It's optional and has a skip button. Just like buying the battlepass shit with real money is optional regardless of what the official trailer says.

No it wasn't. It clearly says that it was mandatory. The skip button was only temporary and that was made explicitly clear on that same page.

When you try to play for the first time it asks you to link your PSN and says its mandatory. It also provides an option to "skip" for now.

Nobody is forcing you to make the account or using it. You put yourself in this situation. As shitty as it sounds. Helldivers 2 is still a first party Playstation title. So they have full authority over what happens to it.

EULA doesn't say anything about requiring a plus account to play it on PC.
If they do. They would have to update the EULA and have people sign it again. After this who thing. Someone is going to read that EULA and find that. Making another fiasco out of this.
Until that time comes. Everyone who skipped the account linking process are still under the EULA they signed to do so or no Helldivers 2 for them.

            Anonymous

There are tons of games that require a second account and it's used to store your data and progress, look at gtav for example. They dont allow it but at any time they could open it up that their progress transfers between consoles.

well this [...] And the few times Sony got hacked and had accounts leaked. Which is fricking horrible but people gloss over the fact fricking everything gets hacked every other year.
Linking your PSN account to your Steam account doesn't give PSN access to your Steam wallet or account information.

They are still stuck on that one time they shut psn down for a month it seems.

Some countries can’t technically create a psn account, so if you don’t want to lie when creating it you can’t play the game after this change happens. Also people are lazy and don’t want to create an account

Probably the countries with the most cheaters then. Again, i think this is to be able to keep track of cheaters and when they are banned they stay banned.

Well Ganker has always had a hard-on for hating Sony. Mostly legitimate reasons. Just Microsoft and Nintendo actively hide their account frick ups from the press. I remember that Xbox live would go down for like a week constantly back during the 360 days but for some reason nobody fricking talks about that.
Each of the big three frick up constantly. Sony just doesn't have a good PR person to keep them from being in the crosshairs when they do frick up.

Wasn't review bombed. It had legitimate CPU issues that it still has on PC.

not a review bomb per se as they don't allow it, but the same moronic backlash made the Escape from Tarkov devs roll back some pretty serious moronic shit last week
and we're talking about subhuman russians here

As per your own words wasn't a review bomb.

devotion got review bombed by chinks so hard that it was taken off of steam

I'm guessing none of these examples count for one reason or another

Literal legal trouble and not a review bombing.
Review bombs happen long after or before the release of something. Fallout 4 and Cyberpunk 2077 getting bombed with massive positive reviews due to their respective shows airing are a form of review bombing. Obscuring the actual view of the products through their love or hatred of something else later.

Anon. It wasn't review bombed. DD2 had legitimate performance issues on release. It's negative reviews were mostly spot on. Ran like shit due to the NPC Cpu issue. No new game plus, MTX although effectively pointless was still there. It was one of Capcom's worse optimized game releases in recent years.

He's right though. Review-bombs have a negative, game unrelated, association. If a game gets updated and it break the game, it will get swarmed with negative reviews because the reviews are legitimate and complaining about the game itself no longer working. One is a legitimate, natural, customer reaction. The other is a coordinated, off topic, effort to tank a game's value for reasons completely unrelated to the game.

Yes. The difference between review bombs and legitimate reviews is in fact. Legitimacy.
Review bombs are done out of emotion and knee jerk reactions.
If a game was a complete pile of shit and got a 2/10 around the world. nobody would say that a massive amount of negative reviews for it were a review bomb.
DD2 released like shit on steam. That was a legitimate score for DD2. Mind you it's score should be a tad higher now due to the addition of new game plus. the clarification of the MTX and some bug fixes but currently it still suffers from the CPU issue it is infamous for at the moment.

Reviews do nothing if people keep playing the game. The publisher will just nuke any review from the """"off topic"""" review period if they feel like doing so. You think the devs care about bad reviews? No, they care about money. Their game could be at mostly negative but if every idiot that left a review still kept playing they wouldn't do a fricking thing.

I seriously doubt this will affect it much so I wouldn’t worry. People are angry, but they’re not going to stop playing the game over it they’ll just make an account. Worst case scenario in my opinion is people from banned countries who are too stupid to make one leave in mass, but wouldn’t that overall be better for the game if they’re from 3rd world countries?
