for 400 freedom bucks, that's not too bad. what do you plan to do with it?
gaming mostly
I'd go with the second one you posted as well, depending on the mobo you can upgrade to a faster CPU later on.
The GPUs are basically equivalent but the 1660super might have less wear and tear on account of it being younger.
the third one is dogshit
Thanks anon. Very helpful
what about this
> Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-10400F CPU
16gb Ram
500GB SSD
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Super
Same price? Take this one. Better CPU.
thanks i might do
It's a no-brainer, the 10400F one also has a regular motherboard instead of some proprietary Acer crap that will need a special PSU adapter cable
This one is worse in every way yet morons will buy it because of the rgb
Honestly none of those are amazing deals in US prices, but might be different for NZD. The 1660 super system is by far the best value though.
600nz is about 375us
Sure, what I meant was in the US that's maybe $50-60 less than building a 12100F system with new parts and buying a used RX6600/2060 off ebay. I'd imagine the selection and taxes is probably much worse in NZ though
realized I forgot PSU but that's only $40-50. Does make the math worse though
This is better. Stronger cpu.
Gpu is around the same performance but half the power draw.
This one is a better deal OP. Also general rules about buying second hand PCs
>shoot for hardware about 2 gens old
Still mostly relevant but you are way further down the depreciation curve
alright boys Im going to pick this up in about 2 hours. Hope I dont regret it or I het mugged. I trust you guys though
godspeed anon
>one RAM stick
Get this, not that
There's a reason people are getting rid of these <8 gen Intel cpu PC's, they can't be upgraded to Windows 11.
Yes but why would you ever want to "upgrade" to windows 11
Windows 10 dies in 2025, that is not long from now. Shortly after that it will be going the way of Windows 7 pretty quickly in regards to everything dropping it.
By then Windows 12 would've come out and it it would've fixed everything that's shit about 11. Nevermind that you should be using linux anyway
found another one with same price range
>Graphics: BIOSTAR Radeon RX560D 4GB GPU
RAM: 16GB
CPU: Intel Pentium Gold G6400 Dual Core 4.0GHZ LGA1200 CPU
SSD: 256GB BIOSTAR S120 2.5" SSD
Motherboard: Gigabyte H510M DS2V Intel LGA1200 mATX Motherboard
Case: Xigmatek Scorpio II Mini Tower Case
>Intel Pentium Gold G6400 Dual Core 4.0GHZ
Two cores is not the best for gaming. Only for light stuff like browsing, watching videos.
Avoid anything Biostar.
They're like a tier 4 chunk manufacturer.
lmao have that case, was cheap like 35 bucks, it does it's job though. But if you have cats, don't get it. My cat always jumps on it because it's warm and in the process shuts down my pc always in moments of importance.
So good that you didn't but this one is comparable to the GTX 950. Also that pentium sucks. Though it's on LGA 1200 platform so you could put something like that i5 10400f in later on.
The only way this was better than the one you went with is that it has dual channel ram. However it has a crappy gpu and cpu. Also 256 gigs of storage is enough for the OS plus one or two modern games due to how bloated they are.
With this or any other PC, make sure to find out what kind of PSU it has. You don't want some chinkshit PSU blowing up your mobo or GPU, and that can be a genuine problem especially with pre-built machines.
is psu the processor?
(P)ower (S)upply (U)nit
>psu literally says FSP on it
Do you guys not even take a glance before parroting something?
OP has mentioned a bunch of other PCs you retard, did you even bother to read anything else in this thread?
I got a 5600x, 32gb, 1070ti system at the end of the cryptoshit for 400 bucks.
That looks like a prebuilt with custom parts, likely going to overheat and explode on you if you try to use it to full capacity during the summer.
there she is
get a cheap custom CPU cooler, those stock intel ones always thermal throttle.
what should I upgrade first and then next to make it a Ganker respectable pc
Clean the dust
Get another 16GB RAM module so it can run dual channel.
Get a better CPU cooler
this is gonna break the bank isnt it. Damn what have I got myself into
Nah that PC was still the better buy, even if you just leave it as is.
Thanks, everyone who helped me choose this has been awesome
be sure to buy the exact same ram stick with the same specs if you upgrade
The stock cooler should be fine on a 10400f, loud maybe but it shouldn’t throttle under load.
I second the get another stick of ram and clean the dust, though dust first, ram optionally if you see some issues related to single channel memory, cpu cooler last unless the stock cooler gets too noisy.
Lol get a job fellow kiwi, my GPU costs more than your whole setup.
must be nice being Chinese
my first gaming pc is all set up
Good for you. Anyway the only upgrades you ever might want to do are again dual channel ram but you can delay it quite a bit. Maybe when newer games become even more ram hogs.
The only other thing would be storage. Right now you got 500 gigs which you will know if it's enough or not. Just simply buy another SSD (or maybe a HDD if you use it for bulk storage like images and videos) once you are starting to get low on storage. But again I'm not sure how much stuff you download.
do i just simply pull out the old ram and stick 2 new ones in? how do i know if its ddr3 ddr4 or ddr5?
i5 10400f is only compatible with ddr4. Now it depends on how much you want to spend. Your options are to buy another stick of ram and add it to the slot. But unless you can find the same exact one as you have, it's going to be mixed ram which can have it's issues.
Or you can buy a kit of 2 sticks. And then just simply remove the old stick, store it or sell it. And put the two new ones in. The correct way to put those two stick would be that first stick goes to the 2nd slot and the second goes to the 4th slot.
Remove it from the floor and away from your feet. You don't want to accidentally kick it.
Since when did computer cases become so light that simple accidental kick and it would fall? I'd have to kick my computer that weighs more than 40 pounds pretty fucking hard for it to fall.
Elevating it will slow the dust build up. Besides that you don't want to scuff it or break the display window.
desktops go on desk top, simple as
looks good bud. congratulations. dont be afraid to take it apart and dust occasionally. it can build up quick
Now you can browse Ganker and not be called a phonefag
nice and clean
>hey guys im a retarded gaymer and i install shitdows 11
reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace
can you buy shit on ebay in nz or is it overpriced as fuck?
can get cheaper xeon systems in usa
