I'm a Super Citizen, Anon. Battle Pass is extremely forgiving, zero FOMO other than pre-order bonus, and you can grind the medals needed to unlock the next battle pass ahead of time, because there is no time limit for when they can be earned, and the same medals are used for all passes. It might be one of the best GaaShits done right, unironically.

I will happily eat every word I said against the 'anti-cheat' if their service is actually nuanced and dynamic in a way that puts everything else to shame, justifying the always online, and (arguably) invasive anti-cheat as some sort of legitimate security measure for the network.
I am still convinced based on everything pve that it is egregious, but shit, those gameplay videos are already hot shit. Just gotta see the campaign in action over a period of time.

You mean by a single troony who has since retired, right?
I was so hyped by the video I am suffering severe cognitive dissonance between my disdain for kernel-level bullshit and my deep seated desire to play all dat!
Not surprised about the monetization. Anyone who played the first knows they released a lot of kits that were over powered and even needed to beat cyborg helldives for money. But I want to see more from the call downs. I loved loading out with the quicker and more re-usable things like strafing runs and napalm, and just constantly calling down hell like some kind of 13F. I still wish they stayed with the old style
Game looks great, honestly, I don't know what warbonds are but I assume they're like cosmetic or weapon micro transactions. It seems like you can get some in game currency that could also be used to buy them maybe? That's a good step if nothing else, better than it not being there, if that's the case.
I wonder if there's interesting enough secondary/non mission stuff to do in missions. What I enjoyed from DRG with the randomly generated maps, was looking for gold and other special minerals and such along side the actual mission and I couldn't really tell if that was a thing in this game.
This looks so bad compared to the first game. And I don't mean the visuals I mean the gameplay. Helldivers was all about the limitations of the top down camera and players sharing the same screen. The devs went all into making that chaotic experience where collaboration was necessary but also accident prone.
Helldivers 2 looks like it has nothing going for it.
Every outlet that has played it says that it is even more chaotic now because the new perspective means you do not know at all times where your squadmates are, leading to even more accidental deaths.
It's hard to put it into words but the chaotic nature of the first game was fun because you could see everything that was happening. Killing your teammates because you couldn't see them sounds less fun. Like.. the limitations of the top down camera and the game being designed entirely around it made the first game what it was. I just don't see it converting into third person too well and based on the videos it doesn't.
Every outlet that has played it says that it is even more chaotic now because the new perspective means you do not know at all times where your squadmates are, leading to even more accidental deaths.
Chaotic wasn't really a good thing on helldives. It was impossible to beat a helldives if you weren't working as a team and killing every scout possible before it could alert because once a scout alerted on helldives it was near impossible to stop fighting. So it makes me wonder how that kind of mechanic will playout in the sequel. My guess is they won't even both with the whole enemy scout unit anymore.
Damn I wish I could recover my old ps3 account and look at my stats.
I bet it'll be easier to pinpoint and take care of scout units when you can actually see further than a 50 yard radius around your squad.
That's assuming there even are scouts. I didn't quite see anything that seemed to have the same effect. It looked more like there were simply "enemies" and if they were alerted then some general alerts and other stuff could cascade.
Yeah that's what I was getting about with not even bothering. Just seemed like as soon as they landed they were fighting. No scouts sending off flares or anything.
I had always hoped that for the sequel they would keep the top down, but it would be an entire platoon or even company of different squads working together in a larger fashion to match the invasion and defensive themes of the narrative. Imagine if you had some artillery squad calling danger close and wiping out some friendly squad or something.
>Like shared screen, but only per squad
Exactly. Each squad could have a different purpose, like recon or assault or artillery etc. I feel there was some fun ways to take the top down multiplayer game play and expand it.
Since this game is in a more "intimate" third person that can show more, it will be cool if it's more than just battlefields. Like maybe go inside an enemy hive, or a cyborg industrial facility, or whatever.
Looks like they sent similar footage to a variety of outlets - but only the Nips and hispanics had the wherewithal to release it uncut without some "games journalist" talking over the splices clips is if they know anything.
