Hitman: Blood Money BLIND

Hey guys, going through my backlog rn, this has been sitting in my library for years after I got it mega-cheap on a Steam sale. I've never played or really seen anything of a Hitman game before, but I'm going to play this one once it's done installing in like 10 mins. What am I in for?

          question to seasoned players:
is there a point to NOT just bringing all your weapons at once? i can easily fit them on the list on the right, do they fill out later?

            Anonymous

You might pay for weapon retrieval if you leave them on the map.

            Anonymous

if you plan on using them then sure otherwise if you play normally you'll likely have to drop them to get by guards frisking you and metal detectors. It's just pointless fricking around if you aren't' going to use them.

You don't need anything but the silver baller, and once you upgrade it it becomes one of the most badass weapons in vidya.
You can't conceal the larger weapons so it just makes you a massive liability.

            Anonymous

Wastes time because you'll never use them and the sniper rifle briefcase might break the "leave no evidence" check I can't remember. The silverballer alone can genocide a map.

            Anonymous

You'll have to lug a briefcase around that at the start doesn't even conceal the weapon inside so no, plus the shotgun and m4 are only useful if you wanna do a guns blazing run. i don't carry an smg because they check my white bread.

            Anonymous

the only weapon you'll want besides the silverballer is ocasionally the sniper rifle for certain hits. the shotty, smg, m4, they're basically an automatic e grade rank you're not really intended to use.

alright, finished the first real level
holy shit u guys werre right, that tutorial was nothing like the real thing, the tutorial railroads you so hard but the real game is very open to interpretation
anyway i basically just went in guns blazing and using 5 saves i made it out just fine, it was funny watching some of them fly the frick off balconies
probably gonna stop 4 now bc its late but these 2 or 3 hours were good fun, likely going to play again tomorrow, awesome game

I tended to play one level a day.
Start out being super cautious, trying to scout out the level, and finish it as best you can, and then replaying it until you know the clockwork like the back of your hand. Then when I was able to flawlessly finish the level at high speed I'd call it a day, and start again the next day.

Be sure to try different approaches, those newspapers that you see at the end of every mission change depending on how you go about it

Ever wanted some stealthy fun with the silenced m4 and shotgun, but not break your cover instantly?
If you hold the detonator in one hand, and an m4/shotty in the other, the weapon becomes invisible to NPCs.
The detonator effectively becomes a briefcase for large guns. Have fun.

The coin in blood money isn't a very good distraction, if you throw a gun however, guards will walk across the map to investigate.

I dont think ive ever used anything besides silverballer or W2000 while really trying to complete a mission

the machine guns are just for fricking around in FPS when you want to see 214 PEOPLE SLAIN on the newspaper

A stealth game that prioritizes infiltration and aspects of social-stealth mechanics (blending-in with disguises and interacting the world and NPCs).
There's quite a lot of depth to discovering how every mission plays out to efficiently carry out your task and mastering the mechanics and game jank will make you feel unstoppable.
If you like what you played in Blood Money, buy Hitman 3 Gold Edition (or whatever edition of the game that gets you Hitman 2016 and Hitman 2 as DLC).
The new Hitman trilogy doesn't hit the same high points of Blood Money but it is still pretty good and consistent with each other.

One of the best games in the Hitman series, if you like it and want more I recommend playing Hitman Contracts and the newer ones (the newer ones don't have the same atmosphere as Blood Money though unfortunately).

Kino, for a better experience I would advice to not try to absolutely get the better score but to roll with whatever happen to generate your own story.

Imagine you just killed your target and that a single cleaning lady saw you. A scoregay would reload but an organic storytelling Chad would either kill her and accept that the mission was a bit botched but at least no-one knows you did it, or spare her and while you did accomplish your mission without collateral damage your cover have been blown away.

More fun this way and you get a different press article written depending on what happened during the mission. Then you can always do back whenever you want and either try to accomplish the mission perfectly so give yourself a self imposed rule such as murdering every single npc on the map.

