I fricking hate the 500kg bomb.
Bet it's hitbox is a thin fricking cylinder.
If you don't drop the bomb directly under the fricking big moron bug it'll get a leg or it's butt and it will do virtually nothing.
I also fricking hate how the hitbox of the pods themselves also seems to be tiny.
MAKE IT BACK TO HOW IT WAS ON HELLDIVERS 1 damn it.
it's better than anyone here will tell you, it does surprisingly good damage to heavy armor, but you 'll need some high ground and something to help keep aggro off you, either a sentry or some other lads running in first. spraying it on the troops being carried in by dropships make it pretty effective too.
Excellent against bugs, terrible against bots unless you have a choke on them where they can't really shoot at you without being in your sights. Better off just getting the autocannon sentry on that 50% extra ammo upgrade.
>Play with randoms >they autistically clear out every outpost and leave with a wopping 3 samples total >Bump up the difficulty >1-2 morons somehow die 20 times with 3 minutes
I mostly do that because teammates are too busy autistically farming infinite mob spawns from bug breaches or bot drops. I simply have nothing else to do and I refuse to stay and farm with them. Plus it's esay to clear fabricators that happen to be in the way while looking for super samples.
>clearing outposts >not getting any samples
how?
surely people have come to realize the entire reward of outposts (aside from giving you zones of control to retreat into) is the samples in them, right?
who am i kidding, i quickplay into so many lobbies on 9 that still zerg the main objective and extract with 15 minutes on the clock but no samples
There's something to be said about being on the constant run, throwing every bombardment at your own feet just to make space as much as there is to be with Metal Gear Soliding entire outposts with multiple coordinated shooters sniping every bot at the same time.
The devs are too busy fixing the game but after they do i really hope they work on balance because shit's just way too skewed right now >Literally no primary can compete with the autoshotgun, it's objectively the best weapon for every mission >The personal shield is absurdly strong, almost tripling your survivability which means you should almost always bring it >The Railgun is way more efficient at dealing with armored enemies than any other weapon, on top of not requiring a backpack and having enough ammo that you can use it to kill a lot of annoying medium armor enemies too, meaning its almost always the objectively right choice for higher difficulties
The game is just going to get stale if they don't fix these equipment being so overwhelmingly better than literally any of the other options
>no primary can compete with the autoshotgun >The personal shield is absurdly strong, almost tripling your survivability which means you should almost always bring it >can't even bring both in the same loadout because breaker eats through ammo and makes ammo backpack mandatory
yeah you have no idea what are you talking about
Maybe you should aim at the aliens so you don't waste your ammo. Besides if anything the autoshotgun is more ammo efficient simply because it deals so much more damage than any other primary that it will kill more enemies overall before running out of ammo.
Breaker is a great "oh frick" primary weapon. I mainly Arc and go shotty if something surrounds me with a quick sweep.
The big targets get strat'd and a AC turret to knock out some medium rushes.
Don't use shields though. They encourage moron play.
Breaker doesnr eat through ammo unless you dump half a mag on every single enemy. 360 damage per shot, over 5000 damage per mag. Compare this to, say, Liberator that deals ~ 2500 damage per mag while carrying same amount of reserve ammo. This is the root of the issue: no other weapon comes even close to the sheer amount of bugs you can kill per refill.
If you struggle with trigger control and keep running out of ammo (like you obviously do), you can even swap it to single-fire mode. Hold R my friend.
I have no issues with conserving breaker ammo. That's what your secondary is for, or your support, or your stratagems
By the time I even get close to running out a supply drop has happened or I picked up ammo. Don't waste all your shotgun rounds into armor that it bounces off like a moron
t.clueless morons who drag the team down and eat all supplies without contributing anything
the kind of shitters I hate the most
>I don't run out of ammo >YOU'RE EATING SUPPLIES
Are you fricking moronic? Breaker doesn't need more than one of the refills. You're just bad at the game
>doesn't kill bugs >always stuck behind >calls supplies in the middle of nowhere >y-y-you're bad at the game!

>projecting
You're bad at the game. I don't even need to be the one to call supplies. I know that almost every outpost you get to has spare supplies. And if I was falling behind as you're pretending, someone else would've gotten to them first if you're about to start coping by saying that's the equivalent of calling supplies
You are shit. You are bad. You run out of shotgun rounds because you're bad. You mindlessly pump 4 mags into charger plates.
I have no issues with conserving breaker ammo. That's what your secondary is for, or your support, or your stratagems
By the time I even get close to running out a supply drop has happened or I picked up ammo. Don't waste all your shotgun rounds into armor that it bounces off like a moron
The issue is anon they will simply nerf them without buffing anything so it'll be an overall net negative. honestly people need to quit playing these shitty games because it is literally a loop that never ends with nerfs in a coop game.
Hope to frick they go the other route and buff everything else. Nerfing the good shit to be in line with stuff that’s objectively worse is always immensely moronic for PvE games
For as much as the game is getting compared to mobile infantry from the Starship Troopers film, I think Helldivers are much closer to M.I from the book in function. >Small element size >Emphasis on maneuver warfare behind enemy lines
I think making a mech-suit version of the jump kit that has a near-zero cooldown would probably be the closest we’ll have gotten to seeing the M.I mech suits realized in anything besides the OVAs in the early 2000s.
Don’t know how well that’d mesh with the dev’s design philosophy for mecha though (but honestly frick the devs they came up with this dull railgun meta purely from their own armored enemy spam).
i know they’ve showcased the heavy mech but i’m talking something more sleek and mobility focused. like a MJOLNIR suit, but for jump-jetting around the map.
vehicles will probably be a thing again and fill the maneuver warfare niche, i know, but i’m just spewing my wish fulfillment to play a book-version mobile infantryman
I really wish they would halve the heavy enemy spawns and double the light/medium spawns so the entire team composition didn't have to revolve around you needing to deal with 50 chargers and hulks spawning every 10 seconds
All they really need to do is fix patrols spawning on top of you, because that's where heavies come from on higher difficulties. They don't spawn from bug breaches or bot drops, the game just spams you with patrols.
yeah they do come out of breaches, of course
what I mean is you get spammed by heavies even when you prevent all bug breaches and bot drops. They come from thin air.
>They come from thin air.
I love this game but this in particular is pure bullshit

i've had it happen to me, with witnesses.
>oh boy matchmaking is back, finally i don't have to wait for a non-bait thread to play 7+ >first person that joins takes EAT, recoilless, and mines
i never knew how good i had it with Gankerirgins.

To clarify, I wasn’t calling you a liar, I meant the fact that it happens is bullshit. I’ve had it happen to me too and it’s lame as frick

EAT and recoilless are amazing for bot missions.

not together. waste of a slot.
Uhoh. I love my recoiless. Which is the EAT? I don't use mines though
EAT is the one-use launcher. they're both good, but bringing 2 support weapons that do the same thing is not ideal.

EAT even if it fulfills the same role allows other players to use and expend them when defending if they don't have anti armour weapons and the stratagem timer is faster.
still there are other more effective stratagems.

eat helps your buddy, recoiless is if you wanna trust that random to keep you topped up, which i always do even if 25% of them don't know how
This must have just happened to me on the last mission I played for the night. I just got wave after wave of enemies showing up right on the extract even though I was not getting any dropships called on me. Too much bullet and rocket spam from heavies to deal with and it was an extract location with basically no cover. It was unmanageable and made no sense as to where they were all coming from. Fricking annoying.
What secondary are you guys using? I feel like the revolver is a bit too unwieldy since it only gets six shots and takes forever to reload, and the SMG just eats trough ammo too fast, so i'm actually just using the basic pistol. It works pretty well for shooting small enemies to conserve ammo
Pick an egg mission. These are pretty easy to complete in duos, and with a 4 stack it should be no issue. Pick a map that has good visibility and long sightlines. The snow maps are good for this. Spawn in the middle of the map and look for the egg-shaped tower that spawns the pink samples. It is visible from very far away, and is not near main or side objectives.
Take light armor. Armor is bugged and there's no reason to gimp yourself taking anything but light armor. The light armor with increased stealth is actually helpful, though other good picks are light armors with extra stims.
Railgun. Mandatory pick. Should be obvious why, this thing doesn't need a backpack and is a straight up versatile weapon that can counter a lot of enemies.
Shield backpack. Semi-mandatory, makes you about 3x more tanky and is a crutch for high level content. It just makes life so much easier when you're not getting 1-hit by bile spitters that sneak up on you.
Railgun orbital. Useful against bile titans.
Your other choice offensive call-in, minigun sentry or some eagle airstrike is a solid pick.
For passives I would take the stamina one if you have it, otherwise health is a solid pick.
Have 1 guy go hunting for the egg-shaped rock while the others go after the objective. If the scout finds the 3 pinks, have him run to extraction and drop the samples there, then help out if there are objectives that need completing.
We've been able to get 6/hour doing this, and very consistently. You could even solo it if you wanted, going hunting for the pink samples and just waiting at extraction for the pelican to land when the timer runs out.
>Armor is bugged and there's no reason to gimp yourself taking anything but light armor.
You will not get me out of my trench engineer armor. I dive in style and explode everything for you. You'll never even see a jellybean bug if I'm in the game.
So what Sentry/Emplacements are worth it? Gatling seems good but even with the 50% extra ammo seems to blow through it too fast to be as good as like any eagle. Mortars good if well placed and somehow you don't kill the team. The HMG emplacement seems good but also chew its ammo for what amounts to a fodder killer. Tesla seems eh.
Stun-generator tossing one against bugs, always. It cannot teamkill and it locks down bug rushes for easy orbitals/killing as they stand still. Neutralizes Stalkers and Bile Spewers entirely. Fricking underused gem that trivializes 90% of encounters. Use it. Useituseituseit.
For bots the mortar: they spawn in clumps, like to keep far away and move slowly. Mortar gets free safe kills with minimal friendly fire.
straight up cancelled my preorder when i found out about it. how dumb do you have to be to need anticheat in a co op always online game.
it doesn't even work either lmao
Hate how DRG and now this is making me jerk off to insect ladies again, doesn't help the queue is abyss- >black screen as I finish typing this
frick this shit I am opening the Regura folder
Wake me up when they fix the fricking servers and I can slay bugs
I'll never understand the phenomenon of coomers needing to immediately jerk off to everything possible, this artist could probably draw a cool battle scene but instead here we are looking at a bug with boobs

