He knew what he was doing. He knew 1000 years away was a long time and the problem wasnt immediate

He knew what he was doing
He knew 1000 years away was a long time and the problem wasnt immediate
He knew that despite this, no one would bother to fix the problem
He knew the energy 'crisis' would be pushed back again and again until everyone forgot about it
He knew telling The People that it was necessary despite being dangerous would get him ridicule
He took on the burden, knowing how he'd be viewed as an idiot, despite it all and got shit done anyway

I think Roses's only flaw is not trying to reach out to smart people who could ease the population into the idea instead of just pulling the rug out from under everyone suddenly. The only problem with the plot of SwSh was being TOO subtle

Nah. He was an evil capitalist businessman who wants to monopolize the energy industry by forcing everyone to focus on a single energy source instead of finding safer and longer lasting alternatives. "Muh 1000 years problem" is just a front, a marketing ploy to validate his claim and to create panic. When his plan failed, he pass on other people to clean up his mess. He let himself being caught by the authority was also a last ditch publicity stunt to at least save his face and reputation in the wake of his massive failure. He is Jeff Bezos of Galar. He is Elon Musk of Pokemon World. He is a correct depiction of a selfish 1% that makes up this god forsaken world

id maybe believe this if free energy in Galar didnt skyrocket after catching Eternatus. Where's the profit when you can go outside now, jab a hole in the ground and gain as much energy as you need and then some?

What exactly was the problem though? They don't get dynamax anymore so what? Piers was just fine

they use dynamax energy to power everything, not just dynamax battles

So plain old electricity just doesn't exist in galar? Also the protagonist canonically caught Eternatus so why is there no blackout

electricity exists but again, dynamax energy powers Galar. They'd have to hook up a shitload of pikachu to keep the country going nonstop. Or they could just wield Eternatus.

Catching Eternatus isnt going to seal all its energy. Theres enough coming off of it to increase output by like 10? I forget the exact increase but you get a shitton more after catching it

      >Piers was just fine
His city was a shit hole and no one spectated his gym battles because it lacked the spectacle of dynamaxing.
Rose is still moronic because every other region doesn't have dynamax but still has tourism.

So wait, how long did they have enternatus captured? Was it recently or for 3000+ years?

    >The only problem with the plot of SwSh was being TOO subtle
The only problem is the plot was inconsequential to any part of the game. The box legendaries showed up at last minute after only being present for like 5 seconds at the beginning. Anytime a major story event was happening, another character would say "OH LOL DON'T WORRY GO DO GYMS". Crown Tundra had more of a developed plot than the entire main game.

Literally Rose decided on the day of the big match to delay it when you should pen it for next week.

Heck, the next day even. Literally that was the only problem. You had 1000 years and you chose a day booked way ahead of time by yourself to mess with an Elder God.

Understandable if 1000 hours, but not 1000 years.

He wanted fame and glory, the same kind that he failed to achieve in his own journey. This is why it had to be during the league and this is why his battle starts somber but he gets more excited as it goes along. The problem is, the writing is so unbelievably shit it never conveys this properly

    God, I despise Rose.

This guy represents the amount of missed potential in this game.

    The idea of
    >Man wanting to do good thing, but not out of kindess, but personal gain masqueraded by it
Could make for a really interesting villain, but he does nothing.

He summons Eternatus, loses it, then gets dabbed on by any and all fire types.

For fricks sake at least give him a fight where he has eternatus on his team.

    cool battle theme though
