You can alt tab in linux and it runs well and stable(besides stuttering whenever province texts are displayed for the first time)
Just be careful to choose a window manager that works with the game or fullscreen is a bit trash
I personally reccomend linux mint and MATE with cinnamon for normal usage in log in if you prefer

For HoI3? None that I know of. It's a shame how Japan is almost always boring shit in GSG, especially in WW2 ones where you have to hop islands and suffer a million other cancerous setbacks.

Didn't try WitE 2 but WitE 1 under wine was very slow and crashed on bigger maps

An autism simulator that focuses on exploring East Asia, and especially Japan in depth. I'm imagining something similar to CK2, but with a revamped character system, actual difficulty, a more or less real economy, religion and culture that actually have effects and many different decisions one can do that effect the world. I'd like to move away from the Paradox template of everything being worthless +1% modifiers, and towards actual mechanics that you can be locked out of or unlock, which change how you play. And also to simulate things like starvation due to lack of food, economic growth, changes in governing etc. It'll probably take me three years or so to even begin working on something like this. But I like GSG(gay sex games) and Japan too, so I'm sure I'll start working on it eventually.

I recent upgraded my pc and was presently surprised that hoi3 works just as well on the much newer win 11 as it did on my 7 rig. One game I was sure was going to have issues was hoi3 but it’s perfectly fine

Anyone played the 44 scenario on very hard as the Germans? Doing it now. Not difficult to hold your ground against the Russians but the supply malus makes it tricky to go on the offensive. Decided to the only way to win ( paint the map grey ) is to shorten the supply lines, pull back to the frontiers and try to wipe their army out within Poland and Hungary. Going to see how that goes.
Playing on very hard just means putting up with a lot of dumb unrealistic shit and resorting to gamey tactics to win. If you find scenarios on normal difficulty too easy then do stuff like using house rules and delete half of all your military units before you start.
