People still kick me sometimes when I drop in at 31. No idea what these idiots are thinking. Every stratagem you really need to be viable is unlocked by level 10.
well it depends if you're good or not, i got to helldiver at level 16, but i was outkilling level 30s - 40s and not dying and i know how to easily kill every enemy in the game
but if you air strike and team fire your team mates and extract with 40 kills and 8 deaths you need to stay at the lower difficulties
no offense but we need less shitters queing up the higher difficulties
>outkilling level 30s - 40s
Anyone can kill a shitton of enemies, just blast breaches forever. Meanwhile, I've soloed every objective killing only 40 enemies. You're welcome.
Im lvl 18 and have been playing diff 9 for a while
but I do have to host most of the time because there is a 70% chance to instantly get kicked when finally loading in on someones ship, the community is pretty abhorrent
Haven't played in over a week and probably won't play for a few months.
As is now there's just not a lot of variety and it gets very repetitive very quickly. They need objectives that aren't just "activate console and wait" and some stratagems and weapons that change the way you play. The game desperately needs interesting and varies build variety to play around with.
There's plenty of objectives that aren't that >Blitz >Eradication >Sssd >Silos >Eggs
And the ones you've just mindlessly boiled down to "touch terminal and wait" are still often different from one another
>Blitz >Run to holes and throw nade at it >Eradication >sit in center and plop down defensive stratagems >SSD >run to Automaton base and throw a Stratagem at it >Silos >run to obj, activate, wait >Eggs >run to eggs and throw nade at them
None of the mission types change the way you okay the game, except for the defensive missions. But I personally don't find them very interesting. Compare it to a more fleshed out game like DRG with the sorry escort missions or pipeline missions and you'll see how glaring the disparity is.
I'm sure they'll add some new and interesting shit over time, but as it is now once You've played like 3 hours of this game you've seen everything it has to offer
Such a moronic argument, but sure, if you do the same to DRG: >shoot things while protecting moving drill >shoot things while building pipe lines through map >shoot things while mining
See the issue yet? Go back to r/Helldivers if you want to gargle dev wiener and pretend they're perfect indie angels in their dev team of 100 people backed by the largest gaming corporation in history. The game is good but it has some big issues keeping it from being great.
>Drg
literally every single mission is "move to spot, interact with things, shoot bugs"
It's so fricking boring
I can't believe they haven't added a single new mission type since the game came out that isn't basically identical to every single other mission type
>Blitz >Eradication
Can you really call these an objective? You destroy holes/factories and kill enemies every single mission. It doesnt add any variety.
Yes because now they're the goal and they play differently because you have a lot less time to frick around with and in the case of eradication, a lot less space.
Since some other anon brought up drg, a lot of drg missions are already shit you do in every drg mission. >Mine for eggs >Mine for morkite >Kill bugs around betsy as you wait >Kill bugs around.... What's the other fricking stationary defense mission? >Explore map to find minimules
No sorry, making a main objective out of a bonus objective doesn't cut it. And yes DRG objectives also got old pretty fast, but at least the game has some other fun features to rely on. HD2 is missing something. Something that would make it unique, something you can only do in this game. At the end of the day it's just way too basic right now. I', still hopeful for the future though, some of the leaked stuff sounds fun.
>Other fun features
Like what, digging the environment? I find that one of the worst parts of the game >No it changing how the game is played doesn't count
Okay moron, cope then I suppose
They're both good games and both are far above pretty much any other game like it since kf and l4d2

I doesn't change how the game is played. Literally doesn't >Okay moron, cope then I suppose
Don't you see you are the one coping here? Destroying holes in 40 minutes mission and destroying holes in 10 or whatever blitz is feels different to you? Who is coping here?

Do you play diff 5 or something. Blitz and normal missions play very differently in high difficulties
>And yes DRG objectives also got old pretty fast
So why did you use that game as the standard for mission design. We all know the best missions were in battlefield 2142(not to be confused with the shitty sequel released 2 years ago).
Yeah, kinda beginning to feel the same.
There's very, VERY little variety that changes up missions in actually interesting ways, and while more frequent content drops are nice, they're too light to actually keep me interested.
>Maps crashing left and right >Games that suddenly stop and I'm back in the bridge like I've just logged in >Bug spawns are completely fricked, you get to face the most annoying enemies in their roster 24/7 >Weapons still underpowered as shit outside of a few outliers >Shitty operation still ongoing that makes 90% of the game asinine tower defense missions
Not having fun anymore, even when I get a large map mission spawns are just broken and only one player out of the four sees any action the second we split up.
I've been considering getting this game, but I want to know a few things before I do.
How time consuming is this game? Will other players have a worse time if I don't grind sectors points or whatever for four hours every day?
Is there a lot of missable content, liked timed missions, limited opportunities to grind loot or cosmetics, season rewards, etc? The problem is not that I want these things, the problem is that games like that tend to rape your throat with annoying pop ups about every single fricking shade of armor tint that's available as a weekly reward.
How critical is communication in this game? Do people use headsets much? I have experience with military sims, so I'm used to coordinating actions with my team on the go, no emotes or text chat.
Do I have to convince three of my IRL friends to get a copy as well, or will I have a good enough time playing with randos?
>How time consuming is this game? Will other players have a worse time if I don't grind sectors points or whatever for four hours every day?
I don't know what the frick you're even talking about here. Just play the game if you want to play. >Is there a lot of missable content, liked timed missions, limited opportunities to grind loot or cosmetics, season rewards, etc? The only thing you're really able to miss, you've already missed, because it was preorder or twitch shit. And you can get equivilant stuff in game anyway >How critical is communication in this game? Do people use headsets much? I have experience with military sims, so I'm used to coordinating actions with my team on the go, no emotes or text chat.
Most poeple don't talk, in my experience. You can pink enemies and places, and the map, using Q or shift with the map open. You also have a limited comm wheel with things like "I need supplies" but people can also just see your ammo count and shit >Do I have to convince three of my IRL friends to get a copy as well, or will I have a good enough time playing with randos?
Not really, but having people you know will always make a game like this more fun >Is the Super Citizen Edition worth the price?
Only if you don't want to spend however little amount of time getting the super credits to buy the Steel Veteran warbond.
No "sector point" grinding here. You can just do whatever you want. No missable content. No communication needed, the game is literally soloable. No the Super Citized in not worth the price.
>Do I need to grind
No, the galactic war is artificially controlled by Devs. We don't actually have an impact >Missable content
No weapons are missable, battlepasses stay. Missions might come and go, for example the current event has a new mission type that is likely vanishing for a while after, but we don't know. There's a shop with rotating armor sets but you can just forget that exists. You'll likely never interact with it. I bought one helmet cause it was cool but wish I hadn't so I could more easily buy the other warband >Need buddies
It's more fun but randoms are fine most of the time >Super citizen
Depends. The weapons are okay to meh and obtainable for free other than I think one smg. I'm a israelite so I'd skip
>Is there a lot of missable content
Ignore all the people telling you there isn't.
Sure you can find the premium credit in game, but it takes about 20 hours of casual playing to get the amount needed to buy a battlepass. They plan to release a battlepass every month. So God forbid you play another game or take a break. You'll be very very behind and locked out of lots of weapons/booster effects unless you spend IRL money. It's very much designed to FOMO you out of $10 every few months.
>NOOOOOOOO I NEED ALL THE WEAPONS AND BATTLEPASSES AND ARMORS
his question was if he could get locked out of things. You can't. If you want the arc shotgun and you start playing in two years, you can obtain it pretty easily. The options stay
If in two years you want all the battlepasses then you'll have to play a lot or pay, yes. But that stays the same regardless of when you started or if you take months off
People who start later will likely just get the warbands they're interested in. Just like how I wont get the first premium warband because nothing in it interests me
Were. They had a Twitch Campaign that ended on Feb 18 for some green armor. Looks pretty decent, but the colors don't really work with anything else since it's kind of a forest green no other armor shares (yet). Has the bonus stims perk.
Ah, so pretty much nothing too exciting. Most I would be interested in would be recoil reduction, extra padding, and throwing modifier for stratagems. Extra stims are sort of... Meh, since I don't play a support, medic role.

>since I don't play a support, medic role
Nobody does. Everyone why I've seen play with the medic armors use the stims entirely on themselves, myself included.
Hell if you wear the heavy armor with the stim perk that's in the superstore right now and run the supply pack you are basically unkillable as long as you aren't moronic and your teammates don't TK you.

Huh. With the fact that you can stim your teammates and such, I wouldn't had been surprised if someone had a good armor with stims and a supply pack just running around giving ammo and stims to others. But then again, knowing most players on Helldivers, they just grab a railgun or an arc thrower and go try soloing shit while their team watches

Anonymous
I mean people will stim eachother and distribute ammo from the ammo pack, but I have never seen anybody do that as a dedicated role on a team.
Anonymous
Yeah, no, I'm not trying to say that stimming and giving other ammo is not a thing players do. Just sad no one takes a role for it. Since me and my friends play usually by roles, least one group, we have a tank, we have a rifleman, machinegunner, etc.

it also extends their duration for 2s, making you invincible during that time
Content stacking up while youre gone doesnt make that content missable you stupid frick.

Disingenuous homosexuals. If you buy the game a year from now, you'll have to pay out the ass just to have the ability to start grinding for weapons. Or you could play for 30 hours to collect enough SC to unlock one (1) warbond of 3 pages.
I'm ignoring SC farming because it's boring as frick, and quite literally an exploit that could get patched within the next six months.
Also, don't think you can just hoard medals while grinding SC, because the cap is laughably low (250).
If you play for the next two years casually you'll also have to pay out the ass just to have the ability to start grinding. You'd still need like 600h of playtime to unlock all the warbands most likely. Something casual players won't do
Good thing it's not missable content and you can just unlock it whenever the frick you want, huh
>it takes about 20 hours of casual playing to get the amount needed to buy a battlepass
Am I doing something wrong? I have 30 hours and 880 SC. I still have two more SCs to buy from the free warbond, but that will take a lot of missions. I'm definitely not a great player, but I do search for the flashing lights to try to loot SC. Finding it seems really rare though.
Sometimes it comes down to just not finding the POIs. Look at the map when you find ones that have the underground containers, you'll start to be able to notice them just on your map and you can head for them, since they don't have beacons over them. after 20 hours I had 800 some SC and I didn't get any from the warbond.
You don't need to grind unless you want to. It takes time to unlock everything, but you'll get there sooner or later just playing at a normal pace.
Warbonds (battlepasses) are not timed and you can find premium currency at a reasonable rate by playing the game normally. No need to spend real money unless you really want to skip the grind.
Communication is important, most random pubs don't talk but will listen. If you talk, others are more likely to talk in return, of course. The in-game pings and comm wheel do a good enough job for the most part.
It's better with friend obviously, but I play with randos at least half the time. Usually goes smoothly. Lower difficulties will be filled with more morons, as expected, but the middle and high difficulties usually have people who know how to play.
No reason to buy the super citizen thing unless you want the cosmetics, or want to unlock the first warbond right away.
A warbond costs 1000SC to unlock, and you will find on average about 20-40 SC per mission, for example. You can grind up to like 500/hr if you're autistic.
The only other thing to spend SC on currently is armor/helmets in the superstore, which are mostly cosmetic. The superstore stock is timed but if you miss something it will cycle back around in a few days.
Keep in mind each premium warband gives 300sc and you'll very likely get at least 200 of them if you're interested in weapons in the second or third tier, so that cuts into the price of them a lot too
You can also farm sc way faster than you said. Most likely around 1200-1400 solo but even higher with a partner. You can likely hit 2k
Time consuming wise - I wouldn't say it is heavily time consuming. Game has long missions, but it isn't gonna demand you to play for hours on end. It's all up to you.
Missable content - Can't comment, I have been playing for a few days myself, but there are personal orders you can miss out on that demand you do some timed quests like "Go to this planet and activate this thing to get tons of medals!". But pop ups and missable rewards - Wouldn't worry about it.
Communication is nice, unless you enjoy cluster bombing your entire squad. People will use mics, there is also chat and simple communications like marking areas and pinging areas. But having more communication while using the mic will help.
And yes, convince your friends. Game is worth full price.
No comment on how worth is the Super Citizen edition.
I don't fricking know anymore man I'm just so lost, I don't understand what is going on and how come I can no longer truly connect with anyone to enjoy each others company and just play some fricking video games I'm literally losing it, it's never been so bad
>Queue for Extreme Difficulty >spawn in >immediate tunnel breach >"okay let me just drop my hmg emplacem-" >enemies constantly spawning directly behind my back from thin air >finally manange to catch my breath for 1.5 seconds >10 more bile spewers and 3 chargers appear from ANOTHER tunnel breach >more random patrols appear from thin air directly behind me >"let me just drop my orbi-" >get ran down by a charger out of nowhere from directly behind >get up heal and try to run away >4 stalkers appear along with a few dozen hunters jump attack spamming me to death
What the frick happened to the game? everything feels spammy now
I couldn't comment, most I know is I get swarmed with insects while trying to defend myself with my SMG, then end up flung around and dying by a charger.
they reduced the number of chargers and bile titans and to balance it out they increased spawns of the rest. Though it's bugged and chargers and titans spawn same as before along with more trash.

