What's some "meta" alternatives?
Railgun, Personal shield, rail orbital, lazer orbital, and breaker shotgun too good. Honestly Recoilless is up there and would use it more. Wanted to play around with other things, but been burned. Arc/flame thrower just feels bad even on lower levels
you can kill bile titans with arc.
also auto cannon is better than rail, just call eagle-1 to deal with biles
Arc is fricking god tier. Takes a few shots, but it completely ignores armor. It's the kind of weapon you can clear the whole map with solo if you're good enough.
3 shots to kill a devastator. Quite a few to kill a hulk. If it's running straight at you from max range on the Arc, you can usually kill it before it gets to flamethrower range. It's probably like 10-15 shots.
Damage is definitely not amazing, but it auto-hits, ignores armor, and has infinite ammo, so all you have to do is spam it vaguely in the direction of the enemy and try not to die.
I just played a game where a teammate was about 75 meters away from me shooting at a bile titan right over him and the fricking thing arced 90 degrees and sniped me.

Jump Pack and the Arc Thrower, not even as a joke the Arc Thrower can kill hulks and tanks from the front dude.
arc changes the game instead of a bug horde killing you feel like a Jurassic park Dino herder using your arch to make the bugs move where you want
The stalwart or the earlier one? The earlier one is dogshit but the stalwart is very good at its niche especially when you crank it up to MG-42 ROF. Though admittedly its only good at melting through hordes of lightly armored stuff but if you fall into the pitfall of "I'm only helldive so I literally do not care about things that can't kill armor" then the same complaint can be made of every gun in the game that isn't the raiglun.
Dude same shit. >Play good and never hit anyone and kill shit. Get kicked.
Today was extra frickin homosexual because there were a lot of people killing team members because they accidentally got friendly fired.
One of my missile turrets, that I literally have no control of, shot and killed my team mate. I immediately called him in and he straight up shot me in the face and didn’t call me back in. I was so pissed. Someone finally did call me back in and I threw a grenade at him right before the he boarded the ship. Frick you homosexual

It can but aiming the arc thrower to try and hit weak spots us fricking weird. Sometimes it'll hit directly where I'm aiming and other times(mostly) it'll hit dead center of the enemy, missing the weakspot, regardless of where I'm aiming.
Personal Shield Generator, or whatever the frick they call it, is a surefire way to out a shitter. Anyone choosing to waste a strategem slot (in a game where you can dodge 99% of everything with basic light armor) instead of more shit to actually remove threats is actively making the game harder on everyone else for their own sake.
Other hot takes; >Railgun should require a backpack to reload >Bullet Airstrikes/Orbitals should strip armor/shields off targets where it's possible >Light AP should strip Medium Armor after a set amount of damage dealt to that specific source, and Medium AP should do the same for Heavy Armor >LMG should have Medium AP >Blocking explosions with the Ballistic Shield should absorb the damage and keep the player planted in place (not ragdoll); getting hit from the flanks act as normal >Breaker should get a damage nerf >Enemy weakpoint damage should be raised (slightly) >Drop Heavy armored units directly on center-top of the map in Automoton Eradicate mission. >Put a reward debuff for repeated completion of a specific mission type too many times in close succession >Double Spear damage >Reduce Orbital Strike Cooldown from 100sec-> 80sec >Have 2x stacks of the damage over time effect for flame/gas damage with repeated exposure to those sources (effectively doubling their lingering damage output) >Stalkers need to frick right off quicker when they have half a goddamn magazine dumped into them before combing you to death
nta, but yeah. A lot of people think they can use it like the recoilless rifle or LAWs, but if you aren't using the Spear at long range, it's *really* out of its element. Honestly, feels like it's really meant for bots above all else. Especially since it can pop their bunkers from any angle.

Except range doesn't seem to be a factor in how flaky the lock-on is, and its also got a bit less range than you would expect for something that kind of needs to be used long range just to give you the 10 seconds of time to actually coerce it into locking on.
All in all its a total write off. I'm taking a break until they make the game not CBT if you bring anything other than a railgun.

It takes some getting used to, but there really is some sort of method to the madness, and once you get it down, popping turret towers from halfway across the map is a great feeling. It almost feels like there's some sort of bizarre overpenetration mechanic or something once the enemy's within fifty or so meters that only seems to apply if they're alerted. I dunno. It could absolutely use a bit of fixing, but it's not entirely worthless once you get used to it either.
It would still have more ammo than the crew serviced weapons, reload faster, receive significantly more from a ammo from a resupply, and achieve AT WORST the same results.
The weapon's just fricked as far as balance goes. Its a gamestop pre-order exclusive memeweapon that somehow found its way into the base game. Its such a basic b***h weapon in terms of mechanic depth that its either going to do its job, and be overpowered as frick as a result, or not do its job, and be completely useless.
You can crank down the ammo capacity until its on par with the crew weapons and end up with basically a recoilless rifle with a fire rate occupying the middle ground between solo reloading and asisted reloading. But why?
Needs to require a backpack to use it, frankly. The railgun has effectively unlimited penetration, but its damage potential when hitting weak spots is lower than weapons with the "Explosive" quality like the Autocannon or Recoilless.
I'm still of the opinion the recoilless needs a buff, mind you. One good rocket to a charger's butt should kill it, like in HD1.
>Bullet Airstrikes/Orbitals should strip armor/shields off targets where it's possible >Light AP should strip Medium Armor after a set amount of damage dealt to that specific source, and Medium AP should do the same for Heavy Armor
Love these ideas
>Put a reward debuff for repeated completion of a specific mission type too many times in close succession
This, only because it makes everyone else suffer while I still keep my maximum warbonds I picked up when a cheater gave me aids. Frick everyone else, though. >Stalkers need to frick right off quicker when they have half a goddamn magazine dumped into them before combing you to death
Just shoot them in the face with your JAR-5 Dominator. It's like a two tap. You did unlock the premium warbond, didn't you, anon?
not really, there is not strat to get one, so you can only get them in game if lucky and also that it has only 2 shells when you pick it up so you either have to resupply or carry ammo pack to make it work...
Actually thats a really good idea. Make it so you can't re-arm it with the resupply and its in a perfect position as a get out of jail free card.
Also buff the break action god that was disappointing.
Generally, I don't like nerfing shit unless it absolutely breaks the game. Rather, everything else should just get buffed to make them more in-line with each other. >Give the recoilless rifle/EAT the ability to destroy limbs in one-two shots, as well as even more stagger on hulks/chargers when hit center mass. >Make it so that tanks can have their movement crippled/disabled by destroying their tank treads. >Give lasers the ability to superheat armor, lowering the armor class (indicated by the armor glowing red hot) and making it more susceptible to lighter armor penetration shots. >Make consistent application of fire damage from the flamethrower force medium-sized bugs away while smaller bugs outright panic. >Redo extra-padding armor passive to instead greatly reduce impact damage. >Double the Punisher shotgun's ammo and also have it's damage increased by like 20-40% to make it a powerful close-range option, while the Breaker still remains a decent midrange shotgun. >Make DMRs deal more weakspot damage/general damage. >pls gib bayonets, i actually like how effective melee is at times
except a dead diver does 0 damage. post a solo tier 9 non eradicate/hive clear deathless. Even if you could theoretically get that picture, you couldn't do it reliably.
you stand in the red in mmos, guaranteed.

>implying mmos aren't about maximizing dps >implying mmo players are using things other than just getting the frick out of the way in order to avoid dying
literally skill issue. the slot you take up for the shield is a slot that could be used for more effectively solving a situation that you would want the shield to save you from in the first place. also if you take the shield backpack on a -1 strategem mission you will truly feel how bad things really are
>Double Spear damage
it doesnt need a damage buff, it just needs to fricking lock when i want it to
and also boost the range so you dont have to basically be in titan puking range
>it doesnt need a damage buff
It 100% does, it has a slow reload, lock-on requirement and frick-all ammo, it’s purely for killing heavies and yet it doesn’t even 1-shot them from any angle.
should require a backpack to reload
I disagree, the best thing about the railgun should be that you don't need a backpack to reload it while still being able to do something to armor.
The backpack weapons need to be buffed past railgun standards, rather than the railgun get nerfed. I'm okay with an ammo and reload nerf to the railgun and turning 2 shots to break charger armor into 3.
Airstrikes/Orbitals should strip armor/shields off targets where it's possible
How is this a hot take.
AP should strip Medium Armor after a set amount of damage dealt to that specific source, and Medium AP should do the same for Heavy Armor
I agree that light AP should be able to eventually strip medium, but heavy armor should only be able to be pierced/stripped by heavy AT. >LMG should have medium AP
It already does doesn't it?
should get a damage nerf
No, other weapons need to get buffed up to the breaker level. The only weapons that feel somewhat good is the starting AR, the breaker, and the scorcher (against bots). >>Put a reward debuff for repeated completion of a specific mission
Unneeded, You're already cucking yourself out of operation bonus medals (aka the most needed currency) in the game by doing this, even if it is faster than doing operations, the medal grind is slow enough that if someone wants to specifically do eradicate/blitz over and over and over again, let them.
Spear damage
Yep, it feels like it should one shot everything in the game for how finicky and heavy it feels. >Reduce Orbital Strike Cooldown from 100sec-> 80sec
This. Orbital should have overall more uptime in the mission to balance out being able to call eagle's in quick succession.
>Unneeded, You're already cucking yourself out of operation bonus medals (aka the most needed currency) in the game by doing this, even if it is faster than doing operations, the medal grind is slow enough that if someone wants to specifically do eradicate/blitz over and over and over again, let them.
You do Eradication missions on Helldive difficulty, and aim for sets of 2, so you can get 8+11 medals. You can also get a decent number of common samples if you put in the extra effort. It's pretty easy to grab 5 of them solo before the enemy really starts spawning heavy, if you have a buddy do the other side you can get all 10 once you learn where they all are. For a 5 minute run including startup and victory screen time, that's not too bad, especially since commons are the ones you need in large numbers.
breaker shouldnt be nerfed, but everything should be raised to its level. lets take the liberator penetrator, actually fricking worthless. breaker spray and pray, even more worthless, in fact, its a scam, the breaker spray and pray is a fricking scam, you think 'hmm i see it has a much bigger mag capacity in exchange for no penetration so it must melt unarmored enemies' lol no it fricking doesnt. the punisher is just a worst version of the slugger. there are two versions of DMR that are the exact same fricking gun. scythe is dogshit, just get the actual laser cannon stratagem. explosive liberator is shit. despite being 'explosive' the dominator's rounds do not actually explode
The Dominator does 200 damage at range (at least that's what the sheet says). It's lower DPS than the breaker, but higher range and precision. Effective at mid range and better against weak points. I think the Dominator is actually pretty much on par with the breaker.
The Defender is also decent. It's not as powerful, but it still has longer range than the breaker and can sustain a bit better. Most notably though is the one-handed feature, letting you use it with a shield or while carrying shit. Much more niche, but it actually has a reason for existing.
Everything else though is shit and needs buffs badly.
>the breaker spray and pray is a fricking scam, you think 'hmm i see it has a much bigger mag capacity in exchange for no penetration so it must melt unarmored enemies' lol no it fricking doesnt.
It's noticeably better for mass hordes but not enough to take it over the breaker i found out
if you're taking spray and pray over the normal breaker its just a downgrade straight up, maybe you'll clutch a scenario where you're being swarmed by 50 scavengers but anything with even the slightest bit of armor will wreck your shit
>much bigger mag capacity in exchange for no penetration
doesn't it actually say it has light but doesn't work?
I like the autocannon but it doesn't feel really great. It's good at clearing higher end chaff like the armored warriors and I think it wasn't too shabby with devastators with shields (or without), but it's not RR/EAT/Railgun tier. The recoil makes it so you can get 1 maybe 2 shots on the rear of a charger. It is nice how fast it is to reload though.
Jump Pack and the Arc Thrower, not even as a joke the Arc Thrower can kill hulks and tanks from the front dude.
I want biles/chargers to have a weak spot on top if you break it open, so you can Johnny Rico em.