HD1 never hit even close to this level of popularity, but it was still pretty big here. I mean, obviously, right? The theming is very on point for Ganker.
I'm pretty disappointed about the lack of content in this game, but I guess that's the price of third person? Honestly, though, to me a lot of things in the game feel worse than HD1. Like, the shotguns lack the diversity of gameplay that they had in hd1. The punisher is just a bad breaker, not a pseudo sniper rifle that really felt like a crushingly powerful pump shotty, and the breaker isn't "clear whole screens with one shot" anymore.
Yeah I was holding off my purchase to wait for kore content and stability. Where does it play in the story? Is there still this meta game of the galactic war with conquering sectors with the community?
And how are the continuous beam weapons? Loved those in HD1 and made meme loadouts where I had the big shoulder fired beam and the normal beam rifle.
Also these planets with houses on them need some roads, it makes no sense they are spread out so far, have vehicles scattered everywhere with tires but no one decided to pave or make a dirt road toward the little green houses around. How do they find that shit on the snow planets?
one of the fresh bug planets was volcanic looking that I saw, beside that we've seen- >rocky hills >lush jungle >arid desert >snowy tundra >temperate plains
which can be palette swapped and have >rain, fog, dust storms, blizzards that reduce visibility, rain & fog can combine >heat that fricks up your stamina & raises energy weapon heat rate >cold that lowers energy weapon heat rate
might be forgetting a planetary condition, I think there were also lightning storms which could strike you or enemies.
I picked it up about a year ago and even then it was dwindling hard but if you like co-op games it's great. HD2 is great. Same concept, different way to play it.

The eagle strats changes are way cool though.
>The eagle strats changes are way cool though.
This is my favorite change so far. I wish the mines still laid out the way they used to though but it makes more sense for this game.
You can find or make chokepoints in the terrain and you want to be able to get around those as well I guess, but they seem to lack the power they used to have for defense.
My best use of mines now is a cover tactic.
Man this game is exhilarating. Being pushed by 3 tanks while dropship after dropship delivers endless armies of robots who light up the night with non-stop laser fire and then nearly being blown away by artillery and you TRY to call an airstrike but you CAN'T because the course of your retreat has taken you directly to a jammer so you hole up on the pillboxes there with your boys and hold off the tide desperately while one teammate shuts it off
Frickin good ass shit I tell you
>horde shooter >steals starship trooper's themes and aesthetics >you play it for 2 hours and you'd have seen everything there is to do >astroturfed to hell and back >servers still don't work but people are fine with it because the devs are an """indie studio""" that dindu nuffin
the game is fun but it's not the second coming of jesus in vidya format, it's an okay shooter carried by the fact you can play it with friends, which can make playing anything more fun that it really is
except payday was already dying before the new game was made. no one asked for or wanted a sequel, and when it released with a shit ton of problems that was it.
the game isn't special at all, it's going through its hayday because it's le fun with friends and i guess it has a pretty memeable setting that Black folk got hooked on. that and the fact that every streamer is promoting the game by making videos of them screaming while shooty shooty. big deal. it's fomo + fotm
Payday 2 was dying because literally everyone wanted a sequel, meanwhile the game was on like third rerun of "parent company fricked up again and we have to release more DLC" this time with even lazier cash grabs, for payday 2 complete (1) for realsiest this time final v2
target-rich environments and the tools which with to dispose of them
dying to explosions or unavoidable situations is funny, and barely an inconvenience since even a party wipe just auto-respawns the squad
>Difficulty 5-6 solo >Mission going perfectly wiping out outposts and collecting some samples >Come across two hulks or two chargers >Game just keeps spamming me with patrols and then bug breaches or bot drops >Go from 5 lives to fricking 0 because I've been fighting in the same zone for 10 fricking minutes >Constantly in a sea of rockets or the sky is full of fricking hunters jumping across the planet to slow debuff me >Maybe I finally get my samples back and my support items or maybe I make a break for the evac
Holy frick I enjoy this game but this shit is frustrating as hell tonight I'm drowning in a sea of homosexual robots and homosexual bugs where every mission is fine until one minor point of interest becomes a war of attrition against infinite enemies to the point my FPS drops and my breaker mags can't accommodate everything I need to kill
I realize it's because third worlders are resentful toward multiplayer games, since they can't afford anything and would have to play with other South Americans even if they could.
It's kids with no money complaining that there's too many games they want to play coming out too quickly because they're used to the modern game cycle of one interesting game releasing every 5 years, whereas 10+ years ago it was completely normal for like 10 good games to release in the same month
It's been a phrase for ages, but there has been a surge in recent usage due to shazamgays misusing it. They're used to focusing on 1 big release for months upon end, but recently there have been a relatively quick succession on successful games that they want to shitpost against. Ironically, they're feeling FOMO but for their shitposting to antagonize fans of series. Go into any recently popular game thread and 10-15% of all posts are these gays trying to start fanbase wars or using twitterHispanic phrases.
So is the situation now that we can get on and use matchmaking but now it's literally impossible to complete a mission without disconnecting? Sometimes I can get up to 20 minutes in a session other times less than 5 but I can never make it to extraction without disconnecting.
Difficulty 7-8 solo missions are pretty neat. You get into some real stealth/guerilla warfare style gameplay. It's like playing a completely different game.
My experience with solo high difficulty has been bullshit spawning more enemies that I can't possibly kill in time before they endlessly spawn more and I cant do the objective
I guess I should specify that I'm doing this on bot missions. I don't think bugs would be manageable solo on higher difficulties.
My strategy is I basically only do certain side objectives and POIs if I can take out the existing enemies without getting more than one drop called on me, that way I can usually get them done before another patrol arrives. I don't bother clearing bases unless it's got mortars or some kind of strategem blocker within rage of a main objective. If I get overrun I run the frick away until stuff deaggros and I reposition.
In the end I take home more samples and requisition than I would full clearing on lower difficulties, and it's tense the whole time.
It's ass backwards that it's only on the easiest difficulty, you'd think expending mass resources and manpower for a completely symbolic action would be Super Earth's motto.
you haven't done the Raise the Super Earth Flag objective? it forces you to sit around while a camera drone watches a call-in flag raises over the course of a painful minute while upraising patriotic music plays for a propaganda reel
It's ass backwards that it's only on the easiest difficulty, you'd think expending mass resources and manpower for a completely symbolic action would be Super Earth's motto.
well that explains why I hardly ever see it if it's only available on Trivial POI farms
can kill and survive just fine and "pull my weight" despite not having access to most stuff but Ill be honest I still dont have a clue on how to properly clear out a map. I just beeline towards a main or sub objective and will hit anything interesting I see on the way but idk, sometimes feels like Im wandering or spending too much time following others - it just feels like so many of the "good" players I play with or see have some autistic map sense and just sniff out every single speck on every single map and I feel like a faker compared to them. I know the majority of the sample finds, outposts killed, side objectives, etc at the end screen are not being done by me.
also I think I definitely fricked up raising my FOV when I first started. I think a more zoomed in perspective on your helldiver makes more sense and is more immersive but now it feels too cramped to change
Some of the maps are, allegedly, the same. The biggest autist in my friend group pointed this out, but I have not noticed (besides the defense ones). This would probably be why some people know where the hot spots are.
For me, I run towards red circles once I get a good timetable of being able to complete the main objective. No outpost left standing.
>I just beeline for the objectives, why can't I figure out where shit is on the map?
Have you.. you know.. tried not beelining the objectives? If you want to figure out how to find shit on the map you should probably try exploring the map.
Mechs in a month. Bullshit "surprise" attacks and inexplicable fronts advancing because the mass amount of players winning the war would be boring. Luminates in 6 months after lots of teasing to revitalize money with new warbond too.
>Bullshit "surprise" attacks and inexplicable fronts advancing because the mass amount of players winning the war would be boring
They don't need to pull any surprise attacks or any inexplicable advancement.
The fricking bot defense escort mission is already impossible for like 95% of groups on any difficulty above 5, they don't need to do anything. They'll keep pulling shit like this before releasing some new gear or mech to counteract the new missions or straight up tone them down when they want shit to continue.
right here, the best I got is a grenade launcher and I can't deal with chargers unless I get carried by someone else bringing a railgun >just shoot their ass
yeah but what about the SECOND charger?
Start using your aereal bombardment waifu you fricking donkeys.
Cluster bombs have 4 uses before reload and leave chargers dead if not damaged enough to finish them off easily.
>Post predictions for the roadmap.
They're swedish devs so they'll spend the next 3 months patching the fun out of the game, adding tiny things that nobody asked for and aren't what made the game popular in the first place and then they'll go silent for a few years
I just want more shit eventually, since they surprisingly fixed soo many frickups soo quickly, being Swedish
don't want them to forget about new biomes and (sub-sub-)mission if anything, and weapon mods were also apparently a thing in the first game
I WILL finish my helldiving tour, I WILL obtain my C1 permit, and I WILL obtain my state funded genetically modified emotional-support e-girl cat girl.
Just soloed my first bug diff 7 mission, apparently the shield is pretty much busted because it also protects you against melee attacks and the rail gun is a beast against chargers.
Basically this game can be soloable and FUN but only once you level up to 20.
right here, the best I got is a grenade launcher and I can't deal with chargers unless I get carried by someone else bringing a railgun >just shoot their ass
yeah but what about the SECOND charger?
All the viable stratagems are fricking boring. There's no reason to bring things like smoke or EMP orbitals or mines because they can't oneshot tanks and enemies ignore them half the time.
What the frick was the point of them removing the ability to pick multiple of the same stratagem for Helldivers 1
This is so frustrating, I get disconnected in every session and it freezes making me force quit. One step forward, three steps back twenty seven steps sideways and a three sixty pelvic thrust with this game.
Why the FRICK can I not drop barricades and cover to shoot behind (and better variants are you get higher level)? There's so many things they could've added but instead they just made it so you can get yet another new worthless explosion that's probably gonna kill your team and miss the enemies completely even though you put the market right on top of them
Its probably not going to happen and i honestly don't even know if it makes sense but i really, really, really wish they added a big ass vehicle that acted as a mobile base you can walk inside of, like the Mammoth from Halo 3. I love mobile bases so much, and this would be the perfect game for one
I broke this down like a USCSB incident briefing. The following could have prevented this, in order. >Reading the missions operation modifiers and becoming aware stratagems were scrambled >Making sure the rest of the team was aware stratagems were scrambled >Noticing the stratagem ball in their hand was red >Noticing the stratagems pillars of light were red >Hearing "Calling in Eagle" or "Calling in orbital" over the radio
That last one is impossible for these console players however because they never hear shit.
Someone give me the facts on where I can shoot certain enemies. Can I damage bile titans with normal guns once I've blown the green slime stomachs? Can I damage tanks with a gun?
Bile titans are impermeable to almost anything but explosives, fire, anti-tank rounds and the railgun.
So far I've finished them off after air strikes with the grenade launcher, flamethrower and the railgun a couple times to the face.
Railgun, as always, offers the best damage.
Flamethrower is very slow but I'm sure constant fire from 4 players should account to something.
I just want to say this is a fun game when you can actually get on to play. The first one was a blast and I continued playing it off and on until this launch.
Frick the devs for the server issue though.
This is cool to see. Me and a buddy just tried level 3 and decided we should grab more gear before progressing.
It's amazing how useful the RR still is. All you need is one other person who isn't braindead to reload you and every enemy becomes trivial.
>Mission rolls satellite sub-objective >Reveals ALL the vaults in the map and shit sometimes they even drop scredits along with the resources >Everyone just goes full moron towards the evac point anyways
Dude, what's the hurry?
Did you say anything? If I'm dropping the pins I mostly push objectives and do whatever we trip over in the process. If some says they want to clear something out or drop a pin I'll always check it out.
How would you improve the shitty stratagems? I for one don't like the contrivance behind some of them becoming totally useless when newer, better ones, are unlocked. It's bad game design to have a bunch of shit you devoted dev time to going straight into the trash for the sake of using the objectively best loadouts.
Say that again when An Exercise in Futility, The Definition of Insanity and The Inner Circle of Hell come back and the only way to succeed is to be a metagoober.
You missed the point of what he said. The faves are probably hot dogshit
In my case, my faves are smokes and EMP orbitals, but neither kills enemies and then you get overrun with charges. If you even want to complete missions past a certain level you have to metaslave at least two of your slots or you're literally useless and even a paste-eating moron in your place could do better with just a railgun or an orbital laser or whatever. Even just bringing a shield means when you die, someone else actually useful can pick it up

