I really haven’t played games that often but I keep seeing people mention how overly easy they are compared to the past.
Is that true? I think for nintendo it’s true right?

games have always been for morons
You guys do realise games ARE for morons and always have been.
no they not
Show me your Wizardy playthrough or the final screen of Void Stranger. Just because YOU play games for morons doesn't mean everyone else does
Man, I'm playing through void stranger right now. I swear I have to sit looking at the screen for 10 minutes every other level to plan how to solve it and not run out of lives.
Don't worry too much about lives. It is a good habit to try to conserve them since you get rewarded with being able to collect crystals, but it is pretty much expected for you to run out of them eventually.
By the time you need to keep them up, you will have the knowledge and experience to do so without having to break your head over it
I've already done a void run, and then restarted and finished Gray's part, I'm playing as the daughter. I don't want to have to do another void run and then restart her part from the beginning, especially since I've accidentally restarted the run twice now because the level had the statue above the stairs by default.
>last 5 years
Try 3x longer than that.
But that's longer than OP has been alive
Games are heavily focus tested and have been for ages, it's just gotten worse. There's that infamous Valve commentary clip where they talk about a guy running in circles in the Half-Life 2 antlion maze for 30 minutes so they shortened it.
As part of my degree I've had to take UX classes and the shit you learn there is so moronic. You start big and keep reducing the scope until every single element would be obvious for even the bottom 5%, reducing overall effectiveness and pissing off average users.
Got ya bro.
i got stuck in hl2 all the time. its really just not a good game.
Cutting it was the right move. What does the little loop add to the game? All it does is punish idiots. If it doesn't make the game more fun there is no point to it existing.
>All it does is punish idiots.
Good.
I'm pretty fricking dumb, but people like this make me feel better about myself
I love politely calling someone a moron
>reducing overall effectiveness and pissing off average users
Except for the last 10 years I've seen the complete opposite, UI where nothing is sensibly grouped together and options being hidden under menus upon menus.
Why is gamers getting stuck still a problem? Everyone has access to the solution in less than 2 minutes in their pocket.
I youtube skyrim puzzle solutions bc those puzzles are stupid, takes 5 mins tho
>solution is buried in a ChatGPT generated article full of ads and affiliate links
It's ogre.
>search engine "optimization"
im not them but i imagine it's because solving a puzzle on your own feels miles better than CHEATING.
>I youtube skyrim puzzle solutions
that was pretty bold of you to confess that
they’re fricking stupid you could miss a random symbol in a dark cave and spend 10 mins looking back or just youtube it
because market research shows that is an inferior way to drive engagement and retain players, which are both important metrics for successful products. game devs aren't stupid. they could implement your solutions if they were good solutions, but they're not.
Ideally the easy difficult should be for mentally handicapped people(aka normalgays), normal for people with a brain and hard for hardcore autistics, but no one would go to such extents, it's like making 3 games simultaneously, they only bump the health and damage and call it a day
They have been since the Wii/PS3/360 generation, you're probably just too young to see the difference because you grew up with handholding design.
I don't need hard games, but it kind of annoys me how in modern games there will be a puzzle and you end up accidentally solving it in the first 5 seconds before even knowing the rules
i wanna see arc509s kick me sign restricted moves god hand run
daily reminder that its actually playtesters, playtesters are barely functioning morons when they hop on a video game to test
>gaming in 2024
>game is designed to be defeated
>dumb Black folk defeat the thing designed to be defeated
>dumb Black folk actually feel like they accomplished something to the point that they wear it like a badge of honor
>dumb Black folk brag and post about it
>dumb Black folk explain how the thing that was designed to be defeated has to be defeated in a certain way otherwise you didn't really defeat it
Yep games ARE for morons.
>games were designed to be unbeatable
Just one of many highly intelligent comments in an extremely grounded and high IQ post
Older Zelda games have easier puzzles than this.
90% of Zelda puzzles are "push block to the hole", "hit the big yellow switch", or the ever so mindbending "use the item you just got exactly how we showed you".
>90% of Zelda puzzles
Pretty much every single puzzle in games not specifically about puzzles are that way.
And yet people still get filtered by the Water Temple in Ocarina of Time.
Water Temple is badly organized, not an actual challenging puzzle like in real adventure games.
It's not even badly organized. It's painfully simple: a central hub with paths going in North/South/East/West direction over 3 floors. morons just can't comprehend thinking in the third dimension.
No one was filtered because it was hard, it's just incredibly tedious.
>only 5 years
lmao
?si=FZ25ctvh9MRPW9ik
>the last 5 years?
lmao what? try the last 15+ years. ever since the seventh gen of consoles its been for complete braindead morons.
