are you sure?
one of them could very well have been Deimos or Phobos
both Deimos and Phobos are too distant to really be seen as what we'd think of as a moon. Deimos would look like a star, and Phobos would look like a football shape about half the size of our Moon.
>is this worth playing as a friendless loser? >how well would this run on a 5700x, 6700XT and 32 gigs of ram? >how bad are the microtransactions? >is it just another flavor of the month shit everyone will forget about soon?
anon, it's first month is almost up. and it's held steady at 400k+ concurrent users on steam. they're not going to suddenly drop the game in 5 days especially when burgers are entering spring break.
New Warbonds drop each month (second thursday) with new weapons, armors, grenades, emotes, so on. Next major update (possibly also coming on the 14th) seems to be bringing a mech that you can customize and some vehicles. There's also a third faction, though we don't know when they'll be reintroduced.
No, but premium warbonds require using credits, where if you arent saving them or grinding could cost you money.
I actually hope they add something worth having in the next one, the warbonds so far just seem like gimmick stuff where the only reason to progress it is for the cool armours.

It seems reasonable to me for them to add less practical and more flashy shit in the premium warbonds(like the crappy incendiary weapons and armor) and keep the things everyone needs in the free pass, which they seem to be doing. My only problem is that there are some boosters and the senator in the premium, but then you can buy the premium with like 4 hours of credit farming.

Way less than that. I got 300 in 15 minutes.

>I actually hope they add something worth having in the next one,
If weapon leaks that we've seen are what's in the next warbond, it seems to be an energy/explosive one. A crossbow that fires explosive bolts, a shotgun that fires lightning, and a shotgun that fires plasma.
>>is this worth playing as a friendless loser?
I'm having fun, even though I know it'd probably be more fun with friends like everything else
t. friendless loser >>how well would this run on a 5700x, 6700XT and 32 gigs of ram?
Don't know about those but I have a 3060 12gb and I don't think I've noticed a single drop in frames, runs real well >>how bad are the microtransactions?
not bad at all, and you can very easily earn supercredits ingame, both playing normally and farming at a rate that's faster than you could buy them at minimum wage >>is it just another flavor of the month shit everyone will forget about soon?
I hope not, but I can't tell the future
there's definitely at least one more enemy faction coming Soon™ and possibly another, as well as vehicles so hopefully it will last a good while
>They're an active detriment to the experience
? They are more superfluous than any other game I've played. You wouldn't even notice if they weren't there, plus you get Super Credits in the game, you can even farm them quickly.
I have 2 friends who play but they have real lives so I play mostly with randoms, now that I'm up to diff 8 and 9 I play with people through discord when I have time to play for a few hours at a time. It's pretty fun.
Unlike FOTM games, the audience for this game has consistently grown since launch. That will eventually change, but it's an indication that it's not a typical FOTM that will fade. The devs are very dedicated, supported helldivers 1 til now, and they just made a shitload of money.
>>is this worth playing as a friendless loser?
Maybe if you solo queue in other games and have dealt with moronic randoms before >>how well would this run on a 5700x, 6700XT and 32 gigs of ram?
I have something similar to this but with a 6750xt. You're good. >>how bad are the microtransactions?
They're alright >>is it just another flavor of the month shit everyone will forget about soon?
Probably, you're near the end of it's reign
>>is this worth playing as a friendless loser?
i would say yeah but if you're playing all alone you'll get bored after about 50h >>how well would this run on a 5700x, 6700XT and 32 gigs of ram?
yes >>how bad are the microtransactions?
you can earn the premium currency just by playing the game and the rates are so agreeable that anons expect them to be nerfed hard >>is it just another flavor of the month shit everyone will forget about soon?
are you really going into a thread for fans of a specific game asking if that game is a fotm?
The game actually runs worst on the top end of AMD cards, some weird crashes exclusive to those, the lower your graphics settings the less often it happens but your card is never actually being pushed even on those highest settings. A driver update was specifically made to address this but it's not totally gone
I have a 7800XT and experienced one crash. I looked up a guide that said to downgrade gpu drivers and turn down a few settings and haven't had a single problem since.
I don't have any friends playing it but I've found some really good squads through random people joining during Quickplay. I've also found people who nuked our entire evacution zone just as the ship landed. Just kind of luck of the draw sometimes.
>>is this worth playing as a friendless loser?
If you can deal with randoms, you're probably fine. >>how well would this run on a 5700x, 6700XT and 32 gigs of ram?
I have basically the same set up but sub the 6700xt for a 2070Super. I run fine, you'll probably run just as good if not better. >>how bad are the microtransactions?
Complete non issue. You can collect the currency in game just by searching the map at a very good rate, you can get them in the free skilltree, and even then 90% of it is cosmetic and can be subbed out for other bits. >>is it just another flavor of the month shit everyone will forget about soon?
Either it's dead in a month or two by over saturation (see: Lethal Company) or its going to be a mainstay in gaming for a few years. Depends on how the devs handle it.
Yes. t. does most everything by himself.
It runs well enough on my 16gigs ram machine with a 3060, but it makes the fans spin real loud. I dunno about AMD.
I've completely ignored them so far and you probably can too.
Oh, for certain. Absolutely. But it's good and there's not many good coop games on the market at current so it'll probably be around for longer than other FotMs.
No game is dogshit solo, fun with friends and frustrating with random
If you have someone to play with then only buy it though i still hate that this is an online only live service
>No >Pretty good >Should be a f2p game, to much grinding >It's good with friends but yes it's a fotm because its a online only live service game and you have no guarantee how much life it has
>>is this worth playing as a friendless loser?
its genuinely crazy to me that most people don't solo queue in most games, apparently. just judging by these threads it seems a lot of people still have friends. pretty wild.
if you play any other co-op game solo this is no different
works on my machine from 2017
you can farm premium currency, I have about 80 dollaroos worth farmed in a day or two. even if you only play regularly you can easily get a premium warbond's worth of it in a month.
important thing is the premium armor/weapons are 99% shit and not worth it to begin with, so unless you want everything you can easily save your SC for the good stuff if it ever shows up
game will hold up as decently as the content updates allow it, but I would definitely expect it to drop consistently well below 100k in a few months at most. still extremely good for a co-op game
Yes, I do. Just let the game drop you as reinforcement in someone's else mission.
I run it without problem on a 2060 with 8go.
Haven't seen anything interesting in the shop yet.
Probably, even more reason to play it now while there is still players.
Is there any reason to use heavy armor at all, even with fortified perk and/or shield generator? My heavy armor is cooler looking, I don't want to wait 2 more weeks for the patch.
Armour doesnt work right now. It fricking sucks. Its why everyone is wearing the scout sets, because everything else is working except armour, no word on when its going to be fixed either, just that they are aware of it.
Cant even imagine what the game will be like with armour either, everyone has just gotten use to having this amount of health.
Dude I got to 80 fricking percent in Twitch before the last stream ended. I don't even give a shit about cosmetics, I'm just fuming that I was so close.
>collected my key weeks ago >couldn't claim it on steam because I didn't actually own the game
Only just bought the game last night and finally claimed it. I just wish the visor wasn't blue.
game needs:
military base hub world on mars
bugs AI tries to avoid flames
able to equip multiple emotes and select them from a wheel
ability to cash in excess requisition slips for super credits at a 1000:1 rate
jump pack gets 3 jumps before needing a recharge
grenades break armor
melee weapons
What are you going to do about it? Managed Democracy has already deemed feminids valuable allies and partners to Helldivers and formidable foes against the terminid (male) menace
They are buffing weapons but not in the way you think. You're either going to have to use Requisition (the currency you spend to buy strategems) or samples; they're bringing back the system they had in the first game. Oh, railgun is being "nerfed" but after the "upgrades", it'll basically be on par or slightly better than what we have now. Unupgraded will be worse though.
That's fine. We need more shit to grind for, and customizing your weapons functionality is fricking sweet. Hopefully, every weapon can get an armor piercing upgrade or something. That would be great.
Wonder how many of these are out in the wild? Haven't run into one online yet. Feels like I'm the only guy rocking it. I'm not even into HALO and I think it's neat
>muh halo
why though? conceptually it's unrelated to this game or the fantasy it creates. you'd think there'd be more references to starship troopers or 40k
The whole concept of a squad dropping down to a planet in pods was popularized by the ODST troops in Halo. They called themselves "Helljumpers," which 'Helldivers' is a play on.
ODST literally stands for Orbital Drop Shock Trooper. Well, except Helldivers aren't shock troopers but disposable cannon fodder.
ODSTs are elite solders dropped from orbit in small pods.
They are also called Helljumpers and they wear black armor, and their logo is also a skull.
>Super Earth eventually gets invaded >go into a rescue mission on the night side of the planet >land in a war-torn city map >rain weather effect blurs our squad's vision >slow jazz music plays in the distance
>super earth gets invaded >it's still random unstaffed research stations randomly scattered around a bunch of empty fields

There is an "urban ruins" map we havent seen yet that was found in the game files. Theres also something to suggest that there will be NPC fighters in a new objective, so instead of rescuing npcs that run to cover they stick around and fight and you have to keep them alive.

This is something that would be in a game from 1996 because of technical limitations, but would spawn tons of conspiracy theories and Youtube videos decades later.

I did not find anything related to urban maps in the files. The only planet type I dont think we have seen in "Paradise", and none of the zones say urban or city.
The only zones listed for Super Earth are agricultural, pic related. There are at least rebel NPCs confirmed.

True, capital defense should be returning. But there is an entire section for planet types and another section for the zones on the maps (POIs, landmarks, other shit in game). I didnt see any of them mentioning urban stuff.
I said "popularized" for a very specific reason. Today it is probably how most people were introduced to the concept.

