What I like is that there are actually no indicators that Super Earth is actually undemocratic, because otherwise they wouldn't be this obsessed with voting, even if the voting system is a joke...just like it is in a modern representative democracy.
It's much more interesting to think of Super Earth as the tyranny of the majority, where it isn't just the government but the people as well who despise any sort of dissidence towards the majority opinions. The complete opposite of a polarized society, that is so extremely unified to the point where any sort of unorthodox opinions are naturally despised by the average citizen. It's tyrannical, because the people willingly voted for more tyrannical laws to target those who they perceive as fascists and socialists.
Some anon posted some video of some dev saying that they are evil. If that dev is the writer that created the story, I do not know. I suppose you could also take it as that he just considers the basics democracy evil, whether he's some hard right fascist (doubtful) or a marxist (probable). Personally, I always took it as just a silly backdrop for a video game, and not some politic stance or message. At least back when I played the first one. Helldivers is more pure vidya to me, it's more along the lines of Smash TV than it is some movie game with a super serious message.
It is sorta evil, but I like that it isn't the standard copy paste dictatorship that we see in every other game, because democracies can be just as evil and tyrannical if they become fanatical on a cultural level. It's interesting when you think about it.

Yeah, a lot of those missions like the oil ones are the devs poking fun at the US politic. And since the US can do all those things while technically still being a liberal democracy with some level of surveillance state, then the Helldivers Super Earth can be quite similar, but a further evolution of that.
'Managed democracy' can be an evolution of 'representative democracy', which isn't a true democracy either, but still retaining some democratic principles in various ways.

level 20 gets you the best stuff. Railgun and backpack shield gen will solve all bot/bug problems. And despite what the description says, the shield generator blocks melee attacks too.

That's not autoaim, the circle is your "actual" reticle being jostled by things like your movement or nearby explosions. They do that to show your aim being knocked off, instead of having your whole screen shake violently to match the central crosshair.

The railgun set to unsafe is actually easy mode. I was at extract last night and my whole squad died with no revives with 1:30 left. I threw mines out, then just sat up on a rock and casually popped ~10 hulks then walked into the shuttle with 20 samples.
It’ll definitely get nerfed I think, it can oneshot every unit in the game except bile titans, tanks and chargers but it just takes a quick shot to the leg and a couple shotgun blasts to kill those.

One uses chemical propellant while other uses electricity and magnets to launch a munition.
Also the former has several rounds in a magazine while the latter needs to reload after each shot.
The railgun penetrates heavy armor, the anti material rifle only penetrates light armor. And it will still take multiple shots. Railgun will one shot light armored enemies

dont fight enemies with inefficient weapons. have the guy with the recoilless take out chargers and keep other enemies off him, dont plink away with your small arms

To be fair, fighting the bots is more fun then fighting the bugs. You can only do so many encounters where its yet another swarm of melee enemies you play keep away with, before it gets stale.
A large portion of the player base doesn't understand that the battle is larger than individual missions. A portion within that have convinced themselves that they are "holding the line".

Yeah I can't believe these moronic fans would actually buy into the whole "interactive campaign" thing. No, you aren't holding a line. What you do doesn't matter.
The interactive campaign is real, to an extent. Planets closer to earth will be slightly inflated here and there from support provided by the devs, but fricking off to the edge of the solar system contributes nothing. You are actually making progress fighting off the bugs, but the devs do lend a helping hand here and there.
The issue is people don't understand that you have to secure planets, not just fight in the region itself, so they jump to planets liberated at 4% rather than going to the planets 40% liberated, making every mission they do worthless.
I did like, 12 missions of defense on Dubae or what ever and it kept going to 100% defended but I never got progress towards the big mission for the big pay out. And it gives shit XP and money. But apparently I need to finish 8 defense campaigns in 13 days. So that means I need to fully defend 8 planets while getting shit XP and money?

You don't have to be there, people who fricked off onto the opposite side of the solar system still got the cash upgrades from taking angels. But its always helpful to stay on planets that are closest to liberation.

You have to load in 4 at a time by yourself. If you only shot once, you can't reload it until you shoot 3 more times. And you need the pack that goes along with it.

It isn't, can't even penetrate armored bugs. The thing is only useful for robos. Sentry autocannon can blast through charger though, for some reason.
The autocannon, spear and recoilless are team weapons, you have the weapon itself and the backpack that carries all the ammo. You can load it yourself if you carry the backpack but it's noticably slower. The way to reload the autocannon backpack via supply pack is having someone else supply them with it.
How do I make other people who join me leave the party when we are done? When I join others I can just leave through the pods. Right now I restart the game.

With how matchmaking is right now, you might as well restart. I swear if you just play game after game as a host, your session will be stale or something, and you just won't get new players joining on subsequent missions even if you drop an SoS. You know you're session is fricked if you try to manually join another game that has open slots like 1/4, it attempts to do everything to connect you, then at the last second you get "unable to join." At that point, all I can do is restart my game in order to rejoin others. And yes, I have crossplay off.

I think this is true. I logged on and had a friend join my game. I could see the mission he just finished on the map with his name and everything. It stayed there the whole time we played together, of course being unjoinable.
The game is really active right now. If you host a new game and things are working, it shouldn't take more than even 30 seconds for someone to join if not have a full team. So it's really obvious that something is going on that prevents people from joining your game right now. What the actual problem is? That's up for the devs. Hope they fix it soon, though.

