This. I like the Hylian tunic more…even the default colors or just recoloring it green. The nostalgia tunics are fricking gay with moronic boots. The Twilight tunic is the only good one.
“As the graphic fidelity has increased it becomes more difficult to make that hat look cool. As the game becomes more realistic it’s difficult to present it in a way that’s appealing.
If you look at Twilight Princess, I really made the hat long, so it would flap in the wind and move around. But because of that people were like ‘What’s he got? What’s in that hat?’ We’re reaching our limits as to how we can make it look cool.”
It looks medieval and stands out. They did a great job and understood character design. Then a creatively bankrupt moron took over the series and he's just a generic twink with a blue shirt now in a setting that isn't medieval anymore.
I just wear white trousers and swap between this tunic and a green Hylian one. The other outfits in the game are just silly costumes or poorly implemented survivalist gear.
Link wears that in the prologue right? If he was wearing that how does it end up in Hyrule Castle where Zelda hid it as a surprise for him? Or am I just misremembering it and he wears the old Champion Tunic from Breath of the Wild?
it wouldn't make sense, totk link is the still the hero of the wild because it's the same dude
however, the champion's tunic getting reused with only slight modifications is kinda dumb
Yeah classic tunic looks good on a SD/toon character only. TP was indeed laughable. They should go full heroic fantasy à la LOTR. Some kind of legolas/Aragorn design. The hood in BOTW/TOTK is a good step forward.
But of course I don't expect so called fans/loyalists to understand.
I'm almost done with all that myself, only missing a bit less than 200 Korok Seeds. It's not fun per se, but it's interesting to discover just how much of the map I'd ignored and how many little nooks and crannies I'd missed despite thinking I had been pretty thorough. The least fun challenge was probably defeating all the minibosses, there's 250 of them so I just kept duping a very strong weapon to avoid having to constantly go search for new ones.
Unironically looks good. It's the ALttP design in 3D.
Just use this one
Looks good too.
I like everything about it except the shorts. Either make it pants or make it look pantsless like
why are his pantyhose ripped with holes?
Because you touch yourself at night
It's the Zelda 1/2 design actually
It's the Tunic of the Wild, which is specifically the BotW version. There's another one for Zelda 1.
It's clearly based on the ALttP tunic. Same style boots, collar, etc. Slightly updated details.
Based. Only zoomers dislike this tunic.
I like the brown sleeves, it makes Link look more like a normal peasant rather than magical forest fairy kid
not my problem

To be honest I never stopped to think why he wears that weird hat before. Why did Nintendo design him like this? Is it based on anything?
It's a phrygian cap. Been around since antiquity.
A little gnome sprite stands out on the NES.

We don't talk about that here
Snufkin
>hat doesn't look cool
Because Mario with his little hat and overalls looks cool, right? Dude needs to be hit with a 2x4.
my affinity for Twilight Princess grows every year. what an incredible design.
I really wish you could recolor the Champion's Leathers to be green instead of blue.
The chainmail and gambeson look really nice and are the same reason why TP and SS had the best tunics.

Wouldn't be so bad if it was a different shade of blue
they could of went for a shade closer to green and it would be best of both worlds. The blue tunic looks more like a t shirt than tunic or armor
>The blue tunic looks more like a t shirt
Because of the awful sword logo sewn into it.
it does sorta look like the texture bugged. should have been darker

I like dyeing the hylian tunic green and using it with the OOT hat/hylian trousers
bonus points for dying the hylian trousers white, I've been doing that since BoTW
Thanks bro, I'll wear it proudly
perfect. aside from the right arm
Green is not a creative color.
I hope we get a Tunic of the Kingdom in the DLC. I was pretty disappointed with the fursuit you unlock after completing all the shrines.

Ew, I'm not a casual who wears worst color clothes.
I refuse to believe someone can actually find this level of completionism fun
