The second charger only spawns on objectives at the start, theyre like a guardian or someshit
I think theyre a bit more tankier from looking at their armor, i tried killing them using the vulnerable animation bug and it took longer than a normal charger
Remember if you have the scorcher (Last weapon in the freebattlepass that is like 100 medals to unlock) you can kill heavy devastators and the atst/copyright infringement without needing to aim/flank.

it can work but is outdated and unneededly hard.
The map is very big. Have the majority of the group, or at least half, draw the bots away. They will stop spawning at the point. One person can loop around and as long as they aren't fighting, can open the doors on their own without any bots spawning on them while the rest hold the line elsewhere.
i have tried this in the past, unable to get the bots to stop spawning at the point, and sometimes patrols patrol right on in. is there a consistent way to get this started?
also this definitely feels like cheesing, i have to be honest, which is why i wonder if it's harder than they intended. especially since they supposedly keep nerfing it
With the map as big as it is, I'm not sure it's cheesing. Else it'd be small like the eradication missions, I think it may be on purpose.
you have to make sure the bots FOLLOW you off, not just have everyone run, else they'll hang around a good while before despawning. You need to be careful of the patrols. Some need to be killed, others you let pass.You just need to prioritize killing them fast enough before the can start bot drops on you. IMO it works best with everyone waiting for a bot drop then slowly falling back. Then one person (me, in my case) flanks very far and hooks around to the obj. Pick off any stragglers as quick/quiet as possible and play stealth from there on. You'd be surprised just how close patrols can get to you without alerting if they don't have direct line of sight.
I'm not, anon. I never did. I don't know why I'm ending up in lobbies where people are trying to farm samples or trying to play eradication missions over and over to power level (which is so gay to do in a game like this).
All I did was play a good amount, and like I did helldivers 1, and I've gotten plenty. I've bought 3 or 4 full sets of armor from the super store and still would have almost enough for the premium warbond right now (which I have already because I shilled out for super citizen)

110 hours with idling, just got my last upgrade a couple missions ago. if you find a group of non-shitters it's not hard to get 30+ greens per map on bug worlds, hives and spore whatevers are rife with them.
bring two recoilless rifles and have them support each other and shoot down any dropships before they drop their load
will massively reduce enemy presence and you should be able to get almost all if not all NPCs into the shelter before the patrol and dropship spawning becomes so much that you can't keep up
so what? infinite ammo amounts to nothing when it can't kill anything other than babies and skinnies, not to mention diligence and breaker do NOT have ammo issues at all
most guns are currently there to look cool while you hold a better support gun or better yet spend the entire game running to the next objective. shooting things is a last resort to give you time to throw something like a grenade or a beacon for the nerds in orbit to shoot stuff for you.
The Scythe can actually kill devastators incredibly quickly if you keep the laser on their head. Problem is it requires consistent aiming and staying exposed, which isn't always an option when rockets are flying everywhere.
devastators go down quicker if you laser their crotches, minus shield boys of course. but it's not anything compared to how quickly the diligence would accomplish the same at range, or the breaker close-up
more ammo and a proper scope beg to disagree. I keep getting kicked for bringing the AMR even though it can kill everything the railgun can at a longer range.

The railgun also does excellently dead-on against hulks as they have the weakpoint in their eye. A 90% charged railgun shot does substantial damage that can easily be way worth using over wasting a call in and risking it being on cooldown.

I still don't like that it's online only. I know the chances of them killing the servers some time in the future is probably slim but it still weighs on my mind. Watching ubisoft kill off so many games online components and games like Bad company 2 shutting servers down makes me pessimistic about the future of online only shit.

I exclusively run the Scorcher on Helldive bot missions because it offers too much utility. Ammo isn't a problem if you're smart about it and don't get stuck endlessly fighting new dropship spawns.
If you like the Punisher, try the Slugger. You'll still suffer from the ammo issue, but at least it's dealing good damage

I'm starting to get bored. The constant nonstop heavily armored enemies I can barely fight against unless I use a railgun or a red strat are killing my enjoyment.
I loved it in the first game, now in this one I feel like I'm the only person who uses it. But it's incredible fun to drop dropships like flies and be able to leg multiple chargers for the team. I spent the 10k on the spear hoping it would be better than it or the EATs but its worse???

