Liberator Explosive uses the explosive property for large knockback.
Scorcher uses the explosive property for area damage, hence why it can KO walkers from the front.
Dominator uses the explosive property to amplify weakspot hits, IIRC if you hit a red mark the round actually does explode some.
The bugs don't want you to know this but you can actually shoot while you are getting swarmed lying on the ground and don't need to wait before you get up before you shoot again

Varies wildly from gun to gun, or even situationally. DMR is pretty much always, shotgun is never, handguns never, Autocannon I'll go first person if I'm trying to hit something precise like a hulk eye (probably isn't helping). I'll switch between scope zoom and third person fairly often with an assault rifle.
I usually do it by range, point blank I go first person because the auto adjustment fricking sucks, at mid range I stick to the over the shoulder camera and for those long range shots I go first person again.
The advanced aiming mode setting or whatever it's called is fantastic and lets you instantly go into first person aim when you need it.
At first mostly third person but being just so used to FPS i switched completely to first person that being said it makes bot mission with a autocannon a breeze because you can kill pretty much anything from the front, yes even hulks if you snipe their tiny head.

I virtually never run out with my slugger after the patch. There's so much ammo on the map plus the resupply every couple minutes. I don't think I've ever died due to insufficient ammo.

Arc shotgun might be good if it functions similar to the arc thrower. No ammo, no heat, hits multiple enemies with enough damage to just pop hunters and raiders. Short range but ignores armor.

the only flaw of the arc thrower is how inconsistent it is at actual firing, regardless how close or far the enemy is, beyond that its superb horde and heavy unit clearer

It does get 12 8-round magazines, a surprisingly large blast radius, and instakills players.
The numbers on the Sickle seem comparable to the standard Liberator, with the only downside being you can't just magdump it. Arc shotgun and the plasma launcher will probably be decent, too.

Breaker/Redeemer/Rover/EAT is the strongest loadout in the game vs bugs btw. Only weakness is you need at least one teammate with a GL for bile spewers, which you should already have anyway.

the 200m scope makes hitting the faceplate of a hulk or devastator easier than it is with the unmagnified autocannon sight picture or 3rd person aiming, at ranges such as 50m and 100m too
Okay maybe that is just skill issue then, I disliked the biggest scope both on diligence and amr for those ranges and didn't feel like I was hitting more frequently with them
In games I never really like scopes that are too zoomed. In tarkov I also often use scopes with smaller magnification than my buddies
Well I'm glad you have a weapon you like but I still wish they'd change hipfure so it either has a reticle or it gets some buff that's offset by very strong inaccuracy if hipfure. As it stands it's perfectly accurate you just don't get a reticle and that's one of my most hated things some shooters do
so the AMR offers a zoom function while the autocannon offers a full auto mode and a lot more ammo.

Considering whoever sent in purposefully misaligns the scope? no. But the AMR does have good ammo economy and doesn't need a backpack and reloads on the move. So 'what your missing' is literally everything aside from hitting an enemy without aiming at the weak spot or having the 'explosive' damage type for fat bugs
the reload on the move is pretty good, admittedly. You can reload clips of 5 without having to load through the autocannon though, so you can reload with relatively little downtime at least. I do hate the scope on the autocannon though
There's tradeoffs, but generally I'd call the AMR pretty frickin underpowered. Being able to sit on a hill outside a base and take out light/medium/hulks is pretty nice, but the ammo economy sucks due to only getting 1 clip back per ammo pickup, and it offers no ability to deal with groups like the autocannon does, so being able to reload while moving is of extremely limited value. If it did more raw damage or armor pen so it had value against heavies it would fit more of a 'not the best at anything but good at a lot of things' mold more.
Like if by some weird magic it one shot Berserkers it would be worth having one on a team just to cull conga lines. But it doesn't, it sucks against berserkers.
As is, its role is generally better performed by a DMR, and just having another way to manage hulks since you'll need something else for other bot heavies anyways.

It's terrible against bugs and since it has shit for armor pen it's literally not worth taking over the regular counter sniper primary due to the fact when hitting headshots on bots most things die in the same amount of shots. For some reason AMR uses never seem to know that they can just take a Diligence, continue to one/two shot all bots in the head, then take something like an arc thrower or one of the machine guns as a support weapon for trash clearing and have a way better time.

I play on 9 when I can but i just wanna chill and check out the new gamemode. I got like 15ish titans, I think the new game mode spawns to many waves. normal game modes are probably fine.
Yeah it's a lot better on the normal game modes but on the new game mode they added, the Titans spawn almost non-stop. Even on difficulty 7, there is a large problem with the amount of heavy units that spawn. In fact I'm pretty sure that the patch did absolutely nothing to counteract that.

It is really funny, but from a balance and fun perspective it makes way more sense. It's unironically way easier to shoot the large """heavily armored""" head with an RR instead of dodging the charge and shooting it in the ass after it runs past.

