>prolonging a bullet sponge battle
I WILL drop your game at that very second.
it gets annoying when it's the boss's gimmick so i will respectfully disagree
>boss outheals your damage output
>fight is now impossible since bosses have infinite resources and you don't
A lot of games would have to be redesigned from ground up to allow that.
all healing bosses have a timer or limited heals.
name literally 1 that has inifinite heal that you can't outdamage.
In SMT hardtype moraie sisters heal for like ~1000hp every turn with mediarama, their mana is not infinite but it may as well be they have endurance for hundreds of turns. If you don't bring physical attackers with focus you cannot outpace their heals.
Games where
>you didn't know in advance what your loadout needs to be and had to spend 20 minutes learning you have the wrong one xD
are bad. proved me wrong I guess.
You can potentially run out of juice on a lot of Super Robot Wars bosses that regen or camp defensive terrain but you'd probably have to be playing without weapon upgrades for it to be a real problem
>Boss hands typed this post
Look Black person, you have 15000 HP and I only have 100, it's not fair when you heal.
as long as bosses operate with the same logic and limitations as your character, then sure. don't know why other people are >implying
that this wouldn't be the case.
Because that's literally never the case in any RPG ever. Bosses always have infinite mana, immunity to all status effects and 150,000x your hitpoints.
It is a thing in Fromsoft games with multiphase fights.
Plenty of bosses do that, never played a JRPG?!
It is sometimes.
Shit ton of RPGs and Action games have this mechanic. It's not a rare concept dumb casual.
Played college ball, you know.
Vicar Amelia
It could be cool on a rival character who fights similarly to you.
Not that, but Bowser in Paper Mario comes to mind as a good example of boss healing. 99 hp isn't all that much, even in that game really, but he heals for 30 hp 3 times and as a kid at least, it really came down to the wire and felt like he was giving his all
It's funny that even though Malenia can do that and morons whine about it it's by far the least threatening part of that fight.
Most boss fights that involve them getting healed is usually worked into the fight pretty reasonably, like . Pokemon is an example where it isn't but most things about Pokemon suck ass anyway
That was such a good boss battle. Never even thought about the healing part but wow you're so right. That was such a good final boss, he has never really been that unequivocally evil before and with the evilness came the power.

That's why you cheese the boss and hit him before he heals to prevent the heal animation from completing
Omega in MegaMan ZX
WARE WA MESSHIA NARI
HAHAHAHA
>some bosses in AC7 actually use repair packs just like you do
healing bosses are annoying but I'd take them over bosses that nuke your party if you fail a dps check any day of the week
Only fair if the boss is as squishy as you are.
>What is a dps check
Also second or third forms where the boss changes elemental weaknesses and can 1 hit you if you’re not prepared instead of just burning down his HP bar
bosses just have all their healing potions added to their healthbar from the start, you have 100hp and 9 refils, they have 1000hp to start with
>boss only heals when you heal
That's where the ludokino begins
That’s just what the 2nd phase is for sometimes. Also, bosses that can heal mid battle usually do and if they can block you from healing mid fight, you should be able to block them as well. Some games do this turn based RPGs but some action ones too like Bloodborne’s Vicar Amelia.
>Leader/Elite 4/Champion used Full Restore
FRICK YOOOOUUUU
I find it funny when I’m having a rough run in Risk of Rain 2 to the point where there are like fifteen elite enemies that are making the boss invisible and healing it.
If only personababs knew how bad it can really get.
I don't care if the boss heals just don't make it a slog of repeated mechanics, like for example in dark souls 3 when you fight the final boss to a certain point, he heals up and his moveset is entirely changed
Banning redditfrogs should be a thing for 4chink too.