      Anonymous

I really hate the scoring system in games, especially stealth games.
forces you to play all non-lethal when you're given a wide array of weapons and options.

        Anonymous

You can replay a level as much as you want, and your score really means frick all except how close you get to canon 47.
And its fricking FUN to just go wild on levels. Score be damned.

On of the GOAT video games.
Just remember if you want to incapacitate someone without killing them you have to pull your gun, take them as a human shield, and then knock them out.
If shit goes sideways in a mission, don't restart, play it as it lies. Some of the most fun I ever had in the game was saying "frick it" and killing every single person on the level.

I'm guessing the newer Hitman games are not worth their, even on sale right?
there's like a a bundle of levels, an expansion pass and more
I don't even know what I should buy

      Anonymous

The new ones are fantastic, not quite the level of Blood Money but they're absolutely top tier
Purchasing them is a little confusing but I think you'd want the Hitman 3 Trilogy pack if you're buying it through Steam? You get access to all three games that way
The only bad new stuff is the Seven Deadly Sins DLC but otherwise they're great games

        Anonymous

        >With Hitman 2, you get access to the six main episodes. However, this does not include any of the DLC. There are two maps (New York and Haven Island) that aren’t included, and they’re two of the best maps in this entire trilogy. Plus, Haven Island lets you unlock the ludicrously overpowered Remote Emetic Gas Device, which is almost worth the price of admission on its own.
        >You can buy all of Hitman 2‘s DLC in a single pack called the Hitman 2 Expansion, and it costs $34.99 (though it’s sometimes on sale for cheaper). Note that you must purchase the Hitman 3 Access Pass version of this expansion for compatibility with Hitman Trilogy.

        >However, this does not include the Deluxe Escalations, or the Seven Deadly Sins contracts.

        this is what I found
the only completely game in the Trilogy edition is Hitman 1
        this shit is incredibly israeli

Well Hitman 1 is also the game where they did episodic releases, or at least tried to

the difficulty in the new games is too biased towards pulling off extra outlandish shit you don't need to do. For the most part just pulling off a single clean hit in blood money is pretty tough.

As a whole they're better than Blood Money for the sheer amount of things you can do but they're slightly repetitive and grindy in places

If you wait until they sell all 3 seasons for $50 or less that's easily 100h of playtime just doing a few runs per level, way more if you mess around
Definitely don't pay $200 or whatever they want for it right now

      Anonymous

They're awesome but got bad rep for being always online and the fact that they released the same game three times for $60 price tag. They're a bit more arcade-oriented than the previous games though. They expect you to replay each mission multiple times.

Nu HM1 - Very scripted, some levels are nearly impossible or have very limited solutions if you dont do the scripted stuff. Looking at hokido

NuHM2 - Less scripted, easily my favorite. Levels have the scripted solutions in them but theres more than enough room to do things your way. First time playing it i never used the scripts and i had a blast, definitly on par with Blood money. Hit a nice balance of free-style and guidance. I liked it.

Never played Nu HM3 - Looked like they were going back to HM1 style of missions just being gimmicks for scripts. Didnt want to download epic store for 1 game, so i just never bought it. Thanks timmy.

I don't remember it being hard to circumvent the mission stories in Hokkaido. Bangkok on the other hand was lame to SASO since one target is too easy and the other extremely limited.

One of the best games ever made, with literally the worst tutorial level of all time. No joke. The first level does not teach you how to play a Hitman game, and is formatted like no actual Hitman level. You will learn nothing, you will be forced to do moronic things instead of being given the choice to find your own solutions, and after it's over, the game has the fricking audacity of judging you based on the assumption that you had a choice, and that the level was a proper Hitman level, when it wasn't.

      Anonymous

that level still leaves a bad taste in my mouth, one of the most memorable scenarios in the series and they waste it on a bad tutorial, could have just been a basic, straight forward hit. funny how devs who are so far beyond Ganker armchairs can make such boneheaded choices.
