Name one song outside of the intro that's worth listening to outside of the game.
Just one?
Gerudo Valley, my dad loved every time I was playing in that area back in the day and would later hum the trumpet melody line
That one is plagiarized.
Everything is. good luck finding a melody that hasn't been composed yet.
But I'm curious, what did it "plagiarize"? Paco de Lucía?
Can Nintendo go 1 min without being cringe?
I don't hear it.
Every song. Kakariko is still the peak village theme, everyone knows and loves songs like the song of Storm or Gerudo Valley and even the ocarina melodies are all catchy and timeless
Kakariko Village is taken from ALttP.
That was easy
>that was easy
Still waiting. If your game doesn't have tracks screaming Black person it's not going to count in my book. Here's a real soundtrack for you incels.
kek.
Licensed soundtrack are so soulless
Thps, crazy taxi and maximum carnage all full of soul.
Zzzzz it's just lazy, at that point I'd rather just play my own Winamp playlists
Your favourite weeb games steal real western music all the time https://youtu.be/aZaSgnYLceQ?si=pNCPlTCSQcjUbovi
I'd rather that than having music off the radio on my games. Again, I'd rather make my own playlist at that point
Makes zero sense how everyone wants original music in an industry based off plagriarism. Might as well write your own music to make sure it's authentic.
Time travel game rickrolls you before the meme even existed. This is practically /x/ if you think about it.
HOLY SHIT! how did Shygehroo My Shamooters get away with this!?
>Make playlist
>get loicense to songs
>put in game
>"Haha, muh original soundtrack"
Ok anon, Spotify has a better soundtrack
That's a remix, you fricking moron. It sounds like generic midi shit in the actual game:
It's the same melody, my suspiciously hostile friend
>midi shit
Wrong board
Sounds way better in the game than in that remix.
I own a spa resort and actually use OOT music in our rooms. Zora's Fountain, Ice Cavern and inside deku tree are some of the ones I use the most. Customers love it, some even recognized them and have complimented us because of it
No game has music worth listening to outside of the game. OoT comes very close, though. You are just tired of the music because you heard it a million times
>No game has music worth listening to outside of the game.
Not surprised a defender would say something like this.
>that's worth listening to outside of the game.
That's not what it is intended for, though. It's supposed to bring out the atmosphere of a scene/location in the game
Gerudo Valley
Forest Temple
Spirit Temple
>outside of the intro
based
the intro isn't even the most well known song from OoT, it's probably Saria's Song.
literally like half this playlist is music from OoT, 30 million views so clearly people like listening to it.
Windmill Hut walked...
...so Thunderstruck could run
>bitchdork having a valuable opinion on anything
What the frick is pitchfork?
Formulate your own opinions, drone.
Why is there 3 links, 3 Zeldas and only 1 Gannon?
And the music is decent but I'd rather lists to crocs ost.
this shit is still creepy as frick and almost drove me crazy when i was stuck in the dungeon for hours. nintendo is weak for censoring it later but i get it
I mean it's more than just a soundtrack. It's also a story as well as a gameplay device. No game deserves it more.
why does she have a bowser thingy?
Malon is a sort of reincarnation of Marin from LA, who was a sort of reincarnation of Princess Peach, so I guess it was to give her some sort of connection to the Mario lore
Wind Waker is still my fav Zelda OST, it's not much but it's very effective
Dragon Roost Island remains one of my all tome favorite 6th gen tracks
The BotW arrangement is so good
Anon, upvoting and reviewing are LGBT+ behaviors. Zelda leddit troons are legion.
I can't read this post, not enough Ganker buzzwords
There was an actual good thread about game music OSTs a few days ago.
zzzelda containment board when?
Legit I'd be fine with that.
Nostalgia-driven Ocarina boosterism has gotten completely out of control.
Let’s go one step further and make an OoT board and I would be down.
Thoughts on the Majora soundtrack?
Even better than OoT imo. I'm not unconvinced you could have someone who's never even heard of MM listen to this song and they'd know it was about a government meeting that goes nowhere just by sound alone.
astral observatory and last day for me lads
Thats great. But for me, its Stone Tower Temple.
