It is broken on AMD 7000 series though; consistent crashes at least every half hour w/ error messages saying my graphics driver crashed. Swapping to a 3060 ti stopped all the issues

reminder that Helldivers' use of GameGuard, shit as it is, is seemingly restricted entirely to when the game is running with the process opening on launch and closing on exit; I didn't find appdata, registry keys, or any indication it existed after the game delaunches, and the Tools subfolder contains manual install and uninstall tools that are hooked directly to the game application which you can also run yourself just to be sure.

When remastering EDF4 for PS4 they were given the option to fix issues in the game regarding frame rate with all the new power afforded them.
Instead they put even more enemies on screen at once, added Not Godzilla and a Giant Robot to fight him with and tanked FPS even harder.

The warbond tracks are permanent. They will never become unavailable and new tracks that are added will simply coexist with already existing tracks.
This means you have an indefinite amount of time to get everything in a warbond track.
That actually makes it worse. If you don't play at a pace to continuously collect enough warbonds to clean out every release, you are now behind. They promised monthly warbond releases, and they already cut content from the release for the upcoming warbond releases. It's the same gameplay cycle as the most predatory gacha games - making you farm for pennies of currency for excessive lengths while trapping you in a cycle of logging in every day to complete your daily order (for fast warbonds) to ensure you're able to actually use your items. It's the same goddamn gameplay loop as Genshin Impact.

They snipe and throw everything from afar. Bugs are melee and give more room to breathe
Bots are EASY because they don't spawn a charger every 2.7 seconds on extreme difficulty, allowing you to actually play the fricking game instead of constantly trying to juggle the 4 existing chargers running in circles as you frantically spin in circles, waiting for your strategems to cool down.
Frick the galactic war, the bots are what's actually playable past the tutorial difficulties. Unless my friends with the P2W Dominator are in the party, in which case we just casually clean them all up.

yeah, the only thing that can affect SC is how many squad members extract (so you'll lose a little bit playing solo, but it's nothing), how many PoIs you completed, and how much time you have left over. You get even more if do all the maps/mission in a sector. Difficulty only changes the type of samples you can get. The game encourages teaming up, but doesn't punish you for doing solo runs if you can't find the time or players.

They are random. I think difficulty 2 you get one, 3 you get two, and 4 you get three from my experience. I haven't gone above difficulty 4 yet. So the higher your difficulty the more likely you'll get a radar tower
I believe they are random, not guarinteed to get them each time. Super credits and medals always spawn in POIs that you can visibly see though, if there's an outpost there's a shipping container you can blow up with a grenade and an escape pod will send up a flashing yellow bacon so you can't miss them.
The game is amazing. Have only crashed twice in a dozen hours. Turn off crossplay, it's broken and is the reason you can't join lobbies.
The music is God tier, cutscenes are amazing, gameplay is tight, shooting bugs and androids is satisfying as frick, and landing air strikes on my friends is awesome. The only things I dont like about the game is that if you just so happen to like a gun or strategem at the end of the battle pass get ready to GRINDDDDD.

Not at all. The upgrades you grind for are like 10% upgrades (10% faster reload for strategems) that don't stack and are stratagem specific. A fully "upgraded" ship gives you like 10% cooldown reduction, instant hellpod drops for items (down from 4 seconds) like 1 second off of orbital attacks and one extra mag of ammo for support weapons (not a higher ammo cap you just start without a missing mag)
The grind is getting super credits and medals for more weapons and outfits in the warlords which are all side grades.

you'll probably be pretty comfortable around 5-6 where enemies are tough, but it feels like a surmountable challenge if you do half-decent prep work. nothing exceptionally intense on the bug planets but you can and will frick up if you dont respect the enemy horde

You probably pulled two patrols. They summon bug holes if you don't wipe them out fast enough. If you see one start spewing orange mist into the air its too late, even if they only spew for a second a breach will happen. At level 4 and above you'll always get at least 2 heavies.

It all depends on your level right now if you can kill them quickly. This was pre level 10 with other low levels on challenge mode. Again, it's only happened once which is why I am calling it out.
Medals aren't bad at all. It's the upgrades, especailly rare upgrades, that take the longest.

Fricker gets stunlocked too. Normally you'd think you would get swarmed by smaller bugs but my backpack drone is pretty good at covering my ass. Soloing level 4 missions is pretty enjoyable. Once you have a way to reliably take out chargers by yourself.
Having played drg and l4d I never once used voicechat especially in drg's case it's easy to pinpoint characters that there is something to do do you need it in this game? How much coordination is really required?

