Heart and Soul?
Something I got to think about, after all those fake leaks, is the fact that we never really had an explanation on why Ho-Oh is associated with “Heart” and Lugia with “Soul”.
The icons of HeartGold and SoulSilver resemble Ho-Oh and Lugia, but they’re also different from them. And even though I know it can be just a reinterpretation of the artist who created them, in order to make their design look like a heart and a wisp, it’s still interesting to note it.
A similar thing happened with ORAS, when they connected Omega and Alpha to Groudon and Kyogre’s markings - that were always under our eyes, but stayed unexplained until the remakes gave them a reason to be shaped like that.
What if something like that happens with Ho-Oh and Lugia? They could have a new form that makes them look more like HGSS symbols, and they could also explain why they’re associated with Heart and Soul.

>They could have a new form that makes them look more like HGSS symbols
Johto won't have another remake sorry
It would sell more than their other options
Bring back megas and primals
worst opinion ever
Heart and Soul represent the amount of effort they put into remakes.
Hear and Soul represents everything GF left behind after these games
Black person it’s the theme of the games. The legendary Pokémon will only appear to trainers deemed pure of heart and soul.
It’s about powerful Pokémon waiting for a worthy trainer. This shit is basic literacy.
>This shit is basic literacy.
So you can understand why it confuses the shit out of /vp/ now, yeah?
how about no
>we never really had an explanation on why Ho-Oh is associated with “Heart” and Lugia with “Soul”.
It's taken from a line of dialogue in Crystal, where Suicune is searching for a pure-hearted trainer who can touch the souls of pokemon. Dunno how Lugia made his way in there though
>why Ho-Oh is associated with "Heart"
It's not.
>and Lugia with "Soul".
It's not.
/thread
>SoulSilver has a silhouette icon of Lugia
okay.
Why's Kyogre the Alpha and Groudon the Omega?
because life came from the ocean and will die in vulcano eruption or other cataclysm
I think it makes a good name, no more reason needed.
Bird chests are like hearts and Lugia is a bawd
Lugia makes my pp hard that's pretty soulful
They sound cool.
>when they connected Omega and Alpha to Groudon and Kyogre’s markings - that were always under our eyes, but stayed unexplained until the remakes gave them a reason to be shaped like that
Neither Kyogre or Groudon have Alpha or Omega markings, or anything that represents them. Not even Primal Kyogre or Groudon have the symbols. The names are superficial and could be replaced with anything because there is no connection or representation.
Seriously this was fricking bullshit and never "under our eyes" it was just made up for the sake of being made up
>was just made up for the sake of being made up
No shit
I'd say they were def retconned into their designed for the remake.
It's the whole aplha = beginning; omega = end thing. The games npc talk about how the land ends where the sea begins. It is also in their abilities.
I imagine that it's supposed to be a harmonious message that the land and sea aren't separated by anything
Rayquaza is a sigma like me
Nah he's a delta
It's also that it ties them in with the gen 6 legendaries by sharing themes. Xernea-Kyogre represent life, Yveltal and Groudon are death. But even in their original games this theme was present with the two key locations relating to them in Hoenn being Mt. Pyre, which is a graveyard, and the Cave of Origin in Sootopolis.
There is A on Kyogre fins
There is Omega sign on Groudon arms
>FireRed is a type and game
>not call GrassGreen
“Heart of gold” is a common saying, heart and soul are common thematically paired. Games talk about purity of heart and soul. Lugia is a Psychic type, which is ultimately named after the Greek goddess of the soul. Heart is associated with life, which Ho-oh gives.

Heart because ho-oh can revive pokemon
