A terrible first laptop considering the price. Even if it was cheap, those specs are way too frail nowadays, specially if the kid needs to have online classes.
What kind of online classes need more than a display and a video decoder? Like, it's kids, kids don't do Machine Learning or compile a hundred thousand lines of code.
I was about to pull some benchmarks, but no you're right, my mom's 10 years old craptop is still better than this thing. How?

>hey wanna make a quick buck selling shitty laptops to tech illiterate parents? >yeah! lets advertise minecraft on it too. kid likes those yeah?
It has XP/Vista specs at best.
How much is this thing? I just purchased the Steam Deck but I really didn't want it. Was thinking about cancelling and getting that if it's at the right price.
GPD devices aren't worth the hassle. > Ships with different downgraded parts. > Thumbsticks fall in on themselves. > Ships from factory broken, enjoy 2 month waiting period > Reddit consoom circlejerk around the main spokesperson who shills daily and never replies to any issues > Weird panel means enjoy trying to make anything but Windows work
One GX devices are at least serviceable. Don't listen to that one bugman who posts the Aya list repeatedly until them frickers show them working.
>search gaming pc on Amazon >first page is just computers that are thousands of dollars >switch to sort by lowest price >$300 rig >specs are so dated it will barely run even esports titles like fortnite at 30fps at 720p
shit like this is why normalgays think pc gaming is a scam. the performance you get at even $300 for a console now is MILES better than what this shit will get you >inb4 just build a pc
normalgays are never going to do that, the whole point is they are just going on Amazon and buying shit like this prebuilt or the laptop in the OP, getting shit performance, and then thinking they really do have to spend $8k on a computer to run fortnite at 60fps
yeah you COULD upgrade the gpu, but the point is the average person trying to get into pc gaming wont know how/why they would need to do that despite it being extremely simple.
The Mac craze probably has something to do with it.
People didn't need to care about specs, when they're getting the same homogenized computer.
But now the people who bought those are parents and probably didn't care enough to know about such things.
They don't even know about phone specs. Most people think a 100 dollar smartphone is the same as any other smartphone and get confused when their chinaphone overheats running whatever mobile game they downloaded.
I have three friends who studied game development. None of them have a PC. They even refused when I tried to gift them my old pc parts for them to complete a build. I'm convinced that this is why indie pixelshit needs a 7th generation i5, 8gb ram and a 1060. Because they don't have computers and don't know what the frick they are asking from the customers.
And I can't even tell if they are overcharging for that pc. That i5 can be generation 3 for all I know.
the marketing can be a bit confusing regarding pc components, but its still no excuse for someone in the industry to have no idea what they are talking about in a product they are releasing. sad state of modern developers who dont prioritize optimization at all since they have no idea what most people have >And I can't even tell if they are overcharging for that pc. That i5 can be generation 3 for all I know.
thats another huge part about why these builds are a scam. the average person who maybe knows a bit about cpus because they bought a laptop before may think an i5 or i7 must be good because its better than an i3, but they have no idea what generation it is or how old it actually is. its their own fault for not doing research but its very clearly intentionally misleading by these scam pc sellers
Is it upgradable? Or is the memory and hard drive hard soldered in the motherboard?
Not upgradable
is it cheap?
>$277
$277
>$277
$277
>$277
$277
>$277
$277
>$277
we live in a society
>intel HD graphic
There goes fortnite
>4gb ram
>integrated graphics
damn that would've been something I'd be into as a kid
>Intel Celeron 1.1Ghz
>4gb DDR4
>64GB storage
>Intel UHD 600
Man, what a piece of crap
Even as a working machine for writting, it's crap
What the frick this wouldn't even run vanilla MC well
ir prolly runs bedrock fine
Dumb Black person, PowerPC can still run MC fine.
The laptop is worse than a power pc you clown
This is literally supposed to be a kid's first laptop, which is why Minecraft is included. Obviously it doesn't have amazing specs.
nah this is supposed to be an ignorant parent's scam laptop
you can get far better specs on a laptop for the same money

That things can barely run the OS is comes with.
Adding a browser and streaming on that, is going to make it chug chug chugging on heavens door.
But the point is not that its a shitty laptop, its an overpriced shitty laptop.
I was about to pull some benchmarks, but no you're right, my mom's 10 years old craptop is still better than this thing. How?

That shit can't even run minecraft properly or any of the games kids like nowadays.
Should have packaged it with roblox.
it's tablet, but good
i think that's a decent low entry computer for basic tasks and simple games
this might've ran minecraft back before mojang went full moron
Hey, that's the switch's specs for less than a switch! Noice.
>my 12-year-old laptop has better specs than this
GPD Win Max 2, Coom
https://gpd.hk/gpdwinmax2
Looks like shit.
How much is this thing? I just purchased the Steam Deck but I really didn't want it. Was thinking about cancelling and getting that if it's at the right price.
No pricing has been revealed yet, its just a prototype for reviewers to test/feedback
I would wait until next year when they upgrade it with a AMD 7800U, the next review of it is the AMD 6800U version.
GPD > any chink handheld
When are they updating WIN3 with a slightly bigger screen/keyboard?
I don't think they are, it already says successor GPD Win 4

literally every single piece of PC hardware to ever exist
Nobody gets the top binned CPUs that reviewers have unless you buy it from a online store to opens them up to grade them.
>Win 3 ships with the AX210 WiFi chips
>Accidentally shipped with the wrong ones whoopsie oh well, deal with it.
Nothing to do with CPU.
>Celeron
Just get a Raspberry Pi at that point.
Got this for my 7 year old for $150...
He loves it, plays minecraft and roblox great, plus emulation works well.
For the price you might as well get a used Thinkpad that’s going to have better specs and build quality
Wrong board
and stay there
My local toy store sells these bundled with Xbox game pass and headsets
this is the laptop i have except it has a less shitty cpu
its not all too bad because i only play pre 2010s games

Gpu is fricked but depending of CPU it might be decent to upgrade, you pay for overpriced gay case anyway.
yeah you COULD upgrade the gpu, but the point is the average person trying to get into pc gaming wont know how/why they would need to do that despite it being extremely simple.
Still amaze me how fricking tech illiterate people are those days. At least made sense like 20 years ago, now you have all info on few clicks.

How is this pc for gaming?
bretty gud.
HDD space seems overkill though.
Oh shit, thought it was 11tb.
Nevermind.
