I can understand that, but looking back at the first game and all its dlc there really isn't anything that's glaringly overpowered, the most powerful/fun strats like mechs are limited on ammo and they can actually be 1shot by larger enemies like chargers. The DLC packs tend to have a theme that purely intends to add flavour to the game by giving you more specialized strats and gear, not more powerful strats and gear.

The chargers have armor, so you need an anti armor weapon like the disposable rocket launcher to blow holes in the armor first
Chargers will aggro one person and chase them. Just get your mates to aggro the rest of the horde, and solo the charger by diving out the way when he charges.
Once he stops and pauses with his back turned, just shoot his ass until it blows open.
Either that or blast his sides with a recoilless rifle

The difference between levels 7 and 10 is nothing. A couple of hours tops. As for gitting gud.... just git gud? Keep playing. I dunno... what problems are you having? Difficulty 4 is still on the low side so you can make just about any loadout work - it is not an equipment issue. Just pick what you want and keep playing and improving
The difference between those levels is having clusterbombs and jetpacks and not having clusterbombs and jetpacks. pretty big deal if you ask me
bring the EAT or autocannon and stick with medium armor, never stop running, don't fight patrols, turrets are your friends
you can't actually pay to win, unless there's a way to buy medals and requisition points. Get good with the precision strike stratagem. Get EAT and prioritize getting the breacher shotgun, would also recommend autocannon or grenade launcher. sentries are amazing outside of the machine gun. Eagle airstrike is fantastic, also eagle stratagems aren't limited they just go on longer cool down when it needs to rearm.
If your friends are willing to carry you through lvl 4 and 5 for a few missions you'll be fine.

I play bot missions more than bugs so I usually run EAT/Recoilless rifle to deal with the heavies and eagle strats to deal with outposts. Auto cannon is too bouncy for my liking. Also being able to OHK a dropship is so monumentally useful for your team im shocked no one else attempts it.
I know the rockets would be more practical a lot of the time, I just love the autocannon too much. Luv me big guns.

Normal can be pretty easily done solo. Challenging is rough but doable at higher levels. Hard is pushing it. Anything above that you're pretty much gonna spend most of the game running away. It's doable but unfun. You really need a full team for the hardest difficulties.

Yeah, love both. HD2 I would describe as a kind of tactical EDF. You still have the orbital strikes, air strikes, mass carnage potential, but it's smaller in scale and in service of tactical objectives. EDF is at its best when it doesn't even try to ground itself at all and allows for unrestricted destruction of entire cities with pocketfuls of nuclear firecrackers. Very different types of games despite seeming so similar at a first glance. I guess what I'm saying is there's no guarantee that if you love EDF you'll like this. I would still say you should give it a good look at least.

Btw setting the game to exclusive fullscreen helped my crashes loads.
Eagle airstrike can clear a small nest in one pass and clear up a good number of holes on larger ones. Grenade launcher also closes holes.
don't forget autocannons can also close holes. For anons who don't know, reload the autocannon at less than 50% mag when soloing to get a much faster clip load

Helldivers aren't regular Joe's. You can see the regular infantry laying around crash sites, dead in outposts, or packed into cubes by the dozen when fighting robos. Helldiver missions are special operations behind the front line.

it can pop 1shot bug heads reliably, brood commanders take 2-3 shots, the handling is ass (big inertia when swinging around) and the projectile speed is slow. At least it's explosive so it can stun

it's a bit clunky to use, but actually feels and hit like a bolter unlike the first explosive rifle from the premium warbond

It was actually the controller. I saw a post about it and thought "there's no way a controller bugs the game out". I unplugged it and it booted fine, I plugged it back in and it bluescreened me.
The night missions are so good, even if I don't see shit sometimes.

you can unlock all of them but they require rare samples for tier 2 (challenging <) and then the pink ones which are only on the 'red' last 3 difficulties starting with suicide mission irrc

Stalkers are turbo buffed in this game. They will tank an entire mag just to ragdoll and frick you over. God forbid your mission has more than one test.

Pretty disappointing that every gun besides basic AR, SMGs and breaker shotty is useless. I found a single use for penetrator, but it's still so weak it's not worth the trouble equipping it. I ended up using uzi most of the time, ar23p is just so bad at everything except removing armor plates from medium-armored bugs.
You need to work in pairs, one removes the armor, and the other finishes the bug off. Or you could finish it yourself with uzi. But execution is so slow you're better off reloading a railgun.