>Railgun require backpack
Given any other high end gear requires it if they require ammo, I agree. Rest is too much to line by line so I'll disagree.
The laser drone kicks ass against bugs, autocannon is worth taking up the backpack slot for bots at high difficulty since everyones going to be using railguns to take out the most dangerous enemies but wont have enough ammo to deal with the regular armored types. 500 kg eagle bomb/ regular eagle bombing run is nice for taking out structures. Recoiless rifle is extremely useful as a support weapon in denying bot drops. Mortar is really good. Thats about it for meta alternatives.
The personal energy shield is really just a noob trap, you can manage without it even against bots, especially against bugs. Its worth it against bots if you dont want anything that takes up a backpack slot and theyre more likely to hurt you, and laser drone is bad against them.
I just give them a wider berth than usual and its not a big deal, usually if its in range to shoot them theyre in range to spot me, pretty close overlap. Not too annoying.
ARC thrower and guard dog, and scythe is a friends go to and are usually always the top of the charts in kills just from lack of having to reload ever. Just gotta be mindful of the sporadic ARCING and heat on scythe.
But like most will say, being Grenade Launcher with supply pack is a real team player, good at plugging holes and breaking factories. you just are so weak to heavies, so you kinda need a dedicated heavy man.
Anti Material Rifle is really underrated vs bots, as it can deal with everything that isn't a tank but 2 impacts to the top can destroy them ffs.
>firing my arc gun over and over >huh, you can get away with only small charges when you're swarmed, I wonder when I need to reload >never reload or overheat once during the entire mission
Is it just an infinite ammo gun? I was using it with the portable energy shield, but the laser guard dog sounds like flashlight heaven.
>tfw no one else is ever using the flashlight gun >no one to Imperial Guard with
it's good, play it smart and you never need to reload, but if a situation forces your hand you've got 6 total "Ice packs" for cooling.
good range, consistent beam with fairly low heat buildup, pops the heads off devastators, and cooks bugs in equal measure.
Just a great all-rounder workhorse, like the God Emperor intended.
laser guard dog has straight up killed me more than once. it just does not give a frick it will rake your head with its laser if you're between it and an enemy
I use the Jump Pack with either the Arc Thrower for bugs or the AMR for bots.
Orbital Gatling is also a personal favorite. With the ship upgrade, it lasts for about ten seconds of continuous suppression, while having a short cooldown.
50. Sniper plus jet pack is fricking fantastic against bugs. You two most armored enemies and it instant kill the fat green bile frickers with one shot to the head. If you get swarmed just jetpack away.
railgun isn't actually that useful compared to the utility offered by other shit on lower difficulties, it's only spammed because when the big problem creators get spammed as well in higher difficulties, the only real solution to avoid getting countered instead of being the one countering them, is the railgun. so in higher difficulties, utility loses priority on your support weapon in favor of doing one thing really well
don't ask me how to fix this
>how to fix this
Increase charge time between 0 and 50% when using unsafe mode. Add more anti heavy armor support weapons or fricking fix the spear. Make it possible to disable heavy units like blowing the arms off a hulk. Something like >blast a leg off a bile titan >it falls but shakily gets up trying to rebalance on legs >it moves slow and akwardly and if it uses the bile spit, it falls over mid spray
For chargers >blast off a back leg, no more charges
For bot tanks >blow up treads, no more movement, machinegun on the front becomes almost useless so a bot pops out of the top to come shoot at you
Bots could also use a fast moving intercept unit. The jetpack bots sorta do that but I honestly haven't seen them even attempt to jump in a long while.
This.
Autocannon should be at least be able to pen charger/hulk armor. Maybe not break, but penetrate and do damage.
Arc gun should have a shorter charge time
Solo reload for recoilless should be a bit shorter.
The Railgun is so good not only because of its damage and armor shred, but because its ammo economy is unbeatable. Better shred, better damage and you can reload on from ambient ammo packs? Its got all positives and no negatives unless you're a moron and blow yourself up (I'm the moron)
The only thing that competes with its utility is the grenade launcher, but its in an entirely separate niche. The MGs are noob weapons or for teams coordinating around having enough AP to do the mission while still having the QoL of having someone on horde clear.
I can't comment on the spear since I haven't tried it yet, but I've heard its too finicky/buggy to be depended upon

All of this could be solved immediately by reducing unpenetrated armour from 100% damage mitigation to 50%. Make the player's decision between high DPS (MGs etc) and high burst (railgun etc) rather than "do literally nothing" and "kill one thing at a time but that's infinitely more than nothing". All weapons should have the capacity to kill all enemies but some do it better than others situationally.
>100% damage mitigation to 50%
Not a bad idea but 50% is too much, 75% would be better as that way armour pen still has a niche. With only a 50% dmg reduction everyone would just start spamming as many bullets as possible to brute force the dmg
Naw, I think having some weapons good at killing certain things is better. Frick the shitters who want to use their pet loadout for everything. MGs being good at chaff clear and horrible at AP is good balance.
The problem is too many weapons do nothing. Not that all of them do nothing. The Auto Cannon especially is horribly telegraphed as a heavy penetrating weapon, yet dings off all the stuff you'd want to bring it against the most. Or the Recoilless taking 2 business days to reload and still taking 3-4 shots to kill Hulks and Chargers.
The Railgun doesn't have competitors because its competitors all have massive downsides and its downside is ONLY that you can, if you're dumb, blow yourself up. If its competitors were brought up to its level in terms of utility or damage the different weapons would naturally be used in their niche and it wouldn't be as dominant. The MGs and GL already fulfill a separate niche, they don't need to do AP once the others are balanced out.
I ran the Auto Cannon basically since I got it until I hit level 20 and got the Railgun.
Its a good weapon but going from having to line up and shoot a Hulk 3 times in the tiny face to casually lining up and killing it in one is no contest. The reload is fine, even solo, especially since its a 2 stage strip clip, if you don't empty it completely the reload is pretty snappy. But again, it just can't compete with how good the railgun is for that.

Yeah the autocannon is pretty viable solo, the rocket launcher on the other hand is basically not an option.

Recoilless or the expendable?
Recoilless with a mate carrying the backpack is actually fricking great. But good luck coordinating that consistently. Solo its not an option, you're right.
The EAT is actually sleeper great if you do it right. Each Calldown is 2 launchers, and its a short CD, 80 seconds I think. So calling it almost constantly gets you a lot of shots throughout a mission. Its also the only weapon to consistently one shot drop ships.

Learning that the auto cannon is basically a 10 round magazine fed by two 5-rounx stripper clips was a great quality of life changer for me. You can reload when at 1-5 rounds and it'll be significantly faster than an empty reload. If you hold R to check rounds and you're at 6 you can fire a round then reload to get the full 10 ready
Gas and Airburst are fun horde clearing stratagems, gas can actually blow up buildings, so you get a nice bug breach AOE stratagem and a bot/bug spawn hole destroyer in one 75 second cooldown package.
If you have the medals, the scorcher is actually probably better the breaker against bots, absolutely detest using it against bugs however.
>Game tells you how many bugs were killed >Doesnt tell you how much damage was done >Or how many special bugs were killed >Or how much each player spent on objective time
Lame
This shit is why so many people take the fricking mortar sentry and aggro the entire map. It's shit for doing anything useful, but it certainly racks up kills while alerting every single patrol in a kilometre radius, and triggering a dozen breaches and bot drops.
>This shit is why so many people take the fricking mortar sentry and aggro the entire map
Aggro on sentry does NOT translate to aggro on player. That is why mortar is best strategem in the game. You toss mortar up high in the opposite direction you plan to go and it permanently locks down patrols in a corner out of the way and from hurting you, Black person lover.
is explosive protection on armor any good? does it work on spit? i see no reason for use anything but scout, throwing perk and more stims and the democracy one.
It's definitely good, you can survive rockets, they leave you with half HP after a direct hit. Don't know if it works on spit or not. That doesn't kill me consistently enough without it to be sure.
Ok what is the fricking deal with the Spear? Do you have to use it in ADS for consistent locks? Or does someone NEED to spot the target and call it out? I love the weapon but it is fricking fickle.
I tried to sneak this mission and didn't realize the seismic objectives all call in dropships. The final one called in 6 by itself.
I was out of eagle calldowns, so I chucked 4 grenades, railgunned the hulk and then looped everyone else to clutch the last input.
Managed to finish it with 15 seconds left before pelican 1 picked up my team mate with all the samples.

A lot of shit in the game feels like it varies to a high degree, not when playing solo though. Some netcode shit might be causing damage to register differently depending on the latency between all the players.
i have not one shot a hulk in unsafe mode with the railgun. i have one shot many hulks with the railgun in unsafe mode. is this an issue specifically with it being LITERALLY bugged vs the bile titan?

Ideal setup in my experience look a bit like: >target at the longest range you can manage >target 90% unobstructed >no dust or other particle effects in between you and target >likes it when targets are tagged by anyone including you >prefers targets be below the operator, hates it when they're above >sometimes, it just doesn't feel like working today even when you do everything right
Campaigns are entire planets, fill the blue bar before the red one by completing operations on a community-wide scale
Operations are a collection of missions in a region, do them all to get bonus medals
Missions are the actual objectives you select
For this major order you can do your part by going to bot space, picking a planet that says DEFEND and completing operations (not just missions), difficulty doesn't matter but the evacuation missions are still gigafricked even on trivial, so go up to easy or medium so people can carry you with better guns
>get teamkilled right at the end of a battle >respawn in while other randos are regrouping and resupplying >as Im doing the same, activate an eagle strata in prep for the next nest right beside us >host kicks me
I can only assume he thought I was going to airstrike everyone else in retaliation for myself getting TK'd, but now I wish I did. That was the last mission I needed to hit level 10. Whatever frickers I had all the samples from that run
I hope they fix what happens when you shoot drop ships down. It's so fricking lame. The ship disappears, non of the bots die and then the ship flies in from offscreen and explodes. Every single fricking time.
They're like children, you have to teach them.
Thats why whenever I have a no mic low level player follow me around while I hit every POI I will shoot and detonate the hellbombs embedded in the ground. Its the only way they'll learn.
it's fine if they have a brain and bought the right stratagems, the issue is that you're utterly starved for money at that point so it's easy to buy dumb shit and waste your limited funds. honestly, it's fine as long as they just have eats and probably airstrike, and you're not bringing them to the cooldown cucking missions
Trivial. Map is small, you can cover everything super fast, lets you hit like 5-8 POIs inside of 7 minutes if you're quick. Primary objectives will be something like killing a single brood commander, shooting a broadcast tower, or raising a flag. All super fast. Lets you net lots of medals and credits in an hour.
I have been fiddling around with this:
If you set your matchmaking to friends only for a solo game, it seems like setting it back to public just doesn't work until you reboot the game.
If you switch it to friends only it will stay that way for the session until you switch back.
Set matchmaking to public. Exit game. Open game again. People will join up pretty quick.
WEAPON WISHLIST >more smgs, the thinking mans weapon (p90 needed) >some sort of bolt-action, with high armor pen at the cost of low mag/ammo capacity >a drilling as a straight upgrade of the break-action >more energy weapons >gun-variants that do freezing to match the explosive/fire we have
what else besides the already confirmed silenced?
a sword
a power fist of democracy
autocannon guard dog
grenade launcher guard dog
mg guard dog
arc thrower guard dog
flamethrower guard dog
sawed off double barrel secondary
sticky grenade launcher
incendiary grenade launcher
a jump pack that boosts you forward and up into the enemy weaponizing your ragdolled body
a democracy sized buzzsaw that the hulks use
flamer variant that spits fireballs like that one weapon from FNV
A cryo flame thrower would be neato. Less damage but way more CC. Maybe even give other kinetic weapons a little buff when they strike semi-frozen targets because they are brittle. Nice supportive weapon.
A hammer of dawn call stratagem you can point and burning enemies like ants under a magnifying glass with an orbital laser.
A sticky bomb launcher that will attach to any surface or enemy and is triggered with secondary fire.
The special edition of the game gets you a "p90" btw.
Also try the plasma or slugger, they work like your idea of the bolt action. The slugger breaks armour, and the plasma is basically a mini railgun, its issue being low mag capacity, it actually does good damage per shot.
I mostly like the weapons we have, I just wish there were rebalanced. Penetrator sucks ass and should have the same magazine size as the liberator, the pump shotgun should do way more damage, the counter sniper should have armour penetration, things like laser should have it that if you edge red heat levels it does higher damage, so the longer you hold it the more damage it does but risks overheating and needing to reload etc. The breaker is actually fine, the problem is entirely that other weapons dont seem to be working as intended. >SMG does more damage than an assault rifle with no real downside besides fire speed, which is offset by increase damage per shot
Shouldnt that be the other way around?
>Also try the plasma or slugger, they work like your idea of the bolt action. The slugger breaks armour, and the plasma is basically a mini railgun, its issue being low mag capacity, it actually does good damage per shot.
noted, also a shame about the p90 being in the special edition only, guess ill get my friend to equip it so i can kill him for it to see how it goes
Plasma definitely isn't a mini railgun. It fills a very different role - being explosive, it deals bonus damage to weak spots. Three-shots scout striders to the front armor, four-shots spore trees, and it takes about a full magazine to kill a hulk, tank, or cannon tower by shooting the rear vent. Very good utility.
>and it takes about a full magazine to kill a hulk, tank, or cannon tower by shooting the rear vent.
if you mean detachable magazine then yes

how many mags does it have in total?