Still talking over it, but at least it's uncut
yet-another badass just presenting the material as is.
I think the case here is because Japanese audiences tend to digest media on mass transit, so having spoken audio isn't well received compared to text. Not sure how that explains being uncut... heh heh heh. Just kidding. We know about that.
It will probably be the same as Helldivers 1, so solo will suck. No AI teammates, just you and you have a predetermined number of lives until you can't respawn anymore. It's really a multiplayer game.
Man this looks cool but I refuse to install rootkit drm shit onto my pc. Also no Deck support and MTX is a double whammy for me writing it off.
Why is it so hard to just put out a solid co-op experience without live service fluff? I'll take Payday 2 or Vermintide's israelite DLC over this honestly.
>I refuse to install rootkit drm shit onto my pc
If you've played any remotely popular multiplayer game in the last decade, you already have. All anti-cheat software works this way.
>if you've played any remotely popular multiplayer game in the last decade
I have not because they're all slop. I still play TF2 but that's basically it, otherwise it's fighting games (no DRM for many), RTS and niche titles.
Have no interest in garbage like Valorant, battle royale crap, or mobas.
This game, Rise of Ronin, and DD2 all look really good. Unfortunately the winds are blowing and it seems like ER's DLC is about to drop at any second. Until I play Shadow of the Erdtree nothing else is getting my full attention.
This but DD2. In fact you could say the wind is pushing me. Either way it's shaping up to be a good year, it's just a shame things are dropping so close to each other rather than being spread out a bit more. I'm hoping the ER DLC will at least drop a bit later in Q2.
Adding kernal level rootkit DRM that's notoriously shitty.
All to protect their MTX shop. Steam forums are a shitshow and everyone is mad, their damage control amounted to "we need to protect our game's integrity and it's not actually about cheaters :)". It's a goddamn co-op game, it's completely unnecessary overkill when it's already always online crap.
A kernal level anti-cheat. Not trying to defend it, but it's nothing new if you've played any asian games or even call of duty on pc
I don't play that garbage but I DO care about co-op games. DRG, L4D, EDF and Vermintide don't do anything this egregious.
EAC is also a "kernal level rootkit DRM that's notoriously shitty." So many clowns saying this stuff without having a single clue what any of it means.
Honestly though using steam as a metric for "angry consumers" is stupid. Those gays complain about everything. I don't like this crap in my games, but I'm tired of all the crying about it. I just want to see more of the game.
Why call me a shlomo? I don't care dude. I'm sorry. It's not securom or any of the old drm. Those days a long behind us. I bought the game and I just hope its good.

>another thread where it's impossible to discuss the game because PCBlack folk are crying about anti-cheat
God Ganker is such a shithole of a board
Because the more people accept "the new normal" the less pushback shit like this receives. It's already bad enough consolegays allowed MTX in full priced games without bashing them enough to push back, now decent looking co-op games are having invasive shit when there is zero reason for it. Nobody, and I mean nobody cares about cheaters in co-op. They can be kicked. The anti-cheat isn't even for the consumer it's for the protection of MTX when the game already needs to phone home and be online anyway.
EAC is also a "kernal level rootkit DRM that's notoriously shitty." So many clowns saying this stuff without having a single clue what any of it means.
Won't buy a game with EAC nor Helldivers 2 unless it removes the DRM, simple as that.

The monetization sounds good. Everything's earnable in game with no time limited content, the only question mark left is how fast you earn the currency but we won't know that until it launches.
I'm not going to get mad prematurely.
Arguably the BP since you they might put some-thing op in a paid one that encourages you to shell out cash to get it quick.
Armour sets all have stats too, so even the 'cosmetic' only store technically gives you bonuses, but the devs have stated that nothing unique in regards to utility or stats is given soley to paid stuff.
Warbonds contain guns and armors, you unlock warbonds with premium currency.