Spess Mahreens are the face of orbital drops, no one gives a shit how your slightly different flavor of friendly grunts land in Halo. The dedicated ODST game has a single drop at the start, and it's not even an alien planet.

please please PLEASE have a nice day you fricking moron, the concept in fiction was round way before gaylo
Elite soldiers being orbital dropped into hostile territory
The whole concept of a squad dropping down to a planet in pods was popularized by the ODST troops in Halo. They called themselves "Helljumpers," which 'Helldivers' is a play on.
But wasn't that also just a thing in Starship Troopers? And other sci-fi war stories like Armor?
that's a stretch. Halo frigates still follow the dogma of a large gun with engines strapped to it where as super destroyers are orbital artillery platforms
true, but they are still visually similar at a glance >gray/black ship with "wings" in the back and a long extended prow at the front
I think the super destroyer is meant to look more like an actual gun than the halo's heavy frigates (despite arguably being more of a gun with the MAC cannon being the center of the vessel everything else is built around), like everyone's flying around in giant pistols that shoot the bullet-shaped drop pods at planets
I like to sometimes play level one missions by myself and pretend I'm part of the sanitation/sterilization crew. A chance to take in the scenery, and collect samples. Zap straggler bots with the arc thrower, and cleanse bugs with the flamethrower
Reminder that if you have a snoy host you can one shot bile titans with safe mode shots anywhere to the face, even hitting them on the plate above their nose is an instakill
>chargers dont die in 1 hit let alone 3 with the railgun >broodmother loses her head with 1 railgun shot but still fights on for a moment
youre telling me that the biggest bug in the game that is exclusively on higher difficulties is designed to die with one shot to the face?
>Angel's Venture >Defense Campaign >Escort fricking civilians
Comfortably did it on 7-Suicide with 3 people without the weasel strat. Bugs are so much easier for this mission it's such a relief.

How many more weeks of selling armor for real money that doesn't actually function as the advertised value says are we going to endure until they just remove armor value listings from the in-game store that is selling armor for real money?
>difficulty 2 >play missions and look for 2 or more SC drops close together >alt+f4 until you find a good one >run that mission over and over, dropping on one SC point and collecting them all then alt+f4 >you will keep SC >repeat
You can get like 1500 an hour.
It's crazy how much better this game got once I hit level 20. Railgun and Shield Generator are just head and shoulders above any other load out. Not even a question.
I can finally take care of Chargers and Bile Spitters with no issue. One shot Biles and 3 shot Chargers. God I hope they don't nerf this it makes the game so much more fun for me.
The most ridiculous thing about the shield is that it completely negates the charge from the charger and the pushback attack from stalkers, stalkers have to hit you like 5 times before they can touch you, shits dumb
Sony probably had no faith that this game was going to be as good as it was.
It definitely felt like even the developers were expecting meh sales
explains why it was somewhat janky and rushed but still incredibly fun and refreshing.
>Sony probably had no faith that this game was going to be as good as it was
I wouldn’t single Sony out for that, quite literally every developer/publisher has no faith these days its just throw shit at wall and see what sticks, luckily Sony doesn’t have incompetent fricks like 343i working for them
wonder how much sc I should farm, I feel like they might nerf the disonnect thing, ive got 1800 atm but still havent bought this seasons warbonds, might just get like 3k, enough for 2 warbonds and some cosmetics
picking up SC and then dropping your net for a sec so it sends you back to the ship screen so you can farm it again, you dont lose the seed if you disconnect or alt f4
That doesn't always tell the whole story. It says high penetration so it might shred multiple enemies at once. Like the fire grenade stats don't look great, but it always kills more enemies than any other grenade.,
Or stun lock devestators
Or 2 tap raiders
Or surpressing fire and clear out hordes of bugs
Or snipe spore spreaders across the map, Yes it can take out spore spreaders.
Does it actually pop tanks? Do you need to shoot it in the back?
I'm trying to stealth and its really hard with the sluggish mouse input to snipe stuff. I've turned off mouse accel and it still feels kinda crap but not as bad.
Breaker kindof sucks on harder difficulties where the threat isnt medium enemies, its the waves of smaller enemies. You spend more time reloading than shooting, and breaker isnt doing shit to heavies thats what your stratagem weapon is for.
The problem is that amount of shots per mag, not that it cant kill them, rather the opposite, its complete overkill on small enemies, but since it has a small mag it isnt killing very many before it needs to reload and though it can kill at range its not very efficient at it.
At max difficulty you really only need to be killing the hunters while moving to your next node, if there are no chargers and you're shooting hunters then nothing in the horde will get you. I don't really think anything is better because I never spend much time standing there firing off primaries into hordes
I guess its preference, once I realized shooting limbs off enemies either disabled them or killed them outright I actually started using the liberator almost exclusively, since it can do that at range and has a large magazine for dealing with lots of smaller enemies quickly. I dont want the breaker nerfed I would rather other weapons were buffed so people didnt feel a need to use it. >counter sniper has no armour penetration
Stuff like that baffles me.
They already said weapons are getting worked, so meta could be the fricking scythe next for all we know.. Its probably going to have less pellets per shot or shots per mag or something. I honestly never liked it anyway it feels like you spend more time reloading than actually shooting.
>Accidentally leave map borders and get disoriented trying to come back >Get artillery called all around me >It's having trouble killing me >Find my way back in and have my own death sentence do my work for me.
Having everything constantly exploding around me sure brought back memories.
Orbital laser kills heavy bases in 1 use. Slugger is good for little units, grenade launcher for bigger stuff until you get the railgun. I forget what level you get the autocannon but that’s great too
For one, don't let them summon reinforcements. The animation for firing a flare takes longer than it does for a scout bug to spew pheromones, which also means you have more time to interrupt them if you're paying attention.
Need something for armor, I started with autocannon.
My friends just straight up ignore anything not on an objective, I Spear any factories from any hilltop vantage and keep moving.
If too much bullshit shows up thrown down the orbital laser and keep moving.
Everyone takes the railgun but me, some take railcannon to remove annoying hulk, everyone takes laser.
4 guys operating a mech sounds like a hilarious disaster >"No! I said go LEFT you moron!" >"Why do I have to be the legs?" >"Having two guys work the arms is counterproductive...." >"THE HEAD DOESN'T DO ANYTHING! I JUST TURN AND LOOK!"

