The guns are the best part of the game. If it was just the story and quests than no offense, it's overrated. But being able to bring in so much guns and shoot everyone down was great fun. I wish there was some radiant quests or some way for large settlements to come back up, JUST so I can go back and reshoot them up.

It's an aggressively 7/10 game. It's competent and bugfree but quite bland and unadventurous. Half the npcs being dyke-haired stronkwomen caricatures doesn't help either. I liked it over all but it's not an easy recommendation unless you're into RPGs in general.

I have never played an RPG game and I'm so fricking lost. I'm in Primm right now and I just cleared the Bisonn Steve hotel without even knowing why. Now they want me to find a new sheriff? Why the frick would I do this shit for them.
ALSO WHERE THE FRICK DO I GET GUNS FROM. I'm still using the same gun that b***h from the first town gave me just added a silencer on it.
1. You do quests for people generally speaking for experience and often rewards. Exp helps you raise your stats and gives you perks which can be downright broken if you pick the right ones.
2. You can find guns literally everywhere. There's a 9mm SMG in Doc Mitchell's house that you can repair, Chet usually sells at least some guns, you can pick up guns off of dead bodies, they're everywhere. In fact if you did just get done clearing out Primm, you should have picked up a flamethrower from the leader of the convicts.
Most junk is generally worthless outside of niche situations, but some electronic parts are useful for certain quests and characters. The use of these parts can also be completely bypassed with skill checks like science and repair though, so it's not a necessity. For example, in Primm you can get both a companion and complete the quest with some electronic parts, or you can use science and repair to do the same thing. It's generally better to go scavenging after you find out you need certain parts than it is to hoard it all unless you already know exactly what you need and what you're doing.

If you play new vegas without vicious wastes you're doing it wrong. It rebalanced all the weapons on top of making the game pretty hard.