No, it's energy because it fires exploding plasma balls, but it still uses magazines. Decent amount of ammo - I'd call it closer to a battle rifle than a bolt-action like the other anon did. Still my favorite weapon for the utility it brings.
that's actually a really good idea when it comes to laser weapons, so much so that it feels like a no brainer with how they should have functioned.
but yes, breaker is actually fine, it's just that there's something holding most of the other weapons back from occupying a role properly.
Yeah just limit it with gas and ammunition, so you can't cheese the shit out of everything. The game's AI can't even deal with people sprinting around, a fast bike would probably be broken for the most part if it wasn't limited.
such a shame this game was absolute dogshit on arrival. Vermintide 2 at least had a complete game that they then added on to, darktide just had literally nothing, and years later the game is almost SORT OF what it should have looked like on release, when vermintide was getting new content
>big fat battle rifle >that might mean the old Justice >or it might mean a big chunky WW2 or cold war battle rifle >both is good, point is something full caliber that hits as hard or harder than the DMRs with semi-controllable full auto >rifle grenades as a weapon upgrade or grenade choice, a shittier pocket EAT tied to your primary >bayonets so that stabbing POI scouts in the ass to loot quietly is more viable than needing repeated melee strikes as it is now >return the Rumbler, let me fire it both direct and indirect, let it smash fabricators and bug holes from the outside like a Spear, keep the gas and the ability to effectively top attack tanks >bring back Bastion and give it a couple extra seats with less important but still usable self defense weapons to complement the main gun+coax, or at least have tank riding slots for your +2 >a light exo/power armor for living out novel and OVA Starship Troopers fantasies
Give
I want a big AMR. >must be prone or braced by ally to use standing >absolutely fricks heavy armor but with a slow rate of fire and insane recoil recovery >frick all ammo but no support pack
i use the amr but don't ads. i kinda just use the barrel to aim and hope i land my shots. it's pretty potent when bugs and bots are up close and the amr sounds cool when i magdump.
Hipfire 90% of the time so if I'm zooming its probably to use a scope anyway.
Not sure why this game is third person when you have to ADS. Its so jarring
Its extraordinarily disorienting. It'd be nice if they added a first person mode as an experiment with basically no bells or whistles. Being swarmed by bugs in first person sounds like a lot of fun.
if youre that far behind, remember, you can hold x to drop items, including samples, drop them off at the extraction point if you happen to pass by it, that way you cant lose them
You mean I don't have to dive when I'm on a firing perch and pray to god I don't go careening off the edge?
Needs to require a backpack to use it, frankly. The railgun has effectively unlimited penetration, but its damage potential when hitting weak spots is lower than weapons with the "Explosive" quality like the Autocannon or Recoilless.
I'm still of the opinion the recoilless needs a buff, mind you. One good rocket to a charger's butt should kill it, like in HD1.
>Needs to require a backpack to use it, frankly
It'd still be a better option than the crew serviced weapons and all you do is even further sideline the backpack gear in favor of armor defeating weapons that are completely mandatory.
>Recoilless Rifle >Takes a backpack to reload >Extremely slow reload if not with a teammate >Single-shot before reloading >Deals mediocre damage
The Recoilless should one-shot chargers with a hit to the face, two-shot hulks from the front and 3-shot Bile Titans. Its completely outclassed in every way by the railgun right now
Eagle's best by far. Power steering is quietly very good as well but the upgrades preceding it are quite mediocre. I'll probably pick up the sentry ammo one next. It seems quite good on paper.
Theres only 1, and you also get that in game.
Only issue is how they dish it out. We're flooded with requisition slips, medals are a blanket participation award, and super credits are RNG. There is no reward for performance.
There's only one premium currency, anon, and you can get it by playing the game normally.
>medals for battle pass progression >requisitions for stratagem progression >xp for leveling up >3 DIFFERENT KINDS OF RESOURCES JUST FOR UPGRADING THE SHIP
I dont want five different currencies just give me one this is so pointlessss
I think you personally ascribe premium to mean real world money but no defenition of preimium actually means that

This.
Having 50% cooldown reduction for 110m hellpods and my sentries would make diff 7 and above boring. Right now this shit is bonkers great BECAUSE there is a lot of different things you need to do to be effective as a Diver.
I think it balances the game out. If you play the game, and explore, you get medals, samples, SC, and credits all in decent amounts, vs the idiots that are spamming eliminate missions will be lvl 50 and have all the medals, but won't have any SC or samples to upgrade anything past the base.
>About to toss an orbital laser >Rocket blows me back by like 20 meters >Orbital laser does not care, destroys the threats anyway
Thanks Super Destroyer!
>about to call in glorious eagle strike >team mate danger closes a cluster bomb strike right on top of us >drop the marker when I get knocked down >pilot gives no shits and drops the strike right on top of me anyway
>Dodge a charger >He spins on a dime and does a 120 degree turn to hit me anyway
Starting to hate these homies almost as much as I do the suicide jetpack robots
I want them to add gigabugholes where you have to climb down into them >Gigamaze of bug tunnels every which way, no room to maneuver and and if you alert them they come at you from every direction >Machineguns more useful because you can send a hose of bullets down a passage and riddle anything coming up it >Pitch black, weapons with torches worth their weight in gold >Stratagems fricking disabled, no 500kg bombs 4 u
And just imagine all the kinds of missions we could get >Scientist got lost in a bug tunnel, escort him out >Carry this hellbomb all the fricking way down there and blow it to kingdom come, requires two men to carry it >Hunt the queen, find the gigantic cavern with a fat ass bug the size of a bile titan buried deep underground
And you could do something similar to the robots except a densely built industrial world with warrens of subways and ventilation shafts.
>try diff 5 scientist evacuation 3 times >fail 3 times with under 20 rescued
What am I doing wrong? I'm bring EAT, Autocannon, tried both Breaker and Defender, tried different sentries, Eagle Airstrike & Cluster, etc.
I'm level 13 atm so no personal shield or railgun yet
Bring friends, drop in at the edge of the map and kite enemies around the outskirts while 1 dude sneaks in and mashes buttons. It's actually doable if you're strategic. They're still ridiculously overtuned, but it's way easier than you'd think if you just hammer down the middle and try to fortify.
>Bring friends
See, that's my problem
The only games my friends play are stuff like Lost Ark, Palworld, Path of Exile/Last Epoch, and MOBAs.
I tried to get them to play DRG in the past and it was an uphill battle to even get a group of 3.
>obsession with blacks will literally cause some homosexuals to not play something they might enjoy
if you hate them why do you let them influence your enjoyment of something like this
Getting tired of people saying everyone on their ship is all black crew, what the frick does being black mean anymore if simply having dark skin makes you black. >I sat in the sun too long... >no...NOOOO
Everybody knows about the easy medal farm. They're the scourge of the war effort because they keep forfeiting operations, which counts as a win for the enemy. They also shit up the quickplay for anyone who wants to do real missions rather than be a 24/7 defense shitter.
Holy frick the SPEAR is garbage. Slow as frick reload, piss all ammo, requires a backpack AND lockon and it doesn’t even 1shot heavies, legitimately what the frick are they thinking with the support weapons. They need to buff everything but the railgun
orbital rail cannons will soften up bile titans enough to die to an impact grenade, a cluster bomb or a couple GL shots. it seems really random, though.
>people have started asking my hours because im high level and i assume they're paranoid im an Eradicate farmer
i dont understand the point of doing eradicate spam.
It's for shitters who want to progress their warbond fast without actually getting good. Nothing's gated past level 20, so there's no reward for leveling up after that beyond titles.
fast medals, done in 2-3 mins, lots of levels, and money to spend on things you get from those levels. hits three things at once, a farmer's wet dream. and there's a lot of farmers
Getting real tired of every Automaton quickmatch dumping me in a shitty Defense farm group.
yeah you gotta host your own shit against bots or you're going to be sad. bug quickplay is night and day
i know i play games more than most other people but i already have everything unlocked and im 30 rares from maxing out the ship upgrades just from playing for 90 hours. id have gotten it done today if i didnt lose 100s of samples playing solo 8s
If they made it so you had to kill like 300 or even 400 bots/bugs I don't think people would be spamming those missions as much. Right now they're just way too easy to finish.
I think the balance for any vehicle other than walkers would be fricked. Not only are the terrains more fleshed out that it would make it hell to drive a fricking tank or apc over, but small bugs would still have to vaguely be enough of a threat that you'd still shoot them rather than just running them over. Lets also not forget that high difficulties are pretty much stealth runs and that vehicles would no doubt be loud as shit so they would need to still be viable at high difficulties or you're just wasting stratagem slots.
I know it's problem not exclusive to helldivers but I am really fricking sick of people who keep their mic perpetually on. >rando joins in >hear everything in double + dog barking + tv on +fan going + family arguing + child crying + cars honking
If only fragging them would shut them up I wouldn't have to go into menus and boot them out in the middle of the firefights they start by shooting every patrol the second they land.
Today I did a single helldive egg squashing mission and the host left right after, so I went back to the bush leagues and mentored a few people around level 10 for an operation. The spear is fricking awful, but i had a lot of fun with the AMR/Jump pack combo, even if it barely lifts you off the ground. The revolver is fun of the thrill of reloading, because it damn sure isnt better than the auto pistol
Will probably fight some bots tomorrow, but not for long - i just love shooting bugs
Basically yeah.
No queue on the servers anymore, you just get right in now.
I had a couple crashes while loading into missions in the last 2 days, but thats 2 or 3 out of maybe 2 dozen missions I played. And all at the start instead of midway through a mission, like some were reporting earlier.
Its definitely playable. Up to you whether a few crashes will frick up your enjoyment.
>join pub on hard >fellow diver with orange engi look grabs the recoilless rifle, so I grab his pack >run around the map having fun adventures blowing up giant bugs with rapid fire shelling and orbital strikes/eagles >fist bump after nuking bile titan
Comfy.
having a loader for the autocannon with a horde charging you is some of the most satisfying shit in the game. You can dump the whole pack in probably 20 seconds
Dogshit
Its a tickle gun.
Its only use is that its pinpoint accurate. So if you're on something lower level you can snipe the bots off their walkers if you have 2 minutes to line it up right. It does too little damage to even kill berserkers. Its okay against low level bugs but overheats pretty quick so if you're swarmed its less useful than something with more ammo.
The basic AR is better by a mile.