>Companies shooting for a wider and wider market every release
>Turns out, most people are dipshits
>Accommodate them in your newest release
Why do you think games are constantly breaking records and selling tens of millions of copies in their first week regularly now?
It has nothing to do with their quality, I'll tell you that much.
post the clip of dsp playing zelda so i can laugh
%3D%3D
>cute anime girl
im not watching that shit
Watch it now
>cute
literally the name of the video you dolt
Clean up your fricking links, disgusting zoomers I swear.
but I thought girls were bad at games and puzzles
ame cute
Okay now post the Fauna white hole station montage
dsp is hilarious
ok but how? why overcomplicate a simple solution?
My favorite part of DSP is, despite being a literal puzzle for children and the game providing everything you need to solve the puzzle in a tiny room, he still blames the game
Which one? He struggles with every Zelda game
how did dsp end up solving that puzzle? did he put the balls 1 by 1 into the hole?
He glued them together, fricked it up, then accidentally succeeded by continuing to frick up.
I remember doing this exact puzzle and wondering why there were so many steel balls
Yes, if by 5 years you really mean 25.
Don't forget when him being unable to figure out where to go or what to do in some ubishit game or nu-gow or whatever was used at a game dev conference as an example of how they need to do a better job of telling the players how to play.
*snort*
I need to pay my bills
*snort*
and no one is giving tips anymore
*snort*
and I'll stop playing this
*snort*
if no one tips
*snort*
*looks at chat*
*magically comes up with solution to puzzle unrelated to looking at chat*
sony quite literally makes their games thinking of dsp
DSPKINGS, we are playing on Easy Mode tonight.
Imagine opening your eyes every morning and that's what greets you.
acting moronic is a strategy to make viewer engagement and rage at you and laugh at you and try to help the moron complete it. also gets posted around and people laugh and now know who he is for moronation.
>shroommeister still spamming garbage fake tweet threads from his phone
have a nice day
This is actual legit reason to hate DSP and want him gone
Games have gotten harder if anything since Souls proved that there is a market for not hand holding
Games stopped coming with instruction manuals telling you the controls and some tips/tricks on how to play, and as a result games have been dumbed down and tutorialized.
Games have proved what aristocrats knew about the plebs all along.
Games haven't been hard since the arcade days (with small exceptions here and there) . The devs literally didn't want you to beat them. Now it's all focus grouped to death for a larger audience.
whats the lore behind a bunch of metal balls being in a dungeon
They were left just for Link to solve at the time of the Upheaval.
>Totk trannies still seething about based DsP trashing their troony game
i dont want to say its for morons but Persona series is VERY moron proof
like, i dont play jap games that much so idk if this is cultural or not, but game does everything in its power to make sure you dont miss out on stuff and dont forget a fricking thing lol
>liz asks for cold takoyaki
>"ah I remember school lady sells some!", feels good that I remembered this lil detail
>map already has an exclamation mark
>that awesome feeling is gone
>"but wait, its not cold, maybe I can cool it in the new kit.."
>dorm already has an exclamation mark
>put it in cooler, get a reminder to pick it up tmr
>go back tmr, get a reminder to bring it back to Liz
>or that scene where im going after Aegis and game pops a notification 3 fricking times, reminding me to go after her, as pursue her in a non-skippable linear corridor
like, I was never handholded this much in my entire life I think. and combat isnt THIS moron-proof, so idk whats going on with the social side of things
at least there isnt a cat telling you to go sleep this time around
That's why I dropped P4 back in the day. I died in a dungeon and had redo a week. I don't know how people have multiple playthroughs when I couldn't even replay a small section because of how hand holdy it was
yes because making games for dumber people means more opportunity for more purchases
This was the logical conclusion of all the tardos getting filtered by first cycle in MM.
>beats IRS
>beats every streamer who's talked shit about him
>beats his meat and still streams with no issues
>makes gaming worse
how the frick does he do this shit?
>been around as one of the longest Lets Players
>channel never grows
Its actually amazing how bad he is at his job
Having a dedicated hatebase guarantees that they will always hatewatch you.
he gets like 300 viewers per stream for the last 6 years and they're mostly ESL from what I've seen
>twitter thread
>menorah candle in screen name
That's been happening since forever. Been playing some PC games from the 90s and they don't have map markers, quest logs, etc. You can die out of nowhere and it'll be your fault if you didn't save often enough
>quest logs
literally false they didnt tell you exactly where to go but there still were quest logs
y'all getting a spoon if you don't shut up
Oldgays are the biggest liars around, whatever I play an old game there's trillions of wall text explaining every function of the game, principally Pc games
Either that or literally nothing, and your inventory opens with the NumLock key or something.
Good luck figuring that shit out by chance