One of the Super Earth missions should be activating a shameless rip-off of Liberty Prime as a last line of Earth's defenses and watch it wreck shit across the map and throw hellbombs everywhere
you can call for and pilot something like this in EDF
whats the absolute sweet spot for difficulty to fun ratio? played a decent amount on Helldive and while I like the stress its a little light on ‘fun’ for me, like a challenge but also like just blasting shit. whats the consensus or is everyone just going max difficulty?
Suicidal for me, I like being able to use different kinds of loadouts without feeling like Im completely fricking the game for people. >1 person has railgun
I am free to use whatever I want safe in the knowledge that at least one person will be able to deal with heavies, or die and I can take their weapon. Ive even done runs where I dont take a strat weapon and just rely on what I find and it works out fine.
I think that once you know what youre doing you can use whatever you want, the only defintively useless weapon is the spray and pray shotgun.
Suicide and extreme
Extreme if you want an easy run, suicide if you want to feel a bit of pressure.
Bots you can honestly do impossible missions and its fine as well, hell dive is doable to its just oyu gotta pay more attention and its more tedious then it is fun
Personally suicide seems to be the sweet spot of challenge and thematical fights/actions.
The fire grenades are pretty good, and having 1 of each type of armor with servo assist is not bad.
But in terms of weapons? Nah not really, explosive lib sucks balls
Fire shotgun technically has the most damage in game but over time so super meh
the Other explosive rife is just kinda of a shitty version of the plas 1.
The senator is the only kinda worth while thing, since having a pocket medium armor pet weapon is never a bad thing.
right when im about to complete this hell dive mission and get the last super rare material for an upgrade im talking 20 fricking seconds from being knee deep in chargers, bile titans and my game fricking crashes
Seriously, frick this shit im done playing until they fix this crap. I enjoy the hell out of the game but holy frick is this shit unoptimized and crashing more than it should
yeah, its fricking brutal doing a sweep of a map on average of 20-25 minutes only for the game to say frick you and crash, be even worse if I was sweating and zooming to clear in 10-15 mins and the same crash…they really need to fix stability asap
LMAO they can't do an alien race like the illuminates because it would piss people off (who don't play the game). the illuminates were a benevolent race who wanted peace at first and super earth decided NO and started to attack them
>answer a distress call >land right as everyone is about to get on the extraction ship >get team killed by some homosexual the second I pop out of the turret >someone else quits even though their at the finish line wtf >guy who killed me is on mic giggling like a little school girl >proceeds to kill the other guy and extracts solo >still giggling like a school girl >while the ship is extracting the other guy also quits out >still giggling like a school girl, starts saying "I killed them I killed the guy that was with us the longest >I don't know who he's talking to, I'm literally the only one left waiting for the stupid cutscene to be over >still giggling like a school girl >kicks me off the ship as soon as the loading screen is over
How do I git gud at bots solo on 7 or 8? Seems like whenever you throw a stratagem the robbits immediately wallhack you and spam their gay little drop ship firework.
If I shoot berserkers and broodmothers in the legs with the penetrator, is that generally a better idea than going for headshots with the medium armor piercing weapons? Berserkers seem to die from face shots more easily to higher mag, light armor penetrating weapons.
I think the best part about Helldivers II is that anyone who plays selfishly typically has the worst experience.
There's not alot of games that can ward of trolling in a way that doesn't require any effort other than just playing and watching someone sabotage themselves.
I think the only bad experience I had was some guy killing me for no reason at the end of a pelican arrival and I just booted him before it ended effectively robbing him the experience of a 35 minute mission. Seriously I cant imagine this system staying in the game long though, they'll probably do away with host kicking and opt for team vote to kick bullshit.
>anyone who plays selfishly typically has the worst experience.
define "selfish"
i take the stealth armor, grenade launcher and ammo pack then proceed to roam the map by myself while my team keeps triggering bug breaches on the other side of the warzone and attracts all the attention
meanwhile I rape all the bug holes and instagib titans with railstrike+eagle rocket combo
>Pull out an eagle to bomb an incoming enemy wave >Teammate throws impact grenade for no apparent reason >Drop beacon and nuke whole team >DUDE!!!! WHY DID YOU KILL ME???
playing with low level randos is unbearable
>fighting bugs until I unlocked Extreme and being at level 15 >decided to try out a robot mission
I wasn't prepared for the endless airdrops and laser beams and rocket launchers and mortar barrages. Anyone has tips on what to prioritize when doing a robot mission? When playing against bugs, usually I disable stalker and bug nests along the way while doing side and main objectives. What do I need to look out for?
Be level 20 and run the shield backpack. Borderline mandatory for bots. Besides that? Don't aggro patrols at all and skip side objectives if they seem like they'll frick you up.
>run the shield backpack. Borderline mandatory for bot
You just need it to learn how to play against bots, after you get the hang of it, the shield is really not needed, just take cover and lean how important it is to dive and stay prone
I'm mostly having trouble to identify robot structures. How many type of structures are there and how to disable them? Some have like radio towers or artillery towers while others have factories. The usual orbital precision strike and eagle earstrike can destroy them?
mortar emplacements are easy to identify from a distance because they shoot mortars at you and the destroyer guy constantly shrieks at you that you're in range of enemy artillery. they have heat vents on the back that can be damaged by medium armor pen or better, or blow them up with eagle airstrike, rocket pods, orbital precision, autocannon, etc.
detector towers are stupid easy to spot, giant eye of sauron looking thing, i think only an eagle 500kg can do it in, orbital laser did nothing the last time i tried. if it sees you it calls in constant dropships so get up and hellbomb it
anti-air emplacements are easy to identify because they shoot rapidfire lasers up into the sky. they disable your eagles in a wide radius around them which makes dealing with other objectives way harder. same solution as mortars
scramblers are even worse, they disable all strategems but in a much more limited area. they're big spinning radar-looking things that pulse red rings, cannot miss them. as far as i know you have to disable it at the terminal before hellbombing it. that said you don't HAVE to destroy it, just disable it, to get your strategems back, but destroying it completes the optional.
SEAF sam sites are a special mention, though you don't destroy anything, their icon on the map looks like a microwave oven. try and find them because they'll blow up dropships every now and then
special mention to the cannon towers, they look like the hoth defense turrets from empire strikes back, can't miss em. they aren't sub-objectives or anything but are usually found near medium or heavy outposts, and they will ruin your day from a very long range. they also have a heat vent on the back but you will want beefy weapons to bring it down or just call in a 500kg, rocket pods, orbital laser, what have you
Be level 20 and run the shield backpack. Borderline mandatory for bots. Besides that? Don't aggro patrols at all and skip side objectives if they seem like they'll frick you up.
The ballistic shield is a good alternative, don’t think it protects that well against rockets but it’s superb for regular boolits. Also it’s cool and feels fun to use
Does the spear fill any specific niche? Only 5 shots seems super limiting when apparently le ebin railgun has 4x as many shots and can actually 1hk shit with a faster reload and no backpack
>people
I exclusively play 7 and up, sometimes even solo level 9, and I do not fricking touch railgun and shield.
Metagays have become overly reliant on a crutch, to the point they cannot figure out how to play the game without it.
There's more ways to deal with hulks and bile titans than a railgun shot to the face, and limiting yourself to the easiest option makes the game boring because you deprive yourself of anything that could shake up gameplay.
>There's more ways to deal with hulks and bile titans than a railgun shot to the face
None of these methods are difficult to pull off, just inferior >use autocannon instead of railgun >land a missile pod instead of a railgun
The only thing worse than genuine meta gays are the people who think they're better than meta gays because they choose contrarion options
I mean yeah there are other options but the amount of hoops you have to jump through for the other anti armor choices are nuts compared to the railgun. If you're trying to play multiple back to back missions I completely understand wanting to use it over fricking around with orbitals and reload shenanigans 24/7.
one shot shitting on Bile Titans with headshots (unreliable,) blowing up bot fabricators, turrets, stratagem disruptors from standoff and without having to attack vents. I don't think it can blow up Detector Towers unfortunately.
I'm just sick of how my friends play the game, basically I end up just stealthing objectives by myself and they do all the worthless nests and side objectives
there's no reason to do nests. It's totally ass that the number of enemies in the world aren't linked to it. the more of them you destroy the less should show up during extraction
>It's totally ass that the number of enemies in the world aren't linked to it.
true >there's no reason to do nests
false, moron. the reason is that you need to kill bugs, they won't kill themselves. you call yourself a patriot?
the mission is rarely to kill bugs for bug killings sake
the stats they give at the end seem to give people the wrong idea about the game. None of those stats matter
maybe if you got player bonuses for doing certain things it'd be different but the swedes are afraid of toxic western competition going against their socialist values so all loot is shared and everybody is the winner, even if you fail to extract
i think you may be playing the wrong game, commie. it is evident you are in dire need of re-education, but moreso evident that playing with you is probably heinously unfun
this attitude is cute until it deflects from genuine criticisms. Outside of defense missions, there is no reason to actually kill ze bugs. Even if it increased your contribution to liberation that would be something
I feel like there should be a small medal bonus for doing all side objectives. Not so many that it feels required to sweep every single mission, but some sort of benefit to accomplishing a mission with flying colors. Also would help bring medal earn rate on 40m missions more in line with back to back exterminate missions.
>It should not be possible to kill a charger by poking at its leg with a railgun.
so what do you propose instead? boring every helldiver to death with the bullfight run-around-shoot-the-back snooze festival so it takes an even more inordinate amount of time to deal with a group of chargers?
Make EATs and grenades actually blast off it's armour, so we can get at the fleshy stuff underneath.
And of course there's the orbital precision strike.
EATs DO break it's armor. Hit a leg or the side and it busts it open it one rocket. Then just blast it. Breaks Bile Titan armor too, though less useful. Can one shot Hulks like a Railgun if you hit the same eye spot as well.
The only weapon worth doming a charger with is the spear because it can kill in one shot that way, and that takes a lot of skill and a little luck. Otherwise, it's about taking out its legs.
used to be valdevon, now it's fenrir. love snow, love cold maps, love using laser rifle on cold maps (even though it's not that good)
but also draupnir and the creek. too many good ones >worst loadout
whatever (You) like worst, anonymous
why do furry games always get popular overnight? zero people have EVER heard of this series before it started being spammed here. every time that happens there's copious amounts of furry porn from animal rapist porn addicts.
how do we get mods to ban furgays for spamming their filth?
Do the last 3 difficulties bloat up enemies' HP or overtune their damage? Or just throw more mobs + elite mobs at you without changing their damage and HP?
Smoke grenades can do some wild shit.
Managed to run through a bot checkpoint right under their nose, its like when you walk into a smoke cloud it just resets their "suspicion" factor, however that works.
Does the new defense maps for bugs have some moronicly overtuned mission that requires the group to coordinate smokes and EMS if you want to play above 4?
was the Commando rocket launcher any good in Helldivers 1? have any of you played with any scriptlords that used it and did it seem to do okay against Chargers/Titans/Hulks/Tanks?
I need a fricking buff for the spear and the recoiless. I should be able to oneshot fricking moving chargers if i have to stand still and aim and have limited ammo.
Otherwise I'm just gonna keep rocking the EAT. Also whats with all the shitters not bringing ANY anti tank to +7 diff missions? Its annoying
idk homie, I just expect it to be 1000 SC just like the current warbond. But you never know they might increase the price depending on the items it has.
>first Helldive against bots with randoms on draupnir >two easy exterminates but 3rd is ore vein mission >land in clanker central lose 5 reinforcements straight off >get split up >one madman takes out a heavy outpost by himself >other two get focussed hard as I stealth one of the ore vein objectives >book it to the other vein as bots blast my ass all the way there >dodge, duck, dip, dive and dodge >meet up with other 2 bois and finish objectives >running to extraction meet up with other guy who has super samples somehow >blasting walkers and medium bots with amr >two man team using spear on heavies >samples guy calling down orbitals, airstrikes and EAT's >we all extract with 4 reinforces to spare
Most fun I have had in online gaming for years.
playing on suicide mission and above fricking sucks and i'm not having fun, half the time when i even get the purple samples that i need i never make it out with them because the game keeps drowning me in bullshit.
>players on PS5 hosts kill bile titans in 1 to 3 shots with railgun
holy fricking shit no wonder people think the railgun is absolutely necessary, it makes bile titans completely fricking trivial to deal with
The railgun and bile titans work as intended on PC, bile titans have zero hp when the host is a PS5 and dies with 1-2 hits to the head even if its on safe mode. on PC it takes like 9 hits minimum in safe mode
No it works. The railgun procs damage for whatever it passes through, so if you land a shot in its mouth, angled in a way it passes through the softest spots of its body, it does a frickload of damage. The damage is calculated actively on the server, meaning the lower the ping the more damage is calculated.
On PC it seems like it's more personal ping based and less so on the host, but the server still favors the host most of the time. It's why that one bug with the ships getting blown up then teleporting through the world before crashing is something you normally don't see as the host but it can still happen.
takes 2 to 3 times the number of shots to kill a bile titan with a PC host, 6 to 7 90% charge shots