I like using it to go for headshots vs the bots. Its pinpoint accurate and the laser is continuous so its really easy to go for the head.
if it doesn't feel like ass against berserkers i wouldn't mind giving it a shot actually, being able to accurately cut down the little boys is what i want from my primary vs the bots
It happened to me for the first time, was sneaking up to a bug outpost and 15 bugs just pop in around me. Ended up panic calling an orbital strike on my position and diving down the cliff.
Yes. Every time you abort an op, or leave the game before finishing the full operation is a victory for the bots. You have to play the full 2 fricking hour operation or you contribute toward territory loss.
So the guys farming medals by finding the operations with 2 eradicate or defense missions and then leaving are actively contributing to planet losses.
Doesn't help those are usually paired with a civilian extraction, which is basically an automatic loss anyway.
No. You don't have to play the "2 fricking hours". You can always keep the operation and come back to it, so long as the planet hasn't been lost.
Objectively, seeing as the lowest difficulties still count to planet progress, it would be more effective to defend/liberate a planet by speed running 1-3 difficulties that only have 1-2 missions in them. Boring for sure.

Yeah why don't difficulties matter to the fake war % numbers? You could do a multiplicative modifier that goes both directions for success and failure and it would still mean frick all anyway but at least for the roleplay.

Agreed. It seems odd that the 3 missions you do on +5 give "3" influence (cause you did 3 objectives that effect the war) but the trivial/easy gives "1". I get it, a nuke is a nuke, but make my 5+ difficulty nuke do more for Democracy's sake. I had to get codes AND start a fuel pump AND fight 2 tanks in range of enemy mortars.
Civilian rescue / evac missions are completely broken and need a major rebalance. They need to grab the dial for how many drop ships can appear and turn it down to 25% of its current value across all difficulty levels.
I know it would break the difficulty to give the civvies a stronger sense of self preservation. But watching a full line of them run straight into the chainsaw arms of a berserker one after another just as an airstrike was called down on it is a dire experience.
I think the problem is the way they did the timer. You'll notice that from the mission select it says that you are supposed to have 40 minutes, but in game you only get 15. Enemy presence becomes stronger as the timer ticks down, so I think the game is treating it as if you've already spent 25 minutes in the mission from the start.
I kinda just want them to at least make the pathing a little clearer. Instead they'll just randomly run the long way and walk through terrain to reach the door.
Fact-checker here. Abandoning the mission does not count towards the bots, but you dont get credit towards victory unless you finished the entire mission. So its more like you contributed nothing towards the war effort. But this is bad because we are on the clock for defending planets and there is also natural decay when attacking a bot planet. So the people not finishing operations are dead weight, they arent even playing the game.
Failing bot planets is a foregone conclusion when scientest evacs are overtuned as they are right now
Pubs will almost never finish a full operation if it includes that evac
We already successfully defended 5 planets but yet you keep making excuses. At least attempt the mission. Dont skip it.
Anonymous
I do attempt them. I've failed 6 of them today when they were the last mission of the pub groups I joined
The fact that only this one specific mission type needs a very specific strategy that no other mission type needs (kiting) shows there's something wrong with that particular mission >get friends instead of pubs
I've failed to convince my friends to play co-op games with me. Even the ones that ask me about HD2 never end up getting it

I think the problem with this major order is that it requires you to do a difficult, annoying mission type and the reward is shit. 12000 requisition slips, which you can get by doing like 3 missions on 6+ AND are also the least valuable currency in the game. If they're going to give us a major order like that at least make the reward worrth it

Correct
I have no use for them at this point and I've been playing really casually
I need medals
I used the Arc Thrower on 3 missions vs bots and bugs and i just don't understand it. Sometimes you shoot it and it kills 10 enemies, sometimes it doesn't do anything. Its either extremely good or terrible and i don't know which
The Arc thrower is good but it's bugged and literally cannot work if there's a corpse anywhere in front of you. Even if you aim past the body it just fizzles in mid air.
>brand new just joined >didnt understand mission selection at first and picked a random one >joined a lobby with level 50 >get insta-kicked
huh, let me try another random mission >single level 50, insta-kicked again
Then I found out how to solo queue. But still, I was on the beginner difficulties. What were they expecting?
Probably never. But a lot of stuff isn't even working as intended. Armor, mainly, but fire damage isn't doing as well as it should (apparently). I hope they shrink the zones for 120mm and 380mm or at least 120mm because it's not very fun. Definitely cool looking.
Shield gen is a waste of a slot against bugs.
Bots I can forgive people using it,
Laser drone so you can completely ignore chaff and focus on main threats is almost always a superior option
>b-b-but you'll alert patrols
Don't walk close to patrols and it'll never fire.
Besides who the frick wants to stealth around in this game about killing waves of bugs and bot en masse, anyway?
Report all these homosexuals to the nearest democracy officer.
I prefer shield vs bugs and opt to bring in another orbital or eagle for bots. I just don't like the poison from leapers slowing me down and it's amazing insurance against stalkers who are consistently some of the fastest killers just short of bile spewers in my experience.
Exactly, the bile and slow spam on higher difficulties CAN be avoided but the safety the shield provides is excellent. In addition, it’s also good for protecting against friendly fire and charger spam nerf chargers ffs arrowhead, it’s fine for them to be fast, strong and tanky but giving them an insane turn radius as well when they’re spammed on higher difficulties is fricking bullshit
>Level 15 host playing on extreme difficulty with high levels carrying the missions >We do pretty good >Try to shake his hand at the end of the campaign >Kicked
Can I just get a jerk off animation so I can jizz on people before I leave instead of trying to be a gentlemen and getting shit on for it?
Technically Reinforce too, I guess. You have a max number of lives as a team and once you're out it goes on a time limit, one at a time every 2 minutes. If everyone is dead at that point the mission is over (but if you have all the main objectives are finished, technically you still completed the mission and you get rewards, otherwise its a fail).
The way some people play is going to be a bigger threat than the actual enemy. The chaos is part of the fun, but really annoying if you get matched up with the wrong party.
Need some tips for using the arc because holy shit does it feel like if any friendly is on my screen, theyre going to get hit by it. Is that the case? If so it makes it feel impossible to wield unless youre playing alone. Like does anyone have a general guide on how close friends can be for them to not get hit by it?
Play on easier diffs and loot every poi in duos. I’ve been doing 4-6 with randos so it’s not an utter snoozefest and I’ve gotten about 1000 in the past few days. Look for lobbies that have high lvls as they’ll probably be doing the same
Technically you go solo and run around an easy mission and hit every POI
I think just doing full missions and opening bunkers and crashed drones as you can is a pretty good rate of return already. I've almost got the premium pass at about 40 hours. 960 credits right now.
There are points of interest with storage cargo containers half buried you need to blow open. They won't have the golden beams shooting upwards, but popping the front of the container with a grenade or autocannon shot has two loot options that can be SC, medals, a support weapon, or rare samples.
They'll typically look like lonely houses with a few bugs around them standing guard with the container buried close to the house in a ditch. Bunkers are nicer but more obvious and less common
Specifically, go to those stupid rescue missions (retrieve essential personnel) on Trivial. The reason you want those missions in particular is the way the map generates.
Drop on the outer edge of the map, if there's water, drop near that so you can complete the map going one direction. Make a circle around the map looking for special loot locations. Every map is guaranteed to have one "shed" that you have to blow up the doors with a SC pile inside. The glowing pods you Salute to open MAY have SCs, but no guarantee and it doesn't affect the chance of getting a shed.
Once you find your guaranteed shed, immediately quit the mission. Don't wait for evac or anything, just quit back to the ship and find another one. You should be able to get at least 300 SC/hour this way.
This Black person and others like him are why we lose progress on planets so fast. don’t actually care, just think it’s funny when people have been calling the progression rigged
You don't actually lose progress, but even if you did it's for fricking microtransaction bullshit currency. Frick the devs for even putting that shit in the game.
Reminder to suck it up and help with the defense orders before the ~~*bots*~~ take too many systems. Civ rescues can be done easily if you coordinate and aren't a complete shitter.
Always lookin for more peeps to play with, here be friend code.
50308585
Also, holy shit the explosive liberator is so fricking bad. Like actually it's so dogshit. Recoil sucks, fire-rate sucks, still takes like 5 shots to kill a warrior. Why are all the sidegrades so damned bad bros?
Do most people actually find bots harder than bugs? I think bots are so much easier. I can do difficulty 8 bot missions no problem while difficulty 7 bug missions have me struggling to accomplish anything
The sheer amount of explosives bots have make them 10x harder.
Bile Titans and Chargers can easily be kited. Hulk Busters and Rocket Devastators do not give a frick what range you are at, they will one shot you from across the map.
I think this will be a huge change to the game meta. Because as far as we know right now, armor does NOTHING. We very well might be playing at max difficulty compared to how it was supposed to be balanced.
The only armor i know thag does anything is the one that comes with the super citizen purchase. i know because i accidently bouce grenade launcher shots back at myself and survive.
nah, it's the 50% chance to survive fatal damage. there's nothing unique about the pre-order and super citizen armors aside from looks. the super store has unique combinations of armor class and passives though. i'm pretty much waiting for trench medic cause 6 stims and fast speed.
>tfw heavy armor for helldivers works like heavy armor for enemies >can only be killed by spewers, chargers, titans, rockets, hulks, and tanks >can ignore everything else
would be great tbh
Never heard of this game until the day it was released. That blue armour is my favourite shade of blue, and the only armour I've seen that comes close.
I don't care if it's considered lowbie trash, I wish I had it.
Depends how much it actually reduces damage.
There's a lot of good perks on medium, so much so I'm using them now.
If the damage is basically what it is now, I'll keep using it, if its less, then definitely going to use it. I'd only switch if somehow medium takes more damage.

