I need to get back into it, I've just been busy. I love what I've played so far though. It's really satisfying to get lost and succumb, and try again using what you've learned even if that game is brutal as hell. It feels like there's just a lot of different shit to interact with throughought the game.
I'm also just a sucker for anything with a strong, oppressive sense of dread and wrongness.
Gave it a shot until I learned saving has a 50% chance of failure. I like hard games but only play an hour or two a day, don't waste my time, I got a life. It's not worth the trouble, I don't want to eat shit and figure out how to progress, only to lose it all when I save afterwards. My time is worth more than that.
You still have to flip a coin and can fail but you just don't get ambushed if you fail. You can simply leave the room and come back. The room with the bookcase door is really easy to clear out and sometimes doesn't even have a guard.
Okay, who you gonna play for your first playthrough? For me it's a toss up between doctor and engineer

Just picked this game up, and it's cool so far. I love the atmosphere and the unfair difficulty isn't as bad as I expected (based on the 3 year old obscure youtube reviews). There seems to be alot of opportunities to save, and the constant dying feels like trial and error because there's a lot of different options to try if an attempt fails.

Same anon. All I could find in terms of youtube are cringy small channels, and I mentioned that they were old vids because the current build of the game seems to have some minor QoL improvements. Many of the vids show hard restarts of the game, but I've found easy save opportunities early on. There's also currently 3 difficulty modes, though I don't know what they affect.

Fear and Hunger is the base difficulty according to anons who played earlier builds, despite listing itself as for beginners. Terror and Starvation is largely the same, but features additional enemy placements, faster depleting hunger/sanity, and extra bosses/scenarios at certain endings. Hard mode lives up to it's moniker, as there are no saves, no recruitable allies outside of Necromancy, and unique conditions to get the S ending for each character. Outlander and Dark Priest are disproportionately hard compared to knight and merc.

Loved how Enchant Farm effectively took Pokemon to its logical furthest developed point with effectively 4-man battles that depend on rotation for positioning, extreme reliance on type matchups and weapon switching, and the exploration component which of course makes your first playthrough the most interesting, but subsequent attempts fun to refine.
It's not just one of the best RPG Maker games I've played it's better than a lot of other RPGs out there. Also Stone I is a cute. Well most of the magic personifications are cute.
I finished that a few weeks ago. Yamicchi didn't deserve any of that shit. The fight at the end was amazing though. Still haven't gone through the sequel yet but I plan on it.

I don't think the mod has anything to do with Termina. Terminal doesn't even have children unless you count whatever is in Pocket Cat's bag. The real answer is unironically single indie dev pls understand. He gets bits and pieces of help on small details like soundtracks here and there but he largely works on it himself. I think the last update regarding progress was that he was considering outsourcing testing for bugs to his discord, as the game is completely playable start to finish and he just wants to polish it so that it's not as broken as the original was on release.

This is new, where did you hear it? Also the cheesing strategies sounds a little dumb to get rid of unless they're glaringly obvious. Even the final release of the original has cheese, no need to patch the fun out of the game according to play testers who have been following the internal workings of the development and have a better grasp than any normal player would.

Sounds like the opposite, since Termina is easier than the original so bringing it closer to that difficulty will mean a harder game. However, the original also had Empty Scrolls to break the game unlike Termina.

Thats why i cheat the game at the start to give myself the running skill and scrolls of enlightment
You get 1 free save at the start in the crow room, if you kill all enemies in the area in the early game, you don't have to flip a coin
You still have to flip a coin and can fail but you just don't get ambushed if you fail. You can simply leave the room and come back. The room with the bookcase door is really easy to clear out and sometimes doesn't even have a guard.

I don't think the mod has anything to do with Termina. Terminal doesn't even have children unless you count whatever is in Pocket Cat's bag. The real answer is unironically single indie dev pls understand. He gets bits and pieces of help on small details like soundtracks here and there but he largely works on it himself. I think the last update regarding progress was that he was considering outsourcing testing for bugs to his discord, as the game is completely playable start to finish and he just wants to polish it so that it's not as broken as the original was on release.

This is new, where did you hear it? Also the cheesing strategies sounds a little dumb to get rid of unless they're glaringly obvious. Even the final release of the original has cheese, no need to patch the fun out of the game according to play testers who have been following the internal workings of the development and have a better grasp than any normal player would.

Sounds like the opposite, since Termina is easier than the original so bringing it closer to that difficulty will mean a harder game. However, the original also had Empty Scrolls to break the game unlike Termina.

You should start on the normal difficulty first before you decide to try the harder difficulty.
Yeah, beat the game after about 30 hours. Was pretty good, never went back to try again for the different endings though.

It's a byproduct of failure used exclusively to add to the grim and horrific setting. It's about as sexual as drywall.
It's pretty sexual in a good way, most of it is through failure but some of it is pretty rewarding. Also you should consider getting new friends who aren't normalgays.
The mod that allows you to play as Griffith as the MC is the only way to play this game. Imagine not wanting to play as a winner.
I like the mod for a different reason but Griffith is pretty based.
