>go to fricking gamestop >smells like feet and Black person kids >display controllers all broken >funko pops everyfrickinwhere >board games 2x the price anywhere else >used controller in a bag that was probably dropped in a toilet >that guy who stands next to the counter rambling nonsense and making the employees uncomfortable >tweaker having a shit fit because he's getting 37 cents for his (stolen) FIFA 13 game
last time i went to eb games was a few years ago, looking for a copy of dq11. cashier told me they didn't have it, and after that point i either just bought games digitally, pirated them or bought physical copies through amazon
I don't own any modern consoles and they don't have pc games anymore so no point.
I went to a half price books store that still had retro shit which was cool. Only thing that interested me was catherine on the ps3 though.
I only go to the local mom and pop shop for retro stuff. Basically everything else is digital only unless it's something physical I want on switch and then it's Amazon.
The CEX closed and that was the very last one near me. I'd have to go downtown to the weeb plaza to pay for physical games at the worst fricking prices on earth.
They're 50% Funko Pop stores now. Physical media died due to games requiring patches, that was something places like GS have no control over. What they did have control over was the inventory they stocked in lue of and they chose poorly. Should've opened up to retro used games, offered superior console deals, more PC hardware & accessories, and better collectables.
I haven't been to a store in close to 10 years.
Entertainment? Digital.
Food? Delivered.
Essentials & non-essentials? Delivered.
The only time I leave the house is to eat a monthly dinner with friends, treat family to dinner, or buy weed (which I order ahead).
Being a wizard has never been easier.
Gamestop should get into the PC. There's one microcenter here that's constantly packed. Start selling video cards and Ram. Locals WILL go to a brick and mortar to get stuff like that.
Will physical media have a resurgence one day?
only if people have a reason to turn to it again. the cause would not be pretty in most cases.
Just about every place to buy games in my town is long gone or on it's way out. Only CeX is left.
whats your local smell like? mines the usual body odour with the occasional bit of vomit
Literally the only benefit it would have is saving drive space, but then you still have to install fricktons of stuff for new games to work anyway.
I don't even leave to get food
I promise you that I still would if they sold anything I wanted to buy.
They have pretty much all closed down around me. I still go to music stores.
The frick's wrong with that guy's neck? Swan looking homie.
You fricking wish you could put away fresh fish like that guy can.
Underrated
I go, but i don't actually buy anything.
There's not a single "game store" within 60 km where I live
When I want to buy a physical game I usually just go to Best Buy.

for me it was seeing all the old games being 10 percent off of 59.99. oh boy
Never been to a game store before, that was before my time.

>>he doesn't physically go to game stores anymore
>where dat beep comin from

Yes I do

>CEX closed
That's grim lad. I always enjoy going in to them and looking at the PS2/PC sections.
I don't go anywhere that requires a car, driving is scary
gamestop didnt even have any boxing day/week sales for new switch games. frick them.
i walk over to gamestop whenever i need a steam card but thats all
Gamestop keeps ruining cases with their gigantic stickers. Better to just order online if you're interested in physical.

Blame Valve
Last time I bought a physical pc game in-store, it turned out to be a cardboard disc and a steam key
There's hardly any around me nowadays. Also, they only have like one wall of games and the rest of the store is just funko pops and other bullshit.
