Red dead red motion is a video game so good non-game players could enjoy it. The tale of John Marston doing everything for the gov and ending up getting shot in the back and fricked over because he was no longer useful and they actually didn’t care about him despite him being a decent man and working hard for them was tragic. He basically betrayed and got rid of the only people he could actually trust while doing it too.

Then you havent been paying attention. This shit has been happening for years and games take years to come out. All the games coming out today getting flamed for using sweetpedoinc and the like commited their sins years ago.
I'm extremely into Old West stuff before the game even released, once it was made clear you could do things like play poker, hunt, fish to the extent that you could and how good the game looked I was sold. Then it went on to actually, for the most part, meet up to my wild expectations I had for those side activities. That you could even play online and play poker against real people was something I wanted for ages. So all that when combined together made up a sort of Wild West simulator that existed separate from the story and what makes the game truly special.
Is it ACTUALLY good? I talked to a good faith anon and he said the "immersive" mechanics aren't even good like Death Stranding and a lot of it is fluff.
Death Stranding is shit, i suggest that you ignore anybody who likes it, anything that comes out from their mouth should be ignored the moment they tell you Death Stranding is good.
The game is never actually fully woke because Dan Houser is a good writer with actual integrity and skill but it definitely has some eye-rolling moments (worst being the entire character of Sadie, but also shit like not having any native characters outside the reservation to be fought or antagonised, no native gangs, a ridiculous portrayal of the KKK, and the eugenicist guy in Saint Denis, the gang being weirdly progressive and tolerant, etc.). That said, the game definitely pulls its punches in a way that old Rockstar would not have done.
I don't even disagree with you honestly, I just hate all the people who talk about this game like it's pozzed garbage on par with Forspoken or something. Besides, the first game already established the gang as being a weirdly tolerant for the time, given Dutch's obsession with the Natives.
I thought the first game made it kinda clear that Dutch only had natives in his gang because he could manipulate them easily considering their natural hatred of the US government and expanding civilisation, which RDR2 accurately portrayed too (one of the only things it did consistently with RDR1). RDR1 is pretty much neutral and cynical when it comes to any sociopolitical themes (John scoffs at being called a socialist and says he doesn't give a shit about politics) whereas RDR2 definitely portrays the gang as weirdly commune-esque, which isn't the vibe given by RDR1.
Maybe that's true, it was definitely clear that Dutch was manipulating the natives in RDR2. I guess I just read it as Dutch idolizing the Natives and seeing them as living his ideal, but I guess it could have been portrayed differently in RDR1.
GTA6 will be inferior to RDR2 in almost every way is my actual unironic prediction. I really hope I'm wrong but I just don't see it being better or even close to the level of RDR2, not in terms of writing or even gameplay (e.g., just like GTA5 they'll ditch the advanced physics from Max Payne 3).
From what I'm hearing, RDR2 is main inspiration for GTAVI. Movements heavy, gameplay has slowed down and way more emphasis on physics, sneaking, and way more advanced radiant AI.
Well that gives me some comfort then. I want the relatable, fast-paced and vibrant world of GTA but with the realistic and immersive gameplay of RDR2. I'd be happy if that's what we got, even if the writing sucks (which it probably will).
I'm replaying rdr1 since I finished 2 the other week and I'm at the beechers hope section
I don't want to say goodbye to john bros...
I just wanna farm
Unlike most people I love the RDR2 Epilogue because it has a comfy feeling and it lets me imagine John just permanently living in that way for the rest of his life, exploring the world, having fun adventures and travels, and always having his family to come back to, with the worst of things in the past. The story honestly works pretty well if you imagine it ending canonically in 1907 after American Venom.
i've reached the encampment, robbed a train, hd some shitty mini sidequest with a kidnapped priest, spent the next 100h in online, is it worth redownloading? And why the frick is robbing trains missing from online?
This games kinda short if you get bored with the side shit and just do the missions.
It's cause they cut a shitload of content, including a fully explorable Guarma with a town hub for missions and an entire location in Mexico.
It's literally just a one giant cutscene. It's not even a video game.
I love this game. I wish they would release a 4k 60fps patch for next gen.
I just fricking want mexico dammit
Play RDR1, it's got Mexico in it

Yeah it was more like a movie than a video game.

Both games have that tragic aspect. Rockstar can't write for shit but these are surprisingly good, thematically.
Witcher 3 - 35GB
Red Dead 2 - 115GB
competency crisis caused by dei hiring practices. Turns out merit is more important to making video games than skin color or ideology.
Way before the dei thing imo

Are you ok
No, nu vidya is all propaganda ridden slop and /vr/ is too slow to talk to anyone about good games.
Shadow Of Mordor 2 size
RDR2 curbstomps Witcher 3 in sheer scale and plethora of animals, unique highly detailed locations, and different NPCs. Look at this squirrel.
Yeah because it had x10 the budget and the experience.
That wasnt the issue at hand, lol. Read the thread
My favourite part is when you participate in a woman's rigths march
unholy slop

It's a matter of opinion. I think it's pretty good mechanically with a goofy story that only really coalesces towards the end.
Death Stranding is shit, i suggest that you ignore anybody who likes it, anything that comes out from their mouth should be ignored the moment they tell you Death Stranding is good.
>tfw wienerstar doesn't give a frick about RDO and allowed modders to completely take over
owell, had fun with it the first 3 months
sadly its Rockstarslop, even Ubislop is more entertaining.
Theyre both pretty sloppish but saying ubi is better is ultra mid take moronic
Valentine, home...
Def the best. Strawberry is great for those northern hunting expeditions.

Yea, literally. It's a movie, not a game.
I bought it just now for the Western shoot outs.
Enjoy
I don’t think you know what a movie is.
>inb4 Arthur doesn't lynch the black guy so it's woke

Do you guys think GTA 6 will finally fix the worst feature in all of gaming? (Tap X to run)
you can change that in the options but yes

The house building part is Kino John offering Uncle and Charles a home is heartfelt
I have that as a gif

Slow and tedious. Rockstar's worst game. At least it's pretty.
