Just so you know, invaders invade only in 3 or 4 places and they'll clownsuit with their builds with greatpears and golem arrows because the game allows only for that braindead kind of gameplay.
Unlike what shitposters say if you coop with the subpar coop from gives you, you'll play alone with your buddies for 95% of the game with only a few invaders who are clueless players who are trying the mechanic just because, you'll only get some twinks at the start and the tryhards in the hotspots, the rest is a kids ride, almost disappointing really.

Some people (actually majority of PvE players) have no desire and intentions to farm for 2K hours to get full set of meta PvP builds. They want to spend like 100-300 hours in game, beat the final boss and that it. They absolutely would be not geared for PvP.
Forcing PvP into PvE game is cringe. Forcing PvP into gear collection PvE game is absolute cancer.
Elden Ring launched with terrible networking. It was linked to geographic location in the game. You could get consistently disconnected traversing some areas. Boss fights could bug out with coop causing the host's runes to not drop on death, resulting in them simply disappearing.
The game was buggy and the seemless coop mod improved the game greatly.

Its froms inability to make networking actually work. You need to install mods just to use ultrawide support. So what ever, seamless co-op should have been the way the co-op worked anyway.

Playing against other players is unfair. You can't read attack windups like you can with a carefully designed boss because the opponent player because the opponent's attack speed and windups are that of a player speed, which is, depending on the weapon, nigh impossible for the average person to process and react to. By this logic, Malenia is far more fair and balanced than any single player opponent. People who cheese against Malenia are bad at the game because she's fair as is and doesn't require cheese, but people who cheese against other players are justified because fighting against other players is an unfair experience and should be met with similar unfairness to equalize the playing field. There's no "git gud" in PvP. It takes more skill to defeat Malenia, whereas it takes more luck to defeat a player. I do not play unfair games, therefore I do not engage with PvP. Simple as.
Forcing pvp on players that want only pve has never and will never work. I can understand every other From decision other than this one. Every game with a pvp pve conflict goes barren unless you can opt out. It's always been dumb for From to do this and they could balance the bosses and enemies in coop in some other way.

Ya I did ruin, played remake on mates PS5 and made same twink build just to see is balance any better. It was so much worse than I remembered. As an invader I killed all my opponents with one running r1. I only did few invasion at the 1-4 of boletaria and one as boss in latria. I felt so embarassed that I actually used these "builds" as my main PVP build back in the day. Shits so broken that if you cant see that, your brains probably broken bro.

90% of invaders are build for pvp/invasions and only look for the kill, as it is he goal. They mostly aren`t noobs and will use very trick in the book. But to get the kill quickly, they only want to invade the 70% that summon because they need the help. As soon as they invade a game with the 30% who are expecting/want invasions they scream "Nooo! Not like this! GANK, GANK... Im getting GANKED! Please NO!"

To be fair, this is why PVP is only good at the beginning release of a Souls game when everyone is figuring out the builds and just using what is fun. But once the meta opens up and people start min/max'ing, it becomes different.
Gonna be real, seamless coop is how Elden Ring coop should have (mostly) worked. The lack of Torrent/horse use online because, "waaaaah too hard to balance!!" is such a shitty excuse. Having to constantly resummon your friends after beating each boss per area (caves, catacombs, field bosses), along with fog walls preventing you from SEAMLESSLY acsessing parts of the map is dated as frick. They could have made it so killing the main boss (or last boss) of an area makes your phantom fren vanish. The former only works for Fromslop's semi-linear or linear format, also Bloodborne had a mechanic for solo invasion possibilities in certain areas with the bell maiden. Elden Ring could have easily redid this mechanic for places like catacombs, legacy dungeons, and etc. But they didn't because, frick you I guess. Online play would be much better if you could use Torrent in coop/invasions, have the entire world open, and have access to solo invasions without the use of the dried finger reskin.
I don't even care about invasions. I hate having to wait for my friends summon sign to show up, hate getting unsummoned when beating a boss, hate having to unsummon just to walk through a door, and hate how coop summoning is tied to a resource you have to find and hate that only the host can progress. Change those to allow a proper coop experience and I'll happily deal with invaders.