>TWO fricking Bile Titans following me >Gajillion Scavengers, Hive Guards and Warriors skittering between their legs >Throw a 500KG and bait Titans into standing still >Perfect landing in front of one and to the side of the other amidst a sea of chitin bodies >9 kills and not a single Bile Titan dies
This game is fricked, the patch just made things worse. Chargers and Bile Titans shrug off 500KG much easier than before, incredibly frustrating.
500kg bombs need to land between a charger's legs to kill them. The problem comes from them being so tall - bombs that explode on an elevation have a wider radius to kill them with.

You were probably near an active mission objective. Enemy patrols constantly spawn all around them.
This just sounds like classic arrowhead trolling the community, the sandbox lead has been doing shit like this for years. They have a lot of animosity towards people that shit on the balance of their games.
Bros, what if the voting algorithm isn't real? What if the democratic preferences form does nothing and they're just giving the Senate seat away to the highest bidder?
How many rounds do you play a day, Ganker?
I think I'm getting old.
I get 2 or 3 rounds in and call it a night.
I'm only 38 though.
That's really young.
I can hardly do 1 most days because I'm so tired from working half the time I don't even want to eat just go straight to bed. I'm working 13 hour back to backs with 45 minute commute both ways though.
damn that sucks.
I work a comfy 8-5 with a ten minute commute.
On weekends I volunteer at the dog shelter.
I spend about an hour cooking each day as well mixed in with learning to code some python, though very slowly.
I feel like absolute shit if I just get home and waste away looking at youtube videos ,though.
I feel that mate. I work 10 hours a day for four days, and it is really exhausting, especially when being a call center moron who has to listen to people cussing, screaming and making up dumb shit. But hope you find a way to relax after work Anon.
I'm just complaining for catharsis, it's not so bad (I think), I am working 65hr weeks but I only work 3/4 or half year's and usually I just sit around reading books and watching other people work, we even have a gym at work that we can use on time. You just realize what you're actually being paid for is your "time consciousness" which is the real source of the intense stigma of sleeping at work and that there is no real compensation for your free time. The pay is incredible but it's such a surreal level of hell.
Pfft. You dick. I'm complaining for real. I'm mainly spending time by a computer, taking incoming calls about people complaining about bills, discounts and other crap. But apart from that, got free gym, free phone plan, health insurance and good pay. It is a pain to deal with, but it is a good job. Almost might be more of a pain cos I quit smoking.
It is. You are a corporate punching bags. An inanimate object that people rail against. I can sew it being frustrating if you arent stoic or you are a dunning kruger who things they deserve more.

