>Haven't played Stellaris since 2018 (see pic)
>Saw that there was a sale on Paradox games
>Saw that there was a release for new Stellaris DLC somehow, fricking 6 years later
>SAW THAT THERE IS $100+ IN DLC I DON'T HAVE WHILE IT IS 50% OFF
HOW THE FRICK HAVE THEY MADE THIS MUCH DUCL?
WHY THE FRICK HAVEN'T THEY JUST MADE STELLARIS 2?
Is ANY of this DLC worth it? It basically all has negative to mixed reviews except like 1, and I saw that the newest DLC uses AI slop so it can be even cheaper. What the frick happened? In 2018 it wasn't so bad, there was like 2 DLCs and some useless cosmetic packs. What the flying frick.
Paradox released DLC for one of their games? no way man, this is unheard of
I don't follow Paradox too much, I knew they were infamous for DLC but I was just absolutely stunned that a game this old is just infested with DLC including A NEW FRICKING SEASON. Is Stellaris 2 just never gonna come out?
I almost think you guys are making fun of me instead of sympathizing with me...
Nah, man, I admire your ability to notice and bring attention to a unique and worrying situation that has somehow escaped the spotlight. This should be THE biggest issue for players of Paradox games and it's shocking that it's gone over the radar for so long.
>Saw that there was a release for new Stellaris DLC somehow, fricking 6 years later
surprising, it never happened before with paradox
>SAW THAT THERE IS $100+ IN DLC I DON'T HAVE WHILE IT IS 50% OFF
incredible actually, how could paradox do this to stellaris specifically, they've never done it before but all of a sudden they do this dlc shit with stellaris
despressing
I've been running a campaign the past few days. But I've also been buying the expansions this whole time. Frickers got me.
The game must have changed fricking massively since I last played, it is almost worse going back to it since everything I remember is likely changed. Also everyone is just so pessimistic in all of the reviews for the DLC to the point where I feel like I should just play it with what I have or go pirate it.
Just fricking pirate it
you first
I've been playing a pirated version all night. The game is actually pretty good now. I haven't played in years but I like the changes they've made.
Did they fix the whole 'game turns into a slideshow at high level of population' issue?
No idea, haven't gotten that far yet
Once the first crisis hits your game will start to chug at max speed.
Just get the dlc for "free" bro.
Strange indeed, paradox is well known for refusing to release dlcs for their games
i have been looking at stellaris but they are delusional if they think i'm paying 200+ (on sale btw) for the full game. hard pirate
Buy the base game for like $10 for easy access to the workshop then use creamapi for all the DLC
This works for all paradox games
Then just buy the base game and 1 or 2 of the really game changing expansion?
or cream api?
also
>methods of penis enlargement that actually work?
Look up how to use cream API. Alternatively, just get the DLC 9.99 pass for a month, because I guarantee that's about how long until you get bored and drop the game for a couple years.
I pirated a paradox game from gog once. Europa IV. Never again. It had over 70 seperate installers for all the dlc I had to do one at a time. I think Stellaris only has like 20 so it would be as bad.
Wouldnt be as bad*
>using GOG versions
Yeah frick that. Just find a fitgirl repack.
You paid for the DRM free experience though
Not only have they made piles of DLC they have overhauled almost every base game system, not always for the better (the main negative change being the removable of choosing FTL method, everybody is locked into hyper lanes now until you unlock jump drives as an end game tech)
>the main negative change being the removable of choosing FTL method
This was literally over 5 years ago, it's time to move on
>(the main negative change being the removable of choosing FTL method, everybody is locked into hyper lanes now until you unlock jump drives as an end game tech)
not recent
>hyperlanes got buffed with hyper relays
>wormholes are now strategic spawns
>gateways can still be built they're just more expensive now
>quantum catapult just ignores all that bullshit
Of all the things to complain about you choose FTL travel? There are other things you could actually criticize, like how boring the endgame is if you're not trying to win via conquest.
Fans of Paradox games don't care. I have a buddy who spends 90% of his free time playing Stellaris and Vicky 3. He buys every new DLC before he even knows what it's about. Shit is kinda sad, but to him Stellaris is ghe best game ever made.
Thankfully I have a friend who pays for every Paradox dlc and we play together so I always have access to dlc without paying a cent for them.
? Never played a paradox game before?
The vast majority isn't super impactful, there are really only 2-3 that are really important. Never understood why people get so ass bad of paradox releasing what amounts to actual expansions to their games which you don't even need to buy in order to access 90% of the games content. If some strategy game from the 90s or 00s had over a dozen expansions every Ganker poster would be calling it "le based 90s kino that just isn't made anymore"
Newest dlc is basically expansion sized like Utopia and also very good. Should make more dlc like this but they have already shown what's coming rest of the year and looks like the overpriced slop of the previous 3 dlcs unfortunately.
