I'm 35 and i noticed this too. If PvE games overtake PvP completely I wouldn't be that surprised. It's even reflected in my own gaming habits. I have way more hours in Splatoon than Smash Brothers.
This has always been the case, even amongst older players. People talk smack to their teammates purely to cope with their frustration and the fact they lost/are loosing most of the time. It's a bit perverse since, putting effort into that instead of putting effort into winning is counter productive which in turn tells me that a lot of players go with the mind set of "I play NOT to lose", instead of "I play to win"; as long as you shift the consensus of blame towards someone else on your team.
For example in ASShomosexualS it was usually the jungler who would get blamed excessively even if they didn't int or frick up.
This is why I find it really smart that the upcoming Riot fighter is primarily built around a 2v2 mode where each player controls a different character. It'll allow newbies to get into a fighting game where they can blame their partner for the loss.
Fighting game devs have tried to appeal to them by making simple inputs a genre staple, but that may be the next step the genre might have to take if they want to create a new generation of fightangays.
man the cope you fightinggays make up to not accept that your genre is fricking dead is crazy the faster you wake up and realize no one wants to play a old genre that should have died alongside arcades the faster i can stop hearing you guys cry
boring
not dynamic
map doesnt affect the gameplay unless its a 3d fighter and even then no so much
2d side scroller other then tekken
QTE game
guessing game
50/50 game
games requires no true iq
game hasn't fundamentally evolved since the og street fighter
only respectable competitive games are RTS games dota likes and Csgo instead of playing your dead ass genre actually adapt for once
Or maybe it's because younger people have literally any other options.
I was born in the 80s, your only real popular options for competitive multiplayer were racing or fighting games, either on consoles or at the arcade. Would I give a shit about fighting games in the 21st century l if I hadn't cut my teeth on SF2?
By the age of the internet you had way more options, like first person shooters, again also on PC or console.
In the age of the internet you have to convince the masses that your game is going to be more enjoyable than Fortnite or COD or CS2 or DOTA or LOL.
>posts a list of the most consistently unenjoyable and torturous experiences available, literally designed to matchmake people into situations where they only get their hit of dopamine from a victory at planned intervals for maximum addiction
moronic. i played arena shooters from 2000 till now and trying fighters a couple years ago was great while even the sight of BR shit or moba shit makes me wanna puke.
same with the obsession with ass. entire generation with no confidence pussies who only look at girls when they aren’t looking. notice the Indians who are obsessed with breasts. they have no shame and all the confidence in the world
Fighting game players just find their own ways to cope and excuse their losses too.
This is why you take the RTS pill and watch a 40 minute long replay where you make frick up after frick up and stare it in the face unflinchingly in order to get better.
It's kinda true but it's not only that. Teams make games more dynamic and as much as it's comfortable to blame your team when you lose, it's also intoxicating to feel like you lead your team to victory.
this is completely true, but it's pretty funny to say as the dev of tekken in particular, since there's are many more reasons you lose in that particular game than 'I made a bad decision based on insufficient information'
In most fighting games you shouldn't blame the balancing or the matchup or fundamental game design for your loss, but in Tekken you definitely should.
>Harada once again says some moronic cope on twitter to talk down on people for criticizing his shit game
Shocked, truly. Couldn't be that people just like working together with their friends or that most team-based games offer way more value and quality for your money compared to $70 Tekken with monetization worse than F2P games and absolute dogshit online by the same devs that charged for framedata and had your rank stored clientside while releasing literal P2W DLC characters you couldn't lab back to back.
Call me when T8 has netcode as good as Soul Calibur 1 on Fightcade.
Actually because I need an audience to commend me when I kick ass
So what you're saying is you stream yourself.
I'm 35 and i noticed this too. If PvE games overtake PvP completely I wouldn't be that surprised. It's even reflected in my own gaming habits. I have way more hours in Splatoon than Smash Brothers.
definitely true
doesn't mean it's always automatically why people don't like fighting games tho.

>tfw giga coomer who obsesses over assess, breasts and pussies all equally
Skill issue
Wrong. I don't play online games. Cope, Cuckenbro.

The real mans genre
basez
No it's because it's the only place I can play as a team and have team interactions.
I don't care what bosses think, get back to us when one of the playable characters has an opinion.
Factual and objectively correct information
