both zoomers and boomers suck at using computers

it's insane. People were saying that gen Z were going to all be computer wizzes because they grew up using tech. turns out that using ipads since you crawl out of your mom's vag actually turns your brain to mush.
Millenials and early gen X are actually the most competent with computers.

They grew up with tech that purposefully created for morons, it's not surprising it's cultivated a whole generation of tech morons. The real fun part is how proud they are at their own moronation.

iirc all the big wigs in tech have a strict control over what kind of devices their kids use and at what age they use it, because they know leaving your kids 24/7 watching skibidi toilet on the family iPad instead of actually taking care of them will turn your kids into complacent morons.

I work in tech support for a company and clients always complain about the "too many ads" problem in his workstations.
They always fall in the most simple scams, install apps of unverified sources, they ignore the "EXTERNAL email" warning in his inboxes, answer scam calls about toner and ink,etc

        >Like zoomers genuinely do not know you can install an ad-blocker
I met zoomers and they refuse in trust adblocking, because they say adblocks "broke" websites by the huge blank spaces where ads should be before you get to the end of the article and the answer is either a one sentence solution, or an obviously sponsored product/app solution of a shitty SEO website created by IA. They donate over $100 USD every week to ugly streamers (they can be fake, faces and voices created by AI) playing videogames and speaking to a old-fashioned mic. They didn't learn the hard lessons of early generations or they enjoy be scammed 24/7?

people aren't required to use computers anymore for basically any task. companies, doctors, parking lots, banks, dentists, workplaces, etc. prefer you download their phone app. and while the desktop website counterparts are somewhat functional, it's clear they're designed first and foremost for phones. it's infuriating since i've used my computer for everything and i can't access various important records unless i download a fricking invasive app on my phone. everyone has their own app now.

i've worked with people who were required to use computers for their job who still did the pigeon pecking style typing. typing was one of the skills i was taught in elementary school. hell, my grandparents were taught how to type on typewriters.

More and more companies will look at you with pity and or distaste when you can’t simply conform to your generational standard. You’re literally less of an asset because you won’t upgrade your technology, and it only confuses them, as they wonder what kind of broken human your age doesn’t upgrade his technology when the convenience opportunity cost is grand. I know you feel you’ve gotten one over on corporations and invasive apps, but it’s you who suffers, ultimately.

For local data it's fine, but for a big company a data base is the way to go, everything else is pretty much as you put it, although one can encrypt a password before sending it to the database.

No, databases don't generally encrypt stuff by default.
Encryption and decryption is a process the data is subjected to, it's not "free" regarding computation, so we don't just "encrypt everything" unless you are dealing with shit like medical records.

Only spider man 3 and Horizon 3 are likely because for whatever reason, both Guerilla and Insomniac have *just* enough non-woke devs to actually release a game on a normal schedule. Still baffling.

Reminder they also killed Rare, introduced paid online to online console gaming, want to strip all ownership away from the consumer by making everything digital-only on Xcloud and Gamepass, and all off their exclusives are mtx-riddled (Sea of Thieves) or pay-to-win garbage like, Gears4&5, Halo 5 and infinite.

It's also funny that some of you think buying Bethesda is going to save them. Bethesda hasn't made a good game since Skyrim, the rest of their games can't even hit metacritic scores of 80. Let's not also forget they let Bethesda put the Horse Amour DLC on the 360 marketplace back in 2007.
DLC (like they are now) was created and imagined by Microsoft alone, they first test was with their first party title, Mechassault 1 and it's DLCs, if they hadn't done that, microtranstations and other bullshit greedy DLC practices wouldn't even be a thing today.

Microsoft is the most greedy, anti-consumer, monopolistic, disgusting company there is. Stop defending their shit, Ganker.

The SERIES ASS is an shit cucksole designed to scam the consumer renting troony indie games and 14 year old 360 games like goyim cattle.

I'm not a fan of Sony, but Days Gone was only a failure because the mainstream Media hated it's 'heteronormativity as a plot point', they literally tried hating the game to death.

I actually quite enjoyed the game, and I encourage anyone curious to check it out, the Freakers are a genuinely interesting take on the whole zombie/infected idea, playing on the ravenous hunger aspect, they'll choke out areas of any food resources, because they're not JUST trying to eat people, they're just trying to eat, period.
they even turn on each other if they're hungry enough.

Cope, Microsoft is so ashamed of their garbage Xbox brand that they don't Report operating profit for its division.

"Revenue is only one piece of the puzzle, though. In terms of operating profit,–i.e. how much money a company makes after paying expenses–Nintendo leads the charge with $5.4 billion in terms of publicly disclosed numbers. Sony had an operating profit of $2.63 billion for its gaming division. Microsoft, meanwhile, does not report operating profit for its Xbox division"

            Sony:

            Revenue: $24.87 billion

Do you mean absolute exclusives or consoles exclusives? Because if we go by the former then PlayStation is the only one with exclusives even if they are only a couple of them as every xbox and nintendo game is on PC.

I don't know what this image is from, but it's a sad reminder that games take way too fricking long to create. Think of all the games that were released from like 1998 to 2002, and think of what is coming from 24 to 28

Literal delusion. Even small budget games from then were just as plentiful as right now. Shit, no one even used the term AAA game when talking about things like Half Life or Starcraft back they were just games.

            Anonymous

Each year has more games release now than they did in entire generations in the past if you aren't only looking at AAA garbage or what people would consider AAA garbage in the past.

It doesn't matter what people called them at the time, we can apply the standards backwards and define them as such.

The only one delusional is the one who thinks there aren't a shitload more games releasing that aren't AAA which is a demonstrable fact.

The Switch has over 4500 games. That's over 600 a year. The N64 in total has about 300 and the NES has 700. Even the handhelds only had like half as many despite being on the market twice as long.

It sounds like you actually agree with what I'm saying you just disagree on the facts of the numbers and that I used a modern term both of which is just moronation.

              Anonymous

My point is simply there are still as many small budget games now as before but there are less """"TRIPPPLE A"""" games than before. This is because development time has increased exponential. And not only that, dev time is MORE EXPENSIVE than ever before.
              >The Switch has over 4500 games.
And PSX has over 7000 games and was out for less time than the Switch. This is because it was cheaper to make games back then than it was now, so smaller devs could make cheap games and get a frick ton on their margins.

                Anonymous

There is a reason why engines like UE5 are focusing in making dev time faster, it is seriously the biggest problem the industry faces nowadays.
If you're a game dev you'll make 2 or 3 games in your entire career if you work in AAAs nowadays.

                Anonymous

All this is a non sequitur to your original fallacious assessment that more games come out now when you can show that more games came out during the breif lifespan of the PSX than the elongated lifespan of the Switch. Not only are small budget games are less, but so are AAA games. All this is your cope to the fact people pointed out that the games listed for '24 to '28 are far less than was released from '98 to '02.

I work IT at a decently sized company (1000+ employees) and zoomers are by far the most vulnerable to scams. There's been a noticeable decline in the mandatory security tests over the past 5 years. When you isolate by age it's all the zoomers.

              Exclusives are anti-consumer garbage.

The point of exclusives is to get you to buy something you don't need or want.

This is why ONLY handhelds should be bought besides PCs because they have an actual purpose that you want to buy the hardware for unlike knock off PCs. Make them come to you instead of being a moron buying things you don't want or need.
