I think it would be great that people would be able to play teh DLC after beating the main game like nioh rather than having to beat every single thing before
They don't have to beat every single thing before though.
They nerfed a lot of Nioh 2 stuff too. Shibata Katsuie was a gigantic filter on the PS4 release and Itsumade were even worse when they first came out. That's the one downside when you wait for the PC ports of Team Ninja's games or if you wait for all the DLC to finish before playing the game because you get an easier experience.
That's why I'm concerned about it. Itsumade in particular was heavily overnerfed while the one actual problem part was left untouched. Less damage and a little less Break damage would be fine if anything just to allow more variety, though both aren't much higher if at all compared to Chaos. But that would be all, and that can still be covered with what's in the game now.

They nerfed how often it attacks, made it stagger way longer if you burst countered it, and increased the Ki damage dealt when you broke its weak point. So it's worse than nerfing the damage and health, they changed how it feels to fight against it. The Shibata Katsuie nerfs were the same thing, they cut down how aggressive he was, nerfed the damage of his abilities that were harder to dodge, and also SEVERELY cut down the tracking on his grab.
Katsuie was like the hardest boss in both games by a large margin but they over nerfed the frick out of him.
A lot of random problem stuff got their health, damage and Ki reduced in places, I remember for sure Katsuie got the tracking on his leaping grab reduced by a ton. Itsumade used to have a much shorter gap between when his Yokai Realms would blow up so it wasn't a free full purify and when out of Ki hitting him would remove the grapple opportunity. The second being changed was reasonable, but the first not so much, and on top of that they lowered all his stats and made his weakpoint do way more Ki damage. The problem part I mentioned that got away unscathed though was that one really fast spinning move he has that also did massive damage with a giant hitbox that he doesn't always do his audio telegraph for.
how may fricking times do i have to tell you this shit. I dont personally care about valve or steam. its just more convenient ****TO ME**** to only use steam
this
people don't understand how much space all those audio files recorded in multiple languages take up, and it's all a strategy by these mega-corporations too, to create video games that take up so much storage space on peoples' hard drives, that they crowd out the competition. Everyone just has a handful of games installed for the genres / playstyles they're into, and everyone else can eat eggs.
it's a shame it hasn't become standard on PC to require selecting which languages you want to download
i can only think of a couple games that allow that, and sure as hell most of them aren't japanese and jp games are some of the biggest offenders of having 50gb+ games where 30gb is the fricking languages
It used to be standard, but modern devs don't give a shit or even see it as a plus to make their games frick huge since it means you won't install as many other games.
Playtime comes down to the player, you can rush through it if you want to ignoring all the jobs and sidemissions but you'd be barely scratching the surface of the game which wants you to experiment and explore all the options you get to use while learning all the fun stuff you can do to bosses. I've gotten 10 times that time so far and have a lot left in the DLC.
You'll probably have to wait till next year, but it'll undoubtedly come to Steam after the DLCs are all finished as a Definitive Edition.
Hopefully the devs can work on optimizing the game before then too.
Chaos/Garland does tell the FF1 party when they meet him in the past that his eternal timeloop rests on killing them in the past
This implies that he has beaten them many times in the past. Your playthrough of FF1 is when the Warriors of Light actually manage to beat Chaos
I pirated it.
Haven't gotten around to playing it yet though.
No, I will not download the Ebin Game Store.
Fricking exclusives are cancer to the game's industry and I will NOT support that bullshit, especially on fricking digital storefronts, console exclusives are bad enough already.
so I gave the demo a try on PS4. Fun gameplay for sure, but it ran terribly. Is that just the demo? Does the full game on PS4 run decently? Because it doesn't look like anything that should be pushing it.
/v/ >heh IGN sucks, journos are shit, dont believe their lies, they just shill games
also Ganker >heh this game is quoting fans and people that actually played the game, why arent they quoting important journos?
quoting a random twatter is current year's version of quoting a random blogger
remember when they did THAT shit? >"THIS IS THE MOST EPIC HARDCORE GAME I'VE PLAYED THIS YEAR!" -xXxXxXxthebeastboyunleashedxXxXx, gamespot contributor
On one hand it's nice that they are actually trying something else, but on the other hand the game looks like a dumpster fire. Squeenix just doesn't have what it takes anymore to make good games.