Man, that's spot on. I'd say the job is frustrating, but at the same time, being a call center worker is the most disrespected job ever. So I know what I was signing up for.
Anyone having issues wity crashing seriousky uodate your bios and do a complete removal of all old drivers on your pc. I did this, and madr sure my ram timing was per spec and havent had so much of a hiccup wince then. Old drivers hanging around fricks with your card and can cause all kinds of weird physx glitches. I think my ram was also underclocked for some reason
It's fricking stupid and feels like shit when your hellpod controls lock out. Should have been a repulsing effect that gets stronger the closer you are to the ground, that way it would it least give you the opportunity to slip over "out of bounds" peaks before you get too close to touchdown and are forced to land in a termie moshpit / bot frickpile.
>"Hmm, its been a while since i fought bots, let me go see whats up"
I remember why I stopped, frick this double call in time shit. Going back to squashing vermin
What's (your) favorite propaganda message in the game? For me, it's >It is a SCIENTIFIC FACT that the Automatons do NOT have hearts. And heart is what managed democracy is all about!
I WANT TO PLAY FUN GAME MODES AGAIN AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH FRICK OFF WITH THIS Black folkHIT YOU SUBHUMAN SCANDOIDS REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
why do the devs refuse to give us good weapons in the game about shooting bugs? all the new primaries suck except the sickle which stops being as good once more armored mediums start spawning.
They complain everyone uses the same shit yet all but one of the new primaries are worthless garbage.
>blitzer >good for anything
play above difficulty 5 before sucking swede wiener please.
I don't want shit that's good at everything. Like I said the sickle is good and balanced because it gets walled by armored enemies (though they'll probably nerf it anyway)
it's just that the other new primaries are subpar if not useless against everything. the plasma slugger doing only 100 damage combined with all its downsides is absurd. And the blitzer's damage and arcing is ridiculously inconsistent and won't even kill a scavenger or a hunter in one hit half the time, and there are plenty of other options that do the armored killing better as well.
Poor viable weapon variety is a death knell for this kind of game and as it stands over half the primaries are worthless
I just bought the game. Can someone explain how the FRICK the shop works? What are all the different points? How do I earn them? How long does it take to get, say, ten skulls?
You get Skulls for completing missions, the harder the mission the more you get. Super credits (used to buy passes and special armor) can be found out in the field or bought with skulls/real money. Samples (green, orange and pink) are found in missions and used to upgrade your ship and cut cooldown times on various things
Thank you. What are the passes? And what's the ratio like on earning credits vs being a paypig? I heard that this game has micro transactions but they're not necessary. Just trying to get a feel for how it all works, the shop is the most confusing part.
Don't pay for anything, you get enough currency to buy everything if you play the game enough, and most of the later weapons are shit anyway compared to the few you start with
I'd say the SC earning is alright. You find plenty during missions if you go around the mission and find caches and other places where they spawn and in the first battlepass that you spent medals on, you get 5 100 SC drops for a small amount of medals. You can get enough for getting yourself sorted.
you find the premium currency on missions at minor points of interest in drops of 10 per pickup. most I've ever seen in one mission is 4 drops, but some missions do not have PoIs at all so keep that in mind. you need 1k for each premium pass, and there is a fortnite style store that cycles armors that aren't available in any pass for 100-200 super credits per piece roughly. I think it's 10 bucks per premium pass if you want to paypig, but you still need a currency earnable only by completing missions to unlock things within the pass. they also never expire so you can always go back and unlock earlier passes at any time.
Compared to other games with this kind of monetization premium currency acquisition is fairly reasonable, it's just annoying because me and the group I play with want to push 8 and 9 difficulty wise, but because we struggle on the missions we can't afford to search out every PoI, resulting in a slower grind for me. encouraging players to play only on difficulties they can hang pretty reliably on feels bad, during a mission I'm either bored because it's too easy, or annoyed because I can't earn as much currency as I'd like.
>What are the passes?
Warbonds are how you get new weapons, armor, grenades and boosts. You buy them with Super Credits and can then spend warbond medals (what the other posted called "skulls") to get equipment from it. Each warbond is made up of a bunch of pages, you need to spend a certain amount of medals to unlock later pages.
As for earning SC, it's a bit random, but I got my first 1k from just playing the game at around 20 hours, without spending any medals to get SC from the warbonds. I was hoping for a "casual play in a month is enough to get the next months warbond" and it certainly feels like they've hit that goal. I also had enough to get two items from the super store, which also uses super credits.
>first post launch premium pass drops >the first weapon in the pass is seemingly the new best primary
you lads ready for the power creep of this game to go insane?
>power creep
not when the other weapons in the pass are as useful as a turd launcher even then that might be better at getting the bugs to go away.
sickle was a happy accident likely to get nerfed
Sickle was in the first game too, where it was the best primary. It's not as good in 2. Especially against bots, I think the Diligence is one of the best, if you can click heads
The first one, the counter sniper has more damage but it doesn't seem to make a difference against most enemies. the reduced capacity and increased recoil doesn't seem worth it
The first one, the counter sniper has more damage but it doesn't seem to make a difference against most enemies. the reduced capacity and increased recoil doesn't seem worth it
Diligence (non counter-sniper) two-shots Devastators and one-shots all but the double sword melee human-sized bots if you hit the head. It two-shots any human-sized if you hit anywhere else. It's really good against bots.
post launch premium pass drops >>the first weapon in the pass is seemingly the new best primary
What are you talking about? Which gun, the Sickle? It's just an energy liberator and the liberator was always slightly above average but nothing special. It's nowhere near as good as the SMG or the breaker or the slugger.
I JUST FILMED CLEAR EVIDENCE OF THE ILLUMINATE IN MY LAST MISSION NOT EVEN 10 MINUTES AGO
LOOK AT THE VIDEO, THERE WAS NOTHING AND NO ONE TO THE NORTH OF ME ON MY RADAR, I'M FIGHTING BUGS BUT GOT SHOT TWICE IN THE SIDE BY TWO BLUE LASERS
ITS FRICKING HAPPENING, THEY'RE ALREADY HERE
You step on two plants in a row that shoot projectiles. Deflected shots turn blue. There are 3 blue lines visible in one frame 12s in, meaning either you were sniped by 3 invisible snipers from 3 different directions that did 0 damage to you, or 3 projectiles from the plant were deflected by your armor.
why the frick are so many people running arc throwers, the new armor is gonna have to be mandatory soon with the ways these c**ts keep turning around and blasting
>why the frick are so many people running arc throwers
Being told that the Railgun is trash now has gotten a lot of people trying out other weapons, and right now the Arc Thrower has been a weapon that people have said was "being slept on" even the VA for the opening trailer guy's saying it's a great tool, but at least he mentioned needing coordination.
I hate the masses who just do what the streamers tell them is good rather than judging for themselves. Been using the arc thrower since day one and now I'm seeing a bunch of buttholes using it who don't understand how to avoid friendly fire.
I hate the masses who just do what the streamers tell them is good rather than judging for themselves. Been using the arc thrower since day one and now I'm seeing a bunch of buttholes using it who don't understand how to avoid friendly fire.
aren't the people pushing difficulty 9 missions using it? people flocked to the railgun/shield so it could be a case of metagays just looking up what the best players are using and mimicking it without understanding how to use it
I haven't seen a SINGLE railgun since the patch, it has been completely abandoned lmao, I wonder what the devs will say to that now that the railgun extraction rate has went from 80% to 5%
Also, Ganker, what would you suggest weapon-wise for a newbie? I have played around with all weapons - Shotguns are nice, assault rifles are good, DMRs I heard have a damage bug, SMGs are perfect, and support weapons like Stalwart makes me imagine myself as a soldier in D-Day wielding an MG-42.
Yeah, I was thinking the liberator was good on them, but almost all guns do well on Bugs. Bots... Have not had a lot of experience with them, but I'll try the breaker on them next time.
And good to know the buzzsaw a.k.a machine gun is a good pick. Still love the fact you can flick it to 1150 RPM and just watch it tear bugs to pieces.
SMG and Breaker are still top tier. Support weapon should be something anti-armor on any difficulty above 4. Before that pretty much anything you'd like is usable.
I've actually found Silio missions go faster if you activate two at once because it forces bugs to prioritize one silo and so they end up spending most of start up time moving instead.
But there's a greater risk of the silos getting fricked by multiple directions with not enough defenders. I've found that the game usually only dumps a frickton of enemies on silo 1. Silos 2 and 3 are usually easy no matter what.
Gatling Sentry or EMS mortar or both take one side while you take the other side.
When I activate two silos at once the game usually ends up spawing bugs from one side since its probably trying not to crash.
Sometimes absolutely nothing. Maybe they were making room for a friend, or threw a tantrum because they fricked something up and wanted a scapegoat. I got kicked the other day for absolutely nothing.
if I'm host I only kick if we're trying to push a high difficulty and a low level joins, or if a rando is repeatedly killing people on purpose. had some rando blow my head off because I took his sample case so I booted his ass outta there. usually I have a full group though because playing this game with randos seems like an exercise in frustration
That's one of those lapses in mental cognition that I don't quite understand. If you pick up somebody's support weapon or hop in their mech and their next ones are on cooldown I can understand why they might get mad and TK you for it back, if they aren't civilized enough to ask first.
But the sample container, why? It doesn't matter who makes it out with them. The game tells you to pick up samples from your dead comrades if they drop them.
Reminds me of me and my friends playing and one of the dudes would constantly end up trying to melee me and TKing me, which was funny cos he ran into cluster bombs and orbitals and was basically being reckless. He left and we ended up doing higher difficulties and other fun stuff.
>playing this game with randos seems like an exercise in frustration
it can be. but it's also exhilarating when the ragtag gets their shit together and becomes a well-oiled machine halfway through the mission. rarely happens though.
When why did you say that if you had no idea? I only know one person who plays on PS5 instead of PC but we can't accept eachother's friend requests. If linking a PS account was the fix for that I feel like that would be a commonly known fact, but it's not.
>bile spewer diarrhea artilleried >hit by an eagle >reinforced into three chargers and a bile titan >hit by an eagle again >extract >everyone else was fine
seems I'm the shitter today, unfortunate
I've moved on, its the same spawn of enemies on the same feeling map doing the same feeling objectives. Weapon balance is still shit so you're taking in pretty much the same equipment each time.
I much prefer the curated mission style of EDF where each mission has a strategy and equipment choice to overcome.
Also grinding another 1k SC and medals for the the new banner just to unlock weapons that are probably shit isn't much incentive to keep playing.
I got 70 hours out of it, I had my fun. I just don't think the game as very good legs. Maybe come back long time from now when there's been lots of updates but meh.
7 has been my comfort difficulty after unlocking 9, and I will fight anyone that insults me.
I don't understand why would anyone go through the moronic elite and hunter/rpg trooper spam that is anything beyond 9.
The rewards are not worth it, sorry.
Since the patch bot difficulty 7 feels exactly the same as 9 anyway. I get constant bot drops on 7 where the ship is 100% rocket devastators, and it has two other dropships accompanying with 100% rocket troops. If they dropped tanks and hulks instead like they (supposedly) do more on 9 it would honestly be a relief.
For bugs it doesn't matter any more either. Chargers and BTs are no longer an issue in any numbers thanks to EATs and mechs respectively.
In practice the actual difficulty barely changes from 7-9 on either side now.
for me I found when in duo there are way less big boy enemies on 7 for bots. I run heavy armor, explosive resistance, slugger, airstrike, shield, mortar sentry, and 1 other
if you are swarmed you can nade yourself and kill shit
you can stun bile titans and hulks
you can stun stalkers making them a free kill
you can save your teammates under any of these conditions
you have a grenade you can throw at the silos on TCS
idk i've found countless situations i've been very happy to have the stun nade for, absolutely god tier
>Throw 1 impact at group of hunters >Kill less than half of them and get jumped >Throw 1 stun at group of hunters >Kill all of them with your weapon while they are stunned
you can stun a bile titan which gives you more leeway in dropping 500kg bombs on it
alternatively if you're being rushed by chargers or hunters you can use it for breathing space
for the record you get the most free kill on earth on chargers if you're using the arc thrower. literally non issue, if you see one getting up in your shit just chuck a nade and he's got a death sentence. if you run the scorcher you can consistently dick kick the bile titans as well every time with the 500kg by sac popping then dropping the 500kg
It's shit-tier against large swarms since the more times it arcs the less damage it does. It's S-tier against single target enemies like brood commanders.
Anonymous
>damage is based on a factor you can't control >brood commanders are usually with other bugs
there's no reason to use it, it's not even fun to use given how little control you have
Stunning bile titans/chargers so you can line up orbital strikes/bombs. Orbital railgun does a pretty good job on its own but has a long ass cooldown. With stun grenades you can run precision strike and pretty much guarantee a hit.
at this point i have to guess what mission it is based on other players loadouts, if they have a bunch of turrets then it's gonna be some shitty defense mission
I'm gonna go gorge the Nolvus pack for Skyrim then head on back to Helldivers after a couple weeks.
Still probably gonna try to do an Operation a day though.
The gray market has become so much less convenient over the years. I remember buying new games at like 20 buck now it's like >It's 10 bucks off >But only if you have premium plus gold membership otherwise it's 5 bucks off >Also buy a 4 bucks buyer protection thing or we'll send you a fake key lol
It's not gray market. Every store I've seen on isthereanydeal is just a reseller like the humble
store.
Hell even sega lists places like fanatical as partners.
https://www.sega.com/sega-approved-partner-list
No idea but I assume by grey market, you mean sites like CDKey and such? Cos I used Fanatical mainly for bundles and never ran into an issue like this.
My friends are trying to get me to buy this game. I normally only play single player games. I haven't really played online games since the ps360 generation. Whats so good about it? To me it looks like standard boring online shit like destiny and the division and warframe.
Probably. This happened with that meme spaceship alien game I forget name of back in 2020 I think it was. They all asked me to get the game and I played it with them once and then never played it again as they had got bored of it at that point.
It's not really attempting to be an mmo in the same way as any of those, so there's less grind but also probably less staying power
I'd compare it more to something like Darktide, L4D and magicka, the gaas shit is there in the form of battle passes, but that's just how the progression works
sickle's starting to run its course a bit for me. It's good but it does nothing against bile spewers and almost nothing to nursing spewers which is actually a problem
i'd run autocannon with sickle to compensate but the AC is useless against bug heavies
I've considered going as far as running AC and EATs to fix that but at that point why when i could just go back to slugger which kills all non-heavies just fine lol
Okay I tried Sickle AC and EATs and it was actually pretty effective since you get EATs back so quickly, still hard to say if it's worth it over just running Slugger with a heavy killer instead though lol
they introduced a 15-20 minute afker timer after they had the player limit because people were logging in then afking
guess they didnt bother to remove it
>didn't understood why Black folk like to farm >found 6 medals and 20 super creds in a 20s walk next to each other
frick, now I see it, I don't even need the supercreds
yeah, I thought I didn't wanna bother but then I tried it and found a crate with two SC drops and another single SC drop close together and it was over
at least I sorta like the new warbond I guess, the gun is alright
Hunters on launch were not even noticeable. In the first patch they """""fixed"""""" armor to not protect you at all and added enemy headshots, so hunters can deal massive damage with their jump attack by hitting your head. In the same patch they also massively ramped up enemy counts. Then in the next patch they reduced heavy enemy counts, but in exchange small enemy counts went ballistic, which means you can run into a group of 12+ hunters at a time, something that never happened on launch
laser drone is based for killing them
the spawnrate changes are killing the game for me, been logging on less. Its like shit never stops fricking spawning.
I get having waves of enemies swamp you but this is just infinite patrols and enemies teleported right behind you all the time now
this is not what people meant by lowering the chargers and bile titan spam, we just wanted the sandbox to be more viable after tier 6.
>spawn reduction booster
that's not what it does you mongoloid, it merely gives you an extra second when the enemies are spawning a breach to kill them
HOLY SHIT
No one told me how fricking hype solo sneaking is, or that units in smoke can't seem to call for backup?
I just did a mission solo and that felt fricking full mgs5 infiltration shit
Those machines didn't see me coming at all that was awesome
I was crawling past like 50 boys between two bushes was nerve racking as hell
Don't forget eagle smoke
You use it to smoke em before killing and to bail when caught
I didn't even use a silenced weapon I had EATS, Eagle Smoke, and a galling sentry to draw attention away for retreating or fighting. Only could bring 3 due to AA
Due to being bad I still only barely made it out but man most objectives I was hidden and dodging patrols
the npc on the ship commented they barely knew I was there too which is that a normal message or what?
So, instead of using silenced weapons, you mainly used turrets, smokes and EATS to survive. Haven't gotten too far in the game, but I get enough requisitions to get the smokes and EATs, will give this a shot.
Would be fun to try and sneak around then getting somewhere high and just hosing bugs down with bullets from an MG.
Where am I supposed to shoot the green bile spewers? The green sacks, legs, and head all feel like they take the same amount of damage. Even when you shoot the legs off it doesn't feel like they slow down.
The green sacs and other similar body parts on bugs are weak to explosions. one shot from the nade launcher BTFOs them. It's a weak spot on titans too, though there are more effective ways to kill them it's decent in a pinch
FRICK SPEWERS
FRICK SPEWERS
FRICK THOSE GODDAMN Black folk
CHARGERS? EASY
BILE TITANS? EASY
BUT FRICKING SPEWERS WITH THEIR 'BLAAAARGH' INSTAKILL BULLSHIT IS STUPID
this is what I hate of the new patch, previously if patrols walked past you they just fricking walked past you, now they do a sudden 180 off camera and suddenly the entire map knows where you are, fricking stupid
EDF FANS ARE HELLDIVERS FANS SINCE 2015! If you like Helldivers than you are now an EDF fan and are obligated to preorder EDF 6 and all of it's dlc or else you are a seething tendie
The laser rover gets me 200-300 more kills than any member of the team without one, every mission without exception. You can run away from 100 hunters and they'll all die trying to follow you.
it used to suck because the breaker did such a good job of clearing mobs, but now that they nerfed the breaker your loadout tends to focus on either heavy support weapons or mob weapon that are useless when the bugs come into melee range, which is where the rover helps fill the gap
the laser one is still nice vs bugs, the gun one i think sucks.
eventually though I found I'd rather not get clipped by a charger or looking away from a hunter 2 seconds and get slowed at the wrong time so I use shield.
just tried it and I'm pretty sure it carried me through this quickplay
walked out with 750 kills to 200 and below for everyone else and I know goddamn well I did not fire that many slugs
yeah but dataminers already sniff those things out way before it starts being teased in games, so if you want to avoid being spoiled you gotta avoid them >What's an example?
well the most recent thing is the bird enemies
a recently started mission type is where you start up some dispersion towers that let out some.. questionable gas
once people started completing those missions, on rare occasions you can briefly run into a new enemy type that appears to have been influenced by that gas
that was never teased or promoted, people learned about it because someone uploaded footage of it online
there were mechs you could sometimes find before they officially came out. some were dead lying around on the planet that produces the mechs, that we were tasked to defend. also ones that you could find 1 here or there at points of interest but not every map, it was rare.
the propaganda terminals for 'stop the illegal broadcast' has TV screens claiming we're responsible for the bugs spreading
they had plans but they all busted once 400k people arrived to liberate the galaxy instead of 10k, now they just come up with ways to keep people engaged
>join a team with 3 people under level 25 >pick stamina or muscle enhancement because none of them have it >land, realize I only have half Stimson and nades >miraculously, not one of them pick hellpod space optimization >return to ship alone
>people cheat left and right >people say anti-cheat was just to prevent super credit cheats >exploit found in first week to farm super creds like crazy >devs do nothing to patch it
So uh, what was the point of the anti-cheat again?
Well obviously they need to secure the war effort, otherwise they would need to do something obnoxious like making multiple manual adjustments every day, rendering peoples work irrelevant
the community were wienerriding the devs anyway, defending the anti cheat drm even though its already been compromised to the point where linux users can just walk around it and cheat easily.
>used to use those spore plants on bot planets to break LOS >latest patch >run towards one to escape bot army on my ass >smoke cloud, but also get tossed into the air >rocket trooper rockets me before I can get back up
Reminder that the illuminates will sabotage the termicide towers and cause the bugs to mutate and then begin their invasion, while that happens the automatons will take cyberstan
The anti-Helldivers shit that goes on in these threads is really pathetic. Good to know that I'm not a troony, a third-world brownie, or some other flavor of animal that gets upset at a fricking video game.
saw someone a while ago wonder if stun grenades closed holes
can 'confirm' they do not, or at least they sure as hell didn't for me, so I guess I'm still running autocannon
hey will this game ban me for calling some a homosexual? I had after some guy got mad for reinforcing him 100 ft away from his shield which was too far away and he was crying about it
Buddy he was 1-2 squares away and I was clearing nests and getting tons of samples with 1 other guy. I could understand if he was on the other side of the map. We were literally in firing range of where he was.
I would say the redeemer is slightly better, but otherwise it is way better than both the peacemaker and senator.
Redeemer is better as an oh shit backup weapon, while laser pistol is better if you're using a slugger or scorcher in primary and plan on killing most lightly armored enemies with your laser while preserving primary ammo.
I actually feel a little bad for the gays who decide to play Helldivers in a couple months/years and miss out on the journey of a story happening. They'll have mechs/warthogs but won't understand what happened to get them.
man i sure love getting sniped across the map through thick fog by one hundred rocket bots, rocket devs, tanks, and those goddamn sentry towers with the guaranteed tank spawn bases
Why can't the automatons accept managed democracy? Even their cold heartless processors should be able to understand the mathematical optimality of super earth's government.
Cap the framerate to 60 FPS.
I'm on a 7800X3D and it was running at around 75-80c with a Hyper 212 (Not an amazing cooler or anything) went down atleast 5 - 10c. I suspect the DRM/Anti Cheat is so shit it puts extra strain on your cpu.
I didn't cheap out, its a temporary cooler until I get my replacement from an RMA. Even then I dont even push above 65c on total war warhammer III and that game is VERY cpu intensive.