multiplayer objective control death match between 2 teams. Players drop in anywhere on the map their desire since they are orbital shot into the battle field ala helldivers style. However the enemy team can contest and control bases which will activate the AA-turrets and blow you out of the sky or use resources to call in AA stratagems to do the same. Which also can be show down by AA. Everyone is in a mech suit that can benefit from an abundance of shield, which recharge but are weaker, armor which has more soak potential but needs downtime to repair, stealth to avoid being targeted or displaying your current build, or a balance because adapt or die. You can run for 4 seconds before the kenetic overdrive system takes you from 15 miles per hour to 90 and you jump jets can help you clear kilometers of distance and elevation as your build dictates. Vehicles, heavy armor, mechs, fast scout bikes, anto personal turrets, anti vehicles turrets, anti air as described before. All of this in a fast violent explosive online match setting against 8 other rat bastards and all the over the top game fluff of Helldivers and Super Earth.

FRICK SCRAMBLING HOLY SHIT. No way is it random, you put in a sentry ten times and it gives you airstrikes every time, try reverse psychology and put in an airstrike, and you get the same or a different strike almost guaranteed.
I love the revolver. I can't hit anything with the first person sights but I can usually pop devastators in two shots when I crouch with third person aim. Auto pistol is prolly still best for bugs.
Stratagem synergies would be a good idea. It would allow the lesser used ones to have a purpose. Like Acid smoke being flammable so if someone also used napalm in the same contact zone it would massively boost destructive potential. Or turrets getting faster firing rate and better accuracy the more of them are in the same kill radius.

levels past 20 dont matter, requisition is not scarce since only a few strategems are any good, medals are also not that important since all the good stuff is found early in the unlocks.

The RR is borderline pointless because while yes, it is powerful, it also has a long fricking reload time and on high difficulties dropping 1 ship that may or may not kill some of its passangers doesn't fricking matter when there are 4-5 more coming in the same moment and by the time you reload they'll all be gone.

I know the armour ratings probably won't make a substantial difference to survivability, but I can't wait for the devs to unfrick them just so I can actually wear some of the damn sets without it being an objective downgrade
if someone brings the increased stamina booster it makes heavy much more survivable. I love muh heavy armor but don't like making the runs across the map taking 20 mins when it becomes time to search for medals/credits. Vehicles will solve that, ppl are hype about the mechs but I also hope we get the two seat motorcycle that one was my fav.
idk about motorcycle, maybe in a while after a few updates. the NotWarthog that you see burned out around maps will definitely be coming back first. same way the burned out mechs are a tease for that first content drop

I loved the vehicles from HD1 but I do think we're now at a stage where people are going to be in an uproar and say that Mechs ruined the game unless they are limited to harder difficulty modes or certain maps.
In Helldivers 1 heavy armour made you damn near immune to attacks from the basic trash enemies, so it might end up being pretty tough. I think the movement penalty was more severe in the first game though.

GL is great for deleting the walkers and the hordes of units dropped by dropships. Grab a resupply pack and be the hero that destroys all the bot spawners from a hundred meters away.
You will need help with Bile Titans, Chargers, Hulks, and Tanks. It fricks absolutely everything else up, even armored targets, because its blast damage can hit the squishy bits behind the armor. This is also true of the Scorcher and Dominator btw

Considering you only need to complete 1 chain of missions per difficulty it's possible to get a guy from diff 1 to helldive in a day or two. We unlocked level 6~8 with a level 7 guy that ended up at level 12 by the end.
Anyone have tips where the frick to aim with the arc thrower for the bot walkers? It seems super random on how it either takes one shot or a million hits to kill them aiming for their visor. Also it doesnt let you kill the pilot from the sides, the arc seems to just hit the walker instead and fizzle out

Bots are unironically easier if people just don't run around randomly like morons. They're way easier to retreat from since a lot of them use range, so if the going gets tough you can just retreat and come back. They're also way easier to kill via rail gun than the bugs since all of them die to a headshot, and the tank is easier to 500kg than a bile titan since it holds still way more.