>Have to make the game easier for PS5 Black folk
I'm not even surprised
>help new friends grind up to 7+ difficulty from 1 using the jetpack for fun >get so used to having a jetpack i can't function without it anymore
FRICK
i enjoy using the revolver for it's medium pen but it reloads too slow and does too little damage to reliably be used as a big game sidearm. 1 fatty down per reload sucks.
The ability to fire in between loading rounds is great once you learn to aim without the reticle. It's 2-3 shots to kill warrior/hunters and 1-2 for regular bots. Works on my machine.
turns out i actually misread it and those 14mil are from a local planet while on the galactic scale we're actually hovering around 64,444,536 Helldivers killed in action.
its getting bad out here man, and the tracker is already going into stack overflow numbers.
it kinda pisses me off that people (reddit) are dead set on taking Malevelon Creek still when that planet is 100% a lost cause, we could be making headway in other sectors but 12,000+ people are throwing themselves needlessly into the meat grinder for no reason.
Blame youtube grifters forcing the "Creek is Vietnam" meme. Now all the redditors are deadset on getting clips of themselves getting destroyed for upvotes with no regard for the actual war effort.
bot attrition rates have actually been set to zero for a while, so everything done will stick for now
what's fricked is the 120K people split across the bug planets dealing trivial damage instead of focusing one planet down
it's a really shitty system currently
If anyone didnt know you can call down multiple supply drops if you queue up the stratagems and then let the host drop his first, you can then follow with yours once his hits the floor and have upto 4 supplies dropped
Bug blitz mission: >run around, close holes with anything you want, get out.
Bot blitz mission: >oops, strategems are jammed >oops, there's AA >oops, you're in mortar range. They also know where you are all the time, wtf do they need spotter towers for? >oops, your strategems are slow, random, huge cooldown >still only get 10 minutes
I don't understand how the spear can be so shit and buggy. >can't even kill a hulk in one shot >can't lock on to shit >can only carry 3 missiles >ammo boxes don't replenish missiles but allow you to still pick them up
is there any means whatsoever to pop a Detector Tower besides a hellbomb? I don't understand how you're supposed to blow one up quietly as it is when I'm 99% sure they turn towards any source of noise and/or can see right at the foot of themselves outside the Eye of Sauron beam, completely nullifying the 'very slow lighthouse turnaround' aspect of their design.
you mean the imprecise single cannon shot nobody uses for any length of time because almost anything else can do one or many or all of its jobs better?
you can blow them up with other strats, but sometimes it's hard to call them in the right spot because the game wont let you call strats on top of the tower
which ones? I'd guess 500kg is among them and maybe plain old air strike, but I swear I tried it or a friend tried and it didn't take. >the game wont let you call strats on top of the tower
the only reason they did this is because the hellbombs were getting stuck on top or some bullshit, and they never had the presence of mind to say 'wait, what if hellpods can physically crush the tower just like bot factories?' and solved it right then and there
>imprecise
Black person it's only imprecise if you're playing with that modifier that makes orbital calldowns imprecise. It lands pretty much exactly where you throw the beacon otherwise.
maybe it's just coddling by bigger strikes or active homing shots talking then. Orbitals in general are hard to love right now when Eagle callins are so good with a 2 minute cooldown whenever you happen to run out or rearm manually.
you can blow them up with other strats, but sometimes it's hard to call them in the right spot because the game wont let you call strats on top of the tower
sadly yeah, the scythe has seen a pretty heavy fall from grace from how good it was in HD1 and the cannon doesnt penetrate medium armor, the only two laser weapons that are good are the laser dog and orbital laser.
sadly yeah, the scythe has seen a pretty heavy fall from grace from how good it was in HD1 and the cannon doesnt penetrate medium armor, the only two laser weapons that are good are the laser dog and orbital laser.
scythe is definitely better vs bots than it is against bugs, thanks to raiders and devastators having such squishy heads.
It is good, for most things. For the few things it isn't good against, you're supposed to bring tools to deal with them. Chargers can be dealt with using your primary (shoot the leg when they turn around), bile titans should be dealt with using orbital strategems, the 500kg bomb, airstrikes or whatever else.
I see too many morons being the arc thrower while also equipping offensive stratagems made for clearing chaff.
I think we should at least see some additional operation mutators like DRG has in that regard. For example:
>Elite Patrols
Patrols have their scouts replaced with hardier troops. While they're tougher to engage, they also won't summon reinforcements.
>Endless Swarm
Enemy spawns are skewed towards smaller units with less armor, but in significantly greater numbers. Summoned reinforcements also follow these guidelines.
im wondering how many people went back to try the first helldivers game. kinda wondering if the population grew because of the success of the sequel.
i got it "free" on ps+ years ago but the game was pretty much dead.
only red strikes do that, blue strats land wherever the timer hits zero, if you want to see it for yourself, stick a resupply beacon on someones shield the next time they piss you off, its hilarious to watch them flail.
So is the Disposable Rocket Launcher just the best support weapon that isn't the railgun?
For some reason every team I'm on just wipes if I don't bring them.
My the only competitor I've seen so far is the autocannon, but I don't want to gIve up on my laser drone
i dont understand why people suck EATs dick so much, it takes a full minute to reloard and you got 2 weak shots to kill maybe one big enemy then you got shit, not bring a grenade launcher instead and be useful at killing nestsbases and then use orbital strikes to kill the big shit
You're doing it wrong if you only summon EATs when you need them. You're supposed to fill the battlefield with them, summoning more whenever they go on cooldown so you always have a shitload of single-use missile tubes available.
For Chargers I generally aim at the side (first to get rid of the armor, then to cook the squishy bits beneath) or at their ass when they charge past. they typically don't one-shot them, but getting rid of the armor lets you use your main weapon to kill them.
>laser drone
For higher difficulties you're better off not bringing it, avoiding patrols and aggro plays a bigger part in your runs and the drones pretty much sweep 360 degrees around you to set off every pod within eyesight without killing all that much
You're doing it wrong if you only summon EATs when you need them. You're supposed to fill the battlefield with them, summoning more whenever they go on cooldown so you always have a shitload of single-use missile tubes available.
>You're supposed to fill the battlefield with them, summoning more whenever they go on cooldown so you always have a shitload of single-use missile tubes available.
Again on higher difficulties you're going to have to deal with more than one Hulk or Charger per minute, there's no way to make a surplus of them unless there isn't anything to shoot at all
Plus holding areas isn't really on the table anyway unless it's a Extermination mission
its not bad, just needs rebalancing like 90% of the weapons >had 'explosive trait' which was later removed >is in 'explosive' class of weapons >dominator's rounds do not at all explode on impact like the scorcher
it's a poorer damaging magfed Slugger with sway like an HMG that makes accurate shot placement a chore. Unpleasant to use, less effective than putting Breaker cones on weak points.
If you bring mortars to bug planets then you deserve it.
Even when running Jump Packs and hopping on some otherwise unaccessible rocks I still somehow get hit by friendly mortars when there are no bugs around. Shit's fricked.
What are the lowest CD strategems that can potentially pop armor? I know precise orbital strike can with EMS support, airburst can but it'll take a few barrages and 110kg might be able to but it feels more unreliable even with direct hits.
>player walks into a landmine and gets turned into soup >i pick up their samples on the way to the extract >as soon as they respawn they fricking magdump into my head and take the samples back >they continue to TK me until someone else TKs them because we were running low on reinforcements
why the frick does everyone get so touchy when you grab their samples?
>player walks into a landmine and gets turned into soup >i pick up their samples on the way to the extract >as soon as they respawn they fricking magdump into my head and take the samples back >they continue to TK me until someone else TKs them because we were running low on reinforcements

this post has been fact checked by patriots, and it's objectively false. propaganda.
>own every strategem >working on ship upgrades >Picked up a few useful light armors from SC shop using SC earned in game >Experimenting with various loadouts on difficulty 7
Ive just started so will probably just do low level missions for a while. But is it worth asking what threats I should be aware of and ready to have an answer for as I go higher? On Darktide I had the idea if my loadout could deal with Crushers it could handle mostly anything.
Also if I can ask, I was on my second mission and grabbed a grenade launcher and started shooting at one of the big bugs that give you the armor symbol with a smaller gun. I died right after to an explosion. Does grenades bounce off armored enemies or could it have been friendly fire?
Armored enemies, they force you to use stratagems to deal with them, invest in decent AT capabilities especially if you know you're going against them, like in Brood commander missions