either way it won't hurt your cpu, you can try to stress test it in something ever more demanding like multi core cinebench test. if it won't hit 90c there you cpu won't throttle in any game workload
Single CCD Ryzen CPUs like the 5800X3D generally run pretty hot due their physical architecture. 77c is not too bad, it only starts to throttle around 93c and has to shut down around 100c.
You can take out almost every bot on an incoming dropship and bug nests. Do not fire it at your feet. You're aiming for the long game not the short-mid range.
>Teammate takes minefield on Termicide mission >Litters mines all over the silos >Does frick all to te bugs. >Blows everyone up any time they need to run even 10 feet away from a heavy. >Prevents us from walking around the silo.
This must be the worst strategem in the game, holy shit
I used it once when the daily order was to kill 30 bugs using it, and I think I ended up with like 6 or 7 friendly kills no matter how hard I tried to put them away from us and tried to warn people. So yeah, it sucks.
it's good for chucking intoareas where >you'll never walk into like the enemy spawns in eradication missions
or >where there will be so many bugs that by the time the fight's over all the mines are gone
Termicide mission is fricking cancer
frick this mission
it sucks
its the worst tower defense shit ive played
they dont even have turrets or anything to make it interesting and the ai spawns from directions instead of hordes like an army from the outskirts which would be way better
Im the opposite: When I quickplay in I usually see everyone carrying Railcanons, EATs, 500KG, 380MM. I then go GL + Supply Backpack, Gas and EMS to control the hordes.
>mobility punishment: the game >charger straight up either ignoring laws of physics or is stuck >Press R to reload: Electric Boogaloo >Bug nests having shit hitboxes >Hellbomb doesnt reliably destroy infrastructure >see players reinforce themselves into water and drowning >people purposefully skipping objectives because a youtuber told them so >metagays killing low levels and not reinforcing shocked when killed in return
meme game, loving every second
If you hit it literally in its tiny mouth you can do damage to it from the front. Realistically it's much easier to just blow its butthole out and watch it bleed to death.
I wish the adding and accepting friend requests function worked. Maybe it's just an issue with the crossplay because it seems like I can't accept requests from PS players
if I join a higher difficulty mission, then it's a mixed bag on whether they'll be a good and/or fun team or not. If I host on higher difficulty, there's a chance nobody joins and I don't run loadouts for solo runs, because that's not what I'm trying to do. But if I host on a lower difficulty, 4-6, the party fills up instantly but they usually don't want to move to a higher difficulty
a lot of people think the "pay 2 win" weapons are actually worse than the normal ones, but regardless, you can sooner or later buy everything without any grinding, just playing the game.
somewhere in between, I guess
it isn't just cosmetics in the premium warbonds but alot of the guns are so shit that you'd probably rather have nice gold, even the 'good' laser rifle is just a slightly better liberator that goes through heatsinks faster on warm planets
>free pass
Everything you will actually need >paid pass
maybe a side grade, if that? You can grind premium currency easy so spending money is just to skip to it.
>Play with randoms >One team are idiots, airstrike my mech on first try >Walk into tesla tower despite my repeated pre-warnings. >Walk into each other line of fire, eating up reinforcements. >Only I, the host have anti-heavies weapons >Fission Mailed. >New team of randoms, >Flawless victory.
Some people are shitters and have no sense of awareness.
I live in Alaska and only have 250 gb/month of fast internet.
Any chads here know about how much data/hour this game uses? Or is anyone willing to track their data usage for an hour while playing for me? I’d greatly appreciate it. I want to play this so fricking bad and I can afford the 100gb download but if it’s sucking bandwidth I might have to pass. Reddit cucks I’ve found when googling for this don’t have a good answer. Will Ganker come through?
I live in Kotz so I’m absolutely cucked by GCI. It’s fricking bullshit they even have data caps given there’s a fiber optic line connecting us to the rest of the world.
You’re a king. I think your router’s interface should say. Might have to just write down data usage at the top of the hour and then compare it after playing an hour.
had a download a 3rd party program to view this info already stored on my computer because modern Microsoft fricking sucks
anyway, quickly reading the instructions, looks like Windows collects data every hour (roughly) on how much data a program is sending or receiving, and stores it in a file that only Windows itself can access and doesn't allow you to view (without using a 3rd party program like this one). So it looks like about half a gig per hour.
However, this is just one sample, could be off. I haven't played in a couple days and they added a bunch of new shit in a recent update, so this is likely higher than usual because I've only been playing for about an hour. I can't say that for certain, though.
btw, this 3rd party program revealed a bunch of built-in windows programs (that I don't recognize) that are sending and receiving a bunch of information, without asking any sort of permission from me. Very cool.
anyway, hopefully this info is useful for you, but it's likely an outlier, but I'm posting it anyway because it was such a pain in the ass to acquire it
You’re a saint. Thanks for downloading Chinese spyware for me m8.
A little confused about the numbers though. At ~7:50 it says about 1gb in total and then at ~8:50 it says 32 mb? Is it saying what has been used in the previous hour? That’s a pretty big disparity and 32mb for an hour of play seems super low while 1gb is pretty high. Most games are at around 200-300 mb/hour. What’s your interpretation? Some folks are saying their data usage is spiking playing this game so maybe 1gb/hour is to be expected.

Can't say for sure. First time using this program, and the data it's reading is already different from what regular usage would look like, so I can't offer you anything besides vaguely educated conjecture. And the thread will be dead before I can get enough more sample to find an average.
I'll keep an eye on the data and if I see a similar question in one of these threads, I'll have it ready to go.
Until then, good luck, and I don't think the hourly data rates are that high, but I'm guessing they spike at updates. Based on your limit, I'd assume you could get 30-60 hours of gameplay a month without any trouble, but I could be completely wrong.
i think playing with randoms increases the difficulty by 2 ticks. With friends we can easily beat 8 and usually beat 9, meanwhile random players will pick a level 7 mission and somehow instantly run off in different directions and die. Or throw down a mortar and everyone else dies.
Did multiplayer just die for everyone? I hotjoined into a cool group of 3 guys and we had a great mission, and then all 3 of them vanished at once with no message and all the enemy AI bugged. I had to stealth out of the mission alone. Now when joining I get the infinite loading glitch and can't get in.
for bugs
light engineer

stun grenades are just so nice to have that i don't think i can let go of the engineer passive. i managed to stun 3 chargers in one spot and got them all with a single precision strike.