It's shit, railgun is just too OP by comparison.
Very high chance it's overtuned or just outright glitches. Lower diffs are manageable because at most will see a single hulk and it usually trundles in as a patrol.
Do the distraction strat, halfway through they will just start dropping bots at the objective so the person escorting just runs to the distractors to reset it.
Genuinely wish we could switch between 3rd and 1st permanently. Not just when aiming. Kind of like how PUBG lets you. Just a button switch between the two.
yeah the problem with the shotgun is its damage falls off. i can see why people like it if you are being rushed by berserkers or something it can obliterate them but thats also what the automatic pistol is for and i rarely use it otherwise. Magdumping the shotgun into devastators at range can work but if you have the railgun you dont need. The defender is the optimal weapon for rapidly killing lots of regular bots at range, it can wipe a whole dropship worth in one magazine and it also makes it more likley you have something to shoot commisars when you notice them as dealing with these things at range with the shotgun means you could be mid reload more frequently due to the nature of shotgun requiring you to basically three tap things at range because sometimes two doesnt cut it. Its basically the same for defender with a bigger magazine size
railgun, defender, whatever the auto pistol is with eagle airstrike, shield backpack, and orbital laser. Thats my loadout.

Is there a way to turn off the femoid voices? Without having to randomly hear a completely out of place woman voice in the middle of my terminator vietnam game it would have no hint of the stink of modern idpol game design.

Yeah sometimes I've almost died because I've out my weapon away somehow after map interaction or strat interaction and been mauled by bugs I couldn't fire at until weapon switching.
you can rapidly farm supercredits by doing level 1 missions, you can check all POIs in like 5 minutes and are likley to find an average of about 30 per run
yes level 1 missions you just drop in with whatever and run in a circle checking all the POIs then escape out back to the ship taking whatever medals (usually around 3 or so) and supercredits you found with you.
If for some reason you want to farm green samples you need to wait on the 2 minute extraction timer though.
Bring light armor so you can sprint longer, deploy in one part of the map then just go clockwise or counterclockwise, level 1 maps are so small you can just run from POI to POI with out fuss, put on an audiobook or something
this is honestly probably the best way to farm medals too
the medals you find laying around in POI can be anywhere from +1 to +3 medals so you can leave some missions with like 5 medals with out even extracting. you can easily get 350 supercredits and 35 medals per hour doing this

high difficulties OR you do the bot defense evac missions on high difficulties and just don't do the objective. Circle the map(smaller on defense missions so everything is close together and in a near-perfect ring around the objective) and grab all the POI's( with a friend to get the double doors) then just catch the emergency shuttle at the end to evac with your samples.

it comes with two parts, the weapon and the backpack. if you want to use it by yourself, you need to equip both, thus sacrificing your backpack slot and making your reload way slower. if another player picks up the backpack they can reload for you and it is lightning fast, but the downside is if they aren't available and nearby you literally cannot reload.
To circumvent this my buddy and I just both pack autocannons and rotate shoot/reload duties. So far, we've been an absolute force to be reckoned with, especially when the one shooting is on a roll with pinpoint accurate weakpoint hits. I really hope they add an alternative to the recoilless rifle that has high-explosive rounds but low armor pen.

That's basically the grenade launcher. It'll happily delete a massive crowd of light enemies with a few trigger pulls.

Flamer armor has cool 90's style democratic flame decals, arc thrower armor has cool ass lightning decals and electrical warnings. Acid grenade armor has biohazard shit and so on.

have him run at you and then run/dodge out the way
turn around and look at charger, he will do an animation where he stops and skids on the ground
during this animation shoot the back of the legs (you can start firing a bit early and see the armor ping icons) with your primary
you will see you are doing damage
depending on your weapon and accuracy you can kill him in one go or in two
no idea if its a bug, but yeah, primary fire during that animation fricks chargers
I've seen someone running a similar setup, or possibly you, hosing down a charger with the flamer and it eventually died so it's not a completely hopeless struggle against armored bugs.

I mean, the armors with reduced detection rate make the bugs effectively blind until you're standing on top of them and it's reasonably good vs borgs who are a little slow to react but can see you a further out.
Planet specific armor stealth ratings. Get really autistic with it like the MGS3 camo index so wearing white armor on a snow planet WILL make you (slightly) harder to detect and so on.

playing normally can get you everything you need in a dozen to 20 hours, some higher tier ship upgrades will require going out of your way to collect the stuff you need but it's not terrible

Yes you start on baby mode and unlock the next difficulty by beating one operation on your current difficulty mode. If you play in a group you don't need to unlock difficulties to play with others tho, only the host of your group needs to have them unlocked >How much grind there is?