Smokes more consistently block sight and enemies in melee usually can't see you in there even if you can see them. Will it be stupid strong? Yes. But they were going to die from a strike anyway
Let gas amplify damage
Let mines get a stratagem that allies can't die from their explosions (can still be taken to 1 hp or something though, and just treat the first one you walk into as a warning)
The wide area RNG orbitals should indicate where they're going to land
Overall, the weaker used stratagems should have a couple button presses taken off their command (more than they already are; put them at the base orbital level of 3 buttons) so you can pump them out faster
While there is definitely room for some rebalancing, I also think both weak weapons and stratagems can be given a boost in other ways than directly buffing them.
Like more modifiers on missions or mission types.
For example:
"Administrative error on this front has lead to shortage of supplies for [popular stratagem] and it now have 3x cooldown"
"Mission: Destroy AA guns, until they are destroyed no eagle strikes will be available"
Loadout synergy buffs could be fun, like using acid smoke causes a debuff on anything in it for the sake of your other stratagems, or turrets being more effective as some sort of targeting buff, the more turrets there are and so on.
All you need to make a thing popular in japan is cool enough aesthetic with some theming to back it up
space marines in cool ass full body armor fighting 'evil' aliens is hotcakes
>can't use any primary besides the penetrator because of the armor enemy spam >penetrator somehow has the least satisfying burst fire of any gun i've ever used
I honestly just miss the default rifle.
Penetrator has roughly the same damage per mag if you hit roughly 33% headshots (which are unarmored), while being considerably worse against low-armor mooks. If you set normal Liberator to burst fire and aim for the head you should have similar results. The only upside it has is being able to damage tank weakpoints, but you shouldnt be using small arms for that anyways.
I actually miss the full auto the most. The Penetrator's burst fire isn't even a burst fire, it's only burst if you hold it down. I think I'm just gonna say frick it and go back to 'ol reliable.
Good for you. It sad that nearly all primary weapon except Breaker are direct downgrades that do maybe sliiightly better in one narrow role, but everything else considerably worse. There arent that many weapons to begin with, I'd love for more of them to be viable. Agreeing to not use more than 1 Railgun per squad helps a lot, but currently there's very little sense to not go railgun+breaker+shield for everyone.
I've unlocked all weapons in the game, and it definitely feels like breaker and the Uzi are the best weapons to bring, the only other weapons that don't make me feel like I'm gimping myself when I bring them, are the dominator, slugger and the scorcher
They just need to buff the damage done for some of the other weapons and the ammo economy for others, no reason why the explosive liberator needs a full mag to kill a stalker while the breaker does it in around 5 shots
If I remember correctly, I need 3 supply refills to resupply my slugger, meanwhile I get 7 mags for the breaker from one refill
>tuned defend civilian escort mission
So is this admitting the "we're supposed to lose" wasn't actually real for the narrative? They really did just overtune the difficulty across the mission? How easy are they now?
The theory going around is that the mission was bugged in the sense that it's stated to be a 40 minute mission, but the in game timer is only 15, which was causing some weird scaling issues, but it's not a confirmed theory, haven't tried it in the new patch, not sure if they fixed that timer issue
>recoiless rifle was so strong they had to give it backblast after they discovered how strong a rapidly reloading tank destroying machine it was back in 1
>Waffle House orbital drop called in >The waffle house owned ship in orbit hucks a drop pod full of hashbrowns and coffee at you >Provides health and stamina boost for ten minutes >Top tier strat drops an entire fricking restaurant on the planet >Cooks will help you fight but only have flamethrowers
Hell yeah brother, give me them taters
>can see other player's missions now and actually join randoms >reinforce bug where the game just flat out denies you from being able to drop down to the batlefield if you die
One step forward, One step backward.
not sure how I feel about this
I'm over this game, piece of shit has frozen on me 3 times tonight when that never happened in the 12 hours prior to playing. I'm officially fricking mad and not gonna play this piece of shit until it has 6 months worth of patches.
I think I overheard an NPC say that the bugs & bots are different than the ones from the first game, but I don't really pay attention to the lore, so i don't fricking know
They're pretty clearly different. The cyborgs were cyborgs, these are all bot. No more mutant little guys, the lowest enemies are basically like pure mechanical versions of the first game's butchers.
The bugs are more similar, but called terminids instead of just "bugs" now. Not clear whether or not they still turn into oil.
and where the FRICK are my squids.
Yes exactly, you never know where your teams loyalties really lie. You could get shot in the back at any moment anon.

I require a traitor faction that uses player stratagems against players just to make fratricide even more prominent.
A traitor legion could be cool but frick having randos be flagged as traitors that just sounds like Super Aids.

