>mind
there's your problem
Because piracy is illegal and you shouldn't do it.
Corporate greed is worse. Pirating 20 year old games isn't hurting anyone. It's bad for consumers to emulate, but Nintendo does it and makes consumers pay $50 for it. And it's rental. How's that fair? Because it's "legal" ?
>It's bad for consumers to emulate
It's not when Nintendo loves practicing shitty business practices. Man thinks pirating is bad when Nintendo charges for $50 rental rims, and the roms are better on illegal emulators.
>you're just renting it!
For a fricking year, don't forget that part.
OR i could just download it and keep it forever.
That isn't a business practice, that's you pirating it. They're not going to tell you to pirate, that's fricking stupid.
Ofc not. People pirate, because Nintendo can't get their shit together in the first place.
No anon, people pirate because they poor as frick or just want it for free despite having the money.
Don't act like people do it out of some moral principle.
Not them, but I absolutely do not doubt some people do it out of moral principle, they are just the vast minority, probably.
And yet owning a physical copy of OoT's remake is cheaper than renting the original for a whole year.
Good thing you're renting more than just Ocarina of Time.
Communist
Implying stealing from a billion dollar company is bad if they only care about emptying our wallets.
Sounds downright kosher
Its official. Speedrunners follow this in their own rules that are as arbiturary as anything, so autism too, I guess.
Everything depends on service. If someone feels like it's more convenient to pay, they will. I'm not moronic and I can just fire up m64p to play N64 games so Nintendo's service gives me no advantage whatsoever, but morons who can't use emulators will pay for ease of use, even if Nintendo's offer is actually more limiting in the end.
it's legal
mario if he real
>playing retro games on flat screen
oh no no no
>hey it's me, mario
I am not paying twice for games I bought brand new 15 years ago
Because they realize that people working in their freetime to preserve old games deserve it more than money grabbing publishers?
I'll never understand why obese people have this stand, like, stand up correctly you fricker you'll look taller and healthier.
It's not unique to fat people
crouching and sitting often
I want to play a game starring this dude, he's pure soul
Bro that's Mario
The guy from the Super Show?
OP, you ever heard of emulation fatgue? It's a real think. You have access to all this free shit, but you get burnout and never play any of them.
Nah, my problem is that a select few games are sapping up all my time. FTL and Creeper World and TF2 won't let me play anything else.
JUST MUST CONSOOOOOM
Is there a pirate edit for this already?
good luck pirating food
Did Hulu increase prices? I hardly ever use it
>Thread got pruned by the jannies so he has to do shit like this
Are shitposters mentally ill?
You can't afford all that? Do you not have a job?
>not being one of the many consumerist cattle means you're poor
Do you spend money on streaming services that there's not enough hours in the day to watch?
I don't understand the person on the right, I don't value anything that is digital only, like ever. Its not real. At least the person on the left is only involved with one worthless rental service.
the kick in the nuts is nintendo online is fricking atrocious and previously console-to-console in some games aka no servers even being fricking used.
A better question is understanding the mindset of somebody that feigns ignorance as to why anybody would pay to have old games on their Switch. Nobody was shouting "just emulate it!" for the Wii Virtual Console like they are now with the Switch.
A lot more third worlders on Ganker compared to the Wii era. Most of the current console war shitposters come from South America.
Because virtual console is a one-and-done purchase, you keep the games forever
Nintendo ambassadors yes that is a real thing
Nothing to understand really. They are exactly the uninformed, inexperienced consumers they appear to be. Capitalism would not work if your common citizen were not braindead with their money.
Does launchbox count as paying for emulation? I haven't, but the longer I go with an outdated pirated version the closer I get.
the new mario movie is looking good
I'm an idiot and setting up emulators to run properly without crashing or glitches and setting up the controls and dealing with plugins frustrates me. I'd rather just pay the money and play a nearly perfect emulation from bed on my Switch. Yes I know I'm moronic but there we are.
Not a zoomer here, I'm actually 30. Just have trouble with certain things like setting up even basic stuff. I've been able to do things like hack a PS Vita to pirate games and my 3DS but those had step by step guides and I still struggled for hours. Every time I try emulating I try the guides and read stuff but it always ends up messing up somehow. There are always issues.
This is acceptable if you are trying to emulate anything past N64 and PS. You should have 0 issues emulating retro games.
You see the
>Zoomers don't understand file systems
Article that was going around? Do you think these people can load a ROM into an emulator?
Zoomers don't understand filesystems because they don't actually have any incentive to, they don't *have* to. It's on the same level as that webm of a young child trying to use a device with buttons as a touch-device and being confused, it's a software generational gap and they're on a completely different wavelength with completely different requirements. If they had a reason to learn and use filesystems they'd be able to with no problem.
You, however, are straight delusional if you think a drag-and-drop menu is outside the scope of a slack-jawed moron, let alone a zoomer.
Licking Nintendo's boots is easier for them.
>Snoys poorgay seethes about it
>I pay it to spite them
Whatcha going to do it about snoyBlack? Get mad about it?
im not poor
why pay money when you could pay zero money?
especially when zero money gets you a higher quality experience than if you had payed money.
This guy is either a megachad or a serial killer
Piracy is a service problem. People that aren't poorgays or 3rd worlders are more than willing to pay for ports and emulation on modern consoles provided the service (games) are fair and equitable. For example, plenty of people bought the 4 Konami compilations because they're all priced fairly, or were handled by a competent developer (M2). People bought the Mega Man Legacy Collection for the same reasons. People begrudgingly bought SM3DAS because of FOMO. People typically pirate Nintendo's shit because Nintendo has ass history of NOT porting their most sought after games on modern platforms, charging an unreasonable amount for them, or outright refusing to localize them in the case of MOTHER 3 to the point where it's become a meme acknowledged by Reggie himself.
tl;dr: People pay for emulation when it's convenient, and pirate when left with no choice.
They have a job, disposable income and no time to hunt for ROMs or set up emulators in their PCs. They just want to turn on their console and play.
Help me understand the mindset of the sort of person who uses emulation. Are they NEETs that stay in front of their PCs all day?
I don't know having a job meant you don't have 10 seconds to spare googling "______ rom"
