          Not really...
You need to pitch the game to Nintendo if you want to release it aleast on the eShop.

          >To become an authorized Nintendo Switch developer, please sign up at https://developer.nintendo.com.
          >The next step is to contact the Nintendo Regional offices at [email protected] if you’re based in Europe or Australia, or [email protected] if you’re based in the USA or elsewhere, to pitch your project and seek authorisation to become a Nintendo Switch developer.
          >Once you‘ve been approved as a developer, you should register your request via Nintendo’s GameMaker middleware web page. Please note that you’ll be required to sign in to your Nintendo Developer account to access this page.

My speculation is that Nintendo thinks they have too many platforming franchises and is trying to move away from supporting Mario characters having platformers since they get overshadowed by Mario. Peach is getting a new game and it looks like it dropped the platforming roots from Super Princess Peach. Wario dropped his platforming roots for WarioWare. Donkey Kong Country is still dead.

I think Yoshi get's to stay alive as a platformer due to the aesthetic.

LOL game and wario? That shit was absolute trash. It was barely a wario ware game. It had like 11 "bigger" minigames in score attack form, all but 2 were trash. It had 2 banger multiplayer minigames though. I played it a lot at parties for just apple thief and islands. 1-2 Switch coasted through on the nothing else to buy period of a new console. Not always a bad thing, Disgaea as a series is still alive due to the early Switch port of D5 doing extremely well, which I'm sure some folk really appreciate. But let's be real, no one was clamoring for a 1-2 Switch sequel.

games seem fairly cheap to make
they get a good return on investment considering they sell anywhere from 1-3 million on average. For reference, Breath of the Wild only needed 2 million copies sold to break even and Nintendo said it's one of the most expensive games they ever published.

I think it's less that it was on 3DS and more that it came out way too fricking late-the Switch doesn't have all of the things necessary to make it's selection of microgames work, after all (no mic, no dual screens).
If it had released in 2014/2015 it probably would've hardcore revitalized interest in the series before Get it Together, but releasing a whole year post Switch launch was just begging for a flop

a lot of the first year switch felt like Nintendo was bracing themselves for another WiiU by supporting the 3DS as much as possible, once the Switch became a success they quickly killed development for it

The controls were a little hard to adjust to. I mean you couldn't really randomly pick up and play, because you're like "how does this character move again? Oh shit I tried to jump and I already failed the game."

      Anonymous

I liked it but going back to traditional controls was a turn-off for people who liked the gimmicky aspect of other WarioWares. Also wanted it to be a grinding type game with the character leveling for longevity. And compared to Gold, the character cutscenes were gimped and not as charming so threads didn't last long.

Get it together only gets shit because the bar is so high from the rest of the series. GIT is only pretty good instead of 12/10 peak gaming, so it looks subpar by comparison.

      Anonymous

I also did, but the way I feel about Warioware game quality is often proportional to how many failstates or chances of fricking up a run you have. You had so many chances to frick up a microgame in GiT that I'd avoid a lot of levels just because I felt like it was more of a cointoss than a test of reflexes if I won

I think WarioWare is a series that I'm just kind of over at this point. I am not faulting the gameplay at all, but I feel it's also done everything it can now, and frankly the cast itself is more interesting than said gameplay. They are ultimately being wasted on this series.

      Anonymous

do you play the games with friends? I agree the single player has stagnated a bit but the games are still a lot of fun at parties.

They could (and SHOULD) make an RPG set in Diamond City and have attacking each enemy using a different Warioware cast initiate a unique microgame that determines DMG dealt like the timed hits in Mario & Luigi (so each mook would generate their own set of microgrames depending on who attacks it resulting in large combination of rotating playstyles depending on each character's control gimmick.

        Anonymous

unfathomably based. The Warioware cast is so underutilized. Even just Mona or Jimmy or Ashley appearing in a party game or Mario Kart would be such a huge deal.

          Anonymous

considering how they are scraping the bottom of the barrel in mario kart etc. it's crazy they just refuse to use any of the Wario cast

            Anonymous

It is hard to image how to approach it. There are a lot of popular characters, so paring it down to just 2 so it doesn't result in WarioWare Kart is a headache.

i've heard both twisted and smooth moves being said as the best games but i've only played the latter, i know twisted has a patch that makes the d-pad do the motion controls for emulators but i haven't really messed with it yet.

        Anonymous

the d-pad patches have existed for ages but the game never plays well with it
to properly play it you'd need to emulate it with something like a phone that has a gyroscope or buy the actual cartridge, which I ended up doing
They presumably would be able to make an NSO port like they did with tilt n tumble but then you'd have to buy the expansion pass

          Anonymous

yeah i'll probably have to go with phone emulation, d-pad would probably take away from the experience and even if it ever got on NSO i'm not paying for nintendo's online.

Yes but Mona has strange taste which is why she loves him.

A detail about Mona that's not immediate obvious is how bizarre she is despite being a normal preppy girl. Has a pet monkey, elephant and pig, loves bugs for some reason, and she's obsessed with noses. This explains her initial attraction to Wario (and probably why she also hangs with Jimmy T too).

              https://www.nintendo.co.jp/n08/azwj/mona/profile.html

They brought some of these references back in Get It Together, as her mansion has statues of bugs on her front lawn.

she appears to live without her parents if Get it Together's stage cutscene for her appears to be any indication, so that means she's age of majority at the very least

i don't mind the gold redesigns outside of a couple like orbulon, but i really wish the style from before it was kept, at least a couple gallery images in GIT used the older designs and i think one microgame has an edit of one of wario's smooth moves images.

        今度、展覧会に彫刻を出品するってことで、モデルを探してるんだって。
        「鼻の素敵な男性を知ってるか」って聞かれたから、迷わずワリオのおじさまを薦めちゃった。
        でもモデルなんてしてくれるかな。
        >My dad is an artist. He is looking for a model for a sculpture he is going to show in an exhibition. He asked me if I knew a man with a nice nose, I recommended Wario without hesitation. But would he be interested in being a model?

        >Today, my dad met Wario. He said, "I love the color and shape of his nose!" That kind of praise makes me happy, too. I can't wait to see how it turns out.