The map is very big. Have the majority of the group, or at least half, draw the bots away. They will stop spawning at the point. One person can loop around and as long as they aren't fighting, can open the doors on their own without any bots spawning on them while the rest hold the line elsewhere.

i have tried this in the past, unable to get the bots to stop spawning at the point, and sometimes patrols patrol right on in. is there a consistent way to get this started?
also this definitely feels like cheesing, i have to be honest, which is why i wonder if it's harder than they intended. especially since they supposedly keep nerfing it
With the map as big as it is, I'm not sure it's cheesing. Else it'd be small like the eradication missions, I think it may be on purpose.
you have to make sure the bots FOLLOW you off, not just have everyone run, else they'll hang around a good while before despawning. You need to be careful of the patrols. Some need to be killed, others you let pass.You just need to prioritize killing them fast enough before the can start bot drops on you. IMO it works best with everyone waiting for a bot drop then slowly falling back. Then one person (me, in my case) flanks very far and hooks around to the obj. Pick off any stragglers as quick/quiet as possible and play stealth from there on. You'd be surprised just how close patrols can get to you without alerting if they don't have direct line of sight.
How are you effectively farming samples?
I'm not, anon. I never did. I don't know why I'm ending up in lobbies where people are trying to farm samples or trying to play eradication missions over and over to power level (which is so gay to do in a game like this).
All I did was play a good amount, and like I did helldivers 1, and I've gotten plenty. I've bought 3 or 4 full sets of armor from the super store and still would have almost enough for the premium warbond right now (which I have already because I shilled out for super citizen)

The Scythe can actually kill devastators incredibly quickly if you keep the laser on their head. Problem is it requires consistent aiming and staying exposed, which isn't always an option when rockets are flying everywhere.
devastators go down quicker if you laser their crotches, minus shield boys of course. but it's not anything compared to how quickly the diligence would accomplish the same at range, or the breaker close-up
Personally I just bring the AMR. If you're good, it's one shot one kill on Devastators.

the railgun does such shit damage through armor that it's literally fast to just call in rockets or circle around the back to kill the bot. If you're not hitting the weak spot you're just doing wasted chip damage.

The railgun also does excellently dead-on against hulks as they have the weakpoint in their eye. A 90% charged railgun shot does substantial damage that can easily be way worth using over wasting a call in and risking it being on cooldown.
Anyone good with the railgun can consistently core out hulks in one shot. I love the AMR but this isn't the hill to die on.

In regards to scorcher I’d drop it to A tier for bots, the dmg and explosions are excellent but the ammo capacity is a huge downside. Just unlocked it, used it on a diff 4 bot mission and was running out of ammo fast. I feel like on higher difficulties that would be more prevalent and a big problem
I exclusively run the Scorcher on Helldive bot missions because it offers too much utility. Ammo isn't a problem if you're smart about it and don't get stuck endlessly fighting new dropship spawns.

You can self-reload with the pack it's just like 3x as long, maybe 5-6 seconds compared to a buddy reload.

what in mobile game christ is that
multiplayer objective control death match between 2 teams. Players drop in anywhere on the map their desire since they are orbital shot into the battle field ala helldivers style. However the enemy team can contest and control bases which will activate the AA-turrets and blow you out of the sky or use resources to call in AA stratagems to do the same. Which also can be show down by AA. Everyone is in a mech suit that can benefit from an abundance of shield, which recharge but are weaker, armor which has more soak potential but needs downtime to repair, stealth to avoid being targeted or displaying your current build, or a balance because adapt or die. You can run for 4 seconds before the kenetic overdrive system takes you from 15 miles per hour to 90 and you jump jets can help you clear kilometers of distance and elevation as your build dictates. Vehicles, heavy armor, mechs, fast scout bikes, anto personal turrets, anti vehicles turrets, anti air as described before. All of this in a fast violent explosive online match setting against 8 other rat bastards and all the over the top game fluff of Helldivers and Super Earth.