Bots and bugs could do this if variant forces were introduced. Like a randomized chance to drop and get bots or bugs that use slightly different tactics and units that involve the grotesque cyborgs from the first game or possessed/ zombified humans via some new bug unit.

cyborgs in the first game were a breakaway society from super earth who used body modifications and liked to to work out. maybe they turned full-machine after 100yrs

Cyborgs could easily come back to be a seperate flesh bodyhorror faction totally different than the bots
This but it's a Star Trek mirror universe type situation instead

Actually not a half-bad idea? In the CthulhuTech trainwreck-TTRPG-that-initially-had-some-good-ideas extraterrestrial Mi-Go Black folk fabricated the Nazzadi, a whole semi-human race, from scratch to wage war against humanity:
https://villains.fandom.com/wiki/Mi-go#CthulhuTech_Migou >putting some alterations into human DNA taken from people they'd beamed up and kidnapped; essentially churning out millions of space elves in clone factories >making up a whole culture for them where ~~*humans*~~ had always been the evil oppressors trying to eradicate glorious Nazzadi empire >equipping their cannon fodder slaves with Mi-Go sci-fi tech and Macross mechs,
The Mi-Go used the Nazzadi as a proxy army while hiding their presence in the solar system and it worked pretty well for 5-10 years iirc, until high-ranking Nazzadi defectors jumped ship and gave away the Mi-Go gameplan of subjugating both humanity and the Nazzadi to basically use as a food source. Humans and not!humans came to an uneasy truce, shared knowledge with each other (Nazzadi had the more advanced tech but weren't big on inventive nor free thinking, since their "civilization" had existed for barely 35 years and was basically space Best Korea run by the Mi-Go) but above all discovered they were genetically compatible with each other, since the Nazzadi were just homans with some cosmetic changes.

Ultra Earth forces are an alternate universe faction of humans who actually win against the bugs and borgs but with no enemies left to gift the glories of democracy, Ultra Earth starts invading other dimensions to spread controlled democracy even to the humans in those timelines/dimensions who they have deemed aren't democratic enough.

>evil goatees instead of capes
You have my attention.
>Not clear whether or not they still turn into oil.
They do, one of the ship NPCs mentions that the current war started after the bugs managed to escape the farms, and Terminid planets can have oil-related objectives on them. It's called 'E-170' or some other sci-fi sounding name now but it's definitely still oil.
from what i remember SE has a few reasons to exterminate factions
Cyborgs were super earth defectors who embraced transhumanism and non capitalist brainwashing for becoming one with a machine
Bugs just kill and eat everything, but they can be turned into some oil product and live near oil reserves since they don't use it like borgs
Illuminates are too advanced in technology, so SE skipped negotiations and went straight for fighting, oh and because illuminates are harsh to their own folks if they fail
>tuned defend civilian escort mission
So is this admitting the "we're supposed to lose" wasn't actually real for the narrative? They really did just overtune the difficulty across the mission? How easy are they now?
I swear everything I look at in this game feels like a framework for something that could be good but has absolutely no effort put into it beyond that.
Why are the ship modules so bland and do effectively nothing noticeable if you get everything? Why even implement boosters and make them party-wide if it isn't possible for your party to even run 4 of them before you'll inevitably get bored and quit? Why not just combine the two, make the ship upgrades actually noticeable and let you specialize, but you can only pick one?
Why is there only a single item that counts as an emplacement, why can't I drop cover or something? Why aren't there more missions that encourage usage of things like mines so they aren't useless? The most fun part of any mission for me is extraction and it takes frick all time.
Why are there smokes but no infared goggles that let you shoot through them? Why don't EMPs simply kill the electrical robots?
Why can't I customize my ship or change my armor color? Why can't I pick which NPCs are on my ship and get bonuses for them
>Toss grenade into a big bug nest >Mission objective is to then jump into the hole to find and kill the queen bug
Possibly tight space pants shitting kino
>it just werks
no it doesn't, it stays on "searching for active SOS beacon" then swaps to "Establishing ship u-link" or w/e then back to searching for active SOS beacon
shit's still busted
yup 100% armor effect are up and running and the napalm strike isn't bugged at all. I've been jumping in and out of games all day.
If you have a problem is must be on your end.
Recoilless rifle has the widest range of enemies it can counter. Slowest to reload solo.
Autocannon handles light and medium armor with ease and only hits weakpoints on heavy targets. Medium reload.
EAT is a better solo option to deal with heavies but you'll eventually see more heavies than you have rockets.
Different purposes
EAT: short cooldown, you get 2 every call in, just spam it off cooldown and use them against heavies
Recoilless: EAT but with a backpack reload requirement, can be good if you can get someone else to reload for you, otherwise use the EAT
Auto cannon: general purpose support weapon, reload it before it's empty for fast reloading, use it against mediums, some heavies, bile titans and hulks will give you trouble, 1 shot to the bug hole will destroy it, if you're good you can ricochet a round into the bot factory to destroy it too
Fast EXP farming and sample farming are pretty much mutually exclusive
For fast EXP, spam defense missions, do the "Eradicate X/Y Forces" 15 minute missions and nothing else, bring mortars
You'll frick over the galactic war if you do this though, I think cancelling operations count as failed operations and reduce war score
For samples, just do the normal missions and comb the map and extract, Google the purple supersamples when you hit difficulty 7, they are special and found all together at one location instead of being scattered all over the map
there are 10-ish normal samples on the same fixed positions on eradicate forces missions so you do 1 mission, learn the locations and you can walk away from that mission every time with less than a minute of work so it's good for farming those pesky little normals
Time to clear up a small misconception. Many people assume that once the drop ship has landed it is important to keep everyone covered and not enter until everyone is inside. Not so! In fact once the drop ship has landed the PVP round has started and it is important to kill as many of your fellow helldivers as quickly as possible so you are the only one able to leave. I strongly suggest impact grenades or cluster bombs. It is very funny and everyone will clap and congratulate you once you succeed, however, you must disconnect immediately to find a new group to compete against..
What loadout do I have to bring solely to kill chargers, overturned broken ass enemy type that will definitely get nerfed one day alhamdulilah, why's a low tier boss more difficult than the higher level titans
Im amazed this appeared out of nowhere and has all this live play and hype. Gives me hope and demonstrates the power of gamers to get behind something.
I enjoy the fantasy of killing hordes of bugs rather than robots but I think once I'm lvl 20 I'm done with bugs because a couple of the enemy types are too annoying to deal with
>stratagems
there's like 40 something and will unlock the fastest with regular money(apparently some kind of ship customization is coming out next month which will probably use regular money as a dump too) >ship modules
15 of them i think, most common and needed resource for them is easy to farm >battlepasses
will vary in size, uses medals as the currency and will by far take the longest to complete
Devs need to buff more weapons to make them viable or at least offer upgrades because there's really no reason to use most weapons at the hardest difficulties due to how inefficient they are.
the power thing on their back explodes if you shoot it iirc
>finally manage to join a game with randos last night >everyone's quiet as the grave the whole time >people dying left and right, nobody managed to collaborate or strategize >after 30 minutes of bullshit, the objectives are completed >head to the extraction point to finally end this shitshow >bunch of soibeards start peaking their shitty headsets, going "NO NO NO DON'T END WE HAVE TO CLEAR ALL THE HIVES UNNNNNH"
God forbid you just end this shitshow and progress onto another mission. Fricking completionist autists.
its kind of crazy how little rewards you get for clearing nests, almost like they incentivise you to do the actual objectives
>finally manage to join a game with randos last night >everyone's quiet as the grave the whole time >people dying left and right, nobody managed to collaborate or strategize >after 30 minutes of bullshit, the objectives are completed >head to the extraction point to finally end this shitshow >bunch of soibeards start peaking their shitty headsets, going "NO NO NO DON'T END WE HAVE TO CLEAR ALL THE HIVES UNNNNNH"
God forbid you just end this shitshow and progress onto another mission. Fricking completionist autists.
tell them that you only get slightly more exp and req, both of which are useless in the long run compared to getting more medals and samples out. that said, rare samples (the biggest grind besides medals lategame) spawn next to hives on higher diffs, so you should clear them out if only to get all the samples on the map. extracting is ONLY for getting samples out, because you don't really lose a lot just by dying after you complete the main objectives
They might be shit but that's how you play the game. If you want quick runs host yourself.
not at level 50. i wish i knew early on that getting samples/medals was all that really matters.
How did you not know early on when you don't receive samples from anything but exploration and you would be chasing the ship upgrades as soon as they're unlocked? What did you even do to get 50 and miss the point?
It's not even effecient. Just do elimination missions and power level. Or if for samples, get them on the way. I haven't seen a noticeable bonus for time spent sweeping a map compared to just moving on. It seems even.
>lvl 7 launch missile silo >shitshow since minute one, bots everywhere >manage to destroy two big compounds, artillery, secondary objective >level 10 pink homosexual just strays from the group and beelines toward the silo >we don't even have the two launch codes >me and two other guys keep going, shooting bots, manage to secure both launch codes >pink homosexual has been crouching AFK in a bush 100m from the launch site for 10 minutes now >we arrive at silo >"good job pink" >kick him out 20 minutes into the mission
Rootkit permissions and PS account permissions will allow Sony a certain amount of data access.
How much nobody knows.
Rootkit operates on ring 0 access to your PC. So it can access all data, including hardware level (make changes on OC etc). It access everything (current and cache memory) on your PC without your permission.
>finally able to get into games >level 10, just unlocked autocannon. feeling like hot shit at difficulty 5 to people around my level >join a random game with level 40+ dudes >complete a mission, they bump up to level 7 >then 8 >basically just a sample and respawn mule, running around and barely staying alive as I autocanon snipe what I can
Goddam this game is fun
I don't know what those personal shielded bros are doing making bases explode but man I'm cheering them on and drawing an entire direction's worth of bots attention while they do it.
Well lads, just unlocked the last eagle upgrade.
Happy to anounce I no longer hate the 500 kg bomb because I got 2 of them and I no longer have to use the shitty cluster bombs because I get 3 air strikes.
Reminder to kick braindead morons just before they enter the ship, so they get booted out of the game with no rewards and possibly even crash and have to wait in queue again, its what you deserve for not doing anything you fricking homosexuals
>tfw 500kg bomb one shots them

