The real time related question is how the hell dream zanarkand works. Time isn't slow there, because of what we know regarding the timings of Jecht's disappearance and his journeying and whatnot. But if the inhabitants of dream zanarkand are based on memories of the real people who used to live there... how does this work? Tidus had a childhood and grew up, but he's also Shuyin from thousands of years ago? Have there been dozens of tiduses? Does dream zanarkand cycle specific time periods or something? Good thing that didn't happen when Tidus and Jecht were away.
Dream Zanarkand is a gigantic Aeon, the dreams of the original inhabitants given physical form isolated from the rest of the world and allowed to exist as it would have it if were literally the only place in Spira. It's not the lives of the original people on repeat, it's their combined collective story of Zanarkand playing out forever, constantly replacing the old with the new in an imitation of history.
I've read years ago that Tidus is not Shuyin's dream version. He's a distant descendant of Shuyin's dream version. The inhabitants of Dream Zanarkand have dream genes and have reproduced and died like normal people. No idea if it's actually true. It sounds stupid anyway.
Maesta Mika doesn't age because he has the cover of the Church of Yevon to stymie any questions about how this ancient fossil of a man is STILL Grand Maester when even your parents and grandparents who grew up with him are long dead. Auron had to grow up alongside Tidus and then return to a world (and Yuna) that would get suspicious if he didn't look a decade older.
In-game, the characters all have low-fidelity models used for regular gameplay and simple cutscenes, high-fidelity models used only for certain cutscenes with much greater facial details, and their ultra high-fidelity models used in the prerendered CGI cutscenes. On top of that, the HD version """""updated""""" the in-game models with new looks that lean into a more homogenized Square-Enix artstyle, whereas the original was a bit more wild with less consistency between the models used in-game and the models made by the CGI artists for the prerendered cutscenes. I'm pretty certain that the in-game models were based directly off of Nomura's original concept art whereas the CGI cutscene models were probably based, at least for their faces, off of Japanese reference models, which would explain why all the characters look a lot more asian in the CGI cutscenes
And that's not even getting into shit like his Dissidia appearances or promotional renders made 20 years after the fact to promote a kabuki play or whatever shit they're doing now
This is a problem with Sonic Adventure 2 and Super Mario Sunshine as well. What's with these games where two characters are mistaken for each other that look nothing alike? The Mario/Shadow Mario confusion is somewhat forgivable because Shadow Mario could have been Mario wearing some weird skinsuit or using a new powerup, but it should have been obvious they weren't the same person when the real Mario showed up on the airstrip, having just arrived in Isle Delfino.
I kinda wish we will some day get an FFX offshoot about Braska, Jecht and Auron, but their story might be pretty boring when there's no massive drama like with Seymour, Al Bhed and the Yevon temple

Unsent are basically just fiends, right? They die from damage and poison and such, so they must have some sort of biological processes.
