I was on a short deadline, wish ubisoft had one! They made me wait so long for this game all that's left are skull and bones >drum kit explodes >audience dies
I'm not interested in love service games though. There's really nothing they can do to make me play them even if they paid me. Its like MMOs. I'll just never play them as they are boring and tedious. I only play traditional single player games like Zelda, Resident Evil, Final Fantasy, Dark Souls and so on. Games I can just go through the story and put the game away and never play it ever again.
"Live Service" games have embraced the mobile method of keeping you in the hamster wheel. They have a bunch of limited time events, daily quests, and stuff like that to keep you glued to the game and it disrupts your life. If they simply added new content that existed forever, I'd have much less of an issue. I am sick of deadlines, limited runs, seasonal events, and shit like that. I have a LIFE. I have shit to do. If I want to go do something else for a few months and not miss anything, I should be able to.
I don't understand how people become addicted to that. every game I've ever played (which is not many) that has used that model I've been turned off by immediately. I would have to force myself to stay invested once I realize a game is like that.
>They have a bunch of limited time events, daily quests, and stuff like that
what really sucks is that these things aren't bad, but they are used in bad way. I would love it if a game I loved had new shit for me to constantly have with fun every day. It's not required, but it is there. The idea is great. Imagine bloodborne and every day there was some new hunt to do on the side or some some new area opened up for the day. I'd play forever.
But nudevs don't look at this content like that. They design it in a toxic way. I hate nudevs so much...
All we want is an open world pirate game where you do all the shit in black flag AND have a real time economy, huge living world, countries to ally with or hunt, fleet/empire building, exploration and mystery, etc etc
it could all be done too, but no one wants to do it. The dev that does will instantly print money for decades to come
This game is basically Ubisoft 's worst nightmare. They're contractually obligated to release it by the Singaporean government due to the enormous tax breaks they've been given, otherwise they'll get their ass sued off. There has been massive employee churn and yearly leadership change who comes in and completely resigns the game every time, so the project has had basically zero direction for eight years. At this point, Ubi will do anything to recoup their costs, including releasing a blatantly unfinished game for full price WITH GaaS and MTX
because they're consistent about their beliefs. that narcotics are extremely bad for society and therefore trafficking must carry harsh punishments.
whereas in other nations, weed in and of itself is considered mostly harmless but the federal government can still put people in prison for decades for selling it. that's soviet tier bizarro shit
any country that has a populace that agrees and understands both: who is in charge, and what the rules are, is infinitely ahead of the west at this point
give me good faith totalitarianism over cynical mind rape anyday
Forgot about this lol I see no bigger red flag this game is going to be shit. Maybe even bigger than founders leaving and no review copies being given like with Suicide squad.
The thing that makes me sad about this, is the people who were right all along won't live long enough to say "I told you so" since the decline takes so long to hit full speed. For example, everyone in the late 1910s & 1920s telling you the new direction of the U.S.S.R was going to lead to collapse were probably all dead when it did, indeed, collapse after 70 years of suffering. These people telling everyone "it will only get worse" for 70 years as, year over year, it did indeed get worse but no one seemed to pay attention.
And we're seeing the same thing right now. Because, for some mysterious reason, these lessons of the past aren't taught in public schools of western nations aspiring to communism. The same way the events between the 20s and late 30s that led up to Germany flipping its shit before WWII are masked by screams of "muh holocaust" and literally illegal to ask about in some western countries. Truly a mystery.

Remind me again why is a country where you can get beheaded for smoking weed allowed to be considered a civilized nation?
Because drug addicts don't belong in a civilised society, sugar.

Ubisoft is so out of touch with video games, gamers, as well as reality. Honestly surprised that they're still in business.

This isn't even correct, most European governments in the age of sail worked under a mercantile system.

Yeah... I'll stick with my AA weebshit Ys: Black Flag rushed out with a development period of 2 years.
>vast
>complete
>live services
only two of these things can be true at launch
the game looks like shit, guy is a fricking moron
>they become even larger gaping buttholes every time they add an A
>the A's have been short for butthole this whole time
I guess it does sound about right.
So I guess he will resign when this shit super flops.
Nah from what he said we can tell the dude is a huge fricking narcissist, he will blame "the gaymers" before accepting he was wrong kek.
>will blame "the gaymers" before accepting he was wrong
why is this so common in the industry
>Asscreed Black Flag but again
>quadruple A
At least they're indirectly admitting it was their last good AC
Is this the game ubisoft got forced to make by the singaporean govt?
Yes.
They'd have probably cancelled eight times over now if not for that.
Frick that I can't wait for quintuple A. And then infinity A +1.
I thought this game came out and fell to the wayside years ago
You know something's not right when a game being complete at launch makes a headline, or is supposed to in the eyes of the suits
>game about pirates
>not even worth pirating
Thank you, Nolan
Why did you need the reddit screencap, you fricking cancerous moron? He's not even right. Halo Infinite came before this.
>quadrable A
>looks like it could be released on the ps3/360
>probably buggy, glitchy, and broken as much as any ubisoft release
>quadrable
lol
The goys will pay for it anyways. And there will be enough of the cattle, so this price and live service shit will become the new standard.
Looks like a PS3 game
Plays like a PS3 game
First AAAA release
I hope they lose even more money by releasing it
Isn't the AAA grading system something to do with bank credit?
