He's too fricking good at war.
Do you think he's being mentally controlled by the Gman through the ordeal? Maybe that's why Gman always stays close by.

he's being mentally controlled by (you)
Every time you save and reload, it's canon
Do you think gman is celibate? incel?
He's trying to get his g spot stimulated, but a previous hire has been unable or unwilling to perform the tasks laid before him.
The G man's G spot must be sssssssssssssstimulated
>Is it really ass sex time again, Mr ssssemen
He's your average Ph.D. in theoretical physics.
I fricking hate that there will never be a Half-Life movie with (younger) Jeff Goldblum as Gordon Freeman.
this is the real gordon according to valve, your picture is fan made
Gordon if he real
That was never meant to be seen in-game, it's just a placeholder.
You don't know how a placeholder looks.
Frick off.
you see him in game in the gman cutscene
MK Ultra'd CIA agent
He's being controlled by the player.
All of the females in hisfascility would dream about him, men too
Anon. Gordon Freeman is G(ordon)-(Free)Man.
Hes in a HEV suit
Also if you notice the relaod animations for Adrian Shepperd are quicker since hes supposed to be a professional
It wasn't about how smart or how good you were. It was chaos and luck, and anyone who thought different was a fool.
I guess Barney got off really lucky.
If you count the Tutorial as canon, it means many personal, including him, had combat training for unknown reasons or just because.
If you don't consider it canon, you can do some mental gymnastics about him being a fricking genius and the fact that his special field required him to do physical labor on top of that, he only moved rocks on the game but he probably had more important or even more "physical".
They were training people to shoot up Xen. That's why there are so many dead HEV suit guys with ammunition
may be or maybe they send people of the same profession as Gordon after the accident.
Is not like you saw an army of them, although many of them got really far, which furthers the point that every HEV suit user had some training of some sort, gordon was just lucky that he had a "warm up" and had real combat training for aliens before he actually go to them.
I'd like a show about Black Mesa. Not about the experiment going wrong but the daily routine of the wagies and exploring that comfy base.
>High impact reactive armour
>Morphine
>Various other gadgets
He's in the sci-fi equivalent of Berserker armour, if you look at his model in Alyx he's literally being held together by the suit and duct tape, he really does have no covert skills or anything like that, he's just an incredibly lucky man in an incredibly useful and powerful piece of technology. That and G-Man definitely can alter causality if he's capable of freezing time in the ways he has so it's also luck manipulated by Mr.G.
>He's in the sci-fi equivalent of Berserker armour,
Holy based. Never thought of it that way.
>, he really does have no covert skills or anything like that
except he has to have them because we have seen HEV suit users DEAD on Xen.
The HEV suit in HL1 was definitely nowhere near as durable, that much is certain, I think disregarding simple dumb luck would be unfaithful towards the whole theme of Half Life, keep in mind Breen says he was in a state that precluded "further" development of covert skills inbetween 1/2, so it's not unlikely he has some basic firearms training, but I wouldn't say it's more than that personally.
>but I wouldn't say it's more than that personally.
brother, we don't know what Gordon freeman actual job was, you don't require a phd to move "rocks".
Besides, with ANY kind of suits you need to do some kind of training, HEV suits probably weights a lot more than regular armor, he had to be trained properly because he was in a scientific facility that was probably the PEAK of scientific research and what not.
>brother, we don't know what Gordon freeman actual job was
The game tells you in the minute one.
>ou don't require a phd to move "rocks".
Anon, I...
>missing the point this hard
bro, gordon wasn't just a "theoretical physicist", he was CLEARLY more than that, implied by the modules of the hev suit.
as a player, we only see gordon execute one task, and that is putting the suit to move a rock, as far as "experiments" go, it was "probably" one of the easiest, you can even say it was some kind of ritual/tradition to have a guy, literally exist, only to move a "rock" when black mesa had so many tech that could do it for them with even less human error.
Not many people realize just how much cancer Valve is responsible for.
>HL invented the scripted corridor
>HL invented the walky talky
>TF2 invented lootboxes
>Steam invented always-online DRM
>Gabe invented being a fat frick
He could probably take out the combine dyson sphere in epistle 3 all by himself
>write story into a corner
>say frick it and just make fun of fans for wanting HL3
What the frick is wrong with Valve?
GMan is Gordon.
There's a variety of reasons but my preferred lynchpin is that he's a smart fighter. The motto of HL1 was Run. THINK. Shoot. Live. He got through all the chaos and combat of Black Mesa because he was careful and considerate about his engagements, seeing each situation as a puzzle to solve through clever movement and use of his tools (weapons).
Obviously the real answer is that it's a game and it is designed so that the player wins BUT if Half Life were a book/movie/show, this would be my headcanon.