We don't know how long it takes to earn enough of it to afford a warbond, could be 20h could be 200. Obviously they want to incentivize you to buy it instead of grinding it
Literally nothing, people have completely misunderstood how the game works. Then you have morons like

No, it doesn't. Just like Helldivers 1 you get passives you attach to armor. Armor itself has no value outside of there being light, medium and heavy.

I've looked through the Discord and found nothing stating that they can be swapped and a lot stating they're fixed.
Yeah which are purchasable via currency earned in game. I don't get what's P2W about it unless the earn-rate is absolutely horrific, which we won't know until launch. You're getting mad prematurely.
I know right? I've been waiting for a game like this for years. Aliens Fireteam Elite was close but this has a much larger scale closer to EDF. I have got to try it at least.
>monthly battle passes >microtransaction store >always online with denuvo and a rootkit anti-cheat >No content at launch, a lot of stuff that was in the first game at launch is gone
>Bi-monthly battle-passes that never disappear and can be obtained for free. >That can be brought with earned currency and has no weapons >Like the first game, excluding the nothing-burger anti-cheat >It's a different engine and basically different game, no shit they can't port every-thing.
It's actually worse with Helldivers 2 because it looks fairly decent but then has the israelite shit on top
PD3 nobody thought was going to be good after the disaster of the beta preview, and as a huge PD2gay I saw all the redflags and didn't bother to buy it. Then a month after its release felt vindicated because holy shit was it even worse than I expected apparently.
Honestly all of the shit surrounding HD2 is stuff I can ignore, just the concept itself is not enticing. >Helldivers 1... but TPS and with higher fidelity
One of the three enemy factions is gone. Most of the weapons. Only a few stratagems currently in the game. Most weapons, armor, stratagems etc will be for real money or as part of the battle passes.
No, and its a vast improvement on HD1. >HD1 >DLC launches every 3-6 months which add weapons/stratagems >Literally the definition of P2W has each DLC had stuff in it you could ONLY get with real money >HD2 >Everything is unlockable with in-game currency
Music doesn't seem as hype as the first game. Might seem minor, but it did a lot to sell me on the feel of the game during the intense parts of level 9+ missions.
There's no way to know if the game is p2w until it launches and we get some numbers to calculate how many hours it takes to unlock one warbond.
Just don't pre-order it
>Make shit up >Get called a moron >s-shilling!
No you're just a moron desperate for another shazam shitpost spree. The game could still be dogshit but to be this desperate to just lie about it is pathetic.

or the mission was easy enough that the rambo camera ignorers were having fun blasting shit while camera attenders had the extremely entertaining job of running after them to keep up their vision so they didn't get themselves killed and only ever getting to shoot a few leftovers
bonus points for people without le dlc memeboots dragging the camera, getting people scouted

It's what people are hoping for.
Just about, yeah.
No thanks, I'm waiting for EDF6
seems like a generic shooter now. if it wasn't third-person view it would have been even more generic.
I had always hoped that for the sequel they would keep the top down, but it would be an entire platoon or even company of different squads working together in a larger fashion to match the invasion and defensive themes of the narrative. Imagine if you had some artillery squad calling danger close and wiping out some friendly squad or something.
This would be pretty cool. Like shared screen, but only per squad, where each squad had agency to itself
Like maybe go inside an enemy hive, or a cyborg industrial facility, or whatever.
why would you pirate an online co-op game
Because shazam posters are bored and trying to find flops is all that sustains them
>when the proper gameplay footage finally comes and its even more hype than you thought
Thank fricking god we've have no good coop shooters in ages
>Finally proper gameplay footage
>But only for Nippon
What did the Swede mean by this?
they aren't hiding from the EDF audience, rather they are going directly for them is how I took it
Looks like they sent similar footage to a variety of outlets - but only the Nips and hispanics had the wherewithal to release it uncut without some "games journalist" talking over the splices clips is if they know anything.
No I don't know about that, explain.
Japanese are uncut
What?
Can't you also play it solo? Makes the anit cheat even more moronic nevermind the fact that a pve shouldn't even have one to begin with.
