Nah. Obviously they are different, but it's baked into the roots and progression systems of more significance are old as well too. For example most fantasy vidya is directly adapted from tatbleotp rgps which is all about progression systems (leveling up) hence your bajillion DnD adaptions or even something like Fallout.
Then even for shooters, you can look to Battlefield 2 which has all it's stuff gated behind leveling.
This idea that "old games just gave you everything" is a classic half truth. Some games did. But many of them didn't. And I'm only referencing games people liked, not random trash no one liked.

Dude, even casual play nets your 30-50 super credits an hour unless you bolt to objectives and evac. You clearly don't like the game, that's great, you can go play Skyrim or Fortnite or whatever game you like. HD2 has problems, but the currencies aren't one of them. It's easy to get all of them except, arguably, super samples, which require room temperature IQ. I play casually and I've founds/unlocked well over 3k sc in like 80 hours, so yeah, I'm thinking it's you. Good luck, though! Maybe try Bioshock Infinite, if finding blinking lights is twisting your brain too much.

Quickplay rando's are almost always an awful experience in this game and I'd rather do solo runs than quickplays. I'm lucky to have a few night owl bros who can drop for a full op when I wanna play. At this point I think it must be a combination of quickplay and absolutely terrible luck. You open any ancient caskets or something, anon? It's bonkers to think you have such bad SC luck. I play with a few groups of fricks and none of them have had any issue with creds, from the hardcore level 70+ sweat lords i know to the casual level 15s, which is why I say it's not an issue. Skill issue. You can get at the very least 30 sc per map. Going through a whole map in 40 minutes while making detours dor POIs isn't difficult so around 20 hours of gametime is enough to get 1000sc solely from that.

It's the best assault rifle, in my opinion. Don't worry about trying to not overheat and treat it like any other gun as far as reloading goes. It has plenty of ammo and it's reload is really short, it just has the benefit of refilling a clip if you just so happen not to use it all. Plus it has virtually no kick so aiming is buttery smooth.

In a 40 minute game, you can expect to find at least 20 super credits, which means 60 minutes(one hour) of play can net you 30 super credits.
1 hour = 30 SC
10 hours = 300 SC
100 hours = 3000 suoer credits, enough to get all og the current premium warbonds.
And that's not including the suoer credits you get FOR FREE in the free warbond.

A premium warbond has around 300 SC in it, meaning you only need 700 for the next one forever after the first one.

With a warbond added each month, by playing at least 23 hours a month you can pretty much guarantee buying it on release without any SC grinding.
If you add even slight SC grinding to the mix, it's so easy it's not even funny.

I'm not kidding if you grind credits for 2 days (4 hours per day) you'll have enough for every warbond right now. You can literally just do 4 runs of grinding credits alone everyday (takes like 6 mins) and you'll have enough for at least 2 by the time the next one comes out.
All DoT effects such as fire and gas only work if you are the Network* Host. It doesn't matter whose ship is hosting the mission, the network host is whoever has the better connection at any given moment and it can change multiple times throughout a mission. The lobby host and the network host aren't the same.

Completely correct on both counts. The majority of new items and enemies introduced have been broken on release and either never fixed or broken more. A handful of them have been good or interesting - the Factory Walker is basically the only good new enemy.

How is it a lie? If you're enjoying the game and playing matches, you'll have enough samples for a lot of modules without even noticing. Besides, there are only a couple modules that are absolutely worth getting (+1 eagle, reduced orbital cooldown, and the sentry modules). Everything else is just a nice little bonus.
Who the frick even grinds for the weapons and armors in these premium warbonds? I saw some of the armor in there and they're fricking either the same passives as the ones in the default warbond or useless ones like 95% arc resistance. In higher bot dofficulties it will eat shots that would miss you anyways. I've been bringing a supply backpack just so i can sustain longer playing solo while my team uses resupply stratagems.
There's arguments for using it against bots since it can save you from being ragdolled or instantly bullied if you get caught out of cover and even against bugs it can stop you from being slowed but I will maintain that it's a crutch for shit players almost every time. Just get good at the game without it and you'll never need it.