I didn’t mind being invaded in Dark Souls 1 if it was by somebody with equivalent armor and such and it was a real duel.
The problem was that people would create an Overpowered character then sit in an early game area to troll and one shot new characters. I even beat some of those people but the effort to do so was rediculous and the duel meant absolutely nothing except that most buttholes are also very stupid.

Elden Ring launched with terrible networking. It was linked to geographic location in the game. You could get consistently disconnected traversing some areas. Boss fights could bug out with coop causing the host's runes to not drop on death, resulting in them simply disappearing.
The game was buggy and the seemless coop mod improved the game greatly.

Playing against other players is unfair. You can't read attack windups like you can with a carefully designed boss because the opponent player because the opponent's attack speed and windups are that of a player speed, which is, depending on the weapon, nigh impossible for the average person to process and react to. By this logic, Malenia is far more fair and balanced than any single player opponent. People who cheese against Malenia are bad at the game because she's fair as is and doesn't require cheese, but people who cheese against other players are justified because fighting against other players is an unfair experience and should be met with similar unfairness to equalize the playing field. There's no "git gud" in PvP. It takes more skill to defeat Malenia, whereas it takes more luck to defeat a player. I do not play unfair games, therefore I do not engage with PvP. Simple as.
Forcing pvp on players that want only pve has never and will never work. I can understand every other From decision other than this one. Every game with a pvp pve conflict goes barren unless you can opt out. It's always been dumb for From to do this and they could balance the bosses and enemies in coop in some other way.

I've completed ER solo with out magic nor summons, and now I manly just play silly builds with mates. And we just rather play seamlessly, if from wasn't so lazy with their online applications we could have invasion too but from sucks in that regard.

As an invader I killed all my opponents with one running r1. I only did few invasion at the 1-4 of boletaria and one as boss in latria. People who summon are 70% noobs who need help. The other 30% are people that want to play specific sections in multiplayer repeatly and try to get to the boss (Haligtree) while getting invasions.
90% of invaders are build for pvp/invasions and only look for the kill, as it is he goal. They mostly aren`t noobs and will use very trick in the book. But to get the kill quickly, they only want to invade the 70% that summon because they need the help. As soon as they invade a game with the 30% who are expecting/want invasions they scream "Nooo! Not like this! GANK, GANK... Im getting GANKED! Please NO!"

To be fair, this is why PVP is only good at the beginning release of a Souls game when everyone is figuring out the builds and just using what is fun. But once the meta opens up and people start min/max'ing, it becomes different.

Gonna be real, seamless coop is how Elden Ring coop should have (mostly) worked. The lack of Torrent/horse use online because, "waaaaah too hard to balance!!" is such a shitty excuse. Having to constantly resummon your friends after beating each boss per area (caves, catacombs, field bosses), along with fog walls preventing you from SEAMLESSLY acsessing parts of the map is dated as frick. They could have made it so killing the main boss (or last boss) of an area makes your phantom fren vanish. The former only works for Fromslop's semi-linear or linear format, also Bloodborne had a mechanic for solo invasion possibilities in certain areas with the bell maiden. Elden Ring could have easily redid this mechanic for places like catacombs, legacy dungeons, and etc. But they didn't because, frick you I guess. Online play would be much better if you could use Torrent in coop/invasions, have the entire world open, and have access to solo invasions without the use of the dried finger reskin.

I hate having to wait for my friends summon sign to show up, hate getting unsummoned when beating a boss, hate having to unsummon just to walk through a door, and hate how coop summoning is tied to a resource you have to find and hate that only the host can progress. I didn’t mind being invaded in Dark Souls 1 if it was by somebody with equivalent armor and such and it was a real duel.
The problem was that people would create an Overpowered character then sit in an early game area to troll and one shot new characters. I even beat some of those people but the effort to do so was rediculous and the duel meant absolutely nothing except that most buttholes are also very stupid.

People who dismiss FromSoft multiplayer without honestly trying to understand it are missing out on one of the most fun, unique experiences in video games.