Previously you just brought things to deal with chargers and titans and everyone brought similar strategems and support weapons. Every single mission. Because I run them. My friends will run anti armor, sentries, etc while I mulch every bug I look at with the MG. I just run EATs instead of a 500kg or something after yesterday, and now I get to rape chargers on top of anti-trash. It's actually way worse now. The game is far easier.

Yea, it's really fricking boring. Before I had to make the choice between chaff/heavy stategems to clear armor if I get separated or if my team mates are too busy to help clear chargers/titans on me. Now I just drop a couple EATs every 60 seconds and I can clear whatever the frick I want. I really hope they revert the change. Make it take two EATs/RRs to destroy the head and one for the ass if they want to do it that way and then revert the spawn rates and the game will go back to being fun but challenging.
Same on 9. Mission feel to easy now. I learned to cope with them with EAT spam. Now I feel just overpowered because I have all these missiles lying around and shooting regular enemies with them because Titans or Chargers won't show up (and even if they do they die instantly)

I fricking dropped onto a patrol with a tank and the dropships came in with a tank, hulk, and about a billion of those chainsaw fricks. We were less than a minute into the game.
Worst spawn I've had on a bot planet was landing next to two tanks and a pack of heavy devastators, between the edge of the map and a jammer. Hardest part of most missions is often times just unfricking your start location and gearing up without just leaving all your shit in a shit pit.

It still can't lock on for shit. And for a weapon with only 4 shots, it should damn well kill anything you shoot it at, with the exception of maybe bile titans. Blasting a turret tower after 2 minutes of attempting and failing to lock on to it and doing nothing is not great.
Besides the broken ramp on the one variation and non-functional killboxes in the water, I really like the new maps for the TCS missions.

Gatling sentry for bugs (after getting the ship module upgrades) and probably autocanon for bots.
Airburst for Bugs. Toss one in a Breach and you kill 75% of chaff that comes out of them. My favorite combo is to Airburst one then Precision Orbital after the second blast to ensure the last wave gets cooked alongside any Chargers/Bile Titans.

Every variant of a weapon is always worse than the main versions of that same weapon in this game. It's true for the breaker and it's true for the liberator too. The liberator variants have terrible DPS and ammo efficiency.

Exactly opposite. It's completely worthless against bots and the only item that has ever gotten me kicked. The two games I brought it, it did terrible and I was kicked. On bugs it's "okay". There's a few bugs with medium armour but I have no clue what the penetrator even penetrates against bots. Devastator didn't die in a full mag to the face in a panic. Chainsawers don't die in a mag either.

Devestators have medium armor, but the gun does such little damage you're better off just aiming for the head with literally any other gun. Well, except for the counter sniper I guess.
The Breaker does the opposite, it lacks armor pen but makes up for it by just absolutely shitting dps out enough it kills them anyway.

it seems like if the group tries to focus on one tower at a time you just get assfricked by 5000 bugs spawning non-stop but if you split up and activate multiple towers the bugs also split up and it becomes way easier to handle

I don't understand how people are having such a hard time with the TCS missions that they need to ask other people to tell them how to play. Me and my mates jumped into them on level 8 last night and didn't fail a single one, we had to restart a few towers but it wasn't really a struggle, everyone just brought their favorite stratagems like usual.
Because it depends entirely on what kind of spawn pool the game decides to throw at you in the mission. Is it hunters and brood commanders and chaff? It's fine. Is it bile spewers and hunters? You are fricked because they can nuke the towers from range and hunters rush them super quickly.
I guess it depends on difficulty. On 7 I'm dealing with 3 bile titans and 4 chargers at a time sometimes. Doable but hard

Aim for the head. They'll die in two shots to either or 3 mech rockets in the head. EMS is very powerful, especially if your aim is kinda bad. It'll stun the c**ts so you can just chunk em for free.

It's because of the change they made to the charger's heads. Even on Helldiver it's far more efficient and easier to just EAT or RR them in the face instead of spending time to melt a single leg.

My only problem with the flamethrower is that it doesn't melt bile spewers fast enough to make up for obscuring your visibility of them.
I usually take out the Bile spewers with my grenades or primary. They have just about the same range as the Flamethrower If not more than it with their barf attack so it's not a good idea to play chicken with them. If they aren't aggrod on to you it works great.

I feel like those downsides would be enough to not invalidate other choices like the railgun did, even if it was made able to deal with bile spewers more effectively. Which I don't think it should kill them faster, I think it should just stop them from vomiting. They could still try to close distance and explode on death to frick you up though.