If you like to solo POIs and stuff then yeah it's kinda necessary.
My bug loadout right now is eruptor stalwart shield and eagle airstrike+500, and the shield is pretty much the only thing keeping me from being mobbed by hunters or gibbed by spitters when i'm reloading.
I'd use thermites or incendiary nades to help out with chargers or area denial, but with the host dot bug it just leaves a hole in the loadout where I can be out of airstrikes and reloading and hunters and chargers can run me down.
But if I have one guy covering me with any weapon then the shield is only really useful for preventing me dying to friendly fire.
This is the first multiplayer game in a while where I care about progression. I care about unlocking shit. Every time I play Call of Doody: Borezone, I don't even check the shit I unlocked, I just play to hang out with friends until they finally have something else to do. God I wish I could get them to play Helldivers 2.

Completely correct on both counts. The majority of new items and enemies introduced have been broken on release and either never fixed or broken more. A handful of them have been good or interesting - the Factory Walker is basically the only good new enemy.
The mech is a fine example of this - they nerfed it instead of fixing the bugs with it.

I played an eradicate mission recently where reinforcement was genuinely entirely broken. Wasnt a jammer, it would just light up, then disappear after 6 seconds and only allow one person in the match to respawn. This is the game you guys think is the second fricking coming.
How do the difficulties in this game work? Is it that we have Trivial, 1-9, then Suicide and Helldive or that the difficulties have names and numbers so 1 is Trivial and 8 and 9 are Suicide and Helldive?

dont be afraid to sneak past patrols or quietly disengage.
A turret can often buy you enough time to hoof it before enemies can re engage, but not always.
Recoiless is good regardless. There's tons of value in just >see threat >instantly whip out recoiless and fire
no delays, charging, no calling in, just see target, shoot target.
Carrying around an EAT does the same thing, and you get a shield to nullify 90% of your deaths from hunter ambushes.

Sure, until the second shot. A call in is less flexible then having the ammo on your back. I don't know why people freak so much about recoless reload time, the only real issue is ammo management. But for just laying down AT in terms of flexibility, can't be beat.

So most of the stuff *can be damaged with lighter AT if you get behind them, but things work better if you can just shoot them in the fricking face and get past that. Towers and Tanks mostly, Sometimes those bot hqs. You'll get a constant amount of both. So me being the one guy with recoiless brings a strong power option to everyone else using usually autocannons or eruptor or AMR, etc. Whatever they have that required shooting the vent weak points.

Tanks are essentially the easiest target in the game other than the quadturret one. They're slow to move, aim and shoot so as long as you clear the chaff that come with it they are not an issue. You can also toss 2 impact nades at the top to kill them.
Turrets are basically the same, half of the time they'll be just facing the other way before they spot anything and you can just snipe them in the vents.
Command posts are better just getting 500kg but you can shoot the turrets on it from the front one by one with an autocannon too.

double recoilless where you reload eachother once one has emptied is actually cool as frick and can let you tear down almost anything in a hurry. EAT is probably my favorite, personally. Orbital railcannon also works a charm most of the time.

A: Fire individually and have roughly 3 or so seconds between shots. This is ideal with multiple targets or high mobility scenarios
B: You reload me and I unload all 7 of my shots in about 5 seconds, allowing us to dumpster one target abruptly, then swap to dumpster another. This requires coordination and trust, as after you reload me, you are left with no reloads so need either ammo drops or my help to be useful.
Both have their benefits and times when they are best, though B does feel massively badass. Standing your ground and just mouth fricking a bile titan while your team mows down smalls is so fricking rad.
Was it worth it? All the upgrades seem shit, not as substantial of an upgrade for the asking price, just something to sink your collectables into instead of them being at cap forever.

the sickle warbond also gets you the stun grenades which are nice for bots
the dominator warbond also gets you decent armors and a potentially good kit if they ever fix fire damage
except the breaker is still good and the liberator and smg are also just good. a real broken p2w weapon once DOT is fixed will be the incendiary shotgun. mark my words.

An anti heavy armor primary so you don't feel like a fricking moron after picking the machine gun support weapons on any difficulty higher than 4 and half a dozen chargers show up. I don't care what it is, just that it can pierce heavy armor. It could be a pixie dust launcher for all I care.
All the pistols are limited or situational, that's why they're secondary weapons. This is the only one that can close bug holes though, which makes it far more helpful in play because it frees up grenades for other uses.
Same projectile as the grenade launcher. Has a weird glitch where if you have the ammo booster, you get 2 rounds in the first shot when you spawn. After that, it's 1 shot per reload.