Frick this sucks. Its not even realistic since in the real world every female pilot is currently crashing 100 million dollar jets every other week. Realistically every 2nd or 3rd time I call in an airstrike the dumb b***h should accidentally crash her plane and kill herself.
I dont want to hear the same Jennifer Hale-esque girlboss voice performance ive heard 1000 times before in the last 7-8 years constantly in my ear. Why is that a "hot take" as you metrosexual homosexuals say these days?
No one is saying to buff the good stuff
Buff the bad stuff to the same level as the current good stuff
Then we can maintain the same difficulty while having more options
Anyone try the JAR-5 Dominator? (final weapon on the premium warbond). I just unlocked it and it seems better than the shotgun to me. I can 1-shot devastators with ranged headshots, although the supposed medium armor pen doesn't seem any different than light. It still can't damage a Charger's legs or the front armor of a Hulk (even headshots)
Which one of you fricks is this?
that's a redditor
me 🙂
Why are the armors so good in hell divers and why are armors in video games so bad in general? First sci Fi game I've seen look tacticool and SciFi
the engineering armor in deadspace was pretty cool
Want some help?
Eagle-1 is ALWAYS on station to meet my needs
The LMG sucks so fricking bad holy shit
It def needs an armor pen buff.
Hopefully that's what the HMG is gonna be. I need muh DAKKA and support pack squadkino
lmg is great homosexual
you can kill bile titans with arc.
also auto cannon is better than rail, just call eagle-1 to deal with biles
Arc is fricking god tier. Takes a few shots, but it completely ignores armor. It's the kind of weapon you can clear the whole map with solo if you're good enough.
What's the correct way to use the Arc Thrower?
aim directly at whoever has green armor.
Everyone usually says
>aim slightly above the head for literally everything
but I have my doubts about the damage output. I'll have to test it soon.
Still less dangerous than a GL
arc changes the game instead of a bug horde killing you feel like a Jurassic park Dino herder using your arch to make the bugs move where you want
I'm glad I'm not the only one who refers to the Arc Thrower as "The Jurassic Park gun".
The stalwart or the earlier one? The earlier one is dogshit but the stalwart is very good at its niche especially when you crank it up to MG-42 ROF. Though admittedly its only good at melting through hordes of lightly armored stuff but if you fall into the pitfall of "I'm only helldive so I literally do not care about things that can't kill armor" then the same complaint can be made of every gun in the game that isn't the raiglun.
homosexual
It's better than the LMB.
The frick are you talking about?
Lick My Butt LMFAO
LigMa Balls
the LMG is great especially against the buggers
Autocannon mogs though
I'm caving to peer pressure and installing it now.
it's over for you
It’s fun; don’t listen to the contrarian homosexuals, trannies, or (you) farmers.
Game has so much fun content for 3days
played with a pajeet who kept saying SIR with his indian accent and we all couldn't stop laughing in voice
>SAAR PLEASE REINFORCE SAAR
> NO YOU BLOODY BASTARD b***h DO NOT BOMB DO NOT BOMB
>>SAAR PLEASE REINFORCE SAAR
he actually did say this and I literally died laughing I couldn't play properly
>get most kills
>0 friendly fire
>stick with the group
>get kicked before the final mission
I am getting really sick of this shit
Dude same shit.
>Play good and never hit anyone and kill shit. Get kicked.
Today was extra frickin homosexual because there were a lot of people killing team members because they accidentally got friendly fired.
One of my missile turrets, that I literally have no control of, shot and killed my team mate. I immediately called him in and he straight up shot me in the face and didn’t call me back in. I was so pissed. Someone finally did call me back in and I threw a grenade at him right before the he boarded the ship. Frick you homosexual
I had the based bug where I had no access to any of my weapons but could call unlimited stratagems with no cooldown
I wish it happened during an impossible mission and I would've just lasered everything
>Waifuing our EAGLE pilot
I'll allow this.....any more?
What's some "meta" alternatives?
Railgun, Personal shield, rail orbital, lazer orbital, and breaker shotgun too good. Honestly Recoilless is up there and would use it more. Wanted to play around with other things, but been burned. Arc/flame thrower just feels bad even on lower levels
Antimatter rifle and marksman rifle are good against bots. Grenade launcher is also good as long as you don't mind being dead weight against crushers.
I dont think its meta but GL + supply backpack is really neat, constantly launching noob tubes at bots is fun
i love using this against bugs, is it good against bots too?
Jump Pack and the Arc Thrower, not even as a joke the Arc Thrower can kill hulks and tanks from the front dude.
It can but aiming the arc thrower to try and hit weak spots us fricking weird. Sometimes it'll hit directly where I'm aiming and other times(mostly) it'll hit dead center of the enemy, missing the weakspot, regardless of where I'm aiming.
Scorcher is fricking great against bugs and bots. I'm pretty sure it hasn't really entered the meta because most people probably don't have it yet.
Other hot takes;
>Railgun should require a backpack to reload
>Bullet Airstrikes/Orbitals should strip armor/shields off targets where it's possible
>Light AP should strip Medium Armor after a set amount of damage dealt to that specific source, and Medium AP should do the same for Heavy Armor
>LMG should have Medium AP
>Blocking explosions with the Ballistic Shield should absorb the damage and keep the player planted in place (not ragdoll); getting hit from the flanks act as normal
>Breaker should get a damage nerf
>Enemy weakpoint damage should be raised (slightly)
>Drop Heavy armored units directly on center-top of the map in Automoton Eradicate mission.
>Put a reward debuff for repeated completion of a specific mission type too many times in close succession
>Double Spear damage
>Reduce Orbital Strike Cooldown from 100sec-> 80sec
>Have 2x stacks of the damage over time effect for flame/gas damage with repeated exposure to those sources (effectively doubling their lingering damage output)
>Stalkers need to frick right off quicker when they have half a goddamn magazine dumped into them before combing you to death
awful takes
>That constant fiddling to make it actually lockon
I HATE THE SPEAR I HATE THE SPEAR I HATE THE SPEAR
nta, but yeah.
I dunno. It could absolutely use a bit of fixing, but it's not entirely worthless once you get used to it either.
i thought this clip was gonna be awesome based on the first 10 seconds, then i became sad.
poor spear
you already get tank/hulk drops at the top in defence mission sometimes
>free defense against a 1-shot kill from a long distance, friendly fire, and general surprise attacks is shitter
Decent takes
those are some very shitty takes son
I think if they changed railgun ammo from 20 to 10 it would be a lot more balanced.
One good rocket to a charger's butt should kill it, like in HD1.
good takes, iffy on the pen changes
LMG already has medium pen too
>takes
You're an old man complaining that the young people use newfangled words.
>Bullet Airstrikes/Orbitals should strip armor/shields off targets where it's possible
>Light AP should strip Medium Armor after a set amount of damage dealt to that specific source, and Medium AP should do the same for Heavy Armor
I think the Railgun should stay as is
however it should be a random map spawn just like the break-action shotgun and other support weapons are. Just refund people that 10k req and move on
Is the break action even good?
not really, there is not strat to get one, so you can only get them in game if lucky and also that it has only 2 shells when you pick it up so you either have to resupply or carry ammo pack to make it work...
it's a primary weapon for your support slot, so it's absolutely the worst thing you can carry there.
Actually thats a really good idea. Make it so you can't re-arm it with the resupply and its in a perfect position as a get out of jail free card.
Also buff the break action god that was disappointing.
Wait there's a fricking break-action?
I was wondering what that anon earlier was talking about.
Yeah it's a random map spawn, it's pretty shit though
You're fricking moronic. I'm glad you are shitposting here instead of designing games.
The only thing the game needs is more options, more strategems, armors, weapons, and shit to spend samples on.
>Personal Shield Generator, or whatever the frick they call it, is a surefire way to out a shitter.
They hated him because he told the truth
tied for best backpack in the game. you being a contrarian Black person doesn't make it any less strong.
Hes right in the sense that sacrificing a strategem to protect yourself doesnt help clear threats.
except a dead diver does 0 damage. post a solo tier 9 non eradicate/hive clear deathless. Even if you could theoretically get that picture, you couldn't do it reliably.
you stand in the red in mmos, guaranteed.
>solo tier 9
Opinion discarded. If you play Helldivers solo, you are playing wrong. I clear 40 minute missions on Helldive deathless occasionally. Its not like you aren't allowed to die. You have 20 lives, homosexual.
I accept your concession. please refrain from spouting moronation like
>shield isn't good
ever again
No one said the shield wasn't strong. We said it was shitter bait. You don't need a shield.
>implying mmos aren't about maximizing dps
>implying mmo players are using things other than just getting the frick out of the way in order to avoid dying
literally skill issue. the slot you take up for the shield is a slot that could be used for more effectively solving a situation that you would want the shield to save you from in the first place. also if you take the shield backpack on a -1 strategem mission you will truly feel how bad things really are
>Double Spear damage
it doesnt need a damage buff, it just needs to fricking lock when i want it to
and also boost the range so you dont have to basically be in titan puking range
>it doesnt need a damage buff
>Reduce Orbital Strike Cooldown from 100sec-> 80sec
It's noticeably better for mass hordes but not enough to take it over the breaker i found out
if you're taking spray and pray over the normal breaker its just a downgrade straight up, maybe you'll clutch a scenario where you're being swarmed by 50 scavengers but anything with even the slightest bit of armor will wreck your shit
it also says its birdshot, so no pen
>much bigger mag capacity in exchange for no penetration
doesn't it actually say it has light but doesn't work?
I like the autocannon but it doesn't feel really great. It's good at clearing higher end chaff like the armored warriors and I think it wasn't too shabby with devastators with shields (or without), but it's not RR/EAT/Railgun tier. The recoil makes it so you can get 1 maybe 2 shots on the rear of a charger. It is nice how fast it is to reload though.
I want biles/chargers to have a weak spot on top if you break it open, so you can Johnny Rico em.
>Railgun require backpack
Given any other high end gear requires it if they require ammo, I agree. Rest is too much to line by line so I'll disagree.
Autocannon really needs a better ADS optic
A lot of the reticles are way too busy in order to fit some weird "scifi" theme. See the AMR scope.
You'll find in higher difficulties that the laser drone pulls a lot of patrols you'd rather let pass on by.
Anti Material Rifle is really underrated vs bots, as it can deal with everything that isn't a tank but 2 impacts to the top can destroy them ffs.
>firing my arc gun over and over
>huh, you can get away with only small charges when you're swarmed, I wonder when I need to reload
>never reload or overheat once during the entire mission
Is it just an infinite ammo gun? I was using it with the portable energy shield, but the laser guard dog sounds like flashlight heaven.
>tfw no one else is ever using the flashlight gun
>no one to Imperial Guard with
Bolters--I mean Breakers are for wheenies
I'm trying to get the lasrifle
it's good, play it smart and you never need to reload, but if a situation forces your hand you've got 6 total "Ice packs" for cooling.
good range, consistent beam with fairly low heat buildup, pops the heads off devastators, and cooks bugs in equal measure.
Just a great all-rounder workhorse, like the God Emperor intended.
I'm actually getting it because of Battletech
good for you anon
Which guard dog do you recommend? The laser one or the rifle one?
laser has a little less damage for way more uptime. Both of them come with the occasional risk of shooting you in the head at point blank.
manmade horrors beyond comprehension
meant for
laser guard dog has straight up killed me more than once. it just does not give a frick it will rake your head with its laser if you're between it and an enemy
If you get swarmed just jetpack away.
i remember posting that this was the meta a week ago and people told me i was a fricking moron
anyway railgun is not overpowered it's that the other specials are too situational or too underpowered to be consistently useful
railgun isn't actually that useful compared to the utility offered by other shit on lower difficulties, it's only spammed because when the big problem creators get spammed as well in higher difficulties, the only real solution to avoid getting countered instead of being the one countering them, is the railgun. so in higher difficulties, utility loses priority on your support weapon in favor of doing one thing really well
don't ask me how to fix this
>how to fix this
Increase charge time between 0 and 50% when using unsafe mode. Add more anti heavy armor support weapons or fricking fix the spear. Make it possible to disable heavy units like blowing the arms off a hulk. Something like
>blast a leg off a bile titan
>it falls but shakily gets up trying to rebalance on legs
>it moves slow and akwardly and if it uses the bile spit, it falls over mid spray
For chargers
>blast off a back leg, no more charges
For bot tanks
>blow up treads, no more movement, machinegun on the front becomes almost useless so a bot pops out of the top to come shoot at you
Bots could also use a fast moving intercept unit.
Spot on, everything else just feels like a handicap, especially on higher difficulties. Hope to frick they don’t nerf it and instead just buff the shit out of everything else
The MAAWS reload is extremely fast if you have someone else wearing the backpack. Makes it a poor fit for pubbies, unfortunately.
But anyone can do chaff clearing, it's a non-issue. That's what primaries are for.
Machine Gun + Impacts + Jet Pack + revolver
I never use my primary and I can kill anything within 2 seconds except for Hulks.
>Game tells you how many bugs were killed
>Doesnt tell you how much damage was done
>Or how many special bugs were killed
>Or how much each player spent on objective time
Lame
with so much chaos it'd be hard to quantify objective time
You could count bug holes closed, screens "progressed", objective items delivered, etc.
How fricked are we when the Illuminate show up?
Ok what is the fricking deal with the Spear? Do you have to use it in ADS for consistent locks? Or does someone NEED to spot the target and call it out? I love the weapon but it is fricking fickle.
My humble theory is that the fog is interfering with targeting somehow. I never have trouble locking on when there is no fog.
It should be like the TOW missile from battlefield so you can arc it into weakpoints for 1shots
Here's your (You), good job
You did your part
I'll play it in a month if the malware is removed and it survives FOTM status
Fug the bugs. I'd rather be at the fricking Creek
>friend blows me off a hill onto the beach 200 feet away
>negligible damage
>jump off a big ass mountain and cushion the blow with my neck
>no damage
>jump 10 feet off a rock
>a third of my health bar
Helldiver armour clearly has all the padding in the upper body
Finally a good thread, Snoys shouldnt be allowed to post on this site
>participation trophy
>for people who weren't participating at the time
>and they still have to earn it
What the frick are you talking about? You're the one who wants a reward for playing at a specific point in the game's lifespan. You want literal participation trophies.
You know who you are
I need a C-01 form for......reasons
eagle 1 is anal only so no c-01 needed
Post lobbies gays.
has super credits finding been nerfed?
I'm still absolutely rolling in them and I haven't seen a patch roll out.
nope, did 2 trivial missions trying out the scorcher and just fricking around and got like 80 in 20 minutes
where are the gta like discords for super credits ?
>teammates kills me with stratagem by accident
>think nothing of it and respawn, 30 seconds later before shuttle lands host & i die to the same teammate
>we respawn, host & i die instantly again to that teammate's stratagem
>respawn, shoot one bullet on him and he says sorry and emotes several times
>we make up and extract right before the time limit
>get to the ship
>host kicks me
will those preorder armors ever be available to the people that didn't buy in? i like that blue helmet and wanna mismatch it with a bunch of my armors. will we ever get akimbo deagles/revolvers?
I voluntarily kick myself after the third team kill, some of these Black folk are straight up brain dead but I already know what they're thinking of doing so I beat them to it.
>level 20 finally
>get arc thrower and rail gun
>things become a little easier
alrighttt
I still love my autocannon
more ammo
more slash
more testosterone
>b-but muh meta
Only cowards only use the Guaranteed Success kit.
buff armor pen pls. so many fricking chargers.
>Gas
>Napalm
>Minefields
>EAT Rockets for some reason
>4 friendly fire incidents but hundreds of dead bugs
found my favorite AOE spam build, though I wish dickheads would stop complaining about having to wait a couple seconds for gas and fire to leave as everything dies
Tell those morons that gas and napalm is bugged and doesn't affect teammates.
THE JUMP PACK'S COOLDOWN TIME NEEDS TO BE LOWERED
cooldowns need to be 3 minutes at most tbh
first game's jump boost was like every 2-3 seconds. i want to jump around
it's weird they don't let you just simply do that
>just realized it's called steeled veterans cause they're amputee vets with cybernetic arms
>lose your legs to a 500 kg eagle
>"your injury is not service related"
We don't use the term "amputee". These days we say "battle hardened". Please try to be more respectful to the heroes who did their part
For the longest time I thought he was the reporter from Klendathu. I also didn't realize that the flash forward was a flash forward
>has robotic arm
>doesn't have robotic legs
???
A man with no hands can't work. A man with no legs can just roll around everywhere
i'd rather have arms and no legs than legs and no arms
he takes those off to frighten the normies.
in the book this guy has a much less clunky and robotic version of his prosthetics that he uses when he's not at the office. He only has the bulky looking ones on because he wants to make sure anyone signing up for the mobile infantry really wants it
Neat
In the movie he has a bulky prosthetic because it has to fit over an existing hand.
This shouldn't be a thing.
is killing these fricks rng?
>3 shots to kill them
>sometimes 1 shot
>majority of the time it takes 15
I know you have to shoot near the mouth but it doesn't work
A lot of shit in the game feels like it varies to a high degree, not when playing solo though. Some netcode shit might be causing damage to register differently depending on the latency between all the players.
It's the forehead, not the mouth. Also don't do unsafe, it's bugged right now. You'll do more damage on safe.
i have not one shot a hulk in unsafe mode with the railgun. i have one shot many hulks with the railgun in unsafe mode. is this an issue specifically with it being LITERALLY bugged vs the bile titan?
meant i have not one shot a hulk in safe mode, frick
once saw a fresh spawn titan die to orbital laser in 1 second
Railguns can do damage to bile titans through their armor but they won't 1 shot even on a headshot, that one was clearly 99% dead (you can see from all the green blood covering it)
You can see it spawn in my video
Here's proof. This isn't rare, I 1-hit about 5-6 titans in that mission alone.
There is no singular entity in this game more terrifying than a turret
Is this actually a Starship Troopers thing or just very, very similar in almost every way?
the game is basically a hodgepodge of random scifi shit
>pelicans (their actual name) from halo
>automatons are literally just ripped right out of terminator
>terminids are a mix of arachnids from starship troopers and tyrannids
>some armor sets are just storm troopers, ACTUAL storm troopers, snow troopers and scout troopers
>the yet to be seen illuminate are just the protoss
Oh, so there's bots too. People only ever post webms of the bugs.
It sounds neat, but multiplayer games aren't my thing.
>He hasn't seen the videos of people sitting on vantage spots getting bukakked from all sides by botblasts.
Oh anon you're in for a treat.
It's Hell out there.
>Oh, so there's bots too. People only ever post webms of the bugs.
there are currently a lot of memes about Malevolon Creek, a planet under automaton control that everyone treats like it's Vietnam war
a webm i saw from one of those memes that convinced me to buy the game almost single handedly
There's also Protoss-like aliens that use energy shields and shit, but they aren't in Helldivers 2 yet.
It's like Starship Troopers when you're fighting the bugs and like the Skynet War when fighting the bots.
It's just similar, particularly when fighting the bugs.
There is currently a co-op game with the license, Starship Troopers Extermination. It's pretty good but it's early access at the moment and it's aiming for a more sim-like experience.
Mobile infantry made them the helldivers they are today.

