in the sands of time trilogy games you have a limited number of uses to get yourself out of a situation and if you continue to frick up, you die. likewise, there are a lot of situations in those games where rewinding time does not always get you out of trouble. in fact the entire second game has enemies and bosses that straight up ignore your use of it and come after you anyway.
Only so often until you run out of charges. Anywho it shits all over that artsy shit in terms of everything, especially platforming and physics.

The game looks good and is developed by the Rayman Origins/Legends team. It'll be the first Ubisoft game I buy in a decade.
Looks like a decent throwback to 2D Prince of Persia but as someone else said, it's an Ubisoft game so it's off to waiting a couple months until it's in the bargain bin like all of them.

The mc isn‘t the prince but the game is still very inspired by persian history. There‘s lots of references to persian mythology and one of the people making the music specializes in persian music

SoT trilogy was fine and it ended, had it's conclusion, no reason to beat the dead horse. Forgotten Sands only proves it right.
PoP 2008 was Ubisoft's most original idea in like 15 years. I think it's actually a good idea to mix things up. Like Capcom did fixed camera survival horror with RE1-3, action games with RE4-6 (only 4 was good though) and FPP with 7 and Village.
This one looks good when it come to gameplay. The reveal trailer was trash due to moden rap music that thematically doesn't fit at all, but the following ones are looking good. I won't buy it, because it's Ubisoft, but it might be worth a pirate.

The main character isn't the Prince, he's one of the Prince's bodyguards. Not the first time they've had you not play as THE Prince in these before, it's just that his look (and the music in the trailer) doesn't fit the vibe of the series at all. Granted that's probably just bad Ubi marketing.