FRICK SCRAMBLING HOLY SHIT. No way is it random, you put in a sentry ten times and it gives you airstrikes every time, try reverse psychology and put in an airstrike, and you get the same or a different strike almost guaranteed.
I love the revolver. I can't hit anything with the first person sights but I can usually pop devastators in two shots when I crouch with third person aim. Auto pistol is prolly still best for bugs.
They should script it so this happens on Super Earth
Stratagem synergies would be a good idea. It would allow the lesser used ones to have a purpose. Like Acid smoke being flammable so if someone also used napalm in the same contact zone it would massively boost destructive potential. Or turrets getting faster firing rate and better accuracy the more of them are in the same kill radius.
I love doing missions, but it's a real shame that playing the game as intended is a far worse waste of time than mortar farming.

levels past 20 dont matter, requisition is not scarce since only a few strategems are any good, medals are also not that important since all the good stuff is found early in the unlocks.

The RR is borderline pointless because while yes, it is powerful, it also has a long fricking reload time and on high difficulties dropping 1 ship that may or may not kill some of its passangers doesn't fricking matter when there are 4-5 more coming in the same moment and by the time you reload they'll all be gone.

I know the armour ratings probably won't make a substantial difference to survivability, but I can't wait for the devs to unfrick them just so I can actually wear some of the damn sets without it being an objective downgrade
if someone brings the increased stamina booster it makes heavy much more survivable. I love muh heavy armor but don't like making the runs across the map taking 20 mins when it becomes time to search for medals/credits. Vehicles will solve that, ppl are hype about the mechs but I also hope we get the two seat motorcycle that one was my fav.

I loved the vehicles from HD1 but I do think we're now at a stage where people are going to be in an uproar and say that Mechs ruined the game unless they are limited to harder difficulty modes or certain maps.
In Helldivers 1 heavy armour made you damn near immune to attacks from the basic trash enemies, so it might end up being pretty tough. I think the movement penalty was more severe in the first game though.

GL is great for deleting the walkers and the hordes of units dropped by dropships. Grab a resupply pack and be the hero that destroys all the bot spawners from a hundred meters away.
You will need help with Bile Titans, Chargers, Hulks, and Tanks. It fricks absolutely everything else up, even armored targets, because its blast damage can hit the squishy bits behind the armor. This is also true of the Scorcher and Dominator btw

Considering you only need to complete 1 chain of missions per difficulty it's possible to get a guy from diff 1 to helldive in a day or two. We unlocked level 6~8 with a level 7 guy that ended up at level 12 by the end.

Anyone have tips where the frick to aim with the arc thrower for the bot walkers? It seems super random on how it either takes one shot or a million hits to kill them aiming for their visor. Also it doesnt let you kill the pilot from the sides, the arc seems to just hit the walker instead and fizzle out

Bots are unironically easier if people just don't run around randomly like morons. They're way easier to retreat from since a lot of them use range, so if the going gets tough you can just retreat and come back. They're also way easier to kill via rail gun than the bugs since all of them die to a headshot, and the tank is easier to 500kg than a bile titan since it holds still way more.

Very high chance it's overtuned or just outright glitches. Lower diffs are manageable because at most will see a single hulk and it usually trundles in as a patrol.
Do the distraction strat, halfway through they will just start dropping bots at the objective so the person escorting just runs to the distractors to reset it.

Defender is actually pretty underrated and you can use it with the ballistic shield which is neat.
yeah the problem with the shotgun is its damage falls off. i can see why people like it if you are being rushed by berserkers or something it can obliterate them but thats also what the automatic pistol is for and i rarely use it otherwise. Magdumping the shotgun into devastators at range can work but if you have the railgun you dont need. The defender is the optimal weapon for rapidly killing lots of regular bots at range, it can wipe a whole dropship worth in one magazine and it also makes it more likley you have something to shoot commisars when you notice them as dealing with these things at range with the shotgun means you could be mid reload more frequently due to the nature of shotgun requiring you to basically three tap things at range because sometimes two doesnt cut it. Its basically the same for defender with a bigger magazine size
railgun, defender, whatever the auto pistol is with eagle airstrike, shield backpack, and orbital laser. Thats my loadout.