Buy an ad.
>b-buy an ad so we can get our hotpockets
lol dilate mods
who else got the medic suit with the +2 stims?
how do major orders work? I just started playing the other day and I swear it's been 5/8 since I first launched the game.
It's community-wide, don't stress about it.
It's extremely autistic about its parameters. Ideal setup in my experience look a bit like:
>target at the longest range you can manage
>target 90% unobstructed
>no dust or other particle effects in between you and target
>likes it when targets are tagged by anyone including you
>prefers targets be below the operator, hates it when they're above
>sometimes, it just doesn't feel like working today even when you do everything right
Campaigns are entire planets, fill the blue bar before the red one by completing operations on a community-wide scale
Operations are a collection of missions in a region, do them all to get bonus medals
Missions are the actual objectives you select
For this major order you can do your part by going to bot space, picking a planet that says DEFEND and completing operations (not just missions), difficulty doesn't matter but the evacuation missions are still gigafricked even on trivial, so go up to easy or medium so people can carry you with better guns
>get teamkilled right at the end of a battle
>respawn in while other randos are regrouping and resupplying
>as Im doing the same, activate an eagle strata in prep for the next nest right beside us
>host kicks me
I can only assume he thought I was going to airstrike everyone else in retaliation for myself getting TK'd, but now I wish I did. That was the last mission I needed to hit level 10. Whatever frickers I had all the samples from that run
And then for absolutely no reason the rocket launcher is only a one use weapon despite more powerful stuff having plenty of ammo
It's because you can call in two every ~60 seconds. Picking up a fresh one is faster than reloading, EAT is honestly great.
I hope they fix what happens when you shoot drop ships down. It's so fricking lame. The ship disappears, non of the bots die and then the ship flies in from offscreen and explodes. Every single fricking time.
Fun fact the ship still has a hitbox when it flies in from the side, it can kill you if you're in the way
>destroy the research lab
>two level 5s stand around the fricking hellbomb as it explodes
They're like children, you have to teach them.
Thats why whenever I have a no mic low level player follow me around while I hit every POI I will shoot and detonate the hellbombs embedded in the ground. Its the only way they'll learn.
Laugh at them. This is the learning experience they need to become real Helldivers.
>Ally calls in a hellbomb
>Walks off
>Silly goose forgot to arm it
>Walk up to it
>Wait why can't I arm it
>Oh n-
I remember when I first saw a hellbomb. It was so fricking cool. I wasn't even mad that I died.
668311971
mad cuz bad
Why are level 10 and under allowed in diff 5+?
it's fine if they have a brain and bought the right stratagems, the issue is that you're utterly starved for money at that point so it's easy to buy dumb shit and waste your limited funds. honestly, it's fine as long as they just have eats and probably airstrike, and you're not bringing them to the cooldown cucking missions
It's the scientist extraction missions
NO PVP, NORMALgayS. YOU WON'T EVEN PLAY IT ANYWAY
What dif to mindlessly collect Pois?
Did quickplay break again? I'm suddenly unable to find a game.
Damn, I just solo'd the pistol only achievement and that's what caused it.

WEAPON WISHLIST
>more smgs, the thinking mans weapon (p90 needed)
>some sort of bolt-action, with high armor pen at the cost of low mag/ammo capacity
>a drilling as a straight upgrade of the break-action
>more energy weapons
>gun-variants that do freezing to match the explosive/fire we have
what else besides the already confirmed silenced?
I'll have one melee weapon please.
The experimental saber from HD1.
Gunslinger revolver
Dual pistols
a sword
a power fist of democracy
autocannon guard dog
grenade launcher guard dog
mg guard dog
arc thrower guard dog
flamethrower guard dog
sawed off double barrel secondary
sticky grenade launcher
incendiary grenade launcher
a jump pack that boosts you forward and up into the enemy weaponizing your ragdolled body
a democracy sized buzzsaw that the hulks use
flamer variant that spits fireballs like that one weapon from FNV
A cryo flame thrower would be neato. Less damage but way more CC. Maybe even give other kinetic weapons a little buff when they strike semi-frozen targets because they are brittle. Nice supportive weapon.
A hammer of dawn call stratagem you can point and burning enemies like ants under a magnifying glass with an orbital laser.
A sticky bomb launcher that will attach to any surface or enemy and is triggered with secondary fire.
shoulder mounted shotgun would be uhmmm pretty poggers tbqh...
>return of the M2016
>dress uniforms
Ohhhh yeah, that'd be the stuff.
Very good utility.
is it a magazine based weapon?
>and it takes about a full magazine to kill a hulk, tank, or cannon tower by shooting the rear vent.
if you mean detachable magazine then yes
i thought since it was energy it was heat based
i think that's just for laser weapons
how many mags does it have in total?
No, it's energy because it fires exploding plasma balls, but it still uses magazines. Decent amount of ammo - I'd call it closer to a battle rifle than a bolt-action like the other anon did. Still my favorite weapon for the utility it brings.
that's actually a really good idea when it comes to laser weapons, so much so that it feels like a no brainer with how they should have functioned.
but yes, breaker is actually fine, it's just that there's something holding most of the other weapons back from occupying a role properly.
I'd like a vehicle call down, a 2 seater hoverbike so you can ride around the map faster.
They had a motorcycle with sidecar in HD1. You could even upgrade it to have a machine gun for the passenger.
Yeah just limit it with gas and ammunition, so you can't cheese the shit out of everything. The game's AI can't even deal with people sprinting around, a fast bike would probably be broken for the most part if it wasn't limited.
A space AK. Slow, high damage assault rifle
>YEHS, FOUR DEH-MOE-CRAH-ZEE COWM-RAD
such a shame this game was absolute dogshit on arrival. Vermintide 2 at least had a complete game that they then added on to, darktide just had literally nothing, and years later the game is almost SORT OF what it should have looked like on release, when vermintide was getting new content
Give me one more fricking strategem slot.
>big fat battle rifle
>that might mean the old Justice
>or it might mean a big chunky WW2 or cold war battle rifle
>both is good, point is something full caliber that hits as hard or harder than the DMRs with semi-controllable full auto
>rifle grenades as a weapon upgrade or grenade choice, a shittier pocket EAT tied to your primary
>bayonets so that stabbing POI scouts in the ass to loot quietly is more viable than needing repeated melee strikes as it is now
>return the Rumbler, let me fire it both direct and indirect, let it smash fabricators and bug holes from the outside like a Spear, keep the gas and the ability to effectively top attack tanks
>bring back Bastion and give it a couple extra seats with less important but still usable self defense weapons to complement the main gun+coax, or at least have tank riding slots for your +2
>a light exo/power armor for living out novel and OVA Starship Troopers fantasies
Give
I want a big AMR.
>must be prone or braced by ally to use standing
>absolutely fricks heavy armor but with a slow rate of fire and insane recoil recovery
>frick all ammo but no support pack
A crossbow you can call in a stratagem with and then shoot it to pin the beacon to the enemy
also it's silent
Eagle-chan...<3
it's a shame that eagle chan has mega cancer from the fluids we submerge her in
The DMR should be closer to the AMR in power/penetration and the AMR should be closer to the Autocannon (sans AoE).
So do you guys ads or zoom 3rd person?
Depends how much accuracy I need and how fast I need to move.
Not sure why this game is third person when you have to ADS. Its so jarring
>have to
anon you know you can change that so its ads or you just zoom in the target in 3rd person right?
I aint fiddling around in menus man, this is just how it is.
Black you change it by holding down the right thumb stick lol
>Playing a shooter on a gamepad
>In 2024
Wow, I didnt think these creatures actually existed
Inject oxygen, elitist homosexual
i use the amr but don't ads. i kinda just use the barrel to aim and hope i land my shots. it's pretty potent when bugs and bots are up close and the amr sounds cool when i magdump.
Hipfire 90% of the time so if I'm zooming its probably to use a scope anyway.
Its extraordinarily disorienting. It'd be nice if they added a first person mode as an experiment with basically no bells or whistles. Being swarmed by bugs in first person sounds like a lot of fun.
ADS. It stimulates my old Metal Gear instincts.
>45 HOURS IN