>start an egg mission >entire team clears ALL the map >take my GL >Drive by every main objective >call the extract >leave >MASSIVE SEETHE in the chat and in coms
always host, never join.
>host or join a group >get a full party >whenever people leave they never get replaced >restart the game >immediately get a full party again
Is this intended behavior, or did they just never playtest the game for homosexuals playing the game 2-4+ hours at a time without a dedicated friend group?
>the best armor in the game is light armor
ftfy. Each of them have their upsides to suit how you like to play. I'm partial to the breaker armor for +2 grenades and it goes nicely with the new cape from the warbond.
Honestly I got so used to dying in 2 hits that I can avoid just about everything and still go fast in light armor. They better add some new enemies and crossfaction battles to spice it up soon cause I'm used to bot and bug tricks.
>hmm, good mission except...the lower than average sample collection.... >WELL b***h MAYBE YOU CAN GO GRAB THOSE SAMPLE YOURSELF SOMEWHERE NEAR THE CORPSES OF MY 20 DEAD FRIENDS!!!!
Why are all the sniper rifles like the countersniper so fricking laggy on their aim?
What I mean in that is the time it takes for the actual weapon to line up with the tiny dot.
The line-up time is as bad as the literal fricking autocannon on the countersniper. Surely, this isn't meant to be the weapon I have to do precision shots with, right?
I've been spreading my seed onto Eagle-1s face
fresh from the meme oven
I thank you for the freshest meme, Anon
>Not reinforced to reinforce
Not saving.
kino
will ppl get mad at me if i join difficulty 7 at level 16?
Nobody cares tbe honest but you're gonna die
The people that would get mad about that would get mad no matter the difficulty.
I was doing diff 8s no problem at that level
People still kick me sometimes when I drop in at 31. No idea what these idiots are thinking. Every stratagem you really need to be viable is unlocked by level 10.
At level 16 you already have all the Eagle strikes, and expendable AT rockets. More than enough.
well it depends if you're good or not, i got to helldiver at level 16, but i was outkilling level 30s - 40s and not dying and i know how to easily kill every enemy in the game
but if you air strike and team fire your team mates and extract with 40 kills and 8 deaths you need to stay at the lower difficulties
no offense but we need less shitters queing up the higher difficulties
>we need less
this is EXACTLY how i feel about fat, sweaty gamers
>outkilling level 30s - 40s
Anyone can kill a shitton of enemies, just blast breaches forever. Meanwhile, I've soloed every objective killing only 40 enemies. You're welcome.
I mean, I was playing with some high level guys and they were telling me I did good for a low-level. If ya got the skill, you can do it.
If they get mad for something like that they're losers.
It's video games.
If you join my game you better be fricking killing bugs and bots.
What if instead of killing bugs, I'm cluster bombing you and other teammates, Anon?
if you pick good stratagems they typically shouldn't, but you always have elitist c**ts so your mileage may vary
I don't think most people will care. You already have access to explosives that can clear objectives and take down the toughest enemies.
Why? I got to diff 8 at lvl 10 and I haven't lost once. This game is made for morons.
There's plenty of objectives that aren't that
>Blitz
>Eradication
>Sssd
>Silos
>Eggs
And the ones you've just mindlessly boiled down to "touch terminal and wait" are still often different from one another
>Blitz
>Run to holes and throw nade at it
>Eradication
>sit in center and plop down defensive stratagems
>SSD
>run to Automaton base and throw a Stratagem at it
>Silos
>run to obj, activate, wait
>Eggs
>run to eggs and throw nade at them
None of the mission types change the way you okay the game, except for the defensive missions. But I personally don't find them very interesting. Compare it to a more fleshed out game like DRG with the sorry escort missions or pipeline missions and you'll see how glaring the disparity is.
I'm sure they'll add some new and interesting shit over time, but as it is now once You've played like 3 hours of this game you've seen everything it has to offer
>literally every game type
>just shoot something and interact with an object
See, I can be reductionist too. Real sorry to see you go, though.
Such a moronic argument, but sure, if you do the same to DRG:
>shoot things while protecting moving drill
>shoot things while building pipe lines through map
>shoot things while mining
See the issue yet? Go back to r/Helldivers if you want to gargle dev wiener and pretend they're perfect indie angels in their dev team of 100 people backed by the largest gaming corporation in history. The game is good but it has some big issues keeping it from being great.
cry more, gay
Ironic coming from a Deep Redditor, how long have you had rockpozz for?
We can go further.
>Push buttons
>have fun.
>Drg
literally every single mission is "move to spot, interact with things, shoot bugs"
It's so fricking boring
I can't believe they haven't added a single new mission type since the game came out that isn't basically identical to every single other mission type
>Blitz
>Eradication
Can you really call these an objective? You destroy holes/factories and kill enemies every single mission. It doesnt add any variety.
Yes because now they're the goal and they play differently because you have a lot less time to frick around with and in the case of eradication, a lot less space.
Since some other anon brought up drg, a lot of drg missions are already shit you do in every drg mission.
>Mine for eggs
>Mine for morkite
>Kill bugs around betsy as you wait
>Kill bugs around....
I find that one of the worst parts of the game
>No it changing how the game is played doesn't count
Okay moron, cope then I suppose
They're both good games and both are far above pretty much any other game like it since kf and l4d2
I doesn't change how the game is played. Literally doesn't
>Okay moron, cope then I suppose
Don't you see you are the one coping here? Destroying holes in 40 minutes mission and destroying holes in 10 or whatever blitz is feels different to you? Who is coping here?
Do you play diff 5 or something. Blitz and normal missions play very differently in high difficulties
>And yes DRG objectives also got old pretty fast
So why did you use that game as the standard for mission design. We all know the best missions were in battlefield 2142(not to be confused with the shitty sequel released 2 years ago).
Have they removed the kernel anticheat?
actually yes
removed in today's patch
https://steamcommunity.com/app/553850
umm wrong?
The game gets old really fast. Every mission feels the same and combat, while decent, isn't good enough to carry this game on it's own.
Yeah, kinda beginning to feel the same.
There's very, VERY little variety that changes up missions in actually interesting ways, and while more frequent content drops are nice, they're too light to actually keep me interested.
>Maps crashing left and right
>Games that suddenly stop and I'm back in the bridge like I've just logged in
>Bug spawns are completely fricked, you get to face the most annoying enemies in their roster 24/7
>Weapons still underpowered as shit outside of a few outliers
>Shitty operation still ongoing that makes 90% of the game asinine tower defense missions
Is the Super Citizen Edition worth the price?
>How time consuming is this game? Will other players have a worse time if I don't grind sectors points or whatever for four hours every day?
I don't know what the frick you're even talking about here. Just play the game if you want to play.
>Is there a lot of missable content, liked timed missions, limited opportunities to grind loot or cosmetics, season rewards, etc? The problem is not that I want these things, the problem is that games like that tend to rape your throat with annoying pop ups about every single fricking shade of armor tint that's available as a weekly reward.
The only thing you're really able to miss, you've already missed, because it was preorder or twitch shit. And you can get equivilant stuff in game anyway
>How critical is communication in this game? Do people use headsets much? I have experience with military sims, so I'm used to coordinating actions with my team on the go, no emotes or text chat.
Most poeple don't talk, in my experience. You can pink enemies and places, and the map, using Q or shift with the map open. You also have a limited comm wheel with things like "I need supplies" but people can also just see your ammo count and shit
>Do I have to convince three of my IRL friends to get a copy as well, or will I have a good enough time playing with randos?
Not really, but having people you know will always make a game like this more fun
>Is the Super Citizen Edition worth the price?
Only if you don't want to spend however little amount of time getting the super credits to buy the Steel Veteran warbond.
No "sector point" grinding here. You can just do whatever you want. No missable content. No communication needed, the game is literally soloable. No the Super Citized in not worth the price.
>Do I need to grind
No, the galactic war is artificially controlled by Devs. We don't actually have an impact
>Missable content
No weapons are missable, battlepasses stay. Missions might come and go, for example the current event has a new mission type that is likely vanishing for a while after, but we don't know. There's a shop with rotating armor sets but you can just forget that exists. You'll likely never interact with it. I bought one helmet cause it was cool but wish I hadn't so I could more easily buy the other warband
>Need buddies
It's more fun but randoms are fine most of the time
>Super citizen
Welp, I bought it a minute ago.
Oh well, for the warning anyway. We'll see.
If you don't plan to play a game for 20h a month why would you care about buying battlepasses?
>NOOOOOOOO I NEED ALL THE WEAPONS AND BATTLEPASSES AND ARMORS
his question was if he could get locked out of things. You can't. If you want the arc shotgun and you start playing in two years, you can obtain it pretty easily. The options stay
If in two years you want all the battlepasses then you'll have to play a lot or pay, yes. But that stays the same regardless of when you started or if you take months off
People who start later will likely just get the warbands they're interested in. Just like how I wont get the first premium warband because nothing in it interests me
Content stacking up while youre gone doesnt make that content missable you stupid frick.
That's not what "missable" means, you moron. The only stuff that's missable are the preorder and Twitch drop armors.
There are Twitch armor drops???
I mean people will stim eachother and distribute ammo from the ammo pack, but I have never seen anybody do that as a dedicated role on a team.
Yeah, no, I'm not trying to say that stimming and giving other ammo is not a thing players do. Just sad no one takes a role for it. Since me and my friends play usually by roles, least one group, we have a tank, we have a rifleman, machinegunner, etc.
it also extends their duration for 2s, making you invincible during that time
Disingenuous homosexuals.
That's still not missable content.
People 'farm' sc by just going to a lvl 1 mission, finding the SC at the poi and leaving the game
You can get about 40 in 5 minutes, 400 in 50 minutes
Are you moronic? SC farm nets you about 600/h if you do it right. Which is still less than minimum wage, but anyway.
You sound clinically autistic.
you sound incredibly moronic
kys and never come back
Hey, let's be nice here! We can all enjoy the game without hating on each other. Everything's binary in the end, right?
Pathetic. The game is fun. Play it if you like, moron.
Fricking sick of you gays that just want content with no barrier to entry. Woman behavior.
yes
fighting bots > fighting bugs
No because I don't have a group of friends that I've met years ago that I could play all the co-op / multiplayer fotm games with. Unlucky, I guess.
Time to find them by playing a coop form game then anon
How do you think you make friends
I don't fricking know anymore man I'm just so lost, I don't understand what is going on and how come I can no longer truly connect with anyone to enjoy each others company and just play some fricking video games I'm literally losing it, it's never been so bad
This sounds like a great time to go to a therapist Anon. Get him to give you normal pills. Maybe he'll even tell you to quit Ganker.
Because you spend too much time on Ganker letting them tell you what to feel and think.
Well, you could go play with randoms, but considering my experience was - Do one mission and get booted, I hope you find people to play with.
>Queue for Extreme Difficulty
>spawn in
>immediate tunnel breach
>"okay let me just drop my hmg emplacem-"
>enemies constantly spawning directly behind my back from thin air
>finally manange to catch my breath for 1.5 seconds
>10 more bile spewers and 3 chargers appear from ANOTHER tunnel breach
>more random patrols appear from thin air directly behind me
>"let me just drop my orbi-"
>get ran down by a charger out of nowhere from directly behind
>get up heal and try to run away
>4 stalkers appear along with a few dozen hunters jump attack spamming me to death
>TWO fricking Bile Titans following me
>Gajillion Scavengers, Hive Guards and Warriors skittering between their legs
>Throw a 500KG and bait Titans into standing still
>Perfect landing in front of one and to the side of the other amidst a sea of chitin bodies
>9 kills and not a single Bile Titan dies
This game is fricked, the patch just made things worse. Chargers and Bile Titans shrug off 500KG much easier than before, incredibly frustrating.
500kg bombs need to land between a charger's legs to kill them. The problem comes from them being so tall - bombs that explode on an elevation have a wider radius to kill them with.
A 500KG is not a guaranteed kill against Titans.
You were probably near an active mission objective. Enemy patrols constantly spawn all around them.
Out fricking skilled
This just sounds like classic arrowhead trolling the community, the sandbox lead has been doing shit like this for years. They have a lot of animosity towards people that shit on the balance of their games.
Shit dead game, in 1 week there will be no threads about it
>My life is miserable and I want everyone else's to be miserable too!
You c**ts don't deserve to have fun, too bad you picked a dead shit game, everyone's already moved on
Bros, what if the voting algorithm isn't real? What if the democratic preferences form does nothing and they're just giving the Senate seat away to the highest bidder?
How many rounds do you play a day, Ganker?
I think I'm getting old.
I get 2 or 3 rounds in and call it a night.
I'm only 38 though.
That's really young.
>38
have a nice day, dinosaur frick
No
I can hardly do 1 most days because I'm so tired from working half the time I don't even want to eat just go straight to bed.
Are you an actual gigachad or something, sounds like you are living a dream.
He's living the way of life that a strictly-defended system of managed democracy supports for everyone!
Oh, shit, you're right! Let's hope no bugs come to the dog shelters for a snack.
Almost might be more of a pain cos I quit smoking.
>doing nothing all day is hard work
Your job is piss easy moron. You find it unsatisfying because its meaningless.
I dunno if sitting there listening to clients is doing nothing.
So I know what I was signing up for.
>that’s really young
It’s literally middle age.
>how many rounds per day do you play
Idk like 20, when the kids get up I know it’s time to stop.
Let me play as the bots and spread fully automated space communism instead.
Should have been a repulsing effect that gets stronger the closer you are to the ground, that way it would it least give you the opportunity to slip over "out of bounds" peaks before you get too close to touchdown and are forced to land in a termie moshpit / bot frickpile.
>devs claim spawns have been nerfed
>spawns clearly haven't been nerfed
>"Hmm, its been a while since i fought bots, let me go see whats up"
I remember why I stopped, frick this double call in time shit. Going back to squashing vermin
What's (your) favorite propaganda message in the game? For me, it's
>It is a SCIENTIFIC FACT that the Automatons do NOT have hearts. And heart is what managed democracy is all about!
mmmmManaged democracy calls for aid.
>The song of Managed Democracy is a mellifluous clarion call.
But TCS towers are fun?
They are but if every single operation has 1 of them, it gets repetitive real fast
Just go to hellmire bro.
why do the devs refuse to give us good weapons in the game about shooting bugs? all the new primaries suck except the sickle which stops being as good once more armored mediums start spawning.
They complain everyone uses the same shit yet all but one of the new primaries are worthless garbage.
They are telling you to git gud
>dude just shoot the wet fart blaster it'll magically do more if you're good at the game
cope and swede
>good for chaff
Breaker, Defender, Liberator/Sickle
>good for elites
Blitzer, Scorcher, Slugger
What, you want something that can handle all enemy types well? Go frick yourself.
>blitzer
>good for anything
play above difficulty 5 before sucking swede wiener please.
Hey guys, is the game actually good or is it just flavor of the month and you are already getting a little bored?
People keep hyping it but I know better
i'm still having fun but if every new content drop is as underwhelming as this one i probably won't be soon
I wouldn't call this a new content drop, it's just some weapons. New content will be the new missions types and the new faction(s).
>Requisition
Finish objectives and map pickups.
>Samples
Map pickups.
>Medals
Finish missions.
>Super Credits
Real money and map pickups.
I don't know what skulls you're talking about.
Anon probably means Warbond Medals.
>first post launch premium pass drops
>the first weapon in the pass is seemingly the new best primary
you lads ready for the power creep of this game to go insane?
>power creep
not when the other weapons in the pass are as useful as a turd launcher even then that might be better at getting the bugs to go away.
sickle was a happy accident likely to get nerfed
Sickle was in the first game too, where it was the best primary. It's not as good in 2. Especially against bots, I think the Diligence is one of the best, if you can click heads
which diligence? the first one or the counter sniper version?
The first one, the counter sniper has more damage but it doesn't seem to make a difference against most enemies. the reduced capacity and increased recoil doesn't seem worth it
Diligence (non counter-sniper) two-shots Devastators and one-shots all but the double sword melee human-sized bots if you hit the head. It two-shots any human-sized if you hit anywhere else. It's really good against bots.
I'd rather have power creep than power shrink.
Payday 2 tier baby
post launch premium pass drops
>>the first weapon in the pass is seemingly the new best primary
What are you talking about? Which gun, the Sickle? It's just an energy liberator and the liberator was always slightly above average but nothing special. It's nowhere near as good as the SMG or the breaker or the slugger.
SC farm still work?
These plants explode when you step on them anon
why the frick are so many people running arc throwers, the new armor is gonna have to be mandatory soon with the ways these c**ts keep turning around and blasting
Explains why I've been killed atleast 2 - 3 times every match
>why the frick are so many people running arc throwers
Being told that the Railgun is trash now has gotten a lot of people trying out other weapons, and right now the Arc Thrower has been a weapon that people have said was "being slept on" even the VA for the opening trailer guy's saying it's a great tool, but at least he mentioned needing coordination.
I hate the masses who just do what the streamers tell them is good rather than judging for themselves. Been using the arc thrower since day one and now I'm seeing a bunch of buttholes using it who don't understand how to avoid friendly fire.
aren't the people pushing difficulty 9 missions using it? people flocked to the railgun/shield so it could be a case of metagays just looking up what the best players are using and mimicking it without understanding how to use it
I haven't seen a SINGLE railgun since the patch, it has been completely abandoned lmao, I wonder what the devs will say to that now that the railgun extraction rate has went from 80% to 5%
Also, Ganker, what would you suggest weapon-wise for a newbie? I have played around with all weapons - Shotguns are nice, assault rifles are good, DMRs I heard have a damage bug, SMGs are perfect, and support weapons like Stalwart makes me imagine myself as a soldier in D-Day wielding an MG-42.
Liberator is probably the best against Bugs. Against Bots it depends, if you're a newbie then maybe the Breaker.
As for support weapons, almost all of them work, but Machine Gun and Grenade Launcher are really good against both in the beginning.
Before that pretty much anything you'd like is usable.
so tired of morons running the mortar on the silo missions then wondering why the silos keep going down
I've actually found Silio missions go faster if you activate two at once because it forces bugs to prioritize one silo and so they end up spending most of start up time moving instead.
When I activate two silos at once the game usually ends up spawing bugs from one side since its probably trying not to crash.
>normie coworkers are getting it now
Its ogre
Helldiversissies your game is over, the e-celebs have moved on to Dragons Dogma.
Imagine giving a shit about what ecelebs think, couldn't be me.

