I think the most important parts are the new locations and Mania theme. The Mania theme (that comes after a new composition by the way, but it's probably nothing so I'm not gonna start reaching that hard) plays at the end and throughout the entire thing they seem to go through some unknown areas.
The first is a desert zone with the ground that breaks- it's not Sandopolis cause there's no sand showers or any huge temples, and it's not Mirage Saloon cause there's none of the bars we can see- in fact there's absolutely nothing in there. Could be Dust Hill or a new zone, who knows.
Then they seem to go into Angel Island (if this is teasing a Mania 2 wouldn't surprise me there'd still be a few more small returning levels, and since AIZ is loved...) with Amy shown using her piko hammer to break the spikes (another easy mode similar to Mighty ?)
Finally they get into a city themed zone- this isn't Station Square due to how much it looks more like Studiopolis but it isn't that either because of how much calmer it is and the fact that we see grass and trees. This is a new zone. Cue Mania theme, main gang goes to the camera for a cool artwork pose, end cutscene.

I thought the AIZ section was Wood Zone at first because of an emphasis on a broken tree log that Knuckles jumps on, but with the amount of vines and the badniks used it is 100% AIZ (Mania did place many different zone elements into one though, so it could be a mix of Angel Island and Wood Zone).
That final section did remind me of those fanmade Genocide City acts but a bit more colorful and way less "spooky", so I don't know.
If the desert zone isn't Dust Hill, then it's a new zone (or another cut desert zone from Sonic 2, we know there were multiple iirc)
Having a Mania 2 based on cut zones would be really great, not only would it mostly feel new because most of those have not been playable but on top of that it could be pretty nice to see those old zones be given their time in the spotlight. If they want to tie a Mania 2 to Frontiers, it could work with the idea of the Phantom Ruby fricking shit up again and Sonic losing his memories somehow. Not sure how, but I'm sure it'd be pretty easy to figure something out.

There are multiple voices. The one in the first teaser is confirmed to be Amy, so I assume all the trapped characters can communicate like that. I don't know if the voice in the second teaser is Amy, might still be her. In the gameplay we hear a completely different voice, an older woman. I don't think any of these 3 is Sage. The older woman might be the one we saw in TailsTube.

The description we're given is that she is openly telling Sonic to get the frick off her island and forget his mission. Also we openly see her floating next to a titan robot like the ones that have been attacking sonic. How does that not give you the impression that she may be evil.
They looked fine. They were cartoony and exaggerated, which fits much better with a bipedal blue hedgehog that talks. I can believe they exist in the same world and that someone from Unleashed wouldn't find Sonic weird. Hell, it even feels like Eggman is normal comparatively
But the people from the Adventure series, or 06 stand out so much. Sonic would be a freak of nature to them
I like the toony and exaggerated aspects however they looked like generic cartoony characters that could be thrown in any kids game. Eggman had a particular style for a human that future human characters need to build off of, Sage is a good start.
I'll never understand the decision to give the characters weird ass blob feet. I'm not even a footgay, but it looks so uncanny when they already have relatively normal hands.

i don't think it was a design decision. tikal was the first character with exposed feet and i imagine they made them simplified because it was an early 3d game and after that they sort of followed suit without thinking to much about it

What the heck is Sonic fan's beef wit Green Hill Zone? GHZ is a nice starting level and a staple with Sonic's world. If Mario can have the Mushroom Kingdom and Peach's Castle and the Overworld theme then Sonic can have GHZ at LEAST. I don't see what the problem is, no other videogame world has an iconic, memorable land with lush and bright colorful checkered ground and literal scenic rolling hills. Is Sonic not allowed to have a familiar and reliable place to call home? Just because GHZ is in a game that's not StH1 doesn't mean every other level is a retread of old levels. Hell, I would LOVE to visit GHZ in real life.
The issue seems to be that they only really went all in on the GHZ pandering from Generations on when before while there were similar looking levels to start off with aesthetically they were still their own unique location so having it just be GHZ again and again with no variation when before there was variation pissed those fans off.
Mario never had anywhere near as much of a focus on environments and worldbuilding, so it's normal that Mario fans don't care about the locations in the games. Green Hill was not designed to be Sonic's home. It's a remote location on a mysterious legendary island that moves across the sea. We don't need to go to Green Hill at the start of every game, especially when it makes no sense within the story and world map.
Because Green Hill wasn't exactly reused as a starting level until Generations. Emerald Hill, Angel Island, Mushroom Hill, Emerald Coast, City Escape, Seaside Hill...

Generations gives it to you as a skill after you beat the final boss. Colors also lets you unlock it by doing the Sonic Simulator stuff.

If they want to tie a Mania 2 to Frontiers, it could work with the idea of the Phantom Ruby fricking shit up again and Sonic losing his memories somehow. Not sure how, but I'm sure it'd be pretty easy to figure something out.

What the heck is Sonic fan's beef wit Green Hill Zone? GHZ is a nice starting level and a staple with Sonic's world. If Mario can have the Mushroom Kingdom and Peach's Castle and the Overworld theme then Sonic can have GHZ at LEAST. I don't see what the problem is, no other videogame world has an iconic, memorable land with lush and bright colorful checkered ground and literal scenic rolling hills. Is Sonic not allowed to have a familiar and reliable place to call home? Just because GHZ is in a game that's not StH1 doesn't mean every other level is a retread of old levels. Hell, I would LOVE to visit GHZ in real life.

The issue seems to be that they only really went all in on the GHZ pandering from Generations on when before while there were similar looking levels to start off with aesthetically they were still their own unique location so having it just be GHZ again and again with no variation when before there was variation pissed those fans off.
Mario never had anywhere near as much of a focus on environments and worldbuilding, so it's normal that Mario fans don't care about the locations in the games. Green Hill was not designed to be Sonic's home. It's a remote location on a mysterious legendary island that moves across the sea. We don't need to go to Green Hill at the start of every game, especially when it makes no sense within the story and world map.

Is Forces even the only one with unlocked Super Sonic? As in, not exclusive to the final boss and multiplayer.
It's a thing in all games from Colours onwards. It was supposed to be in Adventure, but they cut it out and never bothered to try it again until Colors.
It was also initially planned for and cut out of Sonic 06 but then again so was half the game.
Generations gives it to you as a skill after you beat the final boss. Colors also lets you unlock it by doing the Sonic Simulator stuff.

If what they say is true with there being next to no 2D sections, I actually wouldn't mind them bringing back Forces originals like casino forest or metropolis and doing them justice by making them longer than 30 seconds each.
There was some reviewer who mentioned playing 2 3D sections and 1 2D section. So it's same old gambit.
This is a really fricking neat concept but it feels weird being as realistic as it is. Sonic team should've gone with something more like collision chaos + speed highway instead of corrupted realism like they did.

Sonic movement is clunky trash like in forces so I guess at that point it really doesn't matter if you have a fun city environment because it wont be fun to move sonic.
but you could for instance have rails along streets, overpasses, metro train lines, a wider more open city section below and highways above. building to jump across and wall run on ect.
sunset overdrive, Infamous and KH3 used these elements with varying success.