All yall homies complaining that the game's not on Steam better actually buy it when it comes to Steam. These threads are always dead as frick cause nobody here actually has the game to talk about it.
They're just gonna complain that it's $60 when it goes to steam or something about regional pricing because half of Ganker is from some 3rd world country that can't afford anything.
Yeah because no game has a right being $60 a year after release especially some piece of shit that got critically panned and has no redeeming qualities other than people saying "CHAOS" for the 1 millionth unfunny time. That's not called being poor that's called not being israeliteed by Square Enix. I bet you buy KT and Bamco shit at full price too you moronic paypiggy.
>no redeeming qualities >best gameplay of any final fantasy game >simple, coherent and fun story that almost seamlessly ties all other games to it >good writing
You haven't played the game and it shows.
>Makes a game that tricks you into thinking it's a dumb action game with a forgettable dumb oaf of a protagonist >Journos play it and talk about how campy it is because they didn't actually care to see the final hour of the game >the final hour of the game is about how garland, who is basically a getter robo protagonist, played fricking 5d antihero chess and used everyone for his dastardly plan of saving the world, fully ready to sacrifice himself for the greater good, all to save cornelia. >not only is the ending the saddest, rawest climax of any final fantasy game, it might be one of the best climaxes in videogame history.
>trials of bahamut dlc comes out >it's set to the hardest difficulty, chaos mode >game journalists don't want to play it because MUH DIFFICULTY >refuses to back down, forces you to play the even harder mode for a plot that is basically just "garland beats WoL's ass over and over while bahamut laughs in the distance" >Refuses to elaborate >Leaves
I'll get it when it hits Steam, IF it hits Steam. Probably on sale with the ludicrous price FFVII-R was. Now, Square, where the frick is Kingdom Hearts.
>He thinks a good game could get GOTY in the same year of Elden Ring.
Far too many Fromdrones and npcs. You'd need a sneaky BotW2 release if you wanted to see a chance. Not that BotW was even worthy back then but it'll be the only thing with enough Nintendy mindless pull to compete.
I'm playing the dlc. I wish the base weapons got new action abilities and I wish there was proper new levels. There also should be a way to permanently learn weapon skills. I'm using deist dragoon and knight of destiny. I'm pretty much an immortal parry god with knight and boost jump wrecks everything.
So how is the DLC? I really enjoyed playing hard mode but I can't get into the grind of chaos mode, it seems like just a repeat of hard mode (since you drop armor that makes the difficulty even out) but having to play each mission 20 times or something
Can I just restart the game and go through the dlc in hard mode without ever switching to chaos?
No you need to play the DLC in Bahamut mode I think. But they give you a new thing called 'Extra Mode' which allows you to play any level with infinite chaosbringer. This allows you to essentially be invincible (with the right job affinities) and able to spam spells and abilities endlessly. You can then really easily get to level 400 and go from there.
No, when the morons at squneenix decide to release it on steam I will buy it. I don't know how those morons have made every wrong decision in releasing this game.
I've just started playing this yesterday, the combat is nice, but the story is just so fricking bad lmao, basically the game is only worth playing for the combat
I've never played FF games before, is this the standard?
Lol did they seriously just quote some random twatter?
a sure sign that the game is garbage
Just when I though this game couldn't get any more based
>homosexual Journos? No, we value the opinions of the fans
This. If a journalist praises a game then you know the game is going to be shit.
lol
>"SOLID ACTION GAMEPLAY"
Truly something you wanna put on your marketing...
>He doesn't know Anvex123
That's pretty fricking funny, especially since it's a bot account too
Kek
considering the game itself thats fricking hilarious
fricking lol they went so far over being edgy/campy it actually became funny
Lol this is actually the hardest I've laughed in awhile.
Chaos did this
they've been doing that for all their terribly selling games, NEO:TWEWY too
probably because no journalist said anything good enough to quote
>Lol did they seriously just quote some random twatter?
The absolute state of Square Enix.
True GIGACHAD energy.
I have indeed, and am deathly afraid that they'll nerf the DLC in the worst ways possible because so many people are getting filtered hard by it.
I think it would be great that people would be able to play teh DLC after beating the main game like nioh rather than having to beat every single thing before
They don't have to beat every single thing before though.