I fricking hate the 500kg bomb.
Bet it's hitbox is a thin fricking cylinder.
If you don't drop the bomb directly under the fricking big moron bug it'll get a leg or it's butt and it will do virtually nothing.
I also fricking hate how the hitbox of the pods themselves also seems to be tiny.
MAKE IT BACK TO HOW IT WAS ON HELLDIVERS 1 damn it.
My big issue is having to try to account for what random direction the eagle is actually going to swing in from to drop it
can't you stick strat grenades?
I haven't tried to stick a big bomb to a bile titan so someone will need to test it
Also unrelated, apparently they rebalanced defence missions? Are they noticeably easier now? They were kinda nuts before, no pauses in waves was crazy

>how’s a stratagem that makes me stand still in order to kill things?
you know the answer to your question before you even asked it, anon
I feel like it could be good if it killed armored enemies. Although that also applies for pretty much everything in this game
it's better than anyone here will tell you, it does surprisingly good damage to heavy armor, but you 'll need some high ground and something to help keep aggro off you, either a sentry or some other lads running in first. spraying it on the troops being carried in by dropships make it pretty effective too.
Unusable in a chaotic situation but downright overpowered when you hold a long choke or have a vantage point overlooking an open area
Excellent against bugs, terrible against bots unless you have a choke on them where they can't really shoot at you without being in your sights. Better off just getting the autocannon sentry on that 50% extra ammo upgrade.
it doesn't pen heavy armor, so yea
TOWER LET'S GO!
>Play with randoms
>they autistically clear out every outpost and leave with a wopping 3 samples total
>Bump up the difficulty
>1-2 morons somehow die 20 times with 3 minutes
I mostly do that because teammates are too busy autistically farming infinite mob spawns from bug breaches or bot drops. I simply have nothing else to do and I refuse to stay and farm with them. Plus it's esay to clear fabricators that happen to be in the way while looking for super samples.
>robot extraction
>not one person with any arc
>clearing outposts
>not getting any samples
how?
surely people have come to realize the entire reward of outposts (aside from giving you zones of control to retreat into) is the samples in them, right?
who am i kidding, i quickplay into so many lobbies on 9 that still zerg the main objective and extract with 15 minutes on the clock but no samples
>play with random
>he shoots at literally every single enemy we pass and we're in a constant state of bug breach the entire mission
I have no fun unless we're in a constant state of action sorry
There's something to be said about being on the constant run, throwing every bombardment at your own feet just to make space as much as there is to be with Metal Gear Soliding entire outposts with multiple coordinated shooters sniping every bot at the same time.

Railgun to the face
The devs are too busy fixing the game but after they do i really hope they work on balance because shit's just way too skewed right now
>Literally no primary can compete with the autoshotgun, it's objectively the best weapon for every mission
>The personal shield is absurdly strong, almost tripling your survivability which means you should almost always bring it
>The Railgun is way more efficient at dealing with armored enemies than any other weapon, on top of not requiring a backpack and having enough ammo that you can use it to kill a lot of annoying medium armor enemies too, meaning its almost always the objectively right choice for higher difficulties
The game is just going to get stale if they don't fix these equipment being so overwhelmingly better than literally any of the other options
>no primary can compete with the autoshotgun
>The personal shield is absurdly strong, almost tripling your survivability which means you should almost always bring it
>can't even bring both in the same loadout because breaker eats through ammo and makes ammo backpack mandatory
yeah you have no idea what are you talking about
Maybe you should aim at the aliens so you don't waste your ammo.
Hold R my friend.
t.clueless morons who drag the team down and eat all supplies without contributing anything
the kind of shitters I hate the most
>I don't run out of ammo
>YOU'RE EATING SUPPLIES
Are you fricking moronic? Breaker doesn't need more than one of the refills. You're just bad at the game
>doesn't kill bugs
>always stuck behind
>calls supplies in the middle of nowhere
>y-y-you're bad at the game!
Pretending to be moronic isnt trolling, its just sad. Stop it.
You can just 1tap them with a railgun headshot
Hope to frick they go the other route and buff everything else. Nerfing the good shit to be in line with stuff that’s objectively worse is always immensely moronic for PvE games
>Hope to frick they go the other route and buff everything else.
Name a single game where this has happened. It never does.
they need to make the cool down for the jump boost a lot shorter. the first game was like every 2-3 seconds
in the first game you could also spam airstrikes in succession and explode screens with rumbler
not the first game
Posts like these are good reminders that most of Ganker sucks ass at video games.
Idk I keep deluding myself into thinking they're all above average
i miss her
>bald nigress cheering you on for no deaths on a mission
I wish I could kick her off my ship
For as much as the game is getting compared to mobile infantry from the Starship Troopers film, I think Helldivers are much closer to M.I from the book in function.
>Small element size
>Emphasis on maneuver warfare behind enemy lines
I think making a mech-suit version of the jump kit that has a near-zero cooldown would probably be the closest we’ll have gotten to seeing the M.I mech suits realized in anything besides the OVAs in the early 2000s.
Don’t know how well that’d mesh with the dev’s design philosophy for mecha though (but honestly frick the devs they came up with this dull railgun meta purely from their own armored enemy spam).
they had walking mech in first game. they need to put vehicles back in the game
i know they’ve showcased the heavy mech but i’m talking something more sleek and mobility focused. like a MJOLNIR suit, but for jump-jetting around the map.
vehicles will probably be a thing again and fill the maneuver warfare niche, i know, but i’m just spewing my wish fulfillment to play a book-version mobile infantryman
What? I've 100% seen Bile Titans coming out of the ground during a bug breach
yeah they do come out of breaches, of course
what I mean is you get spammed by heavies even when you prevent all bug breaches and bot drops. They come from thin air.
>They come from thin air.
I love this game but this in particular is pure bullshit
i've had it happen to me, with witnesses.
>oh boy matchmaking is back, finally i don't have to wait for a non-bait thread to play 7+
>first person that joins takes EAT, recoilless, and mines
i never knew how good i had it with Gankerirgins.
To clarify, I wasn’t calling you a liar, I meant the fact that it happens is bullshit. I’ve had it happen to me too and it’s lame as frick
EAT and recoilless are amazing for bot missions.
not together. waste of a slot.
EAT is the one-use launcher. they're both good, but bringing 2 support weapons that do the same thing is not ideal.
Uhoh. I love my recoiless. Which is the EAT? I don't use mines though
Fricking annoying.
more mission types and mission modifiers should help with that.
>charger infestation modifier
no thank you
What secondary are you guys using? I feel like the revolver is a bit too unwieldy since it only gets six shots and takes forever to reload, and the SMG just eats trough ammo too fast, so i'm actually just using the basic pistol. It works pretty well for shooting small enemies to conserve ammo
pro tip hold r and right click to flip the smg into semi-auto.
Just becomes a better basic pistol at that point.
auto pistol on semi
10 railgun shots to the head is all it takes
How to farm pink samples 101
You could even solo it if you wanted, going hunting for the pink samples and just waiting at extraction for the pelican to land when the timer runs out.
who gives a shit, i drop in and out of random lobbies and i already have more than enough to max out my ship
How do you drop samples?
I saw someone do it yesterday by accident.
Also can you drop backpacks?
Hold X.
>Armor is bugged and there's no reason to gimp yourself taking anything but light armor.
You will not get me out of my trench engineer armor. I dive in style and explode everything for you. You'll never even see a jellybean bug if I'm in the game.
>counterpoint
Youre a homosexual
So what Sentry/Emplacements are worth it? Gatling seems good but even with the 50% extra ammo seems to blow through it too fast to be as good as like any eagle. Mortars good if well placed and somehow you don't kill the team. The HMG emplacement seems good but also chew its ammo for what amounts to a fodder killer. Tesla seems eh.
autocannon, rocket, both mortars
gatling is only good if you are below 7
Stun-generator tossing one against bugs, always. It cannot teamkill and it locks down bug rushes for easy orbitals/killing as they stand still. Neutralizes Stalkers and Bile Spewers entirely. Fricking underused gem that trivializes 90% of encounters. Use it. Useituseituseit.
For bots the mortar: they spawn in clumps, like to keep far away and move slowly. Mortar gets free safe kills with minimal friendly fire.
these threads fell off hard. is it the servers being garbage?
My interest in the game is waning after seeing how incompetent the devs are and how boring the balance is
>boring balance
You almost figured out how to use words right little man
is this game any fun with randoms or do you pretty much need friends to have fun
NONE OF MY IRL FRIENDS PLAYED A SINGLE GAME OF HELLDIVERS 1 AND 2 WITH ME also EDF
>EATs you right in your fricking mouth
This game looks so cool. Pity about it needing to install a rootkit to play. Otherwise I would have bought it already.
straight up cancelled my preorder when i found out about it. how dumb do you have to be to need anticheat in a co op always online game.
it doesn't even work either lmao
COOL DOWN THE FRICKING JUMP BOOST HOLY SHIT
Anti-material rifle any good for someone below level 20?
Its pretty meh against bugs, but really good against bots since it two-shots devastators and hulks
Thanks, I didn't know that.
>two-shots devastators
so like SMG
>and hulks
I call bullshit
I'm willing to believe him if it's two headshots specifically
You have to hit the eye twice, yes. But it does kill them.