Can't wait for Putin to nuke Sweden.
I am in your walls.
and so is your ability to crop an image correctly it seems
What leads to getting kicked? I was doing well and not team-killing, then I got kicked. Don't know what I did wrong.

I just bought this game and I'm downloading it now. No idea what to expect.
Do I need a gaystation account to play with my mate on steam? Do I need one to play with randos?
if you want to do any kind of crossplay yeah you need to link a PSN account to the game
But I dont need it if I have no desire to play with console peasants? The opening said it's necessary to 'play online', but also lets you skip it.
beats me, I linked an account and play it on PC with a premade group of other PC players.
When why did you say that if you had no idea? I only know one person who plays on PS5 instead of PC but we can't accept eachother's friend requests. If linking a PS account was the fix for that I feel like that would be a commonly known fact, but it's not.
Is that true, or are crossplay friend requests just not working at all. I was under the impression that they just weren't working.
Feels like this game just becoms buggier and buggier every day.
>bile spewer diarrhea artilleried
>hit by an eagle
>reinforced into three chargers and a bile titan
>hit by an eagle again
>extract
>everyone else was fine
seems I'm the shitter today, unfortunate
Why is the plasma punisher so fricking bad?
I don't like piloting the exosuit myself, but damn if it doesn't feel comfy having one around
7 has been my comfort difficulty after unlocking 9, and I will fight anyone that insults me.
I don't understand why would anyone go through the moronic elite and hunter/rpg trooper spam that is anything beyond 9.
The rewards are not worth it, sorry.
6-7 missions with the boys is comfy.
I run heavy armor, explosive resistance, slugger, airstrike, shield, mortar sentry, and 1 other
>use the plasma shotgun on the termicide mission
>made it impossible to win
Never making that mistake again.
Which premium warbond should i get first?
Look at either and choose what you think you'd like best. The majority of the stuff in either of them is fluff.
IMO sickle and stun grenades are better than anything in steeled veterans. But I do like the Senator and Dominator.
steeled veterans for the incendiary grenade and the dominator down the line
ignore the first one, go for the current one
stun nade and sickle are top tier
whats the use case for stunning bugs vs killing bugs? just chargers who dont die to impacts?
it completely immobilizes bile titans and chargers for 5-10s
>it stuns bile titans
OH LAWDY
if you are swarmed you can nade yourself and kill shit
you can stun bile titans and hulks
you can stun stalkers making them a free kill
you can save your teammates under any of these conditions
you have a grenade you can throw at the silos on TCS
idk i've found countless situations i've been very happy to have the stun nade for, absolutely god tier
>Throw 1 impact at group of hunters
>Kill less than half of them and get jumped
>Throw 1 stun at group of hunters
>Kill all of them with your weapon while they are stunned
you can stun a bile titan which gives you more leeway in dropping 500kg bombs on it
alternatively if you're being rushed by chargers or hunters you can use it for breathing space
for the record you get the most free kill on earth on chargers if you're using the arc thrower. literally non issue, if you see one getting up in your shit just chuck a nade and he's got a death sentence. if you run the scorcher you can consistently dick kick the bile titans as well every time with the 500kg by sac popping then dropping the 500kg
is the arc shotgun any good?
it's not breaker/defender tier but it's decent. Don't take it to robots though
It's shit-tier against large swarms since the more times it arcs the less damage it does. It's S-tier against single target enemies like brood commanders.
>damage is based on a factor you can't control
>brood commanders are usually with other bugs
there's no reason to use it, it's not even fun to use given how little control you have
don't let the other anon fool you it's one of the worst you're better off using any other shotgun even the awful plasma one
Stunning bile titans/chargers so you can line up orbital strikes/bombs. Orbital railgun does a pretty good job on its own but has a long ass cooldown. With stun grenades you can run precision strike and pretty much guarantee a hit.
its been so long since i've ran precision strike, does it actually do work against BTs if you can hit with it?
Yes. It also one shots fabs/tanks/hulks etc.
Breaker for bugs and scorcher for bots are in the free warbond, really everything good is in the free one
man I wish I could prepare for each mission type before dropping on quick play
IF ONLY THE FRICKING BRIEFING TAB WORKED
FRICKING HATE SWEDEN SO MUCH
i want a randomize option for stratagems, frick it
at this point i have to guess what mission it is based on other players loadouts, if they have a bunch of turrets then it's gonna be some shitty defense mission
>saw the upcoming spoilers for the next few weeks/months(?) from datamining
>also read up on some lore shit
>losing drive to play
Anyone else?
not at all
You played yourself.
Just take a break. I'm going to play the shit out of dragons dong 2 and then go back to helldivers. Nolifing these GAAS games just burns you out.
I'm gonna go gorge the Nolvus pack for Skyrim then head on back to Helldivers after a couple weeks.
Still probably gonna try to do an Operation a day though.
HONESTLY is this warbond worth 10$ ? If you couldn't farm it to be free?
Holy hell no
for a fiver it would be
>Erata Prime will have the final TCS activated in less than 7 hours
What a time to be a Citizen.
Only B-class citizens and above are allowed to post in my thread. Let's see (your) papers.
What is this Papers, Please moronation in my thread?
I was hoping for a sale
The gray market has become so much less convenient over the years. I remember buying new games at like 20 buck now it's like
>It's 10 bucks off
>But only if you have premium plus gold membership otherwise it's 5 bucks off
>Also buy a 4 bucks buyer protection thing or we'll send you a fake key lol
for what it's worth I've never had a dud key off cdkeys, and the one time I accidentally bought the wrong thing they gave me a full refund
That's because sites like fanatic and gamebillet are legit.
Isn't there a sale right now?
>he wont spend 2-3 hours of work for a well crafted game
Eat shit
I like how this is the new bait. Very original. It almost has a 100% biting rate. Tell all your friends now.
My friends are trying to get me to buy this game. I normally only play single player games. I haven't really played online games since the ps360 generation. Whats so good about it? To me it looks like standard boring online shit like destiny and the division and warframe.
They don't want you to know this but it's fun
guarantee they'll stop playing by the time you reach a high enough level to unlock the decent equipment
Probably. This happened with that meme spaceship alien game I forget name of back in 2020 I think it was. They all asked me to get the game and I played it with them once and then never played it again as they had got bored of it at that point.
You spread managed democracy. What else you need to know?
it's fun but im specifically avoiding my friends to play it
Its fun doesnt mean much as people say that about the 3 games I posted and I hated them all when I tried them.
It's not really attempting to be an mmo in the same way as any of those, so there's less grind but also probably less staying power
I'd compare it more to something like Darktide, L4D and magicka, the gaas shit is there in the form of battle passes, but that's just how the progression works
Is the Marksman rifle as bad as it feels or am I just using it wrong?
sickle's starting to run its course a bit for me.
Okay I tried Sickle AC and EATs and it was actually pretty effective since you get EATs back so quickly, still hard to say if it's worth it over just running Slugger with a heavy killer instead though lol
>find a good farm map
>go afk on my ship
>it kicks me to main menu for inactivity
>the missions are all different now
welp
they introduced a 15-20 minute afker timer after they had the player limit because people were logging in then afking
guess they didnt bother to remove it
>didn't understood why Black folk like to farm
>found 6 medals and 20 super creds in a 20s walk next to each other
frick, now I see it, I don't even need the supercreds
I'm max on everything except SC and I imagine I'll get enough SC for the next warbound by the time it comes out again just by playing the game
yeah, I thought I didn't wanna bother but then I tried it and found a crate with two SC drops and another single SC drop close together and it was over
at least I sorta like the new warbond I guess, the gun is alright
i basically only farm when my friends aren't on cause i hate playing with randoms in most games
>didn't understood
you should see a grammar book tbh
Why would I tell you.
Are the people complaining about hunters mixing them up with stalkers? Hunters don't really do anything special.
Hunters are harder than stalkers. Give it time, you'll realize it.
Just shoot them. They're not tanky (unlike stalkers).
everything that jumps is fricking cancer
Controller user?
Shit like this is going to kill the game.
I regularly clear entire maps on helldive with randoms who don't use mics and I don't have this issue.
You're trash
run the new spawn reduction booster outside of eradicate missions which were overtuned due to the devs being mad at farmers it does make a difference
>create a problem
>sell the solution
holy frick.....
>spawn reduction booster
that's not what it does you mongoloid, it merely gives you an extra second when the enemies are spawning a breach to kill them
If you’re not equipped with stratagems that have a low cool down you’re playing wrong
Also you gotta know when to focus on the damn objective
Any lobbies?
You make a key observation, HD2 is very close to MGS5.
Huh. Be right back, gonna go grab a silenced weapon and solo mission shit in stealth
>a silenced weapon
That's a thing?
it will be in the later updates.
I think so? I heard somethings about silenced weapons, so may be a lie, but I think there are. Correct me if I'm wrong
I wish we could customize the npcs/ship staff and more of the ship.
I also wish the ship had some sort of mess hall/lounge/ Ten forward area.
>HOLY SHIT IT'S SO HYPE TO AVOID COMBAT
I don't understand people who like stealth. You're like trying to avoid playing the game.
No it was hype to ambush the bots FROM stealth and to have the bots caught off guard by my guerilla tactics
Smoke bombing them then attacking in the smoke made me feel like a tactical assassin
You know there's quite literally a genre of games where stealth is the main mechanic, right
Yes but in those games stealth is usually incentived by them having so shit combat you want to avoid it.
So just like in helldive
It'll kill you And your teammates but it's still based
how do you even kill a bile titan once you've broken all the softspots and its a walking shell? theres nothing left to shoot
assuming you have no airstrikes left/CD you can probably shoot the exposed guts for minimal damage, but you should probably run away from it instead.
Where am I supposed to shoot the green bile spewers? The green sacks, legs, and head all feel like they take the same amount of damage. Even when you shoot the legs off it doesn't feel like they slow down.
I don't know, I spawn sniper and shoot 3x to the ass.
The green sacs and other similar body parts on bugs are weak to explosions. one shot from the nade launcher BTFOs them. It's a weak spot on titans too, though there are more effective ways to kill them it's decent in a pinch
Guns go to mouth, explosions go mouth or sacks
Mouth or the middle of the sides, between the armor plates.
Shoot in mouth when it does bile attack, otherwise body shots will open up its shell and DOT it
01000001 01001000
FRICK SPEWERS
FRICK SPEWERS
FRICK THOSE GODDAMN Black folk
CHARGERS? EASY
BILE TITANS? EASY
BUT FRICKING SPEWERS WITH THEIR 'BLAAAARGH' INSTAKILL BULLSHIT IS STUPID
I've had success waiting until the bile is midair before dodging.
Yeah if you see it in front of you
If they are behind you they fricking instakill you with their vomit
They either one shot you or do absolutely nothing.
this is what I hate of the new patch, previously if patrols walked past you they just fricking walked past you, now they do a sudden 180 off camera and suddenly the entire map knows where you are, fricking stupid
How do you respond without sounding mad?
It's a miracle!
>How do you respond without sounding mad?
Omae wa mo, shinderu.
You know I think the termicide would work better if the towers weren't made out of wood
EDF FANS ARE HELLDIVERS FANS SINCE 2015! If you like Helldivers than you are now an EDF fan and are obligated to preorder EDF 6 and all of it's dlc or else you are a seething tendie
the hunter spam makes me want to run shields again
Use the rover, dummy
Ganker told me that the rover sucks
the rover is the breasts, the laser one
the other drone with the projectile rifle is the shitty one
the assault rifle rover does suck
the laser rover has always been good you just gotta learn how it moves so you don't get teamkilled by it constantly
The laser rover gets me 200-300 more kills than any member of the team without one, every mission without exception. You can run away from 100 hunters and they'll all die trying to follow you.
it used to suck because the breaker did such a good job of clearing mobs, but now that they nerfed the breaker your loadout tends to focus on either heavy support weapons or mob weapon that are useless when the bugs come into melee range, which is where the rover helps fill the gap
the laser one is still nice vs bugs, the gun one i think sucks.
eventually though I found I'd rather not get clipped by a charger or looking away from a hunter 2 seconds and get slowed at the wrong time so I use shield.
it's based for teamkilling
just tried it and I'm pretty sure it carried me through this quickplay
walked out with 750 kills to 200 and below for everyone else and I know goddamn well I did not fire that many slugs
The ballistic rover does suck.
The laser rover is top tier and I'm surprised the devs haven't kneecapped it.
If the termicide fails, do we get to call a referendum to replace the super senators who were in charge of the project?
Never played this game before. Is it true that the devs randomly drop easter eggs before releasing updates and there's no road map? What's an example?
I mean ... There's the flying bugs right now
There were the pilotavle exos on Taiwan
Idk any others
A planet where mechs are manufactured had to be liberated to unlock the mechs.