That just sounds like standard diff 7 to me. You could get a bunch of devs, or berserkers, or scouts and little guys. Its all random, but double gunship fab seems pretty normal now too. I just ran a blitz that had 3 of them.
i had three gunship spawns next to eachother and it was fricking miserable. autocannon is now a permanent fixture in my bot loadouts, I have zero idea how else they expect us to take on 4-5 gunships at once. I miss being a railgungay

Use Dog Drone with Scythe. Constant damage to all enemies nearby so you can clean them up with your primary in seconds. Also I find using the scythe on heads and other weak points good enough if you shoot at things at maximum effective range.
Auto Cannon still kicks ass lately. Sure everything takes 2-3 shots but the rate of fire is good enough, reload time is decent, and it can be used to take out fabricators. I just don't see the railgun as goo unless you're sniping shit from far away. The moment more than one gunship, hulk, or devastator shows up the fire rate of the railgun becomes unbearable.

They are. It's the exact same problem as the flamethrower buffs : they balance based only on metrics without looking at the bigger picture. The game has been out for around 60 days, and we've killed 20 billion bugs. If you base yourself on nothing but that metric, 2 billion bugs in 6 days seems like a perfectly logical objective to set.
I always have like at least 2x as many bug kills as I do against bots, you don't really notice them but you kill fricking hundreds of scavengers every mission.

Nah. Obviously they are different, but it's baked into the roots and progression systems of more significance are old as well too. For example most fantasy vidya is directly adapted from tatbleotp rgps which is all about progression systems (leveling up) hence your bajillion DnD adaptions or even something like Fallout.
Then even for shooters, you can look to Battlefield 2 which has all it's stuff gated behind leveling.

Quickplay rando's are almost always an awful experience in this game and I'd rather do solo runs than quickplays. I'm lucky to have a few night owl bros who can drop for a full op when I wanna play. It's the best assault rifle, in my opinion. Don't worry about trying to not overheat and treat it like any other gun as far as reloading goes. It has plenty of ammo and it's reload is really short, it just has the benefit of refilling a clip if you just so happen not to use it all. Plus it has virtually no kick so aiming is buttery smooth.
Pretty much one of the best primaries that also power creeps an entire category of guns.

10 hours = 300 SC
100 hours = 3000 suoer credits, enough to get all og the current premium warbonds.
And that's not including the suoer credits you get FOR FREE in the free warbond.

A premium warbond has around 300 SC in it, meaning you only need 700 for the next one forever after the first one.
With that in mind, that's a 30% reduction in time, taking about 23 hours to unlock the next one.
With a warbond added each month, by playing at least 23 hours a month you can pretty much guarantee buying it on release without any SC grinding.
If you add even slight SC grinding to the mix, it's so easy it's not even funny.

All DoT effects such as fire and gas only work if you are the Network* Host. It doesn't matter whose ship is hosting the mission, the network host is whoever has the better connection at any given moment and it can change multiple times throughout a mission. The lobby host and the network host aren't the same.

How is it a lie? If you're enjoying the game and playing matches, you'll have enough samples for a lot of modules without even noticing. Besides, there are only a couple modules that are absolutely worth getting (+1 eagle, reduced orbital cooldown, and the sentry modules). Everything else is just a nice little bonus.

Who the frick even grinds for the weapons and armors in these premium warbonds? I saw some of the armor in there and they're fricking either the same passives as the ones in the default warbond or useless ones like 95% arc resistance. And these guns and armors themselves are grossly inflated in medal prices too.
Is the shield just a crutch or is it really necessary on 8 & 9? Tried going to 8 once but no one joined so I've been sticking to 7 since.
Against bots I really love the shield, but I don't think I need it using the Eruptor. Long range and stealth makes bots pretty ez.