homie, are you on diff4? It takes almost a full mag diff6+ lmao

I paint which is cooler than drawing and that's why I understand that coomers are low effort slopslingers
If you don't paint breasts then nobody gives a shit.
>coomers needing to immediately jerk off to everything possible

Was Helldivers 1 that popular?
I really like that game but I don't remember so many Threads about it.
How does HD2 compare to it?
I saw that the Illuminate aren't even in the game yet.
>lust provoking image
>relevant question
?
The eagle strats changes are way cool though.
Images help to draw attention!
Yeah I was holding off my purchase to wait for kore content and stability. Where does it play in the story? Is there still this meta game of the galactic war with conquering sectors with the community?
And how are the continuous beam weapons? Loved those in HD1 and made meme loadouts where I had the big shoulder fired beam and the normal beam rifle.
dunno man I don't have it. It hard crashes on my hardware cause their moronic anticheat hates amd hardware
There's still the meta game.
Laser cannon and scythe are in I think but not very good
To be fair, there's still lots of planets we haven't seen yet, the GMs and the galactic war restrict our access
Yeah but like, hd1 on release had multiple vehicles and a third faction. Are there even 4 planet types in hd2? (snow forest desert volcanic)?
HD2 has snow, desert, jungle, and grassy.
They all look the fricking same. Game's way too desaturated and mexicotone
Wheres destroyed mega city map?
Also these planets with houses on them need some roads, it makes no sense they are spread out so far, have vehicles scattered everywhere with tires but no one decided to pave or make a dirt road toward the little green houses around. How do they find that shit on the snow planets?
one of the fresh bug planets was volcanic looking that I saw, beside that we've seen-
>rocky hills
>lush jungle
>arid desert
>snowy tundra
>temperate plains
which can be palette swapped and have
>rain, fog, dust storms, blizzards that reduce visibility, rain & fog can combine
>heat that fricks up your stamina & raises energy weapon heat rate
>cold that lowers energy weapon heat rate
might be forgetting a planetary condition, I think there were also lightning storms which could strike you or enemies.
HD2 also has a day/night cycle along with things like eclipses
That's pretty cool. It all looks frickin desaturated to me.
Turn up your monitor's saturation?
I picked it up about a year ago and even then it was dwindling hard but if you like co-op games it's great. HD2 is great. Same concept, different way to play it.
>The eagle strats changes are way cool though.
Of all the images on your pc, you used that one
Man this game is exhilarating. Being pushed by 3 tanks while dropship after dropship delivers endless armies of robots who light up the night with non-stop laser fire and then nearly being blown away by artillery and you TRY to call an airstrike but you CAN'T because the course of your retreat has taken you directly to a jammer so you hole up on the pillboxes there with your boys and hold off the tide desperately while one teammate shuts it off
Frickin good ass shit I tell you
Someone give me a quick rundown on this game, I don't understand.
>horde shooter
>steals starship trooper's themes and aesthetics
>you play it for 2 hours and you'd have seen everything there is to do
>astroturfed to hell and back
>servers still don't work but people are fine with it because the devs are an """indie studio""" that dindu nuffin
the game is fun but it's not the second coming of jesus in vidya format, it's an okay shooter carried by the fact you can play it with friends, which can make playing anything more fun that it really is
If that was all it was then Payday 3 would have been a massive success too. This game is special, you're just delusional.
except payday was already dying before the new game was made. no one asked for or wanted a sequel, and when it released with a shit ton of problems that was it.
the game isn't special at all, it's going through its hayday because it's le fun with friends and i guess it has a pretty memeable setting that Black folk got hooked on. that and the fact that every streamer is promoting the game by making videos of them screaming while shooty shooty. big deal. it's fomo + fotm
Payday 2 was dying because literally everyone wanted a sequel, meanwhile the game was on like third rerun of "parent company fricked up again and we have to release more DLC" this time with even lazier cash grabs, for payday 2 complete (1) for realsiest this time final v2
>muh astroturf
Is it really impossible for Ganker to accept that some games are actually fun?
target-rich environments and the tools which with to dispose of them
dying to explosions or unavoidable situations is funny, and barely an inconvenience since even a party wipe just auto-respawns the squad
>Difficulty 5-6 solo
>Mission going perfectly wiping out outposts and collecting some samples
>Come across two hulks or two chargers
>Game just keeps spamming me with patrols and then bug breaches or bot drops
>Go from 5 lives to fricking 0 because I've been fighting in the same zone for 10 fricking minutes
>Constantly in a sea of rockets or the sky is full of fricking hunters jumping across the planet to slow debuff me
>Maybe I finally get my samples back and my support items or maybe I make a break for the evac

Is this a good first "multiplayer game"?
Is "FoTM" Ganker's new buzzword?
Has been for about a year. Any time a game is good, it's fotm.
>new
the only thing new here is you
I realize it's because third worlders are resentful toward multiplayer games, since they can't afford anything and would have to play with other South Americans even if they could.
It's kids with no money complaining that there's too many games they want to play coming out too quickly because they're used to the modern game cycle of one interesting game releasing every 5 years, whereas 10+ years ago it was completely normal for like 10 good games to release in the same month
>10+ years ago it was completely normal for like 10 good games to release in the same month
Now we are lucky if 1 good game releases a year
Yes. homosexuals keep parroting this reddit-tier meme thinking it's insulting for games to be played for a couple of weeks before moving on.

The game is finally fricking working holy shit.
You b***hes werent kidding that the spray and pray is shit tier.
How has Malevelon Creek still not been taken?

THE DEVS ARE FRICKING HACKS
It's ass backwards that it's only on the easiest difficulty, you'd think expending mass resources and manpower for a completely symbolic action would be Super Earth's motto.
you haven't done the Raise the Super Earth Flag objective? it forces you to sit around while a camera drone watches a call-in flag raises over the course of a painful minute while upraising patriotic music plays for a propaganda reel
well that explains why I hardly ever see it if it's only available on Trivial POI farms
>tfw can't carry a flag as a weapon when you run out of ammo
Am I remembering wrong or was there an actual flag you could carry in the tutorial? I haven't seen a mission like that.
>just unlocked lvl 8 difficulty at lvl 8
can kill and survive just fine and "pull my weight" despite not having access to most stuff but Ill be honest I still dont have a clue on how to properly clear out a map.

Post predictions for the roadmap. Apparently devs had to revamp it after the player count exploded.
Mechs in a month. Bullshit "surprise" attacks and inexplicable fronts advancing because the mass amount of players winning the war would be boring. Luminates in 6 months after lots of teasing to revitalize money with new warbond too.
PLEASE DEVS LET ME DROP IN WITH MY MECH AND LET ME NAME HIM TOO
>Bullshit "surprise" attacks and inexplicable fronts advancing because the mass amount of players winning the war would be boring
Start using your aereal bombardment waifu you fricking donkeys.
Cluster bombs have 4 uses before reload and leave chargers dead if not damaged enough to finish them off easily.
mechs next month, new enemies & weapons over the course of the year, illuminate faction added towards fall/holiday

It's just me at the moment. How do I share my lobby?
Yes, because you have to get past the servers being a molten puddle. Unplayable game.