yeah but dataminers already sniff those things out way before it starts being teased in games, so if you want to avoid being spoiled you gotta avoid them
>What's an example?
well the most recent thing is the bird enemies
a recently started mission type is where you start up some dispersion towers that let out some.. questionable gas
once people started completing those missions, on rare occasions you can briefly run into a new enemy type that appears to have been influenced by that gas
that was never teased or promoted, people learned about it because someone uploaded footage of it online
there were mechs you could sometimes find before they officially came out. some were dead lying around on the planet that produces the mechs, that we were tasked to defend. also ones that you could find 1 here or there at points of interest but not every map, it was rare.
the propaganda terminals for 'stop the illegal broadcast' has TV screens claiming we're responsible for the bugs spreading
they had plans but they all busted once 400k people arrived to liberate the galaxy instead of 10k, now they just come up with ways to keep people engaged
Bile spewers are the bane of my fricking existence
I've just started hitting them with EATs instead of leaving spare ones behind all the time.
Same but 4-5 spawn each breach along with chargers/titans. I just can't kill them fast enough
penetrator rifle directly to the head just fricks them silly
>join a team with 3 people under level 25
>pick stamina or muscle enhancement because none of them have it
>land, realize I only have half Stimson and nades
>miraculously, not one of them pick hellpod space optimization
>return to ship alone
>people cheat left and right
>people say anti-cheat was just to prevent super credit cheats
>exploit found in first week to farm super creds like crazy
>devs do nothing to patch it
So uh, what was the point of the anti-cheat again?
Well obviously they need to secure the war effort, otherwise they would need to do something obnoxious like making multiple manual adjustments every day, rendering peoples work irrelevant
Haven't encountered a cheater yet
Saw one last night. Guess his ethnicity.
https://streamable.com/m4bbsw
the community were wienerriding the devs anyway, defending the anti cheat drm even though its already been compromised to the point where linux users can just walk around it and cheat easily.
>DEJA VU!
>fighting for the goverment
Thank god i moved to the east most system in the former squid homeworld heh suckers
DO NOT TAKE THE LOCALIZATION RANDOMIZER BOOSTER
IT DOES THE EXACT OPPOSITE OF WHAT IT SAYS IT DOES
>used to use those spore plants on bot planets to break LOS
>latest patch
>run towards one to escape bot army on my ass
>smoke cloud, but also get tossed into the air
>rocket trooper rockets me before I can get back up
Well that was nice while it lasted.
MERIDIA IS A FRICK
ERATA PRIME FRICKING NEXT
BORN TO KILL ZE BUGZ
Reminder that the illuminates will sabotage the termicide towers and cause the bugs to mutate and then begin their invasion, while that happens the automatons will take cyberstan
The anti-Helldivers shit that goes on in these threads is really pathetic. Good to know that I'm not a troony, a third-world brownie, or some other flavor of animal that gets upset at a fricking video game.
good... good... *rubs 4 hands together*
the humans are busy with the bugs... good...
saw someone a while ago wonder if stun grenades closed holes
can 'confirm' they do not, or at least they sure as hell didn't for me, so I guess I'm still running autocannon
hey will this game ban me for calling some a homosexual? I had after some guy got mad for reinforcing him 100 ft away from his shield which was too far away and he was crying about it
lol no. you could literlaly type Black person in chat and they wont ban you. They dont even have a report feature in game. The devs are based,.
>be a moron Black person
>be surprised when someone gets mad over it
You deserved it
Buddy he was 1-2 squares away and I was clearing nests and getting tons of samples with 1 other guy. I could understand if he was on the other side of the map. We were literally in firing range of where he was.
Is the laser pistol any good?
God no
might be the worst weapon in the entire game
I would say the redeemer is slightly better, but otherwise it is way better than both the peacemaker and senator.
Redeemer is better as an oh shit backup weapon, while laser pistol is better if you're using a slugger or scorcher in primary and plan on killing most lightly armored enemies with your laser while preserving primary ammo.
I actually feel a little bad for the gays who decide to play Helldivers in a couple months/years and miss out on the journey of a story happening. They'll have mechs/warthogs but won't understand what happened to get them.
>Implied that your Diver who returns to the ship is a new one every time you die
Longest amount of missions you've taken without biting it?
62 if sc farming counts
2 if only completed missions count
man i sure love getting sniped across the map through thick fog by one hundred rocket bots, rocket devs, tanks, and those goddamn sentry towers with the guaranteed tank spawn bases
You do? I hate that shit
Use cover, use smoke to frick with their aim, use eagle
Don't let those fricking robots win
how exactly is suppressing fire supposed to work against bots
cause it feels like they dont give a shit about being shot at
But Rico and Carmen were a couple and became a couple after too
In the movie. In the book they went on a few dates but that was it.
>he didn't see the deleted scenes where she cheats on him before dumping him
you got me. lost.
Never said they were married to eachother, just happily married.
Honestly I'd rather they'd be married to each other than each just married to randos.
>just married to randos.
I'm not a rando!
Why can't the automatons accept managed democracy? Even their cold heartless processors should be able to understand the mathematical optimality of super earth's government.
they have robot communism
too much processing power dedicated to rocket sniping leaves little room to understand the superiority of managed democracy
They are deranged barbarians incapable of civilized thought
Tell me more about this robot communism anon. You seem to know a lot about it.
dropping cringe package
So what, he just carries and refuses to reinforce?
>his thing is... he answers distress calls
WOWIE WHAT A SPECIAL PLAYER
.
Out fricking skilled
>77c
wtf how hot is your system homie
No other game fries my CPU like this. It was a pretty cheap cooler though, would be around 70-72 with a proper double tower cooler.
Cap the framerate to 60 FPS.
I'm on a 7800X3D and it was running at around 75-80c with a Hyper 212 (Not an amazing cooler or anything) went down atleast 5 - 10c. I suspect the DRM/Anti Cheat is so shit it puts extra strain on your cpu.
>buys 7800x3d
>caps fps and cheap out on cooler
interesting choice, but even if your cpu runs at 90c it will be ok
I didn't cheap out, its a temporary cooler until I get my replacement from an RMA. Even then I dont even push above 65c on total war warhammer III and that game is VERY cpu intensive.
either way it won't hurt your cpu, you can try to stress test it in something ever more demanding like multi core cinebench test. if it won't hit 90c there you cpu won't throttle in any game workload
Single CCD Ryzen CPUs like the 5800X3D generally run pretty hot due their physical architecture. 77c is not too bad, it only starts to throttle around 93c and has to shut down around 100c.
I got a 970, what are the chances I can get this to run at 30.
you'll be good. but it wont be pretty.
I don't care about pretty, I'll make this b***h look like mine craft if I have to.
It plays on Steam Deck, you'll be fine.
I'm new to this, is the grenade launcher actually worth taking in? It feels like it's more of a liability than an asset most times.
It's good at clearing small mobs and bug holes
You can take if your team has AT covered
>decent explosive damage
>closes bug holes
>kills striders
it's alright
>It feels like it's more of a liability than an asset most times.
All the best weapons are.
it's.. fine? just don't try to hit bugs 1m in front of you obviously
it's innately better at bug missions since it can close holes
It's a way worse Autocannon but with a free backpack spot
You can take out almost every bot on an incoming dropship and bug nests. Do not fire it at your feet. You're aiming for the long game not the short-mid range.
>Teammate takes minefield on Termicide mission
>Litters mines all over the silos
>Does frick all to te bugs.
I'd like to see 4 guys with both mine stratagems set them all up and see how well that works.
it's good for chucking intoareas where
>you'll never walk into like the enemy spawns in eradication missions
or
>where there will be so many bugs that by the time the fight's over all the mines are gone
Termicide mission is fricking cancer
frick this mission
it sucks
its the worst tower defense shit ive played
they dont even have turrets or anything to make it interesting and the ai spawns from directions instead of hordes like an army from the outskirts which would be way better
boo fricking hoo, homosexual
use EMS mortars moron
Probably my favorite stratagem
>bringing this gay shit instead of more damage
Instant kick
>instant kick
I appreciate you not wasting my time.
absolute moron
>it's a nobody is taking anti-tank so you have to take EAT, 500kg, and laser episode
Im the opposite: When I quickplay in I usually see everyone carrying Railcanons, EATs, 500KG, 380MM. I then go GL + Supply Backpack, Gas and EMS to control the hordes.
>mobility punishment: the game
>charger straight up either ignoring laws of physics or is stuck
>Press R to reload: Electric Boogaloo
>Bug nests having shit hitboxes
>Hellbomb doesnt reliably destroy infrastructure
>see players reinforce themselves into water and drowning
>people purposefully skipping objectives because a youtuber told them so
>metagays killing low levels and not reinforcing shocked when killed in return
meme game, loving every second
It's a delightful clusterfrick. Less than half the players even know how the game works because it hardly tells you anything. I'm really enjoying it.
So can you pop a Charger in the face with autocannons or is that an EAT-only thing?
If you hit it literally in its tiny mouth you can do damage to it from the front. Realistically it's much easier to just blow its butthole out and watch it bleed to death.
Damn, well guess autocannon is still a better option since barely anything can even penetrate a Charger's butthole despite being a "weak point".
Autocannon sentry will wreck Chargers, but the personal autocannon is an ass only tool, just like your dick.
EAT and Recoiless will one shot it to the head face on. Autocannon needs to rely on ass shots.
It's lonely at the top.
Which one is it
Everything is available for free in a reasonable amount of time by playing the game.
The one where you can, if you choose to, pay real money to get faster access to gear that's worse than everything else.
A normal game but you can pay to skip grind
a lot of people think the "pay 2 win" weapons are actually worse than the normal ones, but regardless, you can sooner or later buy everything without any grinding, just playing the game.
somewhere in between, I guess
it isn't just cosmetics in the premium warbonds but alot of the guns are so shit that you'd probably rather have nice gold, even the 'good' laser rifle is just a slightly better liberator that goes through heatsinks faster on warm planets
>free pass
Everything you will actually need
>paid pass
maybe a side grade, if that? You can grind premium currency easy so spending money is just to skip to it.
>Play with randoms
>One team are idiots, airstrike my mech on first try
>Walk into tesla tower despite my repeated pre-warnings.
>Walk into each other line of fire, eating up reinforcements.
>Only I, the host have anti-heavies weapons
>Fission Mailed.
>New team of randoms,
>Flawless victory.
Some people are shitters and have no sense of awareness.
>repeated pre-warnings
I think some people just mute anyone with a mic.
I have a much easier time doing the silo mission on 9 than anything lower because everyone knows how to play.
That sucks balls. I also live in Alaska, but ACS offers unlimited data.
I live in Kotz so I’m absolutely cucked by GCI. It’s fricking bullshit they even have data caps given there’s a fiber optic line connecting us to the rest of the world.
>Kotz
Fricking hell. Maybe you could look into some offgrid internet options, like Starlink.
I'm trying to find this info for you but new Windows is such fricking garbage holy shit
I KNOW YOU HAVE THIS INFORMATION
JUST SHARE IT WITH ME
I can see an amount of data, but it won't tell me the time period it's from
You’re a king.
Very cool.
anyway, hopefully this info is useful for you, but it's likely an outlier, but I'm posting it anyway because it was such a pain in the ass to acquire it
frick Windows btw
You’re a saint. Thanks for downloading Chinese spyware for me m8.
A little confused about the numbers though. At ~7:50 it says about 1gb in total and then at ~8:50 it says 32 mb? Is it saying what has been used in the previous hour? That’s a pretty big disparity and 32mb for an hour of play seems super low while 1gb is pretty high. Most games are at around 200-300 mb/hour. What’s your interpretation? Some folks are saying their data usage is spiking playing this game so maybe 1gb/hour is to be expected.
I added the upload and download btw because that’s how my shit tier ISP counts data usage.
For me, it's 6. Most people communicate and are good enough, and if they're not, you can usually do it by yourself or just one other competent player
maybe I'll bump it up to 7 later for the ultra rare samples but for now, who cares
i think playing with randoms increases the difficulty by 2 ticks. With friends we can easily beat 8 and usually beat 9, meanwhile random players will pick a level 7 mission and somehow instantly run off in different directions and die. Or throw down a mortar and everyone else dies.
>throw down a mortar and everyone else dies.
Mortar spammers are the scum of the super earth.
6 is harder than 7 for me because most teamates suck.
Did multiplayer just die for everyone? I hotjoined into a cool group of 3 guys and we had a great mission, and then all 3 of them vanished at once with no message and all the enemy AI bugged. I had to stealth out of the mission alone. Now when joining I get the infinite loading glitch and can't get in.
that happened to me the other day. I think it's a crossplay bug. just restart the game and it's fine
>I think it's a crossplay bug.
Might be true, because I haven't experienced it since turning crossplay off a few days ago.
It happens a lot. The game just drops out for people.