I wish there was better feed back if you're hitting an enemy sometimes. I mag dumped an autocanon into the back of a heavy charger bug but it didn't kill it. I've had the same thing happen with a grendae launcher, as well. Makes me think my shots were hitting it's armor and not the sweet spot, but I'm not really getting any feedback other than the charger isn't dying. Either that or these charger bugs just have a frickton more health than they did in the first game.
Sometimes charger bugs will also just stop moving for a while after taking a ton of damage, making it seem like they died when in fact they are still alive and ready to frick you the moment you focus on something else

You at least had tanks and things to take out them in the first game. Orbitals are great, but they have a long cool down so they can't sustain multiple ones. I was hoping the autocannon would be the answer, but as I said in an earlier post I've mag dumped on the sweet spot and they just don't die to that. So yeah, I'm actually at a loss on how to take on multiple chargers that just keep coming (one or two is not bad).
EATs are spammable and take off a charger's armor where you hit it. So theoretically one rocket and concentrated gunfire can take it out.

I uninstalled this kernel level rootkit malware and it blue screened my PC. Do not uninstall the game because the malware will uninstall improperly and take some kernels with it.
Once you get to a difficulty that NEVER slows down the best nothing you can do is split into two squads, an objective squad and a war squad where the objective guys sneak around to do the objectives while the war squad fights never ending waves of enemies on their own about 200 meters away so they draw aggro

Yes, respawns are shared between the whole team. Dying happens very quickly. If the entire team dies at once, it just respawns everyone and uses the correct amount of respawns. When you run out and everyone dies, mission over. They also regenerate VERY slowly when you run out
Only other thing to add is respawns are considered a stratagem calldown. Once time runs out, you can no longer user any stratagem calldown at all, including respawn even if you have lives left.
Bit different from the first game where people had to pop a stratagem to summon you back in.

When a squad member dies, you have to use a stratagem to reinforce the squad. Each new Helldiver dropped via the use of this stratagem expends a charge of the stratagem, which you start with 20 of as you mentioned. When you run out of charges, the stratagem goes on cooldown for like three minutes (iirc) during which you cannot reinforce, and even after that cooldown ends, you get one charge meaning you can reinforce one Helldiver and then it's three minutes to wait again.

This medal progress seems like crazy grind. How many medals do you earn on highier difficulties. After initial 1,5h of playing ~4 mission I got 12. Price requirements for each new tier really stack up crazy.
You get significantly more medals when doing higher difficulties and finishing full operations. (8+ per mission)
Also daily orders give a bunch as well
Finishing a full operation at impossible is about a bit under 30. If you played HD1 you should know by now to hit the objectives and extract

I've been playing F2P Korean slop for 20 years that uses Nprotect and while it can get a bit pissy about what you have open (Visual Studio is detected as a hack, for example), I have never once heard of CPUs melting or any of that shit the chinks in these threads keep mentioning.
My CPU and GPU temps are at normal gaming levels while playing this.

From what i've read it seems to perform worse on Nvidia rigs, while AMD rigs run pretty smooth.
Matchmaking is a crapshoot. I got 2 missions in with no drops/crashes and then the next handful of missions had to do solo. Rinse and repeat.

Mobility is the most important because your always going to be moving around to reach objectives.
Even in the missions where your expected to hold out your more likely to get more usage from having more mobility.

Clearing a helldiver difficulty op gives 33 medals. Only have to clear about 30/40 ops. So just 32 full op clears or 96 missions to get to the last free battle pass page.

what's even the point? if the battlepass was all weapons/boosts that would be different but i have to unlock worthless fricking shit like armor with duplicate perks, helmets that do fricking nothing, emotes, and fricking player cards. i currently have 20 hours and only on page 5 with medal costs significantly increasing as i buy more shit. by the time i unlock the final weapon on page 10 i'd probably have to sink 100+ hours into the game. what the frick were they thinking?

The War Bonds/Battlepasses never expire after you buy them for 1k, so it's not the usual FOMO Judaic trickery. I don't think they're going to be time limited purchases either since they're going to probably replace the weapon DLC packs. If you play even half regularly, I'd expect to be able to buy War Bonds faster for free than they actually produce and put them out

A lot of cash shops have daily refreshes where items come and go. They can return though no telling when. It’s generally used to get you to buy currency or sped up battlepass progression so you don’t feel like you ‘lost out’ on something.

Hard to say so early on, but I'm like 16 hours in, level 20+ for all stratagems and still only have 700 of the Special Credits. I need 1000 to grind out the Battle Pass. So eventually I'll get it since I tend to play these for 50-100+ hours total if I really like them. I don't give a damn about cosmetics so I don't even look at the shop for that. It seems pretty stingy for normal casual players and rewarding for the hardcore patient audience who will play for that long anyway.

I feel hitting stims and trying to stand up from prone is extremely inconsistent. If you are trying to do anything except stim it won't go off.

like running won't re-register after consecutive actions, and sometimes spamming Reload then trying to immediately fire will result in you firing 1 shot then tossing the mag again

on PC at least it's getting a lot better, still getting some errors but I usually find a match in about 5 attempts (which takes like 30 seconds)