There's so many things they could've added but instead they just made it so you can get yet another new worthless explosion that's probably gonna kill your team and miss the enemies completely even though you put the market right on top of them
because everyone is praising this slop as undisputed GOTY material so the devs have no reason to try

scrambled codes modifier
check what's in your hand before you throw it
Ah, gotcha. Haven't encountered that yet I assume that's in the harder difficulties.
How do you have five stratagems?
global modifier during launch gave everyone free railguns for a while
Ah, that sucks. I thought I had something to actually look forward to
Modifiers can grant strategems to all players.
I broke this down like a USCSB incident briefing. The following could have prevented this, in order.
>Reading the missions operation modifiers and becoming aware stratagems were scrambled
>Making sure the rest of the team was aware stratagems were scrambled
>Noticing the stratagem ball in their hand was red
>Noticing the stratagems pillars of light were red
>Hearing "Calling in Eagle" or "Calling in orbital" over the radio
That last one is impossible for these console players however because they never hear shit.
My buddy restarted his game saying it's a buggy mess when this happened to him.
>Decreases damage to limbs
But why? I've only been winged a whole once.
You mean the suit or the booster?
The booster also negates bleed.
>Tfw killed a bile titan by dropping the expendable anti-tank stratagem on his ass.
>Teammates don't high five me.
We were yackity saxing around a titan and a couple chargers. One of us was dropping in, hit and killed the titan and we all saw it. I gave him a hug.
>die
>teammate throws the reinforcement stratagem 3 miles away from the bile titan
The game is giving us all a free damage option from my frickup and they throw it the frick away.
Post more bug sex
Someone give me the facts on where I can shoot certain enemies. Can I damage bile titans with normal guns once I've blown the green slime stomachs? Can I damage tanks with a gun?
On the back od the tank turrets there are glowing vents. That's your weak point.
Bile titans are impermeable to almost anything but explosives, fire, anti-tank rounds and the railgun.
So far I've finished them off after air strikes with the grenade launcher, flamethrower and the railgun a couple times to the face.
Railgun, as always, offers the best damage.
Flamethrower is very slow but I'm sure constant fire from 4 players should account to something.
>hehe shoot le thrusters to destroy drop pod XDDD i so smart

Just fought our first one today. Just unlocked level 6 difficulty and we're finding the increase of challenge pretty damn fun.
>Mission rolls satellite sub-objective

I think this game is giving me a headache. I just adjusted FOV to 72. Usually games with shitty blur/DOF frick me up, but Ive disabled all that stuff.
Any ideas?
>that one teammate who leaves the group
That's me. I got samples to collect.
How would you improve the shitty stratagems? I for one don't like the contrivance behind some of them becoming totally useless when newer, better ones, are unlocked. It's bad game design to have a bunch of shit you devoted dev time to going straight into the trash for the sake of using the objectively best loadouts.
Simple inputs get you basic but fast strategems (early game ones). These get extended into the complex but powerful strategems.
No one likes a minmaxer. Just grab your faves and dive.
No one likes the guy on the drop team who picked worthless garbage either.
I've completed a hundred dives on Helldiver difficulty. I've unlocked every stratagem. I'll take what's fun you little menace
Your personal accolades are anecdotal and not an argument.
anon stop being a triple Black person, if you have the hands you can make most things work. The game is in a good enough state to do so.
I'd like for the gas stratagems to get a no-FF upgrade, pay samples for working mask filters so it can be an ersatz smoke that also kills
Give the riot shield some small supply economy, give the turrets, grenades and emplacements ammo loadouts.
Loadout synergy buffs could be fun, like using acid smoke causes a debuff on anything in it for the sake of your other stratagems, or turrets being more effective as some sort of targeting buff, the more turrets there are and so on.

i wish we had 2 more stratagem slots or support weapons and backpacks got changed somehow
everyone uses the Breaker while I'm just over here vibin'
pairs nice with the shield
>can't use any primary besides the penetrator because of the armor enemy spam
>penetrator somehow has the least satisfying burst fire of any gun i've ever used
I honestly just miss the default rifle.
The theory going around is that the mission was bugged in the sense that it's stated to be a 40 minute mission, but the in game timer is only 15, which was causing some weird scaling issues, but it's not a confirmed theory, haven't tried it in the new patch, not sure if they fixed that timer issue
Are you some kind of coward? use the breaker, aim for the head.

The Liberation of Malevelon Creek has been halved in 24 hours
It’s so fricking over
Kek I see that pic has been upgraded with overwhelming bot tracer fire.
why does nobody use smoke vs the bots?
It's insanely good
Smoke grenades are a late unlock and smoke strategems are wasteful when you need explosions for the big guys
This might be a dumb question, but do smoke grenades destroy bug holes and fabricators or just confuse and annoy their occupants?
The smoke grenades erode the bug moral by giving them cute little coughs, an effective strategy for the good of controlled democracy.
>clusterbomb to center of formation just pisses automotons off more
So are the bot faction still cyborgs like 1 or did they become fully machine like the IFV
I think it’s almost full machine? I know Hulk Busters are for sure bots

Yes exactly, you never know where your teams loyalties really lie. You could get shot in the back at any moment anon.
not if I frag them first
A traitor legion could be cool but frick having randos be flagged as traitors that just sounds like Super Aids.
Traitors in out midst should only be used for in game propaganda feels
I'd rather get something like an eldritch horror/flesh monster faction like necromorphs or something
Ultra Earth is sending its forces of Managed Fascism to liberate Super Earth
Actually not a half-bad idea? In the CthulhuTech trainwreck-TTRPG-that-initially-had-some-good-ideas extraterrestrial Mi-Go Black folk fabricated the Nazzadi, a whole semi-human race, from scratch to wage war against humanity:
https://villains.fandom.com/wiki/Mi-go#CthulhuTech_Migou
>putting some alterations into human DNA taken from people they'd beamed up and kidnapped; essentially churning out millions of space elves in clone factories
>making up a whole culture for them where ~~*humans*~~ had always been the evil oppressors trying to eradicate glorious Nazzadi empire
>equipping their cannon fodder slaves with Mi-Go sci-fi tech and Macross mechs,
The Mi-Go used the Nazzadi as a proxy army while hiding their presence in the solar system and it worked pretty well for 5-10 years iirc, until high-ranking Nazzadi defectors jumped ship and gave away the Mi-Go gameplan of subjugating both humanity and the Nazzadi to basically use as a food source.
Neat, sounds somewhat like the Dead Earth judges of death?
>We have reviewed your polling numbers for the last elections and they clearly show your ENTIRE populace aren't ALL using their god given right to vote, therefore we have deemed that this planet is a threat to democracy as a whole.
>The worldwide invasion (cluster bombs) will start in thirty seconds, good day and god bless democracy.
Knock it off before the devs consider this out of popular opinion.
I'll turn you around on the idea, watch, Ultra Earth forces have helmets that look like they have evil goatees instead of capes.
>evil goatees instead of capes
You have my attention.
>dive in to mission
>immediately chased by orbital laser
>run away towards a minefield
>"enemy eagle approaching"
Would only be cool if the traitor faction was a third objective force that wanted to wipe loyal Helldivers AND the bugs or borgs on the map.
But that doesnt make sense since it comes from your ship. They would be fighting in space and shooting traitor ships down
Helldiver ships against each other would be pretty cool to see.
Said faction are the Automatons. Didn't you read the lore?
All I need to know is that our enemies are evil, hate us, and want us dead.
Still the automatons
They need the cyborgs back, the undemocratic horror of facing humans that have been borged is missing unlike the first game
Who is D and why did he still that cache?
And so do I
I
I
Anyone else get lower frames when in a squad vs being solo?
>tuned defend civilian escort mission
So is this admitting the "we're supposed to lose" wasn't actually real for the narrative? They really did just overtune the difficulty across the mission? How easy are they now?
They've "tuned" it twice and it still fricking sucks unless you're in a 4-man premade. At least that's how it is on 6 and higher.
How's the playerbase of HD2 ando's, idiots? jerks? dedicated assist reload gods?
Entire thread is the reason nobody care about this website, literally the most brain dead dog shit ideas ive ever seen
kill youself immediatly
Well, I'm waiting?
Dedicated supplybawd here, I just like being helpful but I use hunting horn in Monster Hunter too, I don't know if that matters.
well-meaning morons, but they blend into lower difficulties fine, like any co-op game.
Turn off crossplay and average IQ increases noticeably. You are on PC, right?
Why can't I pick which NPCs are on my ship and get bonuses for them
It's just EDF with a bigger budget anon, no need to think about it like the game is out to get you or attack you personally with mediocrity.
But EDF has better shit than this
The game needs to pull some stuff from EDF, like bug nest invasions and mechs.
>Toss grenade into a big bug nest
>Mission objective is to then jump into the hole to find and kill the queen bug
Possibly tight space pants shitting kino
imagine if they made collaborations with shit like aliens or if a planet got overrun by literal zombies and it turned out to be a left 4 dead collab
Only lame ass PS collabs are allowed, like Horizon.
well sony owns bungie, they could have the alien races of destiny be in an actual good game ;^*~~*~~
Yes I'm sure the Helldivers audience wants to deal with Taken homosexualry. GTFO
EDF feels like driving a go-kart, this game feels like driving an offroad pick-up.
Its the little things
It feels like Early Access. The beta ran until a week before release and it clearly needs a month longer in the oven.
you're braindead.
Keep encouraging laziness moron
is recoiless still good
What's a good heavy weapons/squad hoser loadout? Still in the early game so my loadout is
>MG
>EAT
>Eagle Strike
>Gatling Sentry
>Defender and Redeemer
Basically if there's a group of enemies I want to hose them. The AT is just I can blow up the chicken walkers and shit.
steam://joinlobby/553850/109775240948982983/76561197973939165