report from smoke grenade experiments. >if a group isn't aggro'd it basically flips off their AI so they'll happily stand in any call down you throw into the smoke >raw dogshit if you're trying to ninja your way out of combat at best you can get a breather from ranged attacks but you aren't going to get the AI KO it does if they're unalerted
I was testing against chargers but it's probably far more useful against bots since I'm fairly sure they won't use ranged attacks if they're in smoke. It was pretty interesting that hunters won't blindly leap through smoke or while in smoke
>light engineer armor
>6 smoke grenades
got a better image of super earth in the intro, and I am 90% sure the city pictured is Chicago
>sun rising in the east, due south of Lake Erie
>south
shit, meant west
it does appear to be on the wrong side of lake michigan tho
on second thought it might actually be centered on Fort Wayne instead of Chicago, which I suppose would be in line with Super Earth
If you didn't notice, in tutorial on "mars" you can see two suns. Super Earth isn't the Earth.
are you sure?
one of them could very well have been Deimos or Phobos
Positive. And you can see a moon as well and it's far too round to look like either of our Mars' moons
only one of the objects in the sky seems to be producing godrays, so I'd say that ones the sun and the one next to it is one of the moons
both Deimos and Phobos are too distant to really be seen as what we'd think of as a moon. Deimos would look like a star, and Phobos would look like a football shape about half the size of our Moon.
In HD1 if Super Earth was lost, they'd just rename a different planet Super Earth
>is this worth playing as a friendless loser?
>how well would this run on a 5700x, 6700XT and 32 gigs of ram?
>how bad are the microtransactions?
>is it just another flavor of the month shit everyone will forget about soon?
anon, it's first month is almost up. and it's held steady at 400k+ concurrent users on steam. they're not going to suddenly drop the game in 5 days especially when burgers are entering spring break.
What are their plans for the future though? Did the sudden popularity of the game catch them with their pants down?
New Warbonds drop each month (second thursday) with new weapons, armors, grenades, emotes, so on. Next major update (possibly also coming on the 14th) seems to be bringing a mech that you can customize and some vehicles. There's also a third faction, though we don't know when they'll be reintroduced.
Are there any planned paid DLCs in the works?
The Warbonds kind of work like progressable DLC packs.
As far as I know, no, which is probably the point of the warbonds.
>4 hours
Way less than that. I got 300 in 15 minutes.
>I actually hope they add something worth having in the next one,
If weapon leaks that we've seen are what's in the next warbond, it seems to be an energy/explosive one. A crossbow that fires explosive bolts, a shotgun that fires lightning, and a shotgun that fires plasma.
>>is this worth playing as a friendless loser?
I'm having fun, even though I know it'd probably be more fun with friends like everything else
t. friendless loser
>>how well would this run on a 5700x, 6700XT and 32 gigs of ram?
Don't know about those but I have a 3060 12gb and I don't think I've noticed a single drop in frames, runs real well
>>how bad are the microtransactions?
not bad at all, and you can very easily earn supercredits ingame, both playing normally and farming at a rate that's faster than you could buy them at minimum wage
>>is it just another flavor of the month shit everyone will forget about soon?
I hope not, but I can't tell the future
there's definitely at least one more enemy faction coming Soon™ and possibly another, as well as vehicles so hopefully it will last a good while
No
Pretty well
They're an active detriment to the experience
Probably
Maybe if you solo queue in other games and have dealt with moronic randoms before
>>how well would this run on a 5700x, 6700XT and 32 gigs of ram?
I have something similar to this but with a 6750xt. You're good.
>>how bad are the microtransactions?
They're alright
>>is it just another flavor of the month shit everyone will forget about soon?
Probably, you're near the end of it's reign
>>is this worth playing as a friendless loser?
i would say yeah but if you're playing all alone you'll get bored after about 50h
>>how well would this run on a 5700x, 6700XT and 32 gigs of ram?
yes
>>how bad are the microtransactions?
you can earn the premium currency just by playing the game and the rates are so agreeable that anons expect them to be nerfed hard
>>is it just another flavor of the month shit everyone will forget about soon?
are you really going into a thread for fans of a specific game asking if that game is a fotm?
The game actually runs worst on the top end of AMD cards, some weird crashes exclusive to those, the lower your graphics settings the less often it happens but your card is never actually being pushed even on those highest settings. A driver update was specifically made to address this but it's not totally gone
I have a 7800XT and experienced one crash. I looked up a guide that said to downgrade gpu drivers and turn down a few settings and haven't had a single problem since.
No problems so far here
t. 6700XT on Fedora Linux
I don't have any friends playing it but I've found some really good squads through random people joining during Quickplay. I've also found people who nuked our entire evacution zone just as the ship landed. Just kind of luck of the draw sometimes.
New content next week. The numbers will hold.
>>is this worth playing as a friendless loser?
Depends on how the devs handle it.
>dead in a month or two by over saturation (see: Lethal Company)
what
Yes. t. does most everything by himself.
It runs fine on my gtx970 🙂
No game is dogshit solo, fun with friends and frustrating with random
If you have someone to play with then only buy it though i still hate that this is an online only live service
>No
>Pretty good
>Should be a f2p game, to much grinding
>It's good with friends but yes it's a fotm because its a online only live service game and you have no guarantee how much life it has
--use-d3d11 in Steam launch options for HD2.
>>is this worth playing as a friendless loser?
its genuinely crazy to me that most people don't solo queue in most games, apparently. just judging by these threads it seems a lot of people still have friends. pretty wild.
if you play any other co-op game solo this is no different
works on my machine from 2017
you can farm premium currency, I have about 80 dollaroos worth farmed in a day or two. even if you only play regularly you can easily get a premium warbond's worth of it in a month.
important thing is the premium armor/weapons are 99% shit and not worth it to begin with, so unless you want everything you can easily save your SC for the good stuff if it ever shows up
game will hold up as decently as the content updates allow it, but I would definitely expect it to drop consistently well below 100k in a few months at most. still extremely good for a co-op game
Currently playing it on high quality settings and getting 70+ fps at 1080p on my rig which is worse than yours.
>Ryzen 5 5600
>Ryzen Sapphire 5700XT
>16gb 3200mhz Corsair ddr4
Armor rating currently doesn't work. But speed does, so not using light armor is just a handicap right now.
You'll have to pry me out of my trench engineer armor with a crowbar.
I know, I just wonder if heavy armor + fortified at least mitigates explosive damage. I think this bug will be fixed on the 14th.
Halo armor is both ugly and has shit perks, like all the other premium shit.
The traits work, yes, the 50% damage on explosives does seem to work.
I've realized that all weapons are terrible
Snoy won
Nintendo won
Xbox lost
LGBTlightspkeks lost
>the halo armor is never coming back
>fricking developers ran out of codes
>its fomo shit
Got mine
>tfw i have an extra code
Dude I got to 80 fricking percent in Twitch before the last stream ended. I don't even give a shit about cosmetics, I'm just fuming that I was so close.
>open Twitch to do it
>it's the very day they ran out of keys
>campaign over, even though the dates went on for another half week
hurts
I wasn't even aware of the promo. Did they even advertise it anywhere?
>it's a +2 stims armour, but actually looks decent
FRICK
I only saw it on Reddit, and by then it was too late to get it.
>he doesn't want to look like trauma team
There's other 2+ stims armors.
Physician armor is a cooler version of the halo armor imo
Are there any others besides the two medic ones in the warbond? Because I have those but I just don't think they look as nice.
I think theres two in the superstore. Someone was posting saying one of them has a nice ass
it's a pretty nice ass, just wish we had slightly shorter capes
there it is. the best suit in the game
Any armor that's not +2 grenades is worthless though, all 4 players running that is the best armor loadout
There's people reselling the codes on g2a and such for a couple of bucks if anyone REALLY wants it still.
ODST GEAR WHEN
>collected my key weeks ago
>couldn't claim it on steam because I didn't actually own the game
Only just bought the game last night and finally claimed it. I just wish the visor wasn't blue.
Is AA gaming back?
>Hi Fi Rush
>Rogue Trader
>Darktide
>Helldivers 2
Always has been.
game needs:
military base hub world on mars
bugs AI tries to avoid flames
able to equip multiple emotes and select them from a wheel
ability to cash in excess requisition slips for super credits at a 1000:1 rate
jump pack gets 3 jumps before needing a recharge
grenades break armor
melee weapons
Chill. I was missing a progression system for the weapons.
>implying the Railgun will change at all except to get 45 total rounds to match its old primary slot ammo capacity
foolish
That's reasonable actually.
>
How should I giveaway a Twitch armor code? I don't want it to be just whoever's fastest.
Play with me and i'll show you how to pat someone's back when hugging
Ask a question and whoever's answer you like best gets it?
Ransom it for fan art. Like Eagle 1 lewds or something. It generates content
Pelican-1 and Eagle-1 mating in the sky. The planes, not the pilots.
WHAT
is your favorite color?
I guess it's green
You think Super Earth has a Super President? With power armor and everything?
>average bug poster
who made this...
I vill now eat ze bugz
Wonder how many of these are out in the wild? Haven't run into one online yet. Feels like I'm the only guy rocking it. I'm not even into HALO and I think it's neat
Why does this have the stim bonus? It doesn't fit at all.
Also I hate the helmet, no other armor has a green/blue scheme.
no other armor has that tint of green either.
Apparently if it's green, it's a medic armor.
I have it but I like how the second paid warbond armor looks and use that instead
And because of that I'm too used to the throwing distance to change
I have it. It is just a hideous recolor of the hideous one in the pass.
Is it true snoys have a gimped baby version of the game that lets them one shot biles constantly?
Allegedly it works on PC too, if your latency is really bad.
>muh halo
why though? conceptually it's unrelated to this game or the fantasy it creates. you'd think there'd be more references to starship troopers or 40k
helljumpers
The whole concept of Helldivers is the ODSTs from Halo + Starship Troopers.
What makes them like the ODSTs? I never played halo.
The whole concept of a squad dropping down to a planet in pods was popularized by the ODST troops in Halo. They called themselves "Helljumpers," which 'Helldivers' is a play on.
>Super Earth eventually gets invaded
>go into a rescue mission on the night side of the planet
>land in a war-torn city map
>rain weather effect blurs our squad's vision
>slow jazz music plays in the distance
>super earth gets invaded
>it's still random unstaffed research stations randomly scattered around a bunch of empty fields
That would actually be so kino. It would imply the Earth got ravaged a long time ago and the whole Super Democracy facade would be stripped away.
Doubt it. The first Helldivers Super Earth had actual urban environments.
the first one had a lot of things this one doesn't have
And we're already soon to get a bunch of it with vehicles and Illuminate coming up. Your point?
they haven't earned good will and faith to do the right thing yet
game is way too broken for way too long
Was the amount of support they gave to the first Helldivers over the years not enough to give them just a little bit of faith?
There are at least rebel NPCs confirmed.
otsukaresama anon
also
>inb4 it says capital defense right there in the image.
True, capital defense should be returning. But there is an entire section for planet types and another section for the zones on the maps (POIs, landmarks, other shit in game). I didnt see any of them mentioning urban stuff.
this will unironically break or make the game for me. if the city maps are shit. its fricking over for me and HD2
Son, go read Starship Troopers then War of the Worlds. The concept is pretty old.
Yeah sorry. You're just wrong. Nobody gives a shit about 40k in current year.
this. VatBlack folk ruined it by literally being orks and then embracing that shit too.
People give more shit about WH than a specific division of UNSC whose one trick isn't particularly focused on.
>The whole concept of a squad dropping down to a planet in pods was popularized by the ODST troops in Halo
please please PLEASE have a nice day you fricking moron, the concept in fiction was round way before gaylo
I don't see the word "invented" in that sentence.
Name one.
Almost 1:1
no parachute bullshit.
quake moron
bump
>quake moron
no one remembers or cares
Halo popularized it.
ODST literally stands for Orbital Drop Shock Trooper. Well, except Helldivers aren't shock troopers but disposable cannon fodder.
Shock troops are expected to take heavier casualties then other units, despite the better equipment and training.
But wasn't that also just a thing in Starship Troopers? And other sci-fi war stories like Armor?
If nothing else, the title of the game is a clear reference to Halo, so it means the rest is probably partly inspired by Halo as well.
Can't really argue with the name and logo stuff, but soldiers dropping from orbit is a pretty common sci-fi thing.
Armor used teleportation for the drop. The Ants win because they caught on to detecting it fast.
Elite soldiers being orbital dropped into hostile territory
Also in Halo 2 they drop weapons down in pods just like in Helldivers.
The Frigate you operate is also pretty closely based on the frigates from Halo 2.
that's a stretch. Halo frigates still follow the dogma of a large gun with engines strapped to it where as super destroyers are orbital artillery platforms
true, but they are still visually similar at a glance
>gray/black ship with "wings" in the back and a long extended prow at the front
I think the super destroyer is meant to look more like an actual gun than the halo's heavy frigates (despite arguably being more of a gun with the MAC cannon being the center of the vessel everything else is built around), like everyone's flying around in giant pistols that shoot the bullet-shaped drop pods at planets
ODSTs are elite solders dropped from orbit in small pods.
They are also called Helljumpers and they wear black armor, and their logo is also a skull.
Your extraction vehicle is called a Pelican.
I like to sometimes play level one missions by myself and pretend I'm part of the sanitation/sterilization crew. A chance to take in the scenery, and collect samples. Zap straggler bots with the arc thrower, and cleanse bugs with the flamethrower
Why aren't the crashes fixed
https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2080825932?t=6h29m43s
Reminder that if you have a snoy host you can one shot bile titans with safe mode shots anywhere to the face, even hitting them on the plate above their nose is an instakill
that's how the properly tuned game is supposed to work, PC has a broken version
>chargers dont die in 1 hit let alone 3 with the railgun
>broodmother loses her head with 1 railgun shot but still fights on for a moment
youre telling me that the biggest bug in the game that is exclusively on higher difficulties is designed to die with one shot to the face?
yes, because they'll spawn half a dozen of them on you at any moment
>because they'll spawn half a dozen of them on you at any moment
oh no, so 6 shots from 1 of the 4 railguns on the team? how terrifying
>Angel's Venture
>Defense Campaign
>Escort fricking civilians
Comfortably did it on 7-Suicide with 3 people without the weasel strat. Bugs are so much easier for this mission it's such a relief.
I think I was in that mission, anon.
No kidding. Doing that mission with bugs honestly makes me think the bots are bugged at the moment.