In higher bot dofficulties it will eat shots that would miss you anyways. I've been bringing a supply backpack just so i can sustain longer playing solo while my team uses resupply stratagems.
There's arguments for using it against bots since it can save you from being ragdolled or instantly bullied if you get caught out of cover and even against bugs it can stop you from being slowed but I will maintain that it's a crutch for shit players almost every time. Just get good at the game without it and you'll never need it.
The cuck bubble is 9 out of 10 times a shitter crutch. Good players will use it occasionally so they can safely solo objectives while other players draw attention through bug breaches/bot drops but usually it's used exclusively by horrible players.

If you like to solo POIs and stuff then yeah it's kinda necessary.
My bug loadout right now is eruptor stalwart shield and eagle airstrike+500, and the shield is pretty much the only thing keeping me from being mobbed by hunters or gibbed by spitters when i'm reloading.
I'd use thermites or incendiary nades to help out with chargers or area denial, but with the host dot bug it just leaves a hole in the loadout where I can be out of airstrikes and reloading and hunters and chargers can run me down.
But if I have one guy covering me with any weapon then the shield is only really useful for preventing me dying to friendly fire.

Completely correct on both counts. The majority of new items and enemies introduced have been broken on release and either never fixed or broken more. A handful of them have been good or interesting - the Factory Walker is basically the only good new enemy.
The mech is a fine example of this - they nerfed it instead of fixing the bugs with it.

I played an eradicate mission recently where reinforcement was genuinely entirely broken. Wasnt a jammer, it would just light up, then disappear after 6 seconds and only allow one person in the match to respawn. This is the game you guys think is the second fricking coming.

Bots need AT even less than bugs. What are you talking about?
So most of the stuff *can be damaged with lighter AT if you get behind them, but things work better if you can just shoot them in the fricking face and get past that. Towers and Tanks mostly, Sometimes those bot hqs. You'll get a constant amount of both. So me being the one guy with recoiless brings a strong power option to everyone else using usually autocannons or eruptor or AMR, etc. Whatever they have that required shooting the vent weak points.
Tanks are essentially the easiest target in the game other than the quadturret one. They're slow to move, aim and shoot so as long as you clear the chaff that come with it they are not an issue. You can also toss 2 impact nades at the top to kill them.
Turrets are basically the same, half of the time they'll be just facing the other way before they spot anything and you can just snipe them in the vents.
Command posts are better just getting 500kg but you can shoot the turrets on it from the front one by one with an autocannon too.

expendable anti-tank is one of the first ones you unlock and can work well as a secondary support weapon due to how disposable it is
double recoilless where you reload eachother once one has emptied is actually cool as frick and can let you tear down almost anything in a hurry. EAT is probably my favorite, personally. Orbital railcannon also works a charm most of the time.

Depends on your coordination, but it is faster if you communicate well.

A: Fire individually and have roughly 3 or so seconds between shots. This is ideal with multiple targets or high mobility scenarios
B: You reload me and I unload all 7 of my shots in about 5 seconds, allowing us to dumpster one target abruptly, then swap to dumpster another. This requires coordination and trust, as after you reload me, you are left with no reloads so need either ammo drops or my help to be useful.
Both have their benefits and times when they are best, though B does feel massively badass. Standing your ground and just mouth fricking a bile titan while your team mows down smalls is so fricking rad.

All the pistols are limited or situational, that's why they're secondary weapons. This is the only one that can close bug holes though, which makes it far more helpful in play because it frees up grenades for other uses.

Scythe is Sickle-lite. Sickle is the Battle Rifle while Scythe is the constant output SMG.
Use Dog Drone with Scythe. Constant damage to all enemies nearby so you can clean them up with your primary in seconds. Also I find using the scythe on heads and other weak points good enough if you shoot at things at maximum effective range.

Railgun is not a very good. You can kill chargers in 2-3 headshots with near full overcharge though.

Railgun isn't that great against bugs. Use it against bots.
Auto Cannon still kicks ass lately. Sure everything takes 2-3 shots but the rate of fire is good enough, reload time is decent, and it can be used to take out fabricators. I just don't see the railgun as goo unless you're sniping shit from far away. The moment more than one gunship, hulk, or devastator shows up the fire rate of the railgun becomes unbearable.

They are. It's the exact same problem as the flamethrower buffs : they balance based only on metrics without looking at the bigger picture. The game has been out for around 60 days, and we've killed 20 billion bugs. If you base yourself on nothing but that metric, 2 billion bugs in 6 days seems like a perfectly logical objective to set.
