I wonder if you could actually trick someone into believing this. Maybe someone who never came within 10 miles of a CRT and thinks floppy disks are just video game save icons.
Emulation is for zoomers and brown people. I play on oeiginal hardware only because I want the experience the game was designed to give. No compromises.
Why do people fellate CRT-Royale so much? If you want a true CRT retro feel, the shaders that properly simulate component or s-video are more accurate.
I think base CRT royale looks kinda butt.
I like the more crisp look of xm29, plus there's no screen curvature moronation or overzealous bloom, even if you can change both of those in the settings.

any examples?

>Why do people fellate CRT-Royale so much?
Because CRT-Royale can look like composite and s-video if you want it to. Also, the preset in OP is supposed to simulate a NEC XM29 PVM, which is a professional monitor used by game devs at the time.
>another crt shill thread
are you pretending you don't
I'd turn down the opacity on that filter just slightly but otherwise that's exactly how I've emulated games for over a decade.
Which shader do you use?
Yes. I'll gladly rip my own games to a PC or even pirate over paying 50 smackers for the equivolent of a nintendie cucking.
>clean crisp image
vs pure eye-cancer
crt is a dumb meme
Is this really all that's worth playing on the PCE/TG CD? Am I missing anything?
Star Parodier is a really fun, albeit easy shmup
I know the PCE/TG16 is to shooters as Neo Geo is to fighting games, didn't know that carried to the CD as well.
Crush pinball
Rusty, which is a Castlevania clone.
>PC-9800シリーズ
I don't think that's PC Engine CD
More like Crusty, like my pants after playing this game
Ys 1-2
Ys 3
Ys 4
Exile
Exile 2
Dungeon Explorer 2
Download 2
Sylphia
Spriggan
Spriggan 2
Super Air Zonk
Sapphire
NEXZR
Star Parodier
Nope, and you actually have a few too many shit games there.
PCE is such a fricking meme.
Soldier Blade
How come on TV it used to look great but with filters it looks like a blurred mess?
>intentionally blurring picture quality
is there a group more autistic than CRT gays?
they're even worse than speedrunners
Both of these screenshots are from an emulator
whoa
kek
>crt is so good it physically changes the font on the hud
emulator bros... we got too wienery
I wonder if you could actually trick someone into believing this. Maybe someone who never came within 10 miles of a CRT and thinks floppy disks are just video game save icons.
>floppy disks
holy.....

why are you yelling at clouds?
>CRT master race
That filter looks so good. It even renders the RGB subpixels. I really want a version of that that can fit in a 1280x800 screen.
even on a 1080p it looks kind of crummy
which filter is this?
It's CRT royale xm29 plus
I think base CRT royale looks kinda butt.

How to into CRT Royale for emulators
Learn to use retroarch.
You can also use Reshade, but I think everyone agrees Reshade looks like butt, even the CRT royale preset.
Also the specific CRT royale branch being used in these screenshots is xm29plus or just regular xm29.
retroarch
unless you wanna install reshade on every single standalone emulator you have, and even then the selection's not as big
nightly or stable
>It's CRT royale xm29 plus
based, thankyou
>CRT royale xm29 plus
It's not though.
Looks completely different.
It is, it even has the disgusting pink tint that the original xm29 preset has. You have to remove it manually.
I emulate on my Wii and Xbox via component to my CRT
Ok but seriously, what filter is that?
No idea, I'm currently trying to find out. Might be CRT Royale or something. https://emulation.gametechwiki.com/index.php/CRT_Shaders
You're doing gods work anon
Thanks man. I want to say it is CRT Royale.
>the shaders that properly simulate component or s-video are more accurate
any examples?
I'm not looking for and maintaining an old TV with old hardware just so to replay a game I already beat 20 years ago
>he filters
I emulate and play on CRT
>Still no xm29 shader for reshade
what a shame
I wish it wasnt just retroarch that had the best shaders
Nice black bars loser

What filter is this? Link?
Gimme a reshade xm29 shader.
>not consuming retro Ganker and Ganker content using a CRT filter for max comfy
raw pixelgays and bilinear filtergays OUT
how?
retroarch has a rudimentary media player
what filter do you use and in what player?
>not consuming retro Ganker and Ganker content using a CRT TV for max comfy
I don't have any friends or family members to help me carry a CRT into my house, sorry bro.
>he pays for 20+ old games