Y tho?
I've never understood the point of locking out a language based on your region
its due to some thing jap va unions do i think, so the jap dub isnt available overseas
but literally every other game I have with jap voices lets me use them.
what
idk, sony or some shit
Good. Who the frick wants to listen to nips screaming. The only language ANYONE should switch to is Pyccкий
>日本語分かんないのに日本に住んでる
Military?
wait what the frick, I've never seen a game do this before
>change steam to japanese account
>buy game and install it
>copy jp dub files
>change steam to eng account
>paste files
>you now have edf helldivers
How many more weeks of selling armor for real money that doesn't actually function as the advertised value says are we going to endure until they just remove armor value listings from the in-game store that is selling armor for real money?
Right now, the fact that you can farm SC pretty quickly kind of trumps any bad business arguments.
How do you farm it then?
>difficulty 2
>play missions and look for 2 or more SC drops close together
>alt+f4 until you find a good one
>run that mission over and over, dropping on one SC point and collecting them all then alt+f4
>you will keep SC
>repeat
You can get like 1500 an hour.
Do it for her!
?si=xhVp23WVb3ri_Uh2
I just got the game and holy frick I have no idea what I'm doing and everything kills me in one shot.
Best thing you can do is plat a few missions alone. Rebind your dive key to something easier than alt and the stratagem to your arrow keys
>do Bugs on Suicide difficulty
Man this shits getting easy. Even Impossible is manageable
Meanwhile I can't even do robots on Extreme
A Pelican gunship would be a great call-in addition, to provide you mobile cannon support for a few min.
EDF FANS ARE HELLDIVER FANS SINCE 2015
TO SAVE OUR SUPER EARTH FROM ANY ALIEN ATTACK
FROM VICIOUS GIANT INSECTS WHO HAVE ONCE AGAIN COME BACK
WE'LL UNLEASH ALL OUR REINFORCEMENTS WE WON'T CUT THEM ANY SLACK
yes. unironically almost exactly how you describe it
THE EE DEE EFF DEPLOOOOOOOOYS
EDF? Isnt that the helldiverslike that got delayed?
you mean that japanese helldiverslike knock off?
YES
PLAY IT WHEN IT COMES OUT ON COMPUTERS
Oh we are the Oh we ar Oh we Oh Oh Ohh Ohhh
so are helldivers air raiders or rangers?
Both. With mech suits they'll be the closest thing to fencers. With jetpacks they'll come kinda close to wing divers.
Yeah, the game can actually be really frustrating until you get some of the more powerful stratagems.
its almost like youre supposed to play on easier difficulties until then
I want them to raise the damage of everything else to match it. Railgun meta is so fricking boring.
The most ridiculous thing about the shield is that it completely negates the charge from the charger and the pushback attack from stalkers, stalkers have to hit you like 5 times before they can touch you, shits dumb
I'm so fricking tired of the game crashing right before I'm about to extract.
Any image or sight that just shows all the leaked weapons and shit? Ive seen a few scattered around.
Sony probably had no faith that this game was going to be as good as it was.
It definitely felt like even the developers were expecting meh sales
explains why it was somewhat janky and rushed but still incredibly fun and refreshing.
Shame stellarblade isn't dropping on pc
>Sony probably had no faith that this game was going to be as good as it was
I wouldn’t single Sony out for that, quite literally every developer/publisher has no faith these days its just throw shit at wall and see what sticks, luckily Sony doesn’t have incompetent fricks like 343i working for them
Sony has a lot of incompetent fricks working for them. Many in the main company.
electro shotty? could be good, considering how much fun i have with the arc thrower and the slugger, but it will probably suck like most other weapons
I'M GOING TO KILL SO MANY ROBOTS WITH THIS THING. FRICK THEM
both probably completely useless in 7+
#7 W H E N
I want my Illuminate cape back.
i saw its boney remains somewhere in helldivers 2
wonder how much sc I should farm, I feel like they might nerf the disonnect thing, ive got 1800 atm but still havent bought this seasons warbonds, might just get like 3k, enough for 2 warbonds and some cosmetics
disconnect thing?
picking up SC and then dropping your net for a sec so it sends you back to the ship screen so you can farm it again, you dont lose the seed if you disconnect or alt f4
>Restrictive magazine
>25
I wish the scorcher had a "restrictive magazine" like that.
Oh hell yeah.
>"high damage and penetration"
>same damage as the Adjudicator with a smaller capacity
i mean, the penetration adds onto the damage
That doesn't always tell the whole story. It says high penetration so it might shred multiple enemies at once. Like the fire grenade stats don't look great, but it always kills more enemies than any other grenade.,
nah you don't understand, the gun actually has like 50 stats
just use the ones you think are fun :^)
>damage 80
For an automatic with armour penetration? Thats pretty good. For perspective the penetrator does 45 and only does burst fire.
>high damage
>80
now this right here is what I am talking about
isnt that just a dominator with a little splash damage
God this meme format always makes me laugh so hard
>80 damage
>Medium armor
So how is this going to compete with the plas 1?
It's hard to beat the scorcher when you can spend one magazine to kill a tank.
Or stun lock devestators
Or 2 tap raiders
Or surpressing fire and clear out hordes of bugs
Or snipe spore spreaders across the map, Yes it can take out spore spreaders.
Does it actually pop tanks? Do you need to shoot it in the back?
reminds me of izanagis burden
It's a fricking bolt rifle.
Are they going to fix med/heavy armor?
>get attacked by single flea you can easily melee to death
>teleports you into a nest
>potentially fatal blow
Read homie, says fatal damage.
Why tf would I ever read that when I can just imagine what it says?
Probably going to be my personal choice if it can detonate bug holes and factories.
crossbow with different special arrows was one of my favorite weapons in DRG, gimme some freezing, electric and confusing arrows as well
I'm trying to stealth and its really hard with the sluggish mouse input to snipe stuff. I've turned off mouse accel and it still feels kinda crap but not as bad.
>20 new weapons releasing
>all will undoubtedly be worse than the breaker etc day 1
Breaker kindof sucks on harder difficulties where the threat isnt medium enemies, its the waves of smaller enemies. You spend more time reloading than shooting, and breaker isnt doing shit to heavies thats what your stratagem weapon is for.
Huh? breaker is excellent at dealing with smaller enemies, and as you say stratagems and support weapons are for heavier enemies
MAKE THE JUMP BOOST'S COOLDOWN A LOWER LIKE IN THE FIRST GAME FOR GOD'S SAKE
I need to grind more medals so I can immediately buy everything in the new pass when it releases
They will introduce Medal Rank 2 :^)
Please don't hurt me like this. I'm a tender soul.
The Dominator is feeling pretty damn good against bugs. It's recoil seems to be fairly predictable so I am able to compensate for it somewhat.
>Accidentally leave map borders and get disoriented trying to come back
>Get artillery called all around me
>It's having trouble killing me
>Find my way back in and have my own death sentence do my work for me.
Having everything constantly exploding around me sure brought back memories.
any news on Xbox port? the sheer amount of money they’re leaving on the table by not putting this on Game Pass is staggering
How are you supposed to break into higher level bots? it feels like they just dropship faster then you can kill them, even with a squad.
Railguns, eagle airstrikes and missile pods completely btfo bots
what if no railgun?
autocannon also works well against them
Orbital laser kills heavy bases in 1 use.
Everyone takes the railgun but me, some take railcannon to remove annoying hulk, everyone takes laser.
imagine
Go back.
4 guys operating a mech sounds like a hilarious disaster
>"No! I said go LEFT you moron!"
>"Why do I have to be the legs?"
>"Having two guys work the arms is counterproductive...."
>"THE HEAD DOESN'T DO ANYTHING! I JUST TURN AND LOOK!"
One of the Super Earth missions should be activating a shameless rip-off of Liberty Prime as a last line of Earth's defenses and watch it wreck shit across the map and throw hellbombs everywhere
That would be kino
you can call for and pilot something like this in EDF
no that would be origins
whats the absolute sweet spot for difficulty to fun ratio? played a decent amount on Helldive and while I like the stress its a little light on ‘fun’ for me, like a challenge but also like just blasting shit. whats the consensus or is everyone just going max difficulty?
Helldive is pretty fun to me. Frankly, I can't wait until they add in the harder difficulties.
Suicide run is my personal go to
I play on hardest with a friend just as a duo. Feels right to us but we are autisitc with difficulty so im sure it would be unplayable boring to most.
Personally suicide seems to be the sweet spot of challenge and thematical fights/actions.
real answer
5-6 like the first game. help out newcomers on even lower levels

tempted, but I have over 90 hours and dont wanna risk being banned
anything from Helldivers 2 thats similar to the mating press from DRG? some of those big chubby bugs look ripe
is there a single fricking thing in the current warbond that is worth using at lvl 8+
Yes, the Plas 1 scorcher The best weapon in the game.
my bad I meant the premium warbond
I enjoy the hell out of the game but holy frick is this shit unoptimized and crashing more than it should
Seriously. I can't take the crashes and disconnects. It's infuriating
yeah, its fricking brutal doing a sweep of a map on average of 20-25 minutes only for the game to say frick you and crash, be even worse if I was sweating and zooming to clear in 10-15 mins and the same crash…they really need to fix stability asap
its over

