      Sapienza is still the best map in the game.

      However, Miami is a god-tier map, and an easy-mode tier showdown map

              it feels like a pain to get from one side to the other. i should try that prop breakable glitch that lets you climb on shit you normally can't. I'm sure that opens up a lot of possibilities for getting around a map

      You’d think they’d make it so that literally ANY npc on the map could be a target rather than just a select pool of NPCs, but I assume the reason they don’t do that is to ensure you roll a target who can be killed with an accident or consumable poison.

      this should allow you to do that (though apparently not with the variations present in the variations mod above)

        IO is able to find an outlet for the woke elements without letting it detract from the core game. I have to respect that.

        Besides, it’s really only the girl’s design that looks bad. The black guy looks fine and appropriate.

    yes but it would have been nice if they had added more map variants instead of that requiring a mod
    almost all of them work perfectly fine in the mode so it was a weird decision to not include them

    it's not random enough. you play it long enough you start to see the same level configurations, in terms of where the targets tend to be located, where you can find certain items, where certain obstacles like cameras are located. it should have been more free form, but it's ok for what it is.

        kinda defeats the purpose of a free form "kill this homie with no restrictions and be as creative or a simplistic as you want" sort of arcade mode if you ask me.

          True, but I also see the logic considering that some payout objectives require specific kill methods. Accidents in particular are already extremely situational on Freelancer, so having more potential target could potentially nerf them even harder.

          The Freelancer meta is very different from the main game meta afterall.

            accident kills aren't so bad given the game doesn't care about the circumstances of said "accident"
            knock out your target and place them under any collapsable or beside any explosive (bring a friend if it needs to be collareral), and it'll still count.
            the consumable poisons are absolutely worthless though. like 90% of the targets I get never drink or eat.

              Consumable poisons can be converted into syringes in your lab, and they can also be used to poison the vents/fumigation machines in New York, Whittleton and Haven.

              That is literally their only use. It’s way too risky to go for a food/drink kill.

                I should look around the hideout more. I know there's some throwables you can bring into the mission around it, but it feels pointless outside of that and the syringe maker. The music outside is really nice and tranquil, at least.

            accident kill just means propane explosion like 99% of the time in freelancer
            sad but it's just a limitation of randomly picking targets

              It’s not even that most of the time, since Freelancer changes the locations of certain items— Propane tanks included.

              Most of the accident kills I’ve gotten in Freelancer have either been drownings or push kills. Literally don’t even bother trying to set up an accident kill unless you have either the Sieker or the emetic bomb with you.

                eh I have pretty autistic map knowledge and they didn't really move stuff, they just removed some of them
                if you know where they all are supposed to be you can find them easily still

    I'm not up to freelancer yet but I've been playing through WoA and getting level 20 on each map. I haven't played in a while because I'm on Mumbai and I really don't enjoy it on repeat playthroughs.

      Mumbai is one of the top three maps I hate in WoA.

        Colorado is bad because it's really flat and basically all hostile territory, but once you learn the routes you can at least go through it quickly. Bangkok has a weird division between the two halves of the map that makes getting across annoying and some of the choke points with guards kind of suck. My biggest issue is trying to snipe across the two upper levels and needing to wait forever for targets to get into position. Mumbai has some cool areas and ideas, but overall it's too busy in a bad way and even if I know the map pretty well, it feels like I spend too much time waiting or not actively playing. Scouting and watching routes also gets annoying because of how big the level is.

    I wish they made a couple more maps just for the mode. I understand that familiarity with the various locations is a part of being better at the game but i just wanna mix it up a bit more.

      One way they could do this without designing completely new maps is to make randomised variantions of the existing maps with slight changes between them. Then have these variations appear at random in Freelancer.

    i haven't played for months cause i got super pissed off cause i had a legendary sniper rifle but i lost it to a bug. i put it in a briefcase and threw it up a ledge but it landed in an out of bounds corner and i couldnt get to it

      alt+f4 is your friend. there's a lot of bullshit that can happen in this game, like 47 deciding to pummel someone instead a silent takedown; people straight up resisting the effects of emetic darts because they got spooked; all the fricking times you do something illegal, get a good distance away, but somehow every civilian and guard knows you're the perpetrator and immediately freaks; and a bunch of other one offs that have screwed me. It's a really damn good mode, but man can it be frustrating at times.

    It was good, but feels samey after a while and gets dull. I would have been ok with them fleshing out the idea more and making it a paid expansion, but it's still fun as it is

    It was very fun as is and I feel it could be fleshed out to be truly insane. Eventually you find kind of best strats and getting a silence pistol is basically an I win button for most of it but its great.

    I bet it's just some stupid shit like being able to close the garage door but then again I didn't expect you to be able to fix the poison machine. Really wish they added a bit more than cosmetics and mercers to unlock (half of which arr locked behind DLC) after you reach like level 50.