Do some research on their particular choice of DRM
I think this looks fun but its yet another game optimized like hot garbage which takes over 100+gb of space and is chock full of chinese DRM shit.
Would have been an immediate buy if not for fricking over PC players
It's a co-op game, stop doing this shit already.
What are they doing to PC?
A kernal level anti-cheat. Not trying to defend it, but it's nothing new if you've played any asian games or even call of duty on pc
No pre-load 🙁
Adding kernal level rootkit DRM that's notoriously shitty.
All to protect their MTX shop. Steam forums are a shitshow and everyone is mad, their damage control amounted to "we need to protect our game's integrity and it's not actually about cheaters :)". It's a goddamn co-op game, it's completely unnecessary overkill when it's already always online crap.
I don't play that garbage but I DO care about co-op games. DRG, L4D, EDF and Vermintide don't do anything this egregious.
Doesn't Vermintide use Easy Anti Cheat?
Yeah, but every-one is used to EAC so no-one cares.
Okay shlomo
Complaining and getting the devs' attention is better than remaining complacent on an issue, no matter how "annoying" it may be
Why call me a shlomo? I don't care dude. I'm sorry. It's not securom or any of the old drm. Those days a long behind us. I bought the game and I just hope its good.
Won't buy a game with EAC nor Helldivers 2 unless it removes the DRM, simple as that.
So go play the ones that don't have this. Why shit up threads on a game you will never buy or play? Some crap with the enigma drm stuff. Why shit up dragon's dogma threads if you gays won't or can't buy it?
shlomo
>Pirategays on the pirate platform get their just desserts
>Don't even own their own digital single player games at that
Consoles looking real good these days.
>another thread where it's impossible to discuss the game because PCBlack folk are crying about anti-cheat
God Ganker is such a shithole of a board
A few pc gays are complaining sBlack. Most of these gays like yourself don't actually play games. I'm hoping to have a good time with my friends in this game.
>"A few"
>literally every thread on the game is dominated by said posts
Who are you trying to convince? Scroll up and you'll see it for yourself you lying shit eater.
Yeah who cares dude. Sorry for wanting to discuss a game I'm exited about. You gays will never play or buy these games so who cares. Ganker sucks as much as twitter, reddit and resetera to talk about games.
That's the fricking problem
The game DOES look cool. But many are not willing to compromise their PC for a fricking videogame.
People should b***h about it because with enough pushback the devs might wake the frick up and remove it, it's not unheard of. Helldivers 1 didn't have this either.
You should like, be a lobbyist and get a real job with how you incessantly b***h about what's accepted as an anti-cheat.
>Yeah who cares dude.
I do, I want to be able to discuss the game without 90% of the thread being PC gays whining about DRM.
P2W Game
The monetization sounds good. Everything's earnable in game with no time limited content, the only question mark left is how fast you earn the currency but we won't know that until it launches.
I'm not going to get mad prematurely.
P2W, not cosmetics, items with buffs like in a shitty korean grindan mmo
What’s in the game that’s P2W?
Then you have morons like
making shit up
moron? All armour sets have a special effect (like better throwing) and unique stats, and if the grind for SC is long, my first point stands.
No, it doesn't. Just like Helldivers 1 you get passives you attach to armor. Armor itself has no value outside of there being light, medium and heavy.
Lie I said you're a moron who is misunderstanding the system, now stop posting.
https://twitter.com/helldivers2/status/1752723443055800716
All armour sets have passives. Store sets share passives with non-store ones.
Again, they're passives you can earn in-game and attached to any armor EXACTLY like helldivers 1. They've already talked about this on the discord.
The cosmetics store =/= armor abilities.
Post it then.
>The monetization sounds good
Anon, I want to be optimistic too but earnable premium currency has never been in favor of the players
>The monetization sounds good
>it's a pay to play game with additional premium currencies
loving every laugh
>monetization sounds good
have a nice day immediately you corporate wienersucking homosexual Black person.
Holy frick this looks amazing
I know right? I've been waiting for a game like this for years. Aliens Fireteam Elite was close but this has a much larger scale closer to EDF. I have got to try it at least.