>I don't know who he's talking to, I'm literally the only one left waiting for the stupid cutscene to be over
>still giggling like a school girl
>kicks me off the ship as soon as the loading screen is over
The frick is wrong with these homosexuals
Traitors.
>Pull out an eagle to bomb an incoming enemy wave
>Teammate throws impact grenade for no apparent reason
>Drop beacon and nuke whole team
>DUDE!!!! WHY DID YOU KILL ME???
playing with low level randos is unbearable
>landing your pod on a civilian corpse makes it explode into gore
it's the little things that really make this game
>fighting bugs until I unlocked Extreme and being at level 15
>decided to try out a robot mission
A lot of the side shit needs a hellbomb
mortar emplacements are easy to identify from a distance because they shoot mortars at you and the destroyer guy constantly shrieks at you that you're in range of enemy artillery. they have heat vents on the back that can be damaged by medium armor pen or better, or blow them up with eagle airstrike, rocket pods, orbital precision, autocannon, etc.
detector towers are stupid easy to spot, giant eye of sauron looking thing, i think only an eagle 500kg can do it in, orbital laser did nothing the last time i tried. if it sees you it calls in constant dropships so get up and hellbomb it
anti-air emplacements are easy to identify because they shoot rapidfire lasers up into the sky. they disable your eagles in a wide radius around them which makes dealing with other objectives way harder. same solution as mortars
scramblers are even worse, they disable all strategems but in a much more limited area. they're big spinning radar-looking things that pulse red rings, cannot miss them. as far as i know you have to disable it at the terminal before hellbombing it. that said you don't HAVE to destroy it, just disable it, to get your strategems back, but destroying it completes the optional.
SEAF sam sites are a special mention, though you don't destroy anything, their icon on the map looks like a microwave oven. try and find them because they'll blow up dropships every now and then
special mention to the cannon towers, they look like the hoth defense turrets from empire strikes back, can't miss em. they aren't sub-objectives or anything but are usually found near medium or heavy outposts, and they will ruin your day from a very long range. they also have a heat vent on the back but you will want beefy weapons to bring it down or just call in a 500kg, rocket pods, orbital laser, what have you
Thanks for the detailed tips, anon. I think I'll go on a solo mission to get the hang of it.
i do a lot of bot solos on 7 and if i have one piece of advice to you its this: just leave the heavy outpost alone
The ballistic shield is a good alternative, don’t think it protects that well against rockets but it’s superb for regular boolits. Also it’s cool and feels fun to use
But what if the Stalkers have excellent tiddies, but they only decloak if they're right on top of you?
They should add a rogue human faction. So we can frick up some bad guys.
i just want the bots-versus-bugs-versus-helldivers planets
and illuminate
This post is dedicated to the brave Automaton fighters of Malevelon
>brave Automaton fighters
You forgot your hyphen, citizen.
Yeah… right…
Does the spear fill any specific niche? Only 5 shots seems super limiting when apparently le ebin railgun has 4x as many shots and can actually 1hk shit with a faster reload and no backpack
yeah it's niche is that it's worse than EATs and the Recoilless.
It will have a use once the railgun is nerfed to the ground.
>nerfing the only armor breaker in the game
people already aren't playing the high difficulties, this will only compound it
>people
I exclusively play 7 and up, sometimes even solo level 9, and I do not fricking touch railgun and shield.
None of these methods are difficult to pull off, just inferior
>use autocannon instead of railgun
>land a missile pod instead of a railgun
>It's totally ass that the number of enemies in the world aren't linked to it.
true
>there's no reason to do nests
false, moron. the reason is that you need to kill bugs, they won't kill themselves. you call yourself a patriot?
the mission is rarely to kill bugs for bug killings sake
the stats they give at the end seem to give people the wrong idea about the game. None of those stats matter
maybe if you got player bonuses for doing certain things it'd be different but the swedes are afraid of toxic western competition going against their socialist values so all loot is shared and everybody is the winner, even if you fail to extract
i think you may be playing the wrong game, commie. it is evident you are in dire need of re-education, but moreso evident that playing with you is probably heinously unfun
completing the mission is all that matters
this attitude is cute until it deflects from genuine criticisms.
Also would help bring medal earn rate on 40m missions more in line with back to back exterminate missions.
unironically sounds like a good team
>get almost everything done
But it's lonely, I liked when we were level 5 goofballs bumbling around
It should not be possible to kill a charger by poking at its leg with a railgun. Remember: Removing a limb still leaves bugs 86% combat effective.
Also, the single use anti-tank rocket feels useless against the literal bug tank running around.
You need like 3-4 rockets to take it down.
>It should not be possible to kill a charger by poking at its leg with a railgun.
so what do you propose instead? boring every helldiver to death with the bullfight run-around-shoot-the-back snooze festival so it takes an even more inordinate amount of time to deal with a group of chargers?
NTA but I propose letting Recoilless Rifle's and EATs one-shot chargers if you hit the butt.
The legs are very intentionally a charger's weakness. EAT easily blows armor off of a leg, so each calldown can kill two chargers.
We're not supposed to fire anti-tank rockets at its head?
The only weapon worth doming a charger with is the spear because it can kill in one shot that way, and that takes a lot of skill and a little luck. Otherwise, it's about taking out its legs.
1 - What is your favourite planet?
2 - What is the absolute worst dogwater stratagem loadout you can come up with?
>orbital smoke
>eagle smoke
>500kg
>orbital precision
>Almost my exact loadout
Oh no..
used to be valdevon, now it's fenrir. love snow, love cold maps, love using laser rifle on cold maps (even though it's not that good)
but also draupnir and the creek. too many good ones
>worst loadout
whatever (You) like worst, anonymous
Probably both guard drones, supply pack and Jump pack.
>smoke
>ems smoke
>ems mortar
>fire mines
The Creek and The sandy as frick bug planet
Ballistic Shield, Both smokes, and manned turret
For killing everyone "by accident" 380, Mortar, arc, and your choice of eagle
Also hard to choose but fav planet is either fenrir or erata
>Enter in jammer range
>Cant airstrike everything to death
>Squad starts shitting and farting
When the frick is the patch
If I change my strategem bindings to arrow keys versus WASD, will that let me move while inputting codes?
yes
Free my cyborg homies!
Heeth, where the boys became men.
Does the galling barrage destroy structures like radio towers?

I love EATs, Charlie. I love EATs!
I love rocket turrets, gas strikes, and machine guns.
>drop EMS on chargers
>they completely ignore it
wtf
Ems seems to occasionally not work on bigger bugs.
>Can only carry one at a time
Am I really gonna have to haul ass to the upload twice
I'm not sure if I even have enough time to do this.
Its a coop game, where is your team
The only team I need is democracy.
Does the artillery shell trick work for those?
They dont slow you down so it doesn't matter. SSSD just keeps you from using your primary while holding it
actually why can't you hold 2 of these? (no weapon)
A level 6 joined my helldive and he was pulling his weight more than the 30s
>Best fun/challenge ratio
>Loud: D7
>Stealth: D9
So we all agree right?
>PS5 host
>dont have to try cause everything dies in 1 hit
easy exp thanks homie
why do furry games always get popular overnight? zero people have EVER heard of this series before it started being spammed here. every time that happens there's copious amounts of furry porn from animal rapist porn addicts.
how do we get mods to ban furgays for spamming their filth?
sar, this is a dumb script, sars, I do not think it will go anywhere...
>helldivers
>furry game
Okay.
Do the last 3 difficulties bloat up enemies' HP or overtune their damage? Or just throw more mobs + elite mobs at you without changing their damage and HP?
I thought it just increased the amount of enemies and the amount of more dangerous enemy types
Slug shotgun opinions? Seems decent for armor breaking medium enemies but the rate of fire is killing me.
was the Commando rocket launcher any good in Helldivers 1? have any of you played with any scriptlords that used it and did it seem to do okay against Chargers/Titans/Hulks/Tanks?
console shitters so fricking bad they literally have to play on easy mode, holy shit
You did save enough super credits and warbond medals for the 14th didn't you Helldivers?
how much is the next warbond gonna be?
I have like 770 SC without even farming, just from playing normally
idk homie, I just expect it to be 1000 SC just like the current warbond. But you never know they might increase the price depending on the items it has.
alright thanks buddy (i just had forgotten how much the current one was)
Medals cap at 250, there's not much to save.
>Medals cap at 250
Really wtf
>5000 SC farmed
im done that should cover me for a while
How long did it take you gwailo
few hours while working, had a god seed with 60 SC on a small map
Damn 60, you're lucky!
why can't you just enjoy the game, why turn it into a fricking job lmao
>first Helldive against bots with randoms on draupnir
>two easy exterminates but 3rd is ore vein mission
>land in clanker central lose 5 reinforcements straight off
>get split up
>one madman takes out a heavy outpost by himself
>other two get focussed hard as I stealth one of the ore vein objectives
>book it to the other vein as bots blast my ass all the way there
>dodge, duck, dip, dive and dodge
>meet up with other 2 bois and finish objectives
>running to extraction meet up with other guy who has super samples somehow
>blasting walkers and medium bots with amr
>two man team using spear on heavies
>samples guy calling down orbitals, airstrikes and EAT's
>we all extract with 4 reinforces to spare
Most fun I have had in online gaming for years.
playing on suicide mission and above fricking sucks and i'm not having fun, half the time when i even get the purple samples that i need i never make it out with them because the game keeps drowning me in bullshit.
>players on PS5 hosts kill bile titans in 1 to 3 shots with railgun
holy fricking shit no wonder people think the railgun is absolutely necessary, it makes bile titans completely fricking trivial to deal with
does the railgun not work on PC or something?
takes 2 to 3 times the number of shots to kill a bile titan with a PC host, 6 to 7 90% charge shots
is that why i can never seem to kill shit with it? holy crap.
this perfectly explains why I see people say 1 to 3 shots while others say 10
The railgun and bile titans work as intended on PC, bile titans have zero hp when the host is a PS5 and dies with 1-2 hits to the head even if its on safe mode. on PC it takes like 9 hits minimum in safe mode
https://www.twitch.tv/maplewood_tv/clip/MotionlessModernAdminPRChase-t3891FkGUUFo_YH7?filter=clips&range=7d&sort=time
No it works.
>Have to make the game easier for PS5 Black folk
I'm not even surprised
>help new friends grind up to 7+ difficulty from 1 using the jetpack for fun