the flamethrower feels like a really weird weapon. It feels weaker than the breaker against bugs and its not useful against bile titans. I am not sure what use I can have for it other than just killing chargers and maybe the one armored bug thats frankly not that big of a deal.
The flamethrower needs to be reworked into something that can be used in other situations if you ask me. Maybe give it an arc like napalm so you can safely apply a burning wall from a distance or make it bypass through bugs when burning em if you plan to go aggressive in the front with it.
increase the range. make bugs and bots on fire take a 50% move speed debuff. increase the ground fire damage a bit and reduce the secondary fire damage from an ignited enemy touching you.
Flamethrower allows you to melt any bug in 10 meters for a good 10 seconds straight per reload, and can be used to kill anything but a Titan. Having a ton of "ammo" per "magazine" and a really quick reload means it's the most effective suppressive fire type weapon you can get against bugs.
I still think instead of giving it more damage it should have some kind of slow or fear effect against bugs, bots ignoring being on fire makes sense but bugs are living creatures which typically try to avoid being lit on fire.
A unique balance to bugs panicking in fire (Scavengers, warriors, hunters, spitters) is the Brood Commander can make a call and force them to unpanic. Would make sense for a hivebrood enemy to have a central 'command' and force fodder to move past instinctual fears. Also gives brood commanders something better then being a headless nuisance that only summons shit on occasion
They need to buff fire damage in this game, it makes no sense that 90% of the Flamethrower, Breaker and incendiary Nades damage is frontloaded. Afterburn is so pitifully weak that I swear I've seen little Scavenger homosexuals walk off my carpet bombed bug breach while on fire and live past it.

I use gas on every bug mission. It won't kill everything from a bug breach, but it will soften it all so much that it's incredibly easy to use any primary to finish everything off short of a bile titan or charger, and for those it generally softens them enough to kill easier.
If being on fire prevented bile spewers from vomiting that would provide enough utility to justify using all sorts of incendiary weapons, which are sans flamethrower, pretty exclusively shit.

I'm a different anon, I don't really mind it as a design, but it is rather silly. If it were just differently colored plates it would make more sense, but as is I'm kind of struggling to think of what purpose that part of the body serves. Did the bugs evolve a giant sack of fat that holds no organs or necessary components? Were they engineered that way for some reason?
As gameplay goes, I think it's fine as a really poor option when you have no stratagems or weapons that can properly deal with the thing, so you're stuck shooting an inefficient part, just that it's odd from a visual design/setting design aspect, and would probably make more sense if it were the joints you had to hit instead, even if that would be much harder.
Humans can live without their digestive tract for longer than you'd expect, and many animals can live for surprisingly long times with their frickin intestines pulled out. A bug specifically evolved to be a combat machine being able to keep fighting after getting it's stomach ripped out makes some kind of sense, and they do bleed out once it's broken it just takes a while. TOO long, really.
But when the 2 ton rhino bug loses a leg it's too fat to move and effectively dead, even if in theory it should be able to lash out at really close Helldivers until it finally bleeds out.
It's just video game logic, humans can survive without an arm or a leg but as soon as a limb is severed from a Helldiver=death, because being incapacitated to the point of being not combat capable is essentially the same as being dead as far as video games are concerned.

That's the thing, the flamethrower should have been what the arc thrower is a crowd control weapon with decent charger killing capabilities if the need arises.
Sure it was very good when RR/EAT sucked and there were 500 chargers everywhere, but now that bugs are shifted towards being an actual horde faction and you don't NEED to kill chargers, the flamethrower has noticeably fallen off.
Personally I would nerf the direct damage of the flamethrower just a tiny bit and either give it a fear effect for little bugs or make the dot do more.
It doesn't really make to much sense that a flamethrower is a focus fire weapon when it should be a short ranged "frick everything in this direction equally" weapon.
I would really prefer if it was a horde clear weapon instead of an anti-armor weapon.
Sorry, we can't punish bad positioning and/or poor enemy assessment anymore. Taking a second to stand back and clear your surroundings before throwing fire at anything or synergizing with team composition is just unfair.

I'd be okay with an armor perk that prevented you from being set on fire, not the direct damage of the flamethrower (or standing in fire), but just the perpetual DOT state. Reasonable trade off to lose other perks to be able to be a little more safe, and better deal with pouncing bugs.

Yeah, weaker versions of existing enemies, but you're dealing bug bile, bot rockets, and illuminate shields all at once.
Then you'd also have mobs with unique mechanics fitting to the theme, like perhaps centered around life stealing from you and healing each other. They could subsume your Helldiver corpse and then you'd have to deal with your own dead body.
Since they'd have no real form, you could design them like the flood or dead space necromorphs where destroying them piece by piece is how to deal with them.

You can do the same thing with the AMR except you load two magazines in it at once for a 13 round mag. (not really cheaty since it does still consume the mag)
Yeah if you interrupt the reload before it gets to the last stage you lose that round. If you can wait until your start to re-close the back of the rifle then you keep the round.
I can't tell if it's intended or not. If it's intended, then it shouldn't show you the 'lost' round still in the tube! It should be empty, you should get some sort of feedback that you lose the round, and the reload should reset to the part where you grab a new round and stick it in.
I think it's a bit of a glitch in the loading mechanics, honestly, the two parts of the magazine loading system and the staged reloads just not playing nice. I don't think I've seen it happen with any other weapon like that.

Its cause at lvl 6 you have frick all unlocked. Youre quite literally under equiped and only good for clearing chaff. Depending on the difficulty, it means youre getting carried.