What did they nerf, damage and health? I only played the complete edition.
They nerfed how often it attacks, made it stagger way longer if you burst countered it, and increased the Ki damage dealt when you broke its weak point. So it's worse than nerfing the damage and health, they changed how it feels to fight against it. >30% off
can't find it on steam tho?
Use a non shit store
>owning a Playstation
use a real system for Gamers
Looks like he is.
>sony
>NOOOOOOOO IT HAS TO BE ON STEAMMMMMM
Grow up, child.
how may fricking times do i have to tell you this shit. I dont personally care about valve or steam. its just more convenient ****TO ME**** to only use steam
I like to use proton.
>@anvex123
who?
I respect Jack and trust him implicitly
Every morning, I vow to knock down all obstacles that stand in both my way and his way
I was thinking of getting it, it's $40 currently but why is it an 80GB game? Isn't it only like 20-30 hours of playtime?
>but why is it an 80GB game?
bad optimization.
Half of it is audio in different languages
this
people don't understand how much space all those audio files recorded in multiple languages take up, and it's all a strategy by these mega-corporations too, to create video games that take up so much storage space on peoples' hard drives, that they crowd out the competition. You are mentally moronic.
I have 4.5 TB SSD space and a 1TB SSHD.
Stop being poor.
Playtime comes down to the player, you can rush through it if you want to ignoring all the jobs and sidemissions but you'd be barely scratching the surface of the game which wants you to experiment and explore all the options you get to use while learning all the fun stuff you can do to bosses. I'm at like 70 hours for it, I'll drop more once the other DLCs are out. Maybe a bit before then to do some missions to uncap some of my job levels.
if you remove japanese audio (like most pirated rpps did) it comes down to 35gb
Because no one compares about optimization besides Nintendo in this day and age anymore since they fall back on the crutch of "we'll just patch it"
>Quoting fans instead of journos
No Steam no buy
You'll probably have to wait till next year, but it'll undoubtedly come to Steam after the DLCs are all finished as a Definitive Edition.
Hopefully the devs can work on optimizing the game before then too.
just raped this motherfricker
feels good
Wait how does this work? Warrior of Light is supposed to beat you
Chaos/Garland does tell the FF1 party when they meet him in the past that his eternal timeloop rests on killing them in the past
This implies that he has beaten them many times in the past. Your playthrough of FF1 is when the Warriors of Light actually manage to beat Chaos
You know he died on purpose?
I pirated it.
Haven't gotten around to playing it yet though.
No, I will not download the Ebin Game Store.
Fricking exclusives are cancer to the game's industry and I will NOT support that bullshit, especially on fricking digital storefronts, console exclusives are bad enough already.
Who gives a frick, play your pirated games and shitpost less
Holy frick what is it with boomers now, everything has to be some grand social crusade
>Who gives a frick
I do, we need more sane people talking and less random morons like you who just eats shit from Timmys ass.
Do I ever get the ability to equip more than 2 jobs at a time? There are 4 or 5 that I really want to main.
Nope, but you can swap whenever you want and can make presets too.
>your Ganker post will never be quoted by a major video game publisher
Just waiting for the price drop, loved nioh to bits and this will tie me over until chink nioh drops
so I gave the demo a try on PS4. Fun gameplay for sure, but it ran terribly. Is that just the demo? Does the full game on PS4 run decently? Because it doesn't look like anything that should be pushing it.
When it comes to steam I will
Yes. I have the Platinum. Waiting for all the DLCs to be out to see if I want to get the Season Pass
I'll be glad to buy it at full price when it's on Steam.
Not on Steam yet so no
>quoting players instead of journos
THIS GAME IS JUST FRICKING BASED IN EVERY POSSIBLE WAAAAAAAAAY AAAAAA
I like how blatantly the shills tried to force this game as being good in an ironic "it's so bad it's fun" sense.
/v/
>heh IGN sucks, journos are shit, dont believe their lies, they just shill games
also Ganker
>heh this game is quoting fans and people that actually played the game, why arent they quoting important journos?
Why add 1 random quote like that
NEW KING
Actual awesome explanation. Embrace the camp bros. We are going home.
You mean Stray? Yes I have, multiple times
>cat walking sim
IT'S NOT A WALKING SIMULATOR, IT'S AN ADVENTURE PLATFORMER
Not. A. Platformer.
quoting a random twatter is current year's version of quoting a random blogger
remember when they did THAT shit?
>"THIS IS THE MOST EPIC HARDCORE GAME I'VE PLAYED THIS YEAR!" -xXxXxXxthebeastboyunleashedxXxXx, gamespot contributor
heh
no steam no buy that is all
>Advertisement for the game quotes some random twitter troony
Literally worse than movie marketing.
I have, but I'm going to hold off on the DLC even though I enjoyed the game.
I've attempted to but the game is so fricking unoptimised that it brings my CPU temp up to 100 degrees.
>beat game twice on Hard and Chaos mode
>still need dozens of attempts per boss in Bahamut mode
I still don't know how to play this game
you turn it off and play an actual final fantasy game
FF spinoffs regularly btfo the mainlines, sorry.
>regularly
We havent had a good Squeenix game in over a decade smoothbrain.
And we haven't had a good mainline game in that time either. How can you have this bad reading comprehension?
yeah I have elden ring
On one hand it's nice that they are actually trying something else, but on the other hand the game looks like a dumpster fire. Squeenix just doesn't have what it takes anymore to make good games.
>When your game is so shit your paid shills have nothing nice to say so you have to use a tweet from literally fricking who for your advertising
LMAO
VEESINGS Black person I SUMMON THEE
Team ninja game no coomer costumes for Neon no buy
All yall homies complaining that the game's not on Steam better actually buy it when it comes to Steam. These threads are always dead as frick cause nobody here actually has the game to talk about it.
I can promise you I'll buy it when it does.
Would have been a day one if not for Epic Chink Store.

You haven't played the game and it shows.
Nobody's going to buy this absolutely generic, worthless piece of trash.
It has zero value.
did they fix the crippling performance issues yet
FF15 is unironically better
CHAOS
>they have to quote a random twitter troony
lol what a flop
well deserved considering it's a chink store exclusive
Finally squeenix are putting FFXIV sub money to good use
>Makes a game that tricks you into thinking it's a dumb action game with a forgettable dumb oaf of a protagonist

You forget the part where there's only 2 new bosses and you're just expected to play old maps over and over again as number goes up.

Yeah got it on Friday, played the first 2 main missions thus far. pretty fun
test

Would be if they didnt make that dlc-patch, but if its possible to win it ,would be my goty to shit on elden morons and reddit
No, when the morons at squneenix decide to release it on steam I will buy it. I don't know how those morons have made every wrong decision in releasing this game.
XC3 hasn't released yet.
