCONN, the RobCo building, several vaults, and the Mojave's caves because... he decides they don't count as dungeons. He also hand-waves the fact that many dungeons include unique weapons, which are much more interesting loot that skill books and bobbleheads. He also ignores that snow globes exist as a less imbalanced analogue to bobbleheads. He blindly assumes that Fallout 3 having hundreds of 1-point skill books littering its world is a good thing, and not a shallow distraction in place of more meaningful loot or - more importantly - quest content, which is the real reward of most of New Vegas's locations.
It's a little bit like watching people sitting in the dirt, arguing about Pokemon designs, where they never get past the >you see, thing actually had an concept behind it >therefore thing good

Hearing someone explain something in depth and use references and logic made me realize how shit FO3 was. I then self-gaslit myself and began to try and make sense of some of the complaints he had when I replayed through it later on with a GFWL patch to fix it. I couldn't come up with an answer on my own and I conceded, and this comes from someone who was introduced to the series with FO3.

Most game analysis videos are boring imo. The majority just give surface level analysis that you'd find on a wiki page. The only creator I found interesting was American Krogan and that was because he dismantled the israelite shit in vidya fairly well.
I enjoy Fallout 3 and New Vegas, but I like 3 more. 4's setting is okay I guess, but I've only got fifteen hours into it so far, and the characters aren't really appealing to me.
I find it really hard to believe those views are real.

A sad betrayal of everything he actually believed just to get an invite to a fricking Fallout 76 insider event.

I can remember two examples.
1.) He cites the claim that "Fallout 3's writing is bad", to which his response is... providing examples of "funny" dialogue, like Moira stitching a smiley face into the player. He also cherry-picks one of Matthew Perry's worst deliveries: the dialogue where Benny is initiating sex with the female player character. Perry likely wasn't aware that this line is delivered after a fade-to-black, so it's delivered in the subdued style that imposed by the NPCs' limited facial animations. But I'm nitpicking, because the issue is that this intentionally misinterprets what is meant by "writing" to
2.) He claims that the reason that New Vegas doesn't have more dungeons isn't because of time constraints or different development priorities, but because it doesn't have anything interesting to provide the player with. He hand-waves dungeons like REPCONN, the RobCo building, several vaults, and the Mojave's caves because... he decides they don't count as dungeons. He also hand-waves the fact that many dungeons include unique weapons, which are much more interesting loot that skill books and bobbleheads. He also ignores that snow globes exist as a less imbalanced analogue to bobbleheads. He blindly assumes that Fallout 3 having hundreds of 1-point skill books littering its world is a good thing, and not a shallow distraction in place of more meaningful loot or - more importantly - quest content, which is the real reward of most of New Vegas's locations.
It's a little bit like watching people sitting in the dirt, arguing about Pokemon designs, where they never get past the

Just watched this because of you mentioning it. I'm only a little over halfway through, but it's pretty damning. I never followed the hype or hate trains for any individual developers though, but I've always found it so homosexualy to make longform game reviews that have nothing to do with the game itself and instead focus on background drama and other development headaches.