You mean I don't have to dive when I'm on a firing perch and pray to god I don't go careening off the edge?
>Needs to require a backpack to use it, frankly
It'd still be a better option than the crew serviced weapons and all you do is even further sideline the backpack gear in favor of armor defeating weapons that are completely mandatory.
HOW THE FRICK DID YOU PASS HELLDIVER TRAINING?
THERE IS A GODAMN KILL ROOM WITH 2 GATLING TURRETS THAT TURN YOU INTO HAMBURGER IF YOU DON'T CROUCH
Nah I'd dive.
Not that guy but the game tells you how to dive not how to prone
>He didn't dive
And you call yourself a Helldiver.
/spit
Chunky boy mechs when
>Recoilless Rifle
>Takes a backpack to reload
>Extremely slow reload if not with a teammate
>Single-shot before reloading
>Deals mediocre damage
The Recoilless should one-shot chargers with a hit to the face, two-shot hulks from the front and 3-shot Bile Titans. Its completely outclassed in every way by the railgun right now
Should one-shot hulks if you hit the eye slit.
What module should I invest in? The Eagle based one seems kinda good.
I don't really have a preference on which strategems to use so
Eagle's best by far. Power steering is quietly very good as well but the upgrades preceding it are quite mediocre. I'll probably pick up the sentry ammo one next. It seems quite good on paper.
Warbond Medals should be awarded for completing objectives and destroying hives/factories
Game shouldnt need 5 premium currencies to functon tbh. Just give me one resource that works on everything
Theres only 1, and you also get that in game.
Only issue is how they dish it out. We're flooded with requisition slips, medals are a blanket participation award, and super credits are RNG. There is no reward for performance.
i'd argue samples are since extracting is often harder than the rest of the mission
>medals for battle pass progression
>requisitions for stratagem progression
>xp for leveling up
>3 DIFFERENT KINDS OF RESOURCES JUST FOR UPGRADING THE SHIP
I dont want five different currencies just give me one this is so pointlessss
That isn't 5 premium currencies
Using words you don't really mean is anti-Democratic
I think you personally ascribe premium to mean real world money but no defenition of preimium actually means that
This term is ubiquitous in the industry and has been for years. Everyone knows what a premium currency in gaming is and you're being a gay little weasel.
>"there are 5 premium currencies"
>gets told he doesn't understand basic english
>"resorts to adhom"
a tale as old as time, the american esl...
You used a word that doesn't mean what you were implying you moronic 3rd worlder. Make a better argument or go take your bitter dickless autism elsewhere.
you're a fricking idiot, "premium currency" has ALWAYS meant currency you can/have to pay for
Sorry but I was born in 91 before games had such things in them. Premium by definition has no relation to that and can easily be defined as separate currencies.
"sorry but i dont play videogames" awesome anon thanks for posting on the videogame board!
Also 91 here
Premium currencies means paypig currencies
>I'm old so I refuse to learn anything new
Alright then, what makes the 5 currencies in HD2 premium?
They are premium because of the way that they are.
So what you're saying is using premium as a prefix for currency is redundant?
the ship upgrades are pretty much lategame right now in terms of how they change your ability to survive on difficulties 8 and 9
This.
Having 50% cooldown reduction for 110m hellpods and my sentries would make diff 7 and above boring. Right now this shit is bonkers great BECAUSE there is a lot of different things you need to do to be effective as a Diver.
There's only one premium currency, anon, and you can get it by playing the game normally.
>waah waah I don't get enough of the free premium money from the free warbond and missions
You literally pick that shit up off the ground, do more exploring.
YOU DON'T GET IT! IT'S SARCASM HAHA THEY'RE MAKING FUN OF THEMSELVES WITH ALL THE DIFFERENT CURRENCIES HAHAHAHAHA
>Requisition for Strategems
>Samples for Upgrades
>Medals for Warbond Progression
>Super Credits for the store
Seems pretty cut-and-dry to me.
actual schizo post
>44% of the Swedish Game Industry's new hires were women in 2023
>People see this and think it means Arrowhead hired 220 women
Where did the reading comprehension go?
even a single woman can destroy a whole company anon
What if they're Amy Hennig and the write / direct absolute gems like Legacy of Kain?
that's a dead game
I think it balances the game out. If you play the game, and explore, you get medals, samples, SC, and credits all in decent amounts, vs the idiots that are spamming eliminate missions will be lvl 50 and have all the medals, but won't have any SC or samples to upgrade anything past the base.
Completing assignments on higher difficulty should contribute more war credit.
>Getting ragdolled while holding an orbital/eagle drops it

>About to toss an orbital laser
>Rocket blows me back by like 20 meters
>Orbital laser does not care, destroys the threats anyway
Thanks Super Destroyer!
>about to call in glorious eagle strike
>team mate danger closes a cluster bomb strike right on top of us
>drop the marker when I get knocked down
>pilot gives no shits and drops the strike right on top of me anyway
am I supposed to not be able to connect right now?
>Dodge a charger
>He spins on a dime and does a 120 degree turn to hit me anyway
Starting to hate these homies almost as much as I do the suicide jetpack robots
I want them to add gigabugholes where you have to climb down into them
>Gigamaze of bug tunnels every which way, no room to maneuver and and if you alert them they come at you from every direction
>Machineguns more useful because you can send a hose of bullets down a passage and riddle anything coming up it
>Pitch black, weapons with torches worth their weight in gold
>Stratagems fricking disabled, no 500kg bombs 4 u
And just imagine all the kinds of missions we could get
>Scientist got lost in a bug tunnel, escort him out
>Carry this hellbomb all the fricking way down there and blow it to kingdom come, requires two men to carry it
>Hunt the queen, find the gigantic cavern with a fat ass bug the size of a bile titan buried deep underground
And you could do something similar to the robots except a densely built industrial world with warrens of subways and ventilation shafts.
That would be sick. I'd also really like urban maps like in hd1
>try diff 5 scientist evacuation 3 times
>fail 3 times with under 20 rescued
What am I doing wrong? I'm bring EAT, Autocannon, tried both Breaker and Defender, tried different sentries, Eagle Airstrike & Cluster, etc.
I'm level 13 atm so no personal shield or railgun yet
Im simply not returning to the bot side of the map until they fix their over tuned content.
I tried to get them to play DRG in the past and it was an uphill battle to even get a group of 3.
>go back to using liberator after sluggin it up for a while
holy shit bros its so fricking efficient god damn it how can i use anything else
Did they up the turning radius on chargers? I used to be able to ¡OLE! them, now they seem far more nimble and love to just side-slap me.
Give me back my sickle, it was a good alternative to the breaker in the first game.
i loved that thing
Is this one of those games where leftists act holier than thou and insert shit.
direction brained homosexual
Yes, intro movie has interracial couple and everyone on your ship is a Diversity hire.
i heard it was rng if you roll full nog crew or not. is this true?
>obsession with blacks will literally cause some homosexuals to not play something they might enjoy
if you hate them why do you let them influence your enjoyment of something like this
No, they're all DEI/ESG hires all the time.
The crew isn't black, they've got Caucasian features and brown skin. Seem almost like placeholder people.
Getting tired of people saying everyone on their ship is all black crew, what the frick does being black mean anymore if simply having dark skin makes you black.
>I sat in the sun too long...
>no...NOOOO
the mental image of this made me laugh so fricking hard
Well now the parables to space detroit make a lot more sense.
no one talk about the easy medal farm
they might patch it
Everybody knows about the easy medal farm. They're the scourge of the war effort because they keep forfeiting operations, which counts as a win for the enemy. They also shit up the quickplay for anyone who wants to do real missions rather than be a 24/7 defense shitter.
Do we got a discord going? I'm new
go away
No I already saw you. I've imprinted. You're my new mommy and have to raise me.