you can rapidly farm supercredits by doing level 1 missions, you can check all POIs in like 5 minutes and are likley to find an average of about 30 per run

yes level 1 missions you just drop in with whatever and run in a circle checking all the POIs then escape out back to the ship taking whatever medals (usually around 3 or so) and supercredits you found with you.
If for some reason you want to farm green samples you need to wait on the 2 minute extraction timer though.
Bring light armor so you can sprint longer, deploy in one part of the map then just go clockwise or counterclockwise, level 1 maps are so small you can just run from POI to POI with out fuss, put on an audiobook or something

this is honestly probably the best way to farm medals too
the medals you find laying around in POI can be anywhere from +1 to +3 medals so you can leave some missions with like 5 medals with out even extracting. you can easily get 350 supercredits and 35 medals per hour doing this
high difficulties OR you do the bot defense evac missions on high difficulties and just don't do the objective. Circle the map(smaller on defense missions so everything is close together and in a near-perfect ring around the objective) and grab all the POI's( with a friend to get the double doors) then just catch the emergency shuttle at the end to evac with your samples.

work much better with? yes, RR especially so.
it comes with two parts, the weapon and the backpack. if you want to use it by yourself, you need to equip both, thus sacrificing your backpack slot and making your reload way slower. if another player picks up the backpack they can reload for you and it is lightning fast, but the downside is if they aren't available and nearby you literally cannot reload.
To circumvent this my buddy and I just both pack autocannons and rotate shoot/reload duties. So far, we've been an absolute force to be reckoned with, especially when the one shooting is on a roll with pinpoint accurate weakpoint hits. I really hope they add an alternative to the recoilless rifle that has high-explosive rounds but low armor pen.

Yes this was happening to me last night, only to me not my two friends. Restarted my PC, rebooted my router, nothing. It's like I'm shadowbanned but its almost certainly just the servers still being shit.
I havent been able to join anyone but people can join me so I just host my own lobbies.

The idle kick system fixed it all on its own from my experience. Prolly a bunch of idle chink bots hogging server space.
That and the afk kick have genuinely saved the game.

It's bretty good. Medium armor pen and decent reload speed when solo so you can pop tanks and cannon turrets on their vents.

Watch out the window over a bot planet some time. You'll see giant red energy blasts flying out from the surface and occasionally blow up other destroyers.

Supply backpack is generalized, talking about weapon specific supply armor that basically overclocks the ammo count for the weapon it's designed for

Flamer armor has cool 90's style democratic flame decals, arc thrower armor has cool ass lightning decals and electrical warnings. Acid grenade armor has biohazard shit and so on.

turn around and look at charger, he will do an animation where he stops and skids on the ground
during this animation shoot the back of the legs (you can start firing a bit early and see the armor ping icons) with your primary
you will see you are doing damage
depending on your weapon and accuracy you can kill him in one go or in two
no idea if its a bug, but yeah, primary fire during that animation fricks chargers

Elaborate. They're the only reason I bring railgun to bug missions and i wanna bring my machinegun again.
You can kill them with the flamethrower but it feels like it takes way too long with just one, and especially if the game is throwing two or three of them at your team at once.
I've seen someone running a similar setup, or possibly you, hosing down a charger with the flamer and it eventually died so it's not a completely hopeless struggle against armored bugs.
Pitch some ideas for armor/helmet/weapon mods.

Scout armor that gives all MG's tracer rounds for both visual flare and a slight chance to catch things on fire

Heavy armor with arm actuated strength that lets you rip guns off of turrets and emplacements for another carry weapon option

I mean, the armors with reduced detection rate make the bugs effectively blind until you're standing on top of them and it's reasonably good vs borgs who are a little slow to react but can see you a further out.
A light armor that has bug exoskeleton parts all over it that lets you smell like the bugs so they have a much worse time detecting you.
Planet specific armor stealth ratings. Get really autistic with it like the MGS3 camo index so wearing white armor on a snow planet WILL make you (slightly) harder to detect and so on.
I started this game with fighting robots, then I fought the bugs and thought the game was too easy fighting the bugs.
Anyway to use Gyro with 8bitdo? Or will I have to set up mixed inputs like I did with Monster Hunter World? Or just use KBM, that can work too.

How the frick do you win the civilian extracts against bots?
4 people all with personal shields, railguns, mortar sentries and an offensive stratagem of your choice is enough to get you through difficulty 5
or just create a diversion in the filed while one person extracts the civvies, like you should be doing.

yes, by finishing na operation of the maximum difficulty you can play. oepration being a chain of missions (only 1 on lower difficulties)