>play my first mission
>finish it
>game bugs out when trying to put us all back on the ship
>have to alt f4
spend your extra cash on prostitutes
is the breaker really the only gun worth using? i hate having to reload it so frequently.
Use literally whatever feels good to you. I've been going slugger, arc thrower and jetpack and its a blast
Change the firing mode to semi, rather have to click more than accidently magdump.
the only guns that feel bad to me is the SMG and explosive liberator.
>nobody does this anymore
soulless
I like running around in circles so the cape wraps around me like a sash and then I pretend to be a greek with a toga
Soul. I rescind my previous post.
i enjoy using the revolver for it's medium pen but it reloads too slow and does too little damage to reliably be used as a big game sidearm. 1 fatty down per reload sucks.
The ability to fire in between loading rounds is great once you learn to aim without the reticle. It's 2-3 shots to kill warrior/hunters and 1-2 for regular bots. Works on my machine.
>Join difficulty 5 game
>Everything going well for a few minutes
>Hold off a bug breach, complete an objective
>Randomly kicked
For what purpose?
Some angry meta gay was probably seething that you weren't using the meta stratagems.
I was level 13 and brought an autocannon, a breaker, two turrets and the eagle airstrike
More than enough for difficulty 5
>difficulty 5
>meta weapons
Sounds moronic enough that I can believe it
oh hey, they finally got the stat tracker working again
>14,209,293 Helldivers KIA as of right now
shit man, pour one out for the fallen when you get the chance..
Frick...
turns out i actually misread it and those 14mil are from a local planet while on the galactic scale we're actually hovering around 64,444,536 Helldivers killed in action.
its getting bad out here man, and the tracker is already going into stack overflow numbers.
Freedom isn't free
Yeah it's got a hefty frickin fee
And if we don't chip in our buck o' five who will
they're gonna have to go to scientific notation soon
Anyone wanna do some helldive s t e a l t h?
I'm still learning the way of the ninja.
what the frick does managed democracy mean
it kinda pisses me off that people (reddit) are dead set on taking Malevelon Creek still when that planet is 100% a lost cause, we could be making headway in other sectors but 12,000+ people are throwing themselves needlessly into the meat grinder for no reason.
Blame youtube grifters forcing the "Creek is Vietnam" meme. Now all the redditors are deadset on getting clips of themselves getting destroyed for upvotes with no regard for the actual war effort.
Made in China.
By bugs.
Thank you for your service.
bot attrition rates have actually been set to zero for a while, so everything done will stick for now
what's fricked is the 120K people split across the bug planets dealing trivial damage instead of focusing one planet down
it's a really shitty system currently
If anyone didnt know you can call down multiple supply drops if you queue up the stratagems and then let the host drop his first, you can then follow with yours once his hits the floor and have upto 4 supplies dropped
I'm convinced the percentages are bullshit. One of the planets needed for the weekly was at 18% when I left for work. Now it's 100%.
people didnt want to lose those free 45 medals, the threat of losing them really lit a fire under peoples asses.
SPEAR should
>always oneshot targets
>lock onto all "destroy" side objectives
>have unlimited range
I'd settle for it locking on at all, frankly. Anything beyond that is just a bonus.
A teammate's spear locked onto me once.
At least I think it did, because it hit me and I was nowhere near the enemy.
Bug blitz mission:
>run around, close holes with anything you want, get out.
Bot blitz mission:
>oops, strategems are jammed
>oops, there's AA
>oops, you're in mortar range. They also know where you are all the time, wtf do they need spotter towers for?
>oops, your strategems are slow, random, huge cooldown
>still only get 10 minutes
you forgot bug blitz missions usually come with spores that disable the entire minimap, but i'll agree the bot ones are total shit.
>Bot blitz mission:
>bring spear
>win
I don't understand how the spear can be so shit and buggy.
>can't even kill a hulk in one shot
>can't lock on to shit
>can only carry 3 missiles
>ammo boxes don't replenish missiles but allow you to still pick them up
This let me solo POI with charger without bringing a railgun and it's great.
Also shows breaker supremacy again
>It's the Detector Tower episode where the game won't let you call a hellbomb and all your stratagems bounce like rubber
I've discovered you can actually plant the hellbomb at the bottom of the cliff the detector tower is on and it will still destroy it.
Is that better or worse than scrambler cluster bomb on the spawn games?
is there any means whatsoever to pop a Detector Tower besides a hellbomb? I don't understand how you're supposed to blow one up quietly as it is when I'm 99% sure they turn towards any source of noise and/or can see right at the foot of themselves outside the Eye of Sauron beam, completely nullifying the 'very slow lighthouse turnaround' aspect of their design.
Orbital Precision Strike can take them out.
you mean the imprecise single cannon shot nobody uses for any length of time because almost anything else can do one or many or all of its jobs better?
Orbitals in general are hard to love right now when Eagle callins are so good with a 2 minute cooldown whenever you happen to run out or rearm manually.
eagle strike is inconstant
orbital laser is probably the most reliable but I haven't tested much
*inconsistent
you can blow them up with other strats, but sometimes it's hard to call them in the right spot because the game wont let you call strats on top of the tower
So do laser weapons just suck ass?
sadly yeah, the scythe has seen a pretty heavy fall from grace from how good it was in HD1 and the cannon doesnt penetrate medium armor, the only two laser weapons that are good are the laser dog and orbital laser.
scythe is definitely better vs bots than it is against bugs, thanks to raiders and devastators having such squishy heads.

send help
I'm really bad at this
I wouldn't even know where to paste this tbh.
If you stick it in the url bar of your browser it should make steam start helldivers 2 and join the game but..
#0495-2206
There's a friend code.
why are 99% of players names like
makes calling shit out really annoying. I have crossplay off too, never seen other games do this
Number names are chinks. I don't know why.
the real bugs are the chink team mates
74 hours in im pretty tired of fighting nonstop armored targets just to get super samples
I think higher difficulties should spawn more lesser enemies rather than just inundate you with 5 chargers + 2 bile titans every 10m
>no im not gonna switch off the arc thrower, a youtuber said it was good!
i have never and will never use the virgin thrower
I CLOSE MY EYES TO SLEEP AND ALL I SEE ARE BUGS
There's a devastator on my bedside table.
im wondering how many people went back to try the first helldivers game. kinda wondering if the population grew because of the success of the sequel.
i got it "free" on ps+ years ago but the game was pretty much dead.
How do you stick stratagems to big bugs? The precision strike seems much better when you are able to do that.
the strike lands wherever the stratagem initially landed, it doesn't matter if it moves while stuck to a bug
only red strikes do that, blue strats land wherever the timer hits zero, if you want to see it for yourself, stick a resupply beacon on someones shield the next time they piss you off, its hilarious to watch them flail.
Can I get one of the cheater-kun's to 'accidently' give me samples? frick farming
How do I properly use one of the rockets? Most big enemies just shrug off a rocket, so I assume I'm aiming wrong.
For Chargers I generally aim at the side (first to get rid of the armor, then to cook the squishy bits beneath) or at their ass when they charge past. they typically don't one-shot them, but getting rid of the armor lets you use your main weapon to kill them.
>laser drone
For higher difficulties you're better off not bringing it, avoiding patrols and aggro plays a bigger part in your runs and the drones pretty much sweep 360 degrees around you to set off every pod within eyesight without killing all that much
>You're supposed to fill the battlefield with them, summoning more whenever they go on cooldown so you always have a shitload of single-use missile tubes available.
Again on higher difficulties you're going to have to deal with more than one Hulk or Charger per minute, there's no way to make a surplus of them unless there isn't anything to shoot at all
Plus holding areas isn't really on the table anyway unless it's a Extermination mission
a-anyone play with an rx 580 8gb haha??
yes, on medium. you're probably good anon.
For some reason I was playing the game and got sent back to ship with no explanation.
Is this a bug?
yes
These weather conditions fricking suck
>Cant see 5 cm in front of you
>Bots all have helldivervision
Perhaps a new kind of team booster could help. Something that lets you see through clouds.
give it to me straight, the JAR-5 Dominator. how bad is it?
its not bad, just needs rebalancing like 90% of the weapons
>had 'explosive trait' which was later removed
>is in 'explosive' class of weapons
>dominator's rounds do not at all explode on impact like the scorcher
it's a poorer damaging magfed Slugger with sway like an HMG that makes accurate shot placement a chore. Unpleasant to use, less effective than putting Breaker cones on weak points.
I am new and my gear sucks just got to lvl 9 what am I supposed to be using?
I'd assume YT tierlists are for tryhards and trannies of which I am not
Expendable anti tank rocket launchers
recoiless rifles
eagle airstrikes
mortar sentries
the usual stuff.
>plant mortar sentry
>host dies to it
>immediately kicks me
bros...
If you bring mortars to bug planets then you deserve it.
Even when running Jump Packs and hopping on some otherwise unaccessible rocks I still somehow get hit by friendly mortars when there are no bugs around. Shit's fricked.
upgrade to the EMS mortar
is armor still bugged?
yes
What are the lowest CD strategems that can potentially pop armor? I know precise orbital strike can with EMS support, airburst can but it'll take a few barrages and 110kg might be able to but it feels more unreliable even with direct hits.
>player walks into a landmine and gets turned into soup
>i pick up their samples on the way to the extract
>as soon as they respawn they fricking magdump into my head and take the samples back
>they continue to TK me until someone else TKs them because we were running low on reinforcements
why the frick does everyone get so touchy when you grab their samples?
do these morons not know they're shared
i told them that and i got caveman responses in return about stealing their shit
its like the 3rd or 4th time its happened to me, people lose their shit when you take their shield backpacks too.
this post has been fact checked by patriots, and it's objectively false. propaganda.
Honestly, it's the high level shit that are tryhard
bonus point if they're lugging a shield/railgun
that article was written by a woman so it's invalid anyways
>everyone
i have never seen this ever happen
>own every strategem
>working on ship upgrades
>Picked up a few useful light armors from SC shop using SC earned in game
>Experimenting with various loadouts on difficulty 7
kino
Diff 7 is just so much more fun than 9. I had 14 chargers on one sub objective in a diff 9 earlier.
Ive just started so will probably just do low level missions for a while. But is it worth asking what threats I should be aware of and ready to have an answer for as I go higher? On Darktide I had the idea if my loadout could deal with Crushers it could handle mostly anything.
Once you're at level 5 or above missions, make sure you always have a stratagem able to handle heavily armored frickers.
The first ones you get will be EAT-17, Recoilless rifle and orbital precision strike (although this is slow af)
Thanks, Ill keep that in mind.
Also if I can ask, I was on my second mission and grabbed a grenade launcher and started shooting at one of the big bugs that give you the armor symbol with a smaller gun. I died right after to an explosion. Does grenades bounce off armored enemies or could it have been friendly fire?
yes, chargers are completely invulnerable to small arms fire from the front, one of your grenades ricocheted off its armor back into your face.
Grenades and even bullets can ricochet off of armour and into you or your teammates.
have 2 stratagems for armor piercing, 1 for crowd control and 1 for utility.
Thanks, Ill get right on it.
Armored enemies, they force you to use stratagems to deal with them, invest in decent AT capabilities especially if you know you're going against them, like in Brood commander missions
report from smoke grenade experiments.
>if a group isn't aggro'd it basically flips off their AI so they'll happily stand in any call down you throw into the smoke
>raw dogshit if you're trying to ninja your way out of combat at best you can get a breather from ranged attacks but you aren't going to get the AI KO it does if they're unalerted
I was testing against chargers but it's probably far more useful against bots since I'm fairly sure they won't use ranged attacks if they're in smoke. It was pretty interesting that hunters won't blindly leap through smoke or while in smoke
>recoilless rifle
>is a rocket launcher