Come do your duty
Extra rations for that Helldiver.
>console
>the bad ending
It's like shaving Ryan's privates, with explosive results.
I never get tired of these. Post more.
troon
beautiful
>wake up
>try matchmaking
>it just werks
holy based
>it just werks
no it doesn't, it stays on "searching for active SOS beacon" then swaps to "Establishing ship u-link" or w/e then back to searching for active SOS beacon
shit's still busted
Game fixed yet ?
Bought last night when it was at 450k players and got in fine and randoms even joined my game. So yeah i think so
Thanks
yup 100% armor effect are up and running and the napalm strike isn't bugged at all. I've been jumping in and out of games all day.
If you have a problem is must be on your end.
Which is better between the Expendable Anti-Tank, Recoilless Rifle and Autocannon?
Also I'm level 12 only and need to grind out XP and Samples, any solutions for that?
Recoilless, especially if you have a friend to reload you.
It's still usable solo though.
recoilless good if you play with a friend, the reload is insanely slow alone
EAT is pretty good for desperate situations, 1m cooldown and 2 charges
AC is overall great, can't pen HEAVY armor, but deals massive damage to weakspots, reload is great even if solo
For samples, just do the normal missions and comb the map and extract, Google the purple supersamples when you hit difficulty 7, they are special and found all together at one location instead of being scattered all over the map
there are 10-ish normal samples on the same fixed positions on eradicate forces missions so you do 1 mission, learn the locations and you can walk away from that mission every time with less than a minute of work so it's good for farming those pesky little normals
i'll always laugh at railgun users when they see a dropship and can't bring it down
Nice throw.
Nice shot
lol did it ever come back?
Nope, but it was only gone for me, so the other two were able to get onto it.
Eventually
is buying the game on monday too late?
will it be dead by then?
Let me know when I can actually play the fricking game.
I love those goofballs when they're not on me
Time to clear up a small misconception.
I love Autocannon so much bros
>can snipe from far away
>when in a pinch, spam away and hope you kill what's coming for you
>can enable FULL AUTO
I love this fricking gun, there's nothing better than backdiving and delivering 3 accurate shots to Hulk's visors and making them blow up
the clips where people do team reload on autocannon one while fending off a massive attack look so cool
you mean assisted reload
Yeah I love the sounds, the big ass casings ejecting from the gun, overall very punchy weapon, BUT it is inferior to the rail gun
I like the orange armor set.
I'm green with envy
Weak without glowing orange chainsaw melee weapons
What loadout do I have to bring solely to kill chargers, overturned broken ass enemy type that will definitely get nerfed one day alhamdulilah, why's a low tier boss more difficult than the higher level titans
2x railgun shots blows the leg armour off, then just dump half a mag into the exposed leg to kill it.
They're trivial once you've got it worked out.
.
Big ups, Super Earth!
If you're loading a SEAF artillery choose YELLOW SHELLS over RED.
EVERYTIME
NAPALM SUCKS
But red means boom.
I'd rather have napalm over smoke any day, and smoke is the main yellow I see even though mininukes exist
All you get is voices and larger/smaller body sizes
yellow is sometimes Smoke instead of the coveted Mini-Nuke
Chinese and japanese players will never let you down and fight to the end, everyone else leaves after they feed and have to wait to respawn
Surprised China didn't ban the shit out of this game. A parody it may be but all press is bad press when it comes to western values over there.
Im amazed this appeared out of nowhere and has all this live play and hype. Gives me hope and demonstrates the power of gamers to get behind something.
should i spend 40 bucks on this flavor of the month game?
No, servers are full, git out.
we keep losing campaigns on the automaton front
If I wake up in 8 hours and Draupnir isn't at least at 85% I will call orbital bombardments down on the greenhorns.
Players are lazy shits and bugs are easier to deal with. Either that or the playerbase are all secretly robosexual and want the bots to win.
I enjoy the fantasy of killing hordes of bugs rather than robots but I think once I'm lvl 20 I'm done with bugs because a couple of the enemy types are too annoying to deal with
The bots simply need more and cooler unit types.
Did they fix the unwinnable "rescue personel" mission where there's 1 bot drop every 5 seconds?
I did my time on Ubanae
I'll do it again
Vehicles when?
How much do you need to unlock in this game?
>stratagems
there's like 40 something and will unlock the fastest with regular money(apparently some kind of ship customization is coming out next month which will probably use regular money as a dump too)
>ship modules
15 of them i think, most common and needed resource for them is easy to farm
>battlepasses
will vary in size, uses medals as the currency and will by far take the longest to complete
can i make a strong muscle mommy character or is it just dudes?
>No nuclear power armor and gorilla women to properly parody Starship Troopers
Doesn't feel very democratic to me.
If you aren’t using the low detection range ultralight armor on difficulty 9 you’re basically griefing. Sorry but it’s true.
Those fricking bots are moving slowly to the Valdis system!
>malevelon creek at 9%
It's over..
>that disparity
What the FRICK is going on over there?
Welp Ubanea is done for, should I keep pushing on draupnir or help get a jump start on Vandalon IV?
Get your ass to Draupnir
I hope everyone that has been playing Malevolon Creek fricking dies
does it work yet?
>inb4 I got in, so it works
I mean can you start the game and get in without waiting like a fricking rollercoaster ride
Why does the commander near the mission table sound like Dollar Tree Lance Reddick?
Sometimes i can hear the running with rifles theme playing in my head while a mission is ongoing
Come to Draupnir RIGHT NOW
Devs need to buff more weapons to make them viable or at least offer upgrades because there's really no reason to use most weapons at the hardest difficulties due to how inefficient they are.
>yfw you 1 shot a hulk with a railgun
Been there, done that.
At one point it felt like I was on a firing range, shooting 3 hulks in a row in less than a minute.
I'm coming Draupnir anons
NEED TO DELIVER SAMPLES AIEEEEEEE
me and the boys
>mfw when the bots reach critical mass and aimpunch stunlock you before you can make your noodle arms aim at anything after peeking out
non shield user issue
why do assault raiders explode sometimes
the power thing on their back explodes if you shoot it iirc
its kind of crazy how little rewards you get for clearing nests, almost like they incentivise you to do the actual objectives
>finally manage to join a game with randos last night
>everyone's quiet as the grave the whole time
>people dying left and right, nobody managed to collaborate or strategize
>after 30 minutes of bullshit, the objectives are completed
>head to the extraction point to finally end this shitshow
>bunch of soibeards start peaking their shitty headsets, going "NO NO NO DON'T END WE HAVE TO CLEAR ALL THE HIVES UNNNNNH"
God forbid you just end this shitshow and progress onto another mission. Fricking completionist autists.
They might be shit but that's how you play the game. If you want quick runs host yourself.
tell them that you only get slightly more exp and req, both of which are useless in the long run compared to getting more medals and samples out. that said, rare samples (the biggest grind besides medals lategame) spawn next to hives on higher diffs, so you should clear them out if only to get all the samples on the map. extracting is ONLY for getting samples out, because you don't really lose a lot just by dying after you complete the main objectives
not at level 50. i wish i knew early on that getting samples/medals was all that really matters.
It seems even.
>yes lets please miss out on getting max moneys and xp because i can't stand silence
Turn on some music, you fricking sperg
>lvl 7 launch missile silo
>shitshow since minute one, bots everywhere
>manage to destroy two big compounds, artillery, secondary objective
>level 10 pink homosexual just strays from the group and beelines toward the silo
>we don't even have the two launch codes
>me and two other guys keep going, shooting bots, manage to secure both launch codes
>pink homosexual has been crouching AFK in a bush 100m from the launch site for 10 minutes now
>we arrive at silo
>"good job pink"
>kick him out 20 minutes into the mission
I don't need deadweight carry me at DIFFICULTY 7
YOUR SYSTEM IS COMPROMISED
YOUR SYSTEM IS COMPROMISED
Tell me more.
Rootkit permissions and PS account permissions will allow Sony a certain amount of data access.
How much nobody knows.
Rootkit operates on ring 0 access to your PC. So it can access all data, including hardware level (make changes on OC etc). It access everything (current and cache memory) on your PC without your permission.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/NProtect_GameGuard
It has full access to your PC as stated in wiki.
fricking hell. is there any plans to change this in the future or are they sticking with it?
I uninstalled this thing before I refunded it
What does that mean for a proton user?
Also your chip manufacturer already has backdoors at that level.
>finally able to get into games
>level 10, just unlocked autocannon. feeling like hot shit at difficulty 5 to people around my level
>join a random game with level 40+ dudes
>complete a mission, they bump up to level 7
>then 8
>basically just a sample and respawn mule, running around and barely staying alive as I autocanon snipe what I can
Goddam this game is fun
I don't know what those personal shielded bros are doing making bases explode but man I'm cheering them on and drawing an entire direction's worth of bots attention while they do it.
>squad got the last point to 100% liberate planet
Feels good man
I hope they add alphabet flag capes to the game
so I can kick people who use them from my lobbies
Well lads, just unlocked the last eagle upgrade.
Happy to anounce I no longer hate the 500 kg bomb because I got 2 of them and I no longer have to use the shitty cluster bombs because I get 3 air strikes.
Reminder to kick braindead morons just before they enter the ship, so they get booted out of the game with no rewards and possibly even crash and have to wait in queue again, its what you deserve for not doing anything you fricking homosexuals