stun grenades are just so nice to have that i don't think i can let go of the engineer passive. i managed to stun 3 chargers in one spot and got them all with a single precision strike.
>stun grenades
but impact grenades absolutely dominate spitters. I've gotten 5 of them in one throw (once) (usually just 2-3)
i have a grenade launcher for that.
woops, last orbital for bots is railcannon.
THE FRICK I GOT JUST BLUE LASERED OUT OF NOWHERE
HOLY SHIT THE ILLUMINATE JUST FLEW OVER MY EXTRACTION
GUYS I WOKE UP AND MY wiener WAS WET AND MY BALLS WERE EMPTY
oh wait never mind that was just my mom and sister
How can you be sure that they weren't being controlled by illuminates to harvest your semen?
nah thats just normal for them
>implying they haven't been controlled all this time
Blue Beams seen on Super Earth.
SHUT IT DOWN

I got bored after about 9 hours
1 is better
Hey guys, have you ever wondering if the Automaton might be right?
>host or join a group
>get a full party
>whenever people leave they never get replaced
>restart the game
>immediately get a full party again
Is this intended behavior, or did they just never playtest the game for homosexuals playing the game 2-4+ hours at a time without a dedicated friend group?
Ive had long stretches of no one joining them we ate on out way to extraction and suddenly 2 people join
TCS has been activated in all the planets. Where's my medals?
WE WON TOTAL BUG DEATH
>the best medic armor is light armor
wtf
>the best armor in the game is light armor
They'll probably release another light medic soon. That one doesn't have full speed which really annoys me.
REEE WHERE ARE MY MEDALS TODD
Is this what my friends died for?
>hmm, good mission except...the lower than average sample collection....
>WELL b***h MAYBE YOU CAN GO GRAB THOSE SAMPLE YOURSELF SOMEWHERE NEAR THE CORPSES OF MY 20 DEAD FRIENDS!!!!
just have your buddies' democratic officer thaw one of their clones
Surely I won't get my medals a week later again haha right haha can you imagine?
>join a hard game
>it's all level 50s
>the only do defense missions
WTF?
Farming exp, nonny.
why would they need XP when they're level 50? Black person-sama?
Um, do you even know about the meta? C'mon nonny this is basic stuff. Look up a youtube guide on the current meta if you don't understand.
Got my medals.
Naysayers blown the frick out.
is this game fun with randos? no friends
If you don't take things too seriously, sure.
Why are all the sniper rifles like the countersniper so fricking laggy on their aim?
What I mean in that is the time it takes for the actual weapon to line up with the tiny dot.
The line-up time is as bad as the literal fricking autocannon on the countersniper. Surely, this isn't meant to be the weapon I have to do precision shots with, right?
hold reload and adjust the scope distance.
That's what changes it?
What distance should it be set to?
Shorter the distance quicker the movement of the rifle
depends on the distance
Will I ever replace my light gunner armor set?
looks fly as hell with my stylish jetpack accessory
The burnt cape is so kino