A few bangers but overall much weaker, like the ocarina melodies sound very generic, hardly catchy
Still great for what it is
Song of Soaring is the best ocarina song ever though
Obligatory post
The OST is so good that it's used as a leitmotif in every Zelda to this day
Zelda has always had remixes of songs from previous games. Half of the songs in OoT are remixes themselves.
yeah vidya OSTs always do that
Really? The only reason people care about this music is because it's tied to OOT. It doesn't deserve this at all I can name like 50 better OSTs
>pitchfork
Absolutely disgusting. Do you not know how much shit pitchfork has always been?
Pitchfork? I remember when they exclusively wrote about indie music, now it's like entirely rap. Never cared for any of the music they covered, just that they were mocked a lot for the verbose writing.
i love forest temple and water temple. make those dungeons such a relaxing meditative experience.
Spirit Temple has such a grandoise, ethereal feel to it. It really feels like you're in a spiritual place.
Is there any documentary on how Kondo did this OST?
If this game weren't made by Nintendo, no one would praise its soundtrack. Pick a random jrpg from that generation and you'll probably find better songs.
Ok, post them
Maybe that's the case, but nah OOT still has a lot of condensed quality.
This. The ocarina songs were all pretty good and there's the lost woods tune and a few others but I don't remember this game because of the music
It's not a bad soundtrack but it sounds much better in the game it was made for, not as good listening to it just for fun. I get that not everyone is that into game music, but why bother making a GOAT list if you're not? This is such an entry level choice.
So barring remixes from past games and plagiarized tracks, which OoT tracks are actually original?
>So barring remixes from past games
Composed by the same person
>plagiarized
Compositions by people who work with Nintendo or are friends with Nintendo
>which OoT tracks are actually original?
All of them because 5 seconds of a song being similar doesn't make the entire song unoriginal
It's the cute little jingles that make it so good or melodies like Hyrule Market and the store music. Those are underrated
EH REH
EH REH
EH REH
EH REEEEEHHHHH
DOO DOO DOO DOO
Forest temple, home
For me? It's Ice cavern
>tfw oot reminds me of my crush that never reciprocated
Rough
Dinosaur Planet shits on Ocarina of Tripe’s soundtrack.
Discovery Falls, Dragon Rock, Warlock Mountain, Cape Claw, SnowHorn Wastes, Moon Mountain Pass, literally every single area has music that sounds like it was done on-site by a motherfricking philharmonic orchestra. Ocarina of Time’s soundtrack sounds like some wretched midi shit you’d hear from Mario 64 composed by some amateur shittune composer who gets high from sniffing his own farts.
Rarechads, it’s time we rise up!
Philharmonic orchestra doesnt mean it has to be good. To be honest lot of soundtracks got fricked in the remakes by choosing wrong but realistic instruments.
I like both. No need to be so hyperbolic, anon-kun.
>Dinosaur Planet shits on Ocarina of Tripe’s soundtrack.
>"I'm a moron"
/vr/ is literally a board for idiots who don't know anything about games (or music for that matter) and just want to b***h
It's just the ideal soundtrack for a game, extremely memorable, doesn't take itself too seriously. And interactive even
Ironically, what pitchfork hipsters like most about OOT's soundtrack is ambient tracks like this
I agree it's super good for setting a mood but I prefer the actual melody traditional structure songs.
pitchfork is an american publication and americans can't stop deepthroating n64
Good. As deserved. Today, usually only wannabe Hollywood and artsy shit gets awards
street fighter ii is my pick
every single song is iconic af and very catchy, even the minor stuff like the stage select or the "secret" credits
For me it's zoras domain
I mean, can't beat kokiri forest, for starters.
Pitchfork sucks wiener but OOT is still king. Deku Tree's theme is incredible
>Deku Tree's theme is incredible
I'm glad they also used it for all the grottos so you can keep hearing it throughout the game. It really is one of the greats.
There is a surprisingly wholesome cute music teacher mom who plays its songs on a piano every day on Kick
Link? WTF is Kick?
Largely unrelated but I didn't want to shit up the catalog with a new thread. What's the best way to play OOT on a home brewed wii? I have the GameCube port, Wii VC, and wii64 emulator to choose from?