I'm trying to but the defend planet mission to evacuate 40 civilians feels impossible. Me and my friends have been doing all missions easily on Hard so far but this one we can't even complete, there's just way too many enemies
spam the buttons. have a person standing by each of the 3 buttons and spam off cooldown. i have been doing 8+9s with randos on this mission type and that's key.
even if you get 100 robo drops some of the civvies will make it throughh the meat grinder
We've literally been spamming them, the civilians just can't reach the dropship and clearing the way is impossible because the mission spawns in six hulks at a time. I'm just going to go back to killing bugs until the devs fix this, there's clearly something wrong
It wouldn't be so bad if the bots landed further away from the settlement and less frequently. Currently you have bots constantly landing on top of you. You finally grab some cover and then more bots show up behind you.

Shoot the engines with a support weapon.
You just can't do it fast enough. There's too many dropships.
You aren't supposed to easily be able to completely shutdown a bot drop. You're weren't supposed to get spotted in the first place. But shooting down at least one dropship will help.
Shooting the dude who is about to fire a flare, using support weapons like recoilless rifle on the huge engine blocks if the dropship, activating a SAM site on map, if there are any.

they're always moving is the problem, dropping stratagems directly on an enemy doesn't work like that. I'm pretty sure it lands at the point where strategem spawns or begins not at the point where the enemy currently is.
If you throw the marker on enemies sometimes it sticks. I noticed that the resupply lands where the beacon is at least some of the other strategems don't though. I have video but I can't post right now

The dmr needs a buff. It doesn’t pen any more than the assault rifle that you’re better off just tapping with. A scope with more zoom would be nice too.
Hold the reload button and you can change the range, flashlight, fire mode, and even rate of fire for the weapons.

tbh Its a running simulator but the best game I've played in a loooong time. I find that the control input lags out pretty hard in those in your face fights though.

you find a frick ton on objective maps, either in the drop pods marked with green beacons, the shipping containers you can blow the doors off with explosives or the double doors you need another player to open. IUf you activate a radio tower side objective, it marks all those treasure locations on your map

I think so. IIRC playing solo finding a SC drop is 10. I played some easy missions with a friend to find a radio tower and do some easy credit hunting and I think we got 8 SC pickups. Afterwards I got 40.
Find points of interest and especially bunkers and buried shipping containers. The containers can be opened with a grenade and usually have medals and SCs
minor points of interest have caches of one (drop pods), two (buried containers in ditches or under/near buildings), or three (two-man bunkers) item spots that can have random calldown weapons, medals, requisition point, or super creds.
Solo fullclear low level maps seems to be the best strategy to farm them. If you can do a mission in 20 minutes or even 30, it's decently rewarding (300 xp and 1500 requisition) plus you can get the extra medals and decent credits. I want to say it's an average of 30+ a map, more like 40. I don't know what the dev was talking abuot when he said he thinks it's 60 a day.

Believe that's the incendiary shotgun, haven't gotten it so don't have experience with it. Personally I haven't had any fps issues with Max settings on Malevelon Creek.

You can farm super credits by regular play and earn them faster than you can spend them. You get like 50 a match if you clear out all POIs. A full set of armor in the shop is like 300 so it's basically just "every 2 days here's two more armor sets for cosmetic purposes"

Shield backpack makes flamethrower actually good.
You can point blank enemies with it without accidently setting yourself on fire and having a shield makes waiting for enemies to burn to death not an issue.
Fire also bypasses most enemy armor.

No its fine, defend the building the civilians run to and just run down and hit the buttons every so often. Its really helpful to use the railgun to one shot striders and use the shield generator. Once people realize all they have to do is defend the building its really easy.

Fighting Automatons feels like a slog on 7+. Bugs feel really enjoyable to fight outside of the 4 - 8 chargers the game will drop on you at a moments notice.
Primaries feel like *complete* dog shit. Outside of that the game is pretty good.

i used to call out sonygays for never mentioning helldivers when it came to lists of sony games, and i would tell them that they had massive shit taste for not even knowing of its existence and even trying to shit on it.

You won't, nothing you pay for is worth it. Its all cosmetics and the paid battle pass doesn't have much.
Theres nothing to buy though, you earn premium currency in game, and all it does is unlock a different set of stuff to unlock, the armours you can buy are literally just the same armours you unlock but look different.
Im half way through the premium battlepass, and I didnt pay for it, I just used the earned currency to unlock it. Should be noted that they battlepasses wont be going away, so theres no rush.

Some people are obsessed with collecting all the samples. Got kicked for telling someone even if the dropship was called, we could still collect samples on the map unless someone hopped in it. I didn't even call the dropship.

I especially enjoy how the description of the 120mm barrage says it's a small area attack good for taking out clustered enemies, all it seems good for is evaporating 2-3 teammates no matter how far away they are
I've killed 4 automatons with it while throwing it right in the center of waves of them.
120mm would be great if it were actually a small, tight area and 380 if you could throw it super far

Look them up. They created Magicka and the first Helldivers which both did really well. Not sure about Gauntlet
they made Magicka, and Helldivers 1 is still supported.

1 AR, 1 SMG, 2 shotguns, 1 DMR and 2 sidearms. Also 2 nades.
Use map markers to tard wrangle your team. If you think your randos are reckless, then start maneuvering around their line-of-fire and all that bs. It's actually very simple when you do this because when you're out the way, then they have to go out *their* way to hurt you via collateral.
Be aware of Traitor strat players. dumbest shit I've seen in a while lmao. A guy gets the orbital barrage on them and sprints towards hoards of enemies.

For a second, I thought it's a "we're supposed to lose" sort of thing. And it may be that, but that'd be a stupid thing to do from a gameplay stand point. It's literally just as overwhelming from Trivial to Helldive.
I've cleared a few of them on higher tier difficulties.
Need mortars up constantly and recognize when to cut your losses bail out and regroup. People often keep desperately holding out, spawning and dying and it just snowballs and becomes unrecoverable.
Getting a red hit marker is the most confusing thing ever. Makes me instantly think its a killshot