ANY LOBBIES???
Prompt??
Holy frick the SPEAR is garbage. Slow as frick reload, piss all ammo, requires a backpack AND lockon and it doesn’t even 1shot heavies, legitimately what the frick are they thinking with the support weapons. They need to buff everything but the railgun
I'm convinced they only tested the railgun out in safe mode.
Orbital rail strike one shots chargers and two shots bile titans if thats what you're looking for
just chuck a 500kg marker on them like a chad so you can kill two bile titans back to back
orbital rail cannons will soften up bile titans enough to die to an impact grenade, a cluster bomb or a couple GL shots. it seems really random, though.
I’m aware, was more commenting about support weapon balance
Dont talk about my wife like that. All she needs is the inconsistent targetting fixed.
>hit charger in face with spear
>it does a cartwheel
>hit bile titan in face with spear
>it folds into itself
Aim/position better.
Stop buying FOTM
You should wait atleast a year to play a game if not then you are a shitty redditor
>You should be bitter and jaded like me
>buy game
>have fun now
>year later
>have fun again
Im buying Dragons Dogma 2 at launch, same with EDF6. Its not about buying something because its new, its more about knowing what you like.
>Eagle-1 is getting all this art and shit
>no art of Spritefall waifu
Many such cases, sad
Getting real tired of every Automaton quickmatch dumping me in a shitty Defense farm group.
>people have started asking my hours because im high level and i assume they're paranoid im an Eradicate farmer
i dont understand the point of doing eradicate spam.
It's for shitters who want to progress their warbond fast without actually getting good. Nothing's gated past level 20, so there's no reward for leveling up after that beyond titles.
fast medals, done in 2-3 mins, lots of levels, and money to spend on things you get from those levels. hits three things at once, a farmer's wet dream. and there's a lot of farmers
yeah you gotta host your own shit against bots or you're going to be sad. bug quickplay is night and day
i know i play games more than most other people but i already have everything unlocked and im 30 rares from maxing out the ship upgrades just from playing for 90 hours. id have gotten it done today if i didnt lose 100s of samples playing solo 8s
If they made it so you had to kill like 300 or even 400 bots/bugs I don't think people would be spamming those missions as much. Right now they're just way too easy to finish.
>play on 9
>turret everything to shit
>get paid fat fricking dollars
>NOOOOOOOOOO YOU'RE NOT PLAYING THE GAME CORRECTLYYYYYYYYYYYY
Haha warbond go brrrrr
you can manually select online lobbies in the planet mission selection screen when it works
Stop with the pvp bullshit, not every game needs that to still relevant
What im actually agree is the inclusion of vehicles, i would to pilot a tank or a warhog type of car and kill bugs
How the frick would it even be balanced? The game wasn't at all designed around it.
I know it's problem not exclusive to helldivers but I am really fricking sick of people who keep their mic perpetually on.
>rando joins in
>hear everything in double + dog barking + tv on +fan going + family arguing + child crying + cars honking
If only fragging them would shut them up I wouldn't have to go into menus and boot them out in the middle of the firefights they start by shooting every patrol the second they land.
ive been very lucky, i havent encountered any of these types of people yet. but i obviously encountered them every single match in cod
Not a problem on PC with cross-play off
Everyone has their mic off
Open mic being the default setting was a HUGE mistake
>PSN Black folk having open mic was a mistake
This doesn't happen anywhere near as much if you turn off crossplay
Fighting the machines are the missions where helldivers casuals are divided between the veterans.
This is like the fifth big breasts art I've seen of this game. Does this game have fat breasts?
I wish. and I wish I could have the ass of a female spartan from halo reach
Is this game in a literally playable state now?
As long as you have someone to party with. Matchmaking doesn't work 99% of the time
They upped the server capacity to 700k and fixed quickplay. I haven't had a queue in a while.
Up to you whether a few crashes will frick up your enjoyment.
very playable. queue issue is gone. matchmaking breaks sometimes. some CTDs that will fill you with rage however.
>join pub on hard
>fellow diver with orange engi look grabs the recoilless rifle, so I grab his pack
>run around the map having fun adventures blowing up giant bugs with rapid fire shelling and orbital strikes/eagles
>fist bump after nuking bile titan
Comfy.
having a loader for the autocannon with a horde charging you is some of the most satisfying shit in the game. You can dump the whole pack in probably 20 seconds
How is the scythe laser rifle?
people say its shit, it doesn't ~feel~ like shit though. the redditor who did weapon testing forgot to test it and it makes me mad.
It's awesome vs bots. Just hold it on their heads and they die very quickly.
Kinda funny that everyone draws Eagle chan with hair when everyone in Helldivers requires being bald.
Anyone else have a patrol spawn directly on them?
Always
It happened to me for the first time, was sneaking up to a bug outpost and 15 bugs just pop in around me. Ended up panic calling an orbital strike on my position and diving down the cliff.
Eagle 1 loves me the most
Her cool down didn't exist in this last run so she was my primary weapon
I'm defending and defending. Why are we still losing ground?!
Because the people farming defense missions abort their operations to go do more defense missions, which counts as a victory for the bots.
Wtf is this true?
>You have to play the full 2 fricking hour operation or you contribute toward territory loss.
Aren't we fricked no matter what then?
We can fight as hard as we like, but there will always be more people just playing one match at a time, or switching servers mid-operation.
I do attempt them. I've failed 6 of them today when they were the last mission of the pub groups I joined
The fact that only this one specific mission type needs a very specific strategy that no other mission type needs (kiting) shows there's something wrong with that particular mission
>get friends instead of pubs
I've failed to convince my friends to play co-op games with me. Even the ones that ask me about HD2 never end up getting it
I think the problem with this major order is that it requires you to do a difficult, annoying mission type and the reward is shit. 12000 requisition slips, which you can get by doing like 3 missions on 6+ AND are also the least valuable currency in the game. If they're going to give us a major order like that at least make the reward worrth it
Did they remove the order/challenge where you're supposed to kill certain enemy types with a certain weapon?
I thought I was close to completing one when it disappeared and wasn't replaced with another.
I think the game starts with giving you one for the anti material rifle than moves onto a server one. That was the one i got and my friend got it when he started a few days ago.
Gotcha. I couldn't tell if I missed the deadline or got rewarded.
They were doing different ones like every day for a bit there (150 kills with gatling sentry, kill 20 scout walkers, etc.). I’m guessing we’ll get them back soon now that game is in a more stable state
Definitely would be way more concerned about doing it if the reward was 40-50 medals or something. For sure.
Correct
I have no use for them at this point and I've been playing really casually
I need medals
Feels like the devs could try to make that more clear moving forward. The orders just spam the word, "DEFEND" over and over.
The arc thrower has application but the rate of fire is what kills it.
>Charge
>Blast
>Doesn't stagger enemy
I used the Arc Thrower on 3 missions vs bots and bugs and i just don't understand it. Sometimes you shoot it and it kills 10 enemies, sometimes it doesn't do anything. Its either extremely good or terrible and i don't know which
You're telling me. Sometimes I can drop a buzzsaw bot in two shots, other times it feels like a tickle
The Arc thrower is good but it's bugged and literally cannot work if there's a corpse anywhere in front of you. Even if you aim past the body it just fizzles in mid air.
>brand new just joined
>didnt understand mission selection at first and picked a random one
>joined a lobby with level 50
>get insta-kicked
huh, let me try another random mission
>single level 50, insta-kicked again
Then I found out how to solo queue. But still, I was on the beginner difficulties. What were they expecting?
They're probably farming for supercredits and are too moronic to set a private lobby like you learned to
So when are they gonna drop a balance pass and buff 80% of the weapons/stratagems?
In addition, it’s also good for protecting against friendly fire and charger spam nerf chargers ffs arrowhead, it’s fine for them to be fast, strong and tanky but giving them an insane turn radius as well when they’re spammed on higher difficulties is fricking bullshit
bug breaches are absolutely bullshit when you have multiple chargers
>drop 500kg comb under titan
>does fricking nothing
>use orbital rail cannon on the titan
>just flinches him
can't believe i got memed into using these shitty ass stratagems
Is there a way I can grief players that are just spamming defense missions?
You could destroy all their turrets which will force them to actually play the game.
>Level 15 host playing on extreme difficulty with high levels carrying the missions
>We do pretty good
>Try to shake his hand at the end of the campaign
>Kicked
Can I just get a jerk off animation so I can jizz on people before I leave instead of trying to be a gentlemen and getting shit on for it?
I learned people don't notice the hand shake, but everyone goes for hugs
>jerk off animation
Spam the order/modifiers button and time it well
Ho
which stratagem cooldowns are shared between teammates? i know resupply is one. any others?
None come to mind. Though only 1 hellbomb can be on the ground at once.
orbital laser I believe, other than that nothing
Orbital laser is definitely not shared. I've had whole teams running it and had 4 lasers going during extract.
apparently the laser was shared for the first week or so but they changed it
Technically Reinforce too, I guess. You have a max number of lives as a team and once you're out it goes on a time limit, one at a time every 2 minutes. If everyone is dead at that point the mission is over (but if you have all the main objectives are finished, technically you still completed the mission and you get rewards, otherwise its a fail).
I really hope that fixing the armor buff makes heavy armor worth using.
The planetary defense numbers are entirely rigged. None of it matters.
Yeeeah, two or three campaigns in, that's when they'll just let it go naturally, just like last time.
ok how u kno?
>hugs all new recruits
This waifu is a prostitute. And artists really shouldn't bother writing when a type tool exists jesus christ.
xp farmers are fricking everything up.
>still learning the game, have just the basic weapons
>join a level 3
>3 level 50s as teammates
???
It turned out mostly fine but whatever their drone laser beam thing was kept instantly murdering me by shooting me in the back so that kind of sucked.
Play frontline, go either laser drone, jet pack shield and stand in front of everyone
Or alternatively play rear guard, but yeah same idea, shoot where your allies aren't,
what's the best way to find Super Credits?
Gen marker minor places on the radar. Glowy golden caches.
Frick the devs for even putting that shit in the game.
>frick the devs for giving a reasonable supply of it in-game rather than making it paid only
Reminder to suck it up and help with the defense orders before the ~~*bots*~~ take too many systems. Civ rescues can be done easily if you coordinate and aren't a complete shitter.
Nah. I don’t care about the reward whatsoever, I already have max req slips. As another anon said if it was medals that’d be a different story
She allways misses the vile giant, moronic fricking b***h.
Diff 7 bots steam://joinlobby/553850/109775242954758579/76561198044094085
I feel like such a fricking hero taking out a bot tank by myself while my teammates take cover and/or deal with infantry.
Bugs swarm you whereas Bots can lay down suppressing fire
The sheer amount of explosives bots have make them 10x harder.
Bile Titans and Chargers can easily be kited. Hulk Busters and Rocket Devastators do not give a frick what range you are at, they will one shot you from across the map.
>explosives bots
it's such bullshit that they still one shot you when wearing armors with the explosive damage reduction passive
trench medic needs to rotate back in already
Considering what the past 2 rotations have been I think it’ll be next
its back after the next shop update
>patreon for tracking helldivers store shit
lmao wtf Black person
please make heavy armor worth using 🙁
I think this will be a huge change to the game meta. Because as far as we know right now, armor does NOTHING. We very well might be playing at max difficulty compared to how it was supposed to be balanced.
>die in two rocket hits instead of only one
thats big
The only armor i know thag does anything is the one that comes with the super citizen purchase. i know because i accidently bouce grenade launcher shots back at myself and survive.
Isn't that because the perk on the armor is less explosive damage?
nah, it's the 50% chance to survive fatal damage. there's nothing unique about the pre-order and super citizen armors aside from looks. the super store has unique combinations of armor class and passives though. i'm pretty much waiting for trench medic cause 6 stims and fast speed.
Nope. Just straight up endure
>predorder armours
Wish I’d done that, I fricken love the heavy red and black one
>second smg locked behind the premium upgrade
>but its worse than the defender so it doesnt matter
I’m glad they did that tbh, could’ve very easily made it p2w but it’s pretty much the exact opposite kek.
>tfw heavy armor for helldivers works like heavy armor for enemies
>can only be killed by spewers, chargers, titans, rockets, hulks, and tanks
>can ignore everything else
would be great tbh
Good lord that’d be great
Why is this game so laggy? I have a 3060 and a i5 10400 and is still running at 25 fps when more than two particles appear on screen.
i have a 3060 and a ryzen 5 3600 and I'm getting 90fps on high on 1080p. update your drivers?
Drivers are updated, and i do get 60+ fps when everything is normal but drops to 25 when a thousand bugs appear on screen.
The auto cannon is perfect for bot scout stompers
I got the Federation Hero set and I'm never taking it off
It is the classiest set in the game. Only the super citizen one can compete.
Super Citizen is for ceremonies, Federation Hero feels like honor guard ready for action. Reminds me of Judge Dredd
I wish I had the blue pre-order armour.
Never heard of this game until the day it was released. That blue armour is my favourite shade of blue, and the only armour I've seen that comes close.
I don't care if it's considered lowbie trash, I wish I had it.
>can't see mission type or modifiers when joining from quickplay
It'd be fine if the game let you go back to the briefing screen but it hard locks you to the loadout screen
i wonder if medium armor would have a niche when the armor fix comes around. feels like people will either go all in on either speed or armor.
Depends how much it actually reduces damage.
There's a lot of good perks on medium, so much so I'm using them now.
If the damage is basically what it is now, I'll keep using it, if its less, then definitely going to use it. I'd only switch if somehow medium takes more damage.
>Graphic settings on mid
>Still having stutters
>16xx bros...
>no fomo
>pre-order armors
>twitch exclusive armor
fricking swedes
I love this flamethrower, but i always manage to set myself on fire. Fire resistant armor when?
>napalm airstrikes
>jetpack
>flamethrower
>incendiary breaker
>incendiary grenade
yep its time
Do you think people will start RP-ing as certain roles as more armor, perks, and stratagems are released? Like a designated medic
id hope, but i think people will also metaslave more as time goes on
I think the game encourages being able to take care of yourself a bit too much for that.
the problem is difficulty 7-9. at difficulty 6 you can just pick a role.
>95% of NPC voices are girlboss femoid bullshit
Frick this sucks. Its not even realistic since in the real world every female pilot is currently crashing 100 million dollar jets every other week. Realistically every 2nd or 3rd time I call in an airstrike the dumb b***h should accidentally crash her plane and kill herself.
They have gene editing technology, you can change your body however you want to
Mostly they're futa, especially eagle
Well as long as she crashes it into the bile titan
Nobody complained that the dropship pilot in Starcraft was female.
I wonder if anything else has changed in the last couple decades you dumb b***h
Clearly. For one, you've turned into a whiny frick who gets his panties in a bunch over the most trivial shit.
I dont want to hear the same Jennifer Hale-esque girlboss voice performance ive heard 1000 times before in the last 7-8 years constantly in my ear. Why is that a "hot take" as you metrosexual homosexuals say these days?
>metrosexual
jesus your head is still stuck in 06
Fr fr ong *fortnite dance*
Black person.
>he wants to nerf anything in a pve game
>he wants 0 difficulty in a pve game
No one is saying to buff the good stuff
Buff the bad stuff to the same level as the current good stuff
Then we can maintain the same difficulty while having more options
>supply pack doesn't reload stims
the dream is dead
But it does
Anyone try the JAR-5 Dominator? (final weapon on the premium warbond). I just unlocked it and it seems better than the shotgun to me. I can 1-shot devastators with ranged headshots, although the supposed medium armor pen doesn't seem any different than light. It still can't damage a Charger's legs or the front armor of a Hulk (even headshots)
I did. When I bought the battle chest in 1998 I told my entire class that it was white genocide
i picked german audio from the start and have no plans of changing it