So is this live service slop or what
Yes
>monthly battle passes
>microtransaction store
>always online with denuvo and a rootkit anti-cheat
>No content at launch, a lot of stuff that was in the first game at launch is gone
Well looks like I'm not buying it then, thanks anon
>Bi-monthly battle-passes that never disappear and can be obtained for free.
>That can be brought with earned currency and has no weapons
>Like the first game, excluding the nothing-burger anti-cheat
>It's a different engine and basically different game, no shit they can't port every-thing.
Wow, it's like I'm seeing Payday 3 again.
Why do these "people" insist on not making a good co-op game?
It's actually worse with Helldivers 2 because it looks fairly decent but then has the israelite shit on top
PD3 nobody thought was going to be good after the disaster of the beta preview, and as a huge PD2gay I saw all the redflags and didn't bother to buy it. Then a month after its release felt vindicated because holy shit was it even worse than I expected apparently.
Honestly all of the shit surrounding HD2 is stuff I can ignore, just the concept itself is not enticing.
>Helldivers 1... but TPS and with higher fidelity
>a lot of stuff that was in the first game at launch is gone
Like what? The only thing I can think of is the APC
One of the three enemy factions is gone. Most of the weapons. Only a few stratagems currently in the game. Most weapons, armor, stratagems etc will be for real money or as part of the battle passes.
>Most of the weapons. Only a few stratagems currently in the game.
You have literally no way of knowing this lmao
No, and its a vast improvement on HD1.
>HD1
>DLC launches every 3-6 months which add weapons/stratagems
>Literally the definition of P2W has each DLC had stuff in it you could ONLY get with real money
>HD2
>Everything is unlockable with in-game currency
I hope it will be good.
I just hope the game actually runs well.
This being 100 Black personbytes and having such steep requirements compared to the graphics has me worried.
that HUD is fricking hideous
So this one requires actual tactics not just fun bug shooting?
The first one did, anyway. We'll see about 2.
Music doesn't seem as hype as the first game. Might seem minor, but it did a lot to sell me on the feel of the game during the intense parts of level 9+ missions.
I think it's not too bad. At least they nailed the objective complete jingle
The important question is.
Can I still nuke the bugs?
There's no way to know if the game is p2w until it launches and we get some numbers to calculate how many hours it takes to unlock one warbond.
Just don't pre-order it
>there's no way to know
lol
First day playing video games or just a israelite shill?
>israelite shill
Black person I'm telling people not to buy the game
Stop attempting to use a brain cell, anons are allergic to them.
What are the perks of preordering anyway? Apart from two and a half cosmetics that'll very probably look like shit and oust you as a preordercuck?
Literally just the cosmetics
3 armor recolors, there's no reasoning with preordering morons
The damage control shilling ITT is unreal.
>Make shit up
>Get called a moron
>s-shilling!
No you're just a moron desperate for another shazam shitpost spree. The game could still be dogshit but to be this desperate to just lie about it is pathetic.
Not a single criticism posted in this thread is made up. The game is a gaas scam abomination. Pathetic marketer.
Ahh Warhammer like game but with soulless destiny vibe. Count me out.
>Slophammer invented everything
yikes
>nooo muh shared camera
frick that, good riddance
not sure about anything else in the sequel but I hated that
>but it forces you to be cohe-
nah, people just didn't and then died and you lost
or the mission was easy enough that the rambo camera ignorers were having fun blasting shit while camera attenders had the extremely entertaining job of running after them to keep up their vision so they didn't get themselves killed and only ever getting to shoot a few leftovers
bonus points for people without le dlc memeboots dragging the camera, getting people scouted
I fricking hated the shared camera. morons would afk or purposely frick the run because you did something that upset them. Probably the best change tbqh
Looks a lot better than I was expecting, I took their hesitancy to show more gameplay as a bad sign but maybe not after all.
Never heard about the game but damn. Those look like such fearless and strong men.
I wish the military looked this manly.
welcome to the botnet
